- Tanguy (3/5): The proximité of a very noisy and busy road…I couldn’t sleep after 5AM - The proximité of a very noisy and busy road… You hear everything through the window, it’s like sleeping on a motorways! I couldn’t sleep after 5AM due to the constant passing of the cars and motorbikes. The lodge is also overpriced.

- Coenraad (8/5): On the river - The accommodation was very nice and well represented with a balcony there was enough room for everyone to be comfortable, 5 people, It was only a sleepover but would recommend anyone to go, the location is very good right on the river with canoes aswell... Swimming pool is great for dip to cool off. Would definitely stay again when in the area A aircon in the unit be an advantage as the fans are very noisy and ineffective

Main bedroom had an electric blanket and 2 bedside lamps wired into one plug with tape wrapped around it. The apartment we were given had a communal area outside our living room affecting our privacy. There is no air con so open windows are a must but, as there is no security, we would have felt vulnerable at night. The towel rail in the bathroom was missing and we were advised it would be fixed ‘tomorrow’. The pool was murky and very small. The accommodation in general was tired and outdated. Very disappointing.

- Alexander (3/5): Billig und nicht zufriedenstellend - Zuvorkommend im Service, wenn man nachgefragt hat Kaputte Türen, kaputte Rollos, Alles die ganze Nacht komplett hell beleuchtet, Kein Feuer(Zeug) für den Gasgrill, zerbrochene und scheppernde Fliesen,… Wir waren zum Glück nur eine Nacht!

Geyser extremely loud and kept awake al night: Floors very dirty, windows and pictures blacked, very basic supply of utensils and cutlery. Place was very unkempt and very little care for customer service.

The unit was very clean and it was a pleasure to stay there. Will go back there. The accommodation is on the mountain side which was gfreat, out of the noise and traffic. Nothing.

- Daniel (3/5): Poor - When we arrived the place was not as we expected I got out of the car and was greeted by the staff the lady took me to our unit and immediately ask her to upgrade me to a better unit which she tried unfortunately all the units were the same I said to her it's OK we will settle for that one the ladies started to make us some sandwiches with coffee and battled with flies my friend and I went to sit on the porch drinking our coffee and that's when this big rat was running across from the porch edge I immediately went on to booking.com and book the place called dunkbeetle in wilderness the rest follows The toilet is so to say in your kitchen

Lack of WiFi, ease of access to the property from the roads and river for potential thieves.

- Johanna (6/5): Pleasant - The location is good, even-though against the road, the cars did not bother is to much. Kids enjoyed the grass and canoe’s on the lake. We tried to braai, but that didn’t really work as the braai grid allowed all the coals to fall through and we unfortunately bothered all the other guests with the smoke. While I did communicate with the manager on whatsapp, we did not see him once during our stay, we did see the owner though, very nice guy.

- Chong (1/5): Very uncomfortable stay. - There is no 2 pins electrical plug. Dirty, kitchen is messy, not clean up and left over from previous guests.
- Greg (1/5): Smoke entered the apartment from the fire pit/braai on the upper balcony - Carbon Monoxide Risk! This place is dangerous, large amounts of smoke entered the apartment we were staying in from the fire pit/braai that was on the upper balcony that was being used by other guests, despite having the windows and doors closed. We felt drowsy and awoke the next day with thumping headaches and our clothes stank from the fumes. We had to cancel our second night and find alternative accommodation. The manager offered a refund for the second night of our stay which has not been paid. UPDATE - I did not complain about the people using the braai, I am South African but I live in Ireland, so your nonsense about not knowing the culture is wrong. No wind was blowing, our windows were closed to minimize noise disruption and the smoke getting in, but smoke dangerously entered the apartment. My clothes stank (which I had to get washed at my own expense) and I had a headache the next morning from inhalation. The smoke was going into the apartment putting my family at risk. This is not about the refund (which you agreed to pay upon our check out and now will not honour), but about the safety of any future guest that stays in this accommodation, it is a matter of time and you wish to ignore this?

- Chmaj (7/5): Nice place with a good price - The view is beautiful. The night was cold, and while there was no heater, the electric heating mattress provided sufficient warmth. Good price. We arrived quite late, and unfortunately, the bed for the 5th person, which was an old sofa, was not prepared and was broken. One of the rooms was near the road, making it a bit noisy.

The chalet had an unforeseen leak, and it was handled professionally, communication was superb. Looking forward to our next stay at Salt Rover Lodge. PS. We were pleasantly surprised at the beauty of the surrounding area at the front of the unit and we were pleased with the facilities for the price. For the price I wasn't expecting heaters but it was so bitterly cold that a heater would have helped. The washing line at the entrance where we drive in didn't look so inviting...... perhaps the lines could be moved elsewhere so it's not the first thing you see when you drive in.

- Gerda (10/5): Great stay - Lovely, clean and spacious units. Stayed on 2 different occasions in 2 different units. 2 Bathrooms a bonus. Great view. Staff is fabulous, rinsed our car in the morning to make sure that the windows were clean. Garden is very well kept. The road along side is very busy early morning and early evening.
