We had several guests join us there, and the experience was consistently impressive. The selection of food and beverages was excellent, offering both quality and variety that exceeded our expectations. It served as the perfect backdrop for our group to relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the hotel. EPISODE Daan has mastered the balance of modern style and traditional hospitality. - N779LQjv (10/5): Great location for MRT access - Neat hotel, clean and well managed with helpful staff that spoke English well. Great location within walking distance to MRT, restaurants, bars, and a major mall. I had an upgraded room with a tub/shower with stairs leading into it that looks oled great but will be difficult for someone older to use. The happy hour is also nice. They have snacks and drinks you can pick up free any time. If you take the included breakfast it is at Texas Roadhouse on 1st floor which is good but limited options if you stay there a few days.

You stop by the side of the road, but at least there’s a bellboy Lobby is dark , small and incorprates the lounge bar. Check in is DYI at a booth, but the staff can assist The room is small but designed well. The shower is sunken that doubles as a bathtub, smart. No CNN on the telly though Breakfast is at the texas roadhouse downstairs. Limited options, ok quality. Suffucient for small eaters like me, probably not for fussy or large eaters Gym is tiny with only 2 treadmills and some machines Location is good with MRT 1-2 blocks away plus the large Sogo Da an
- ziyunx2023 (10/5): Great location, amazing service, and great for younger travelers. - I had a great time staying here at the Episode DaAn Taipei. I want to give shoutouts to Austin, Anne and Jocelyn. They are amazing and incredibly helpful with all of my needs. I was able to get my massage and eyelashes extensions reservations sorted thanks to Anne. Austin is super knowledgeable with the surrounding areas, and he was really helpful with travel suggestions ;) Jocelyn helped me with getting in contact with a massage place. The location of the hotel is amazing. It’s close to buses and many tourist sites by foot. There are many amazing food places nearby as well. I will comeback here the next time in Taipei. The only con I can think of is the door lock thingy that sticks out when the door is unlocked. It’s very easy for us to bump into it. However that’s really not a big deal if anything.

The staff were very efficient and addressed all our requests. The water dispenser near the elevator is a great amenity. The cocktail hour was a plus and we enjoyed listening to the band. The hotel has a really good retro vibe. The list of restos, bars and coffee shops recommended by Candy were spot on and contributed to our memorable stay.

Everywhere you look, there are thoughtful music-inspired details-Taiwanese pop song lyrics on mirrors, posters on the walls, and vinyl records (黑膠碟) used as décor. It feels creative, playful, and very cool without being over the top. The vibe of the hotel is warm and welcoming, and the design really makes it stand out from typical business hotels. You can tell a lot of care went into creating an immersive music environment. A special shoutout to Anne at the reception-her English is perfect, and her service was truly outstanding. From the moment we arrived, she gave us such a warm welcome and explained everything with genuine enthusiasm, which immediately set the tone for our stay. However, the breakfast was a waste of money and very lackluster, the room periodically smelled like cigarette smoke when.the HVAC was running, and the complimentary water bottles had this odd oil smell and taste under the seal making them unpalatable. These are things I would expect at a much cheaper tier of hotel. Overall I would not stay here again given these issues.

- holgerb804 (8/5): Stylish, but severely overpriced hotel - Very stylish hotel in a hip Taipei area. Rooms are a good size, have a very cool in-floor bathtub. Japanese-style toilet. Good-size bed. However, the price is very high (Hyatt-style) and while the room is fine, there are some problems with the hotel. There is no proper reception, rather, it is integrated into a 'social space' with staff more responsible for the space than reception. As a result, one feels underapprecited as a guest. Also, there is a steak restaurant downstairs, which supposedly functions as a breakfast place as well, but no buffet, no vegetarian options. Given the very high prize, I will not return.

