• Anina (10/5): Absolutely amazing - This is the perfect place to relax in Zanzibar. A little paradise at the beach and a few minutes drive from Paje. I loved the calmness and especially the hospitality - people took great care of me. Cocktails were amazing and the food delicious. Highly recommend it. Athmosphere was amazing with lot of little places to read and relay. I will definitely come back !
• Nina (10/5): Excellent decision to come here, were really sad to leave - We loved staying at Evergreen bungalows, it was the first part of our holidays in Zanzibar and we couldn't have wished for a better welcome. The staff is the best, super kind and attentive, the food is delicious and the portions abundant. We loved the chilled and relaxed vibe, the happy dogs, cats and monkeys living in harmony and the location on the beach itself with plenty of corners to relax. Also, thank you very much Claudia for the generous free upgrade of our room, we loved staying right on the beach and were sad when it came time to leave. Nothing really, I mean AC in the room would be appreciated because it can get a bit hot at night, but we knew there isn't one before booking, so we cannot really say that this is something we didn't like.

• Michael (9/5): Ein Ort zum runterkommen. Hier möchte und muss man nicht wieder weg :-) - Schöne Bungalows in traumhafter Lage! Freundliches und hilfsbereites Team. Alles sehr sauber. Leckeres Essen und große Getränkeauswahl. Wenn man vorher auf dem Festland war und niedrigere Preise gewohnt ist, muss einem klar sein, dass Zanzibar Inselpreise hat. Hierfür sind die Preise im Evergreen absolut angemessen. Ein Ort zum runterkommen! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und können diese Unterkunft absolut empfehlen - wir würden wieder kommen!!! Nichts!

• Ines (8/5): - Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage perfekt. Die Anlage lässt der Natur Raum und so kann man die Zeit im Schatten großer Bäume verbringen oder auch auf einer Liege in der Sonne. Es gibt ausreichend Sitzplätze, Hängematten und Liegen, so daß jeder seine Lieblingsplätze finden kann. Die Küche ist sehr gut.

• Frederike (10/5): Sehr entspannte Urlaubsatmosphäre zum Runterkommen und Entspannen - Die Lage der Unterkunft ist ein Traum: man geht nur wenige Schritte vom Zimmer durch den Sand und unter den Palmen entlang bis zum Meer. Eine herrliche, liebevoll gestaltete Anlage mit unglaublich freundlichem und zuvorkommendem Personal. Das Restaurant, in dem man wunderbar zu Mittag und zu Abend essen kann (außerdem gibt’s herausragende Cocktails!), kann ich sehr empfehlen. Die Küche kann mit dem bekannten „The Rocks“ allemal mithalten! Danke, liebe Claudia und Team, für die 5 herrlich erholsamen Tage!

• Lucian (10/5): Such a tranquil and tasteful place! - 5-nights stay in this perfect place to chill and relax, with plenty of options on the beach to hide in the shade from the cruel equatorial sun (beach beds, hammocks etc.). It was our choice to go lazy all the way, but perhaps next time (there's definitely going to be a next time) we're gonna take advantage of the kitesurf school next door or the excursions (ie. snorkeling trips) on offer - maybe it's also possible to take some fishing trip? Cocktails are great and all the food we had was super tasty (as I'm writing this, I'm drooling at the thought of those seafood soups). The staff is very attentive and warm. Takes ~24 hours for us to get there, I wish this place was closer to home.

Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä. Oli hauskaa seurata rannan leijasurffausta. Ravintolan tarjonta oli monipuolinen. Sain paremman bungalovin veloituksetta.

• Aundrea (10/5): A real gem - amazing staff, food and accomodation. - What a surprise this hidden paradise turned out to be! A very special place in Zanzibar where we experienced authentic friendliness and warm hospitality. We ate all our meals there and everything was prepared with great care to details. The breakfast was exceptional. We tried almost everything and our favourite was the advocados and feta on toast with eggs. Such friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. We would have liked to stay longer but it was fully booked...understandably! Nothing:)

• Carolin (10/5): Traumhafte Unterkunft - Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt! Claudia ist unglaublich nett und führt die Unterkunft mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Besonders gut hat uns auch gefallen, wie viel Wert hier auf Nachhaltigkeit gelegt wird Das gesamte Team ist sehr aufmerksam und stets darum bemüht, dass man sich wohlfühlt. Das Restaurant ist ein absolutes Highlight: Das Essen war außergewöhnlich gut, das Frühstück sehr abwechslungsreich und die Cocktails einfach traumhaft. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können die Unterkunft wärmstens weiterempfehlen! Wegen der stark ausgeprägt Gezeiten und des vielen Seegras ist das Meer nicht gut zum Schwimmen geeignet.

