• citrus005 (4/5): - This is a basic "hotel". I was staying on the 5th floor and it does not have an elevator. My room had some wallpaper severely peeling in a top corner and the barhroom was a little dirty. If you just need a place to stay and don't care too much about the conditions, the price is right.

First I got room at 5 th floor and in that case I had problem with internet and also building has no elevator so that was bad side. Later I got room at 3th floor and everything was okay. Super location staff okay. I extend my staying for 8 nights more.

• Verified traveler (8/5): budget hotel in a good location - We had booked basic en suite rooms and that is what we got. I would upgrade to a more comfortable room in future, one which included windows, in order to make the room less stuffy.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Dissapointing hotel experience - On two instances the power cut out which resulted in cold showers that night. The bathroom area itself was quite tatty and one of the extractors of our two rooms was non-functional for our entire stay. Also, the breakfast options were limited and disappointing.

• adam (10/5): Brilliant, the only place to stsy - I got to Ho Chi Minh city and was dropped off at his place, I was greeted brilliantly, with smiling faces and great speed in being checked in. Everymornibgb i had breakfast and was good, mostly a veriation on eggs but still good and the bread very fresh. Coffee and juice was self serving and with that sweet milk was always on the table a touch that I am very in favour of. The room was clean, very clean with comfort everywhere and fresh towels. Not too hot or cold and cosy. I advice anyone and everyone to stay here.

• Rob (8/5): good hotel - colourfull area!!! - in the middle of the tourist area - many prostitutes, hostess bars/beer om, so if you have a family/wife perhaps not the best area, however very close to all amenities, restaurants, bars and the excellent Thai Binh market for breakfast . Very helpful and happy staff - Van and Tien in particular has excellent English and was able to book car and motorbike taxis. Everthing works - lights, air con, fans etc and good wi fi unlike many mini hotels in this category. recommended !!! BTW don't book basic room as it has no windows - had to upgrade at 2 usd a night !
• Robyn (8/5): Comfortable well located hotel. - This hotel is located centrally and markets as restaurants are very handy. A little hard to find, as it is down an alley. Rooms are small but comfortable. Breakfast is adequate, but this he'll is well priced for its location and comfort.

• TD (2/5): Terrible business practice! - I wished I could give negative reviews. I arrived in the afternoon on the booking day after a long trip in center Vietnam and hoped that the room was ready and I would be able to rest. However, when I arrived, the hotel told me that my room had some water leak and they were not able to let me stay. So they offered me an "equivalent" room from their "partner hotel" nearby. I questioned them why they never contacted me about the problem, neither through email nor phone and they said they did not have my contact through Agoda. This was a terrible lie because when I walked in, I saw my email on their PC's screen as they pulled up my reservation. And also, I had the reservation through hotels.com, not Agoda. I told the guy about it but he denied that information. When they took me to the "equivalent room", it was actually a tiny room in a messy family where 1st floor was their dining room and kitchen and 2nd floor was their kids' room with all kind of noise and mess. The room was really old with a smell of moss. Especially the minibar was covered with lots of yellow stains. It was too terrible that I decided to leave and look for another place after staying there for only few hours. When I walked around the area and checked other hotels, they all told me that they had been overbooked, and last minute prices had gone up few times. So my guess is the leaking problem was just a lie, and the real reason was they sold my room to some last minute offer with higher price.

Easy to pick up local buses, taxi (cheap as chips) and airport. Easy to get to sights either walking or by taxi. Good value for money. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The desk clerks speak excellent English and will help you with tour and transportation arrangements. The main problem is that there is no elevator, so avoid the rooms on the 4th and 5th floors, which are actually the 6th and 7th levels up from the ground.

No elevator which is an issue when you are on the 7th floor. hot water runs some of the time. My room has only inside window. No table to type at if you so desire. Aircon patchy - batteries died - and hard to control.

• Richard (8/5): Small hotel in the heart of manic Saigon - The helpfulness of the staff made up for the cramped conditions of the room at this moderately priced hotel. Although the breakfast was basic the coffee and strawberry jam more than made up for it, although my friend thought the coffee unpalatable. The night life and massage parlours were all that i had hoped for and i will return here again in the near future.
• lim (8/5): Nice hotel . Great staff. Budget. Clean room - This is a great budget hotel for family. It does not have any facilities in the hotel. It provide simple food for breadfast. The breakfast only instant noodle n egg or bread and egg. Comes with tea or coffee n banana. Very budget n simple breadfast. The location is not near central area but it is 15 mins walk to ben thanh market n neighborhood market. The staff here is very helpful n nice . Very xlean room and comfortavle.Very good point. For family with kids or old folks is good but it does not have window view or lift. The surrounding have many pub and massage parlour. There are a lot of small shops selling good n cheap clothes. I love this place a lot and i will sure come again.

• Leon (8/5): Hotel located at good location with helpful staff - The hotel at good location in district 1. Convenient to walk around to find food, shopping and even places of intetest. The place is also safe. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly. When we asked for recommendation for food and tour, they took efforts to provide information to us. The breakfast is simple but nice. The cleanliness is acceptable. With the price we paid, it is definitely worthy. My wife and I have hood and pleasant experience.
• Ayden (10/5): Phan Lam II: Great Place, Great People! - I have stayed at the Pham Lan II many times over the years. I really enjoy the friendly atmosphere and kind, helpful people that work at the hotel. It is very comfortable and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Vietnam.
• Chad (8/5): Cheap hotel in good location - We actually got upgraded to a triple and a family room from a triple and a double. The location of the hotel is really good as there are also many other hotels on the same street. It is in a walkable distance to the market. The staff booked a taxi to the airport for us alhough we should have got the taxi ourselves because the one they gave us is not from a good taxi company.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Stay in HCMC - I booked my room at Phan Lan 2 because of the price and location and was pleased with my decision. Just tucked far enough away off the main strip that noise was not a problem at night, but only a block walk to get right into the heart of it. Bars and food are abundant and the bus station is under a 5 min walk which makes tours and sightseeing super easy. The staff at Phan Lan 2 are amazing! Great English and always willing to help with anything you may need from tours, to laundry, to money exchange.

In a little ally off of the Main Street it's a quiet location, but still central to everything a tourist wants to see in Ho Chi Minh. The staff were all so friendly and very accommodating when my friend and I wanted to extend our stay two nights. The AC in the room was our saviour, and the cleanliness of the beds/washrooms made the rooms very comfortable. The only downside was being on the 5th floor and having to climb the stairs but as we are young it was not a problem - but if it would be for you just ask for a lower level! Would 100% recommend this hotel, and I will definitely come back.

They went out of their way to help us during our stay and even booked our bus to Can Tho for us. In a great location - on a quiet side street which is just beside the backpacker area. They also provide an excellent breakfast!!

• Nicole (8/5): Great Value - Right in the midst of the backpackers district but in a quiet alley of hostels, guesthouses and hotels. Within a 20 minute walk from most of the museums and tourist spots. Simple but filling and good tasting breakfast in the morning included. Staff helpful when needing laundry services, tax and tour arrangements...all for a little more than making your own arrangements. AC worked very well. Room was clean. The bed was a bit too firm. The view from my window was a moldy looking side of a building, best to keep the drapes closed.
• Lewis (8/5): Good hotel in great central location. - This hotel is a great place to stay. The staff are lovely and the breakfast is pretty decent! We stayed for 2 nights in one of the smaller rooms, it is quite small but we were out most of the day and only rested here. The drinks at the hotel are very reasonable and the staff are very helpful. I would definitely stop here again! The hotel is perfect for booking and catching the Mekong Express to Cambodia as the office is nearby.