Your boutique hotel is very charming, and the lobby where most of the activities took place felt warm and relaxing, especially during Jazz Night. The service was great, and Jocelyn in particular was very friendly and efficient from the moment we checked in. We only want to mention one issue. On the morning of our second day, a bad odor came from the bathroom pipes. We aired the room twice, but unfortunately the smell remained throughout the night. We’ll definitely visit again, but we hope the odor issue can be checked and improved. Thank you.

The value was incredible — easily one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed in. The layout and vibe were unique and modern, with a cool boutique feel and music-inspired design touches throughout. The hidden glass doors leading to the rooms were such a fun surprise. Loved the high ceilings and sleek finishes — everything just felt high-end yet comfortable. My favorite part? The shower setup 😜 — full glass and beautifully designed. Also appreciated the fast Wi-Fi and smart TV with easy YouTube and Netflix access. The location was perfect — right off the Banana Line (MRT), making it super convenient to get anywhere in the city. There were tons of food options nearby, and even a Texas Roadhouse downstairs (which made me laugh since that’s from our home state, though we didn’t end up going). I actually enjoyed it so much that I booked another night here on my way back. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Taipei!

The rooms are comfortable and beautifully appointed with great air filtration, filtered water dispensers on all floors, gym, happy hour, music and so on. Special shout out to Ana who was front of house during our entire stay. She was so helpful, and welcoming to us. Hyatt brand is lucky to have such a polished professional under their employ. Highly recommended, we'd stay here again, absolutely.

- Paradise38288347225 (4/5): Disappointed - When I arrived at the hotel at 11 p.m., there was no receptionist on the first floor, and I had no idea how to check in, which made me feel very lost. I later found out that the reception was on the fifth floor. The staff also didn’t provide any information about breakfast service. The room key card automatically locked after the checkout time (12 p.m.), so when I went back to my room at 12:05 p.m. to get my luggage, I couldn’t get in and had to contact the hotel staff for help opening the door. The room didn’t have any clothes hooks, which was very inconvenient. Overall, this hotel is only suitable for a 3-star rating.

The staffs are attentive and tried the best to speed up the check in and offer earlier check in to the rooms. The room is cozy, clean and spacious enough to open all three luggages at a time! Breakfast portion is SO generous and also delicious ! I would love to stay here again for my next Taipei trip.

Sophisticated without the pretentiousness. 5 minutes from the Zhongxiao Fuxing station and up an elevator, you step into a lobby that’s part jazz bar, part cafe, part guest check in, and it somehow just works. Don’t worry about “finding” the front desk - the staff spots you the moment you walk in, luggage in hand, and guides you over with a warmth that sets the tone for the rest of your stay. There’s a wall filled with vinyl records and books, charming furniture that invites conversations or silence, with ambient lighting that changes by the hour. The vibes are immaculate. The room? A thoughtful blend of retro charm and modern comfort. There’s a fun bubble fur throw, cute ceramic mugs, moody warm ambient lighting that still lets you see, and an endearing and vintage CD player that actually plays music. By far, the best part is the balcony rainfall shower with a sunken tub. The shower room doubles as an onsen with a floor to ceiling view that I’d pay for. Even the brushed gold fixtures (which could’ve looked tacky) felt perfectly in place. Did we mention the MALIN+GOETZ toiletries? There’s MALIN+GOETZ toiletries. Now there is one oddball detail: the Texas Roadhouse on the first floor. For any Hyatt globalists, this is where you get your complimentary breakfast. Don’t get me wrong, while I do enjoy Texas Roadhouse, it just felt jarring to go from a mellow ‘80s jazz lounge to a ’90s all American saloon steakhouse. You’re also eating Western food in an Eastern food capital. I’m sure this was one of those things the hotel designers just had to sigh and compromise on. Still, that’s a small wrinkle in an otherwise outstanding experience. We loved stepping out into Daan’s maze of local eateries and speakeasy bars. We loved returning to a hotel lobby, unsure if we’ll find a cafe with coffee and books, or a lounge with cocktails and live music. We loved ending every night in Taipei in our private little onsen in the sky. Hyatt, if you’re reading this - give whoever designed this place a raise, and give me their contact info.