• Nicole (10/5): - Ein wunderschöner Ort mit besonderen Vibes. Ich bin schon das dritte Mal hier und fühl mich immer willkommen. Das Personal ist super freundlich und scherzt auch gern mit einem. Das Essen ist immer mega lecker und hebt sich deutlich von anderen Lokalen ab. Ebbe und Flut sind für mich nicht störend, da man jederzeit in Nachbarresorts auch mal den Pool nutzen kann. Die Zimmer sind sauber, jedes hat seinen eigenen Flair und das Housekeeping sorgt für liebevoll gestaltete Betten, frische Handtücher und Wasser.
• Sonja (10/5): Einfach nur traumhaft - Es war ein traumhafter Aufenthalt. Der Ausblick von meinem Zimmer war einfach nur grandios. Die ganze Anlage lädt zum entspannen ein. Das Essen war dazu noch richtig lecker und die Getränke waren kalt und haben ebenfalls geschmeckt. WLAN gab es überall. An der Stelle möchte ich besonders das Personal hervorheben. Ich wurde warm und herzlich empfangen. Alle haben sich toll um mich gekümmert. Ein aufmerksamer, herzlicher Service. Ich habe mich jede Minute willkommen gefühlt. Danke dafür. Ich freue mich jetzt schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch!
• Boris (9/5): Ich komme gerne wieder! - Sehr schöne Lage am Strand. Die Bungalows sind einfach ausgestattet, aber traumhaft schön gelegen unter Palmen direkt am Strand. Man kann vom Bungalow das Meer sehen. Herrlich! Das Essen ist lecker, einzig das Frühstück könnte etwas üppiger ausfallen (vor allem der Obstteller). Das Abendessen war wunderbar und lecker. Freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal.

La gentillesse de l'ensemble du personnel nous a fait vivre des vacances de rêve. Les repas sont succulents ,la soirée buffet et live musique inoubliable. • Arno (6/5): Gut mit Einschränkungen - Sehr schöne Lage am Strand und unter den Palmen. Die deutsche Besitzerin war sehr freundlich und wir konnten auf Wunsch in ein anderes Bungalow umziehen, nachdem uns im ersten Bungalow etwas laut war. Das "Badezimmer mit Toilette" war vom Wohnraum nur durch eine ca. 1,60 m halbhohe Mauer getrennt, wodurch die "Privatsphäre" bei der Nutzung der Toilette und Dusche nur eingeschränkt gegeben war.

• Klaus (10/5): Traumhafte Unterkunft - Ein traumhaftes Quartier, das Schönste, was ich je erlebt habe. So ein bisschen wie früher, hippie- like, sehr freundliches Personal, super Frühstück, tolle Speisekarte und ein Gelände voller Palmen und weißem Sand, der täglich gesäubert wird. Die Hütte mit Meerblick gab mir ein Robinson Crusoe Gefühl, schöner kann man nicht Urlaub machen. Für alle, die sich inmitten des spießig Massentourismus nicht so wohl fühlen, eine absolute Top- Empfehlung. Danke an Claudia, die das Ganze betreibt. Bleibt eurer Linie treu! Die letzten 300m der rumpeligen Anfahrt zum Hotel, für Selbstfahrer eine chte Herausforderung.
• Julian (3/5): - Good location right on the beach Disappointing Stay - Would Not Recommend First, the cleanliness was unacceptable. Our room was dirty, with plenty of hair still in the shower from previous guests. For breakfast we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. When it finally arrived, the portions were disappointingly small. Dinner was overpriced. The final frustration came at checkout. When paying in dollars, we were charged an unfavorable exchange rate plus an additional 5% fee. This resulted in us (2 persons) paying $70 for dinner and two drinks per Person- absolutely unreasonable pricing

• Ludivine (10/5): - Nous avons passé sans doute nos plus belles vacances dans cet hôtel. De petites cabanes pleines de charme, posées directement sur la plage, offrent un cadre intime et authentique au milieu des cocotiers. L’ambiance est apaisante, proche de la nature, et tout est pensé pour se sentir privilégié. Le personnel est remarquable : attentif, accueillant et toujours aux petits soins, mais jamais envahissant. Les excursions proposées sont tout simplement magiques : nager avec des dauphins, faire du snorkeling, déjeuner sur un banc de sable… des souvenirs inoubliables. Le mardi soir, une soirée barbecue est organisée : buffet raffiné à volonté, musique live pleine d’énergie, avec danseurs et contorsionnistes, un vrai moment de fête. La cuisine, au quotidien, est exceptionnelle. On sent qu’elle est préparée avec amour et créativité. Chaque repas fut une découverte, toujours différente, toujours réussie. Mention spéciale aux petits déjeuners pris les pieds dans l’eau : originaux et généreux, bien loin de ce que nous connaissons en France. J’ai adoré les toasts avocat-feta-tomate-oignon-miel, mais aussi les chapatis rolls ou encore les petits déjeuners anglais copieux. Entre excursions intenses et moments de détente absolue dans de magnifiques hamacs et transats en bois, le séjour fut parfaitement équilibré. La plage est calme, sans racolage, et l’atmosphère reste paisible et authentique. En résumé, un séjour parfait que nous recommandons vivement à tous ceux qui cherchent le paradis.

Die Unterkunft ist ein absoluter Traum – sehr gepflegt und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Das Essen war ausgesprochen lecker, und das gesamte Team ist unglaublich herzlich, aufmerksam und stets hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns jederzeit willkommen gefühlt. Die Lage war für uns perfekt: Am Strand genießt man Ruhe und Erholung, und dennoch ist man in wenigen Minuten im lebendigen Paje, wenn man abends ausgehen möchte. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Vielen Dank für diesen tollen Aufenthalt! 🌴✨

• Andrew (10/5): idyllic chill out spot, hakuna matata, - go on, treat yourself! - My wife and I booked 4 nights at Evergreen at the end of a 3 week Tanzanian safari oriented holiday for some "total relaxation" and we found just that. A great deal of thought and effort has been put in by the owners Claudia and Mustafa to create a very informal, friendly, welcoming and relaxed establishment with as much luxury as can reasonably be expected in such a remote, idyllic location. The kitchen/restaurant/bar is very good, well stocked and reasonably priced and was very close to our room. The room itself opened directly onto the white powdery beach with the waters edge around 100m away at high tide. All the staff at Evergreen are exceptionally friendly, welcoming and I have to say exude competence, only once during our stay did any staff member ask our room number when ordering drinks or food, otherwise they simply knew who we were - and the place was fairly busy. ( we didn't actually know our room number and had to physically point to the relevant bungalow as it wasn't marked on the key either - apparently we were in No. 11, as I said relaxed and informal). Oh, I nearly forgot to mention, there was a live reggae band performing on the evening of our arrival (Friday)- what a welcome. Apparently there is also music and a BBQ on Tuesdays which we unfortunately missed as it was our departure day. Our room did not have aircon or a kettle to make drinks in the room - I believe this is due to a limited power supply in such a remote location. A short walk to the bar enabled me to provide my wife's early morning coffee and the breeze from the sea kept the room at a temperature on the high side of comfortable for us. So very minor inconveniences given the overall standard.
• isabelle (10/5): Une structure à taille humaine, avec de très jolis bungalows, décos sympa, directement sur la plage. - Emplacement exceptionnel, sur le sable, direct lagon. Petit déjeuner très agréable. Service toute la journée, carte riche. Donc une très grande liberté de rythme. Plats savoureux et particulièrement bons. Personnel aux petits soins. On vit sur la plage, agréable et eau chaude, baignade et bronzage top. Déco très sympa. proximité activités. Le personnel est tout à fait disponible pour aider à organiser des sorties. Visite ferme d'algues, Paje etc. Les bungalow sont mignons, les corbeaux parlent trois langues: langue corbeau, langue chat et langue chien !!!! Les singes à l'affut essaient de chiper les bananes du petit déjeuner. Structure "familiale" donc contacts très agréables. Les hôtes sont présents et très attentifs. Le temps de service est long. Une fois compris on anticipe les commandes...en précisant l'heure de service souhaitée. Un peu trop de vent en Août... mais celà ne dépend pas de evergreen !

• laura (9/5): Asante Sana!! - Ho solo belle parole per il nostro soggiorno qui. Esperienza fantastica, l'evergreen è veramente una piccola oasi immersa nella natura, Claudia e Mustafa hanno fatto uno splendido lavoro! Avevamo prenotato un bungalow fronte giardino e ci è stato offerto un upgrade gratuito fronte spiaggia, ancora grazie, svegliarsi ogni giorno ammirando l'oceano è meraviglioso. La struttura è immersa nel verde, quindi gli animali sono compagni di viaggio. Vedere le scimmiette così da vicino è stato emozionante. Ed i due cani, Lina e Greeny sono dolcissimi! I bungalow sono spartani ma ben attrezzati, il letto è molto alto e con un baldacchino a zanzariera. Ogni sera se vuoi passano a spruzzare in camera lo spray antizanzare per maggiore protezione. Lo staff è super cordiale, ci siamo sentiti iper coccolati. La cucina è semplicemente buonissima, una qualità mai vista prima in vari hotel (Claudia, se scriverete un libro di ricette per favore mandamene una copia!!), ed ogni giorno il menù varia. Il servizio è vero è un po' lento, ma perchè tutto viene cucinato al momento. C'è anche la possibilità di prenotare prima eventualmente. Per noi non è stato assolutamente un problema, i tempi rilassati in vacanza sono un plus. Un must da provare il polpo e il chapati. La birra viene servita ad una temperatura perfetta! Mi mancherà tantissimo il Monkey Business serale. Che dire, ho solo tristezza che sia finito! Grazie Claudia, Mustafa, Sia, Lina, Aapu, Alawi, Yusuf e tutto il resto dello staff! Niente!

On s est fait avoir par un chauffeur de taxi recommandé par l hotel qui nous a totalement arnaqué pour la visite de jozani forest.Vraiment pas honnête.

• paola (10/5): Beautiful place, incredibile food and wonderful people. - The location is wonderful, quiet and absolutely relaxing. The bungalow where we stayed did not have all the comforts like an hotel room, but we knew what we were doing when we booked here, we wanted to be immerse in the nature and that was exactly what we got, we even had the pleasure to see a little monkey on our balcony one day. All the people working at Evergreen are super polite and available, the way the treated us was unbelievable, it will be very hard to forget them. The beach in front of Evergreen is not crowded like Paje, and on top of that there are very few beach boys, one day we went in Paje and regretted it because we were stopped every 2 minutes by people trying to sell you something, so we decided to come back at Evergreen. Another crazy thing is the food, litterally everything was delicious, and we tried almost the entire menu during our stay. Also we cannot fail to mention Alawi, he will be your point of reference for every tour around the island, we did many tours thanks to him, and he was so sweet to give us gifts the day we left, so we really cannot forget him, and also Yusuf (our driver) which we fell in love with. This place really left something in our heart and in our memories. If we’d ever come back to Zanzibar this is the only place where we’d want to stay. A huge thank you goes also to Claudia and Mustafa, they did a wonderful job at Evergreen you can fell their love for this place, and on top of that they were very helpful. It is impossibile to not drop some tears the day you leave.

• irma (9/5): Maravilla en el paraíso - Muy contentos con Evergreen bungalow, el hotel cumplió con nuestras expectativas, nuestra habitación era una preciosa cabaña con vistas al mar( que nos mejoraron en el hotel), todo el personal encantador y siempre dispuestos a ayudarnos, la comida inmejorable, la mejor que probamos en Tanzania. Es un lugar tranquilo y mágico para los que como nosotros buscan algo especial y alejado de zonas más masificadas, un lugar que tiene mucho encanto y mimo en todos sus detalles. Super recomendable y mil gracias a Claudia y Mustapha por ser tan acogedores. Sin duda un lugar para guardar en la memoria. Gracias!

• Sarah (10/5): A slice of paradise! - Evergreen Bungalows is the most beautiful place on earth. The upper floor beach front bungalows are like staying in a treehouse on the beach. The bed is huge and super comfortable. The balcony overlooking the beach has a daybed, table and a chair. You can walk straight on to the beach. Monkeys jump around in the trees directly outside the balcony. The food is amazing, and an incredible breakfast is included in the price. The beach, although wild and windy when we were there end July/beginning of August is stunning. Absolutely perfect! There was nothing that I didn't like or would change!

Für uns ist auch der Strand von Bjewuu einer der schönsten und wir Können allen die wirklich abschalten möchten das Evergreen nur empfehlen.

• Ruth (9/5): wonderful experience - The beach and the bungalow encouragement are gorgeous, offering wonderful relaxation. The room was spacious with a perfect view straight to the beach. The restaurant offers excellent cocktails and great food, all at affordable prices. I wholeheartedly recommend this week experience! The water pressure in the shower is very low, and i much water accumulates in the bathroom, which takes very long to scrape away because of the floor shape. But neither of these things spoiled or wonderful stay!

Die ganze Anlage ist mit sehr viel Liebe gestaltet worden. Es hat eine ruhige Lage. Alles in allem haben wir wunderschöne 5 Tage hier verbringen dürfen. Wenn wir nochmal nach sansibar reisen, dann auf jedenfall wieder evergreen Bungalows. Absolute 10 von 10 Punkte. Eine Wohlfühloase wie im Traum. Nochmals herzlichen Dank an das ganze Team. Das wir abreisen mussten.
• Matirita (10/5): Exceptionnel - Nous avons particulièrement aimé l'emplacement calme à Bwejuu avec toutefois la possibilité de sortir le soir à Paje (qui est plus animé) en étant à seulement 10min de voiture. Le personnel est accueillant et toujours disponible pour aider, de même pour le service de taxi qui était toujours à l'heure et à un prix juste (un merci tout particulier à Alawi). Mustafa, le co-directeur de l'hôtel, était présent, accessible et soucieux de savoir si le séjour se déroulait bien. La nourriture était excellente et gros coup de cœur pour la décoration de l'hôtel tout en bois qui lui permet de se fondre dans le paysage. Nous avons tout apprécié.