- Ninjaroll (10/5): My new go-to hotel in Taipei - Top-tier hotel and service. Episode has a fantastic vibe which you can see in the interiors of the room and hotel in general. Facilities were great, location is also good, and the staff are very attentive and responsive. I also appreciate the thoughtful details in the room such as the beauty mask, CD player/bluetooth speaker, well-designed notepad, fluffy throw blanket, and many others. I enjoyed my stay a lot and would definitely stay here again.

It was my first time both at this hotel and in this part of Taiwan, and I was pleasantly surprised. The location is super convenient—right in the heart of the city, with easy access to attractions via metro or Uber. The hotel’s Chinese music theme was a delightful touch. We recognized almost every song playing throughout our stay, which made it feel extra special. Highly recommended for music lovers! A big shoutout to Hana at check-in—she gave us the warmest welcome and even surprised my boyfriend with a birthday song with the card from Candice. Such a sweet gesture! And huge thanks to Austin, who went above and beyond to help us find a bar showing the football match my boyfriend didn’t want to miss. All in all, a lovely stay. I’d definitely come back again!
- geenies (10/5): Good Stay with Outstanding Service Recovery - My wife and I recently stayed at EPISODE by JdV in Taipei for the first time, and overall had a good stay despite a few areas that could use improvement. The Issue: Upon returning to the room on the second day after the room was serviced, we discovered a cleaning towel left in our toilet - something I've never encountered in any hotel before. While this was quite shocking and disappointing, I understand housekeeping may be new, but it was still quite a surprise. Exceptional Service Recovery: When I reported the matter to the front desk, Kimberly Mar, the immediately stepped in to address the situation. Her response was swift and professional - she not only offered a generous compensation with complimentary drinks but also waived our prior orders. Her quick action and genuine concern showed that the hotel takes these matters seriously, which I greatly appreciated. The Positives: This was our first experience with the EPISODE by JdV concept, and we were pleasantly surprised by the music-oriented theme throughout the property. The "lounge" (essentially the lobby area) has an absolutely amazing vibe. We particularly enjoyed the happy hour session, which honestly exceeded many other Hyatt lounge experiences we've had. The sound system is excellent, and the carefully curated music selection really makes a significant difference in creating the atmosphere. Areas for Improvement: The shower could use some attention - the water pressure is quite weak, which was disappointing. Additionally, the toggle mechanism between the handheld and overhead shower heads is confusing. Rather than a simple switch, it's a knob that turns in a full circle with no clear endpoint, resulting in varying pressure between the two heads instead of a clean transition from one to the other. Overall: Despite the housekeeping oversight and shower issues, this was a good stay thanks to the outstanding service recovery and the unique, vibrant atmosphere of the hotel. The music concept is well-executed and creates a distinctive experience that sets this property apart. Would I return? Yes, especially given how professionally the issue was handled and the excellent lounge experience.

We came downstairs for our complimentary coffee and were immediately greeted by Anne and asked us what coffee we would like. The coffee she made was spectacular! She helped my husband and I take some photos on my phone and even offered to help us take a Polaroid on their camera. She also gave us a little history about the hotel which was a plus. Our stay here was here was already awesome but she made it amazing!

Although , I'm not sure if this hotel is suitable for family with young children. We booked the room with bunkbeds, 4 people occupancy, but there is not 1 luggage rack. Hence, we have to lay everything on the floors, hence, no space to walk. There was a very small coffee stall on the ground floor and a Texas Roadhouse which serve overpriced set breakfast. It was raining entire 2 days we were there, so getting good breakfast was quite tricky. We don't mind paying more, so we wish there were more options inside the building.

The voucher for complimentary drinks and snacks was a fantastic and genuinely valuable perk that made us feel truly appreciated. It’s clear this hotel values loyalty. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and well-managed. The location is unbeatable—just a short 3-5 minute walk to the nearest MRT station and major department stores, with plenty of convenience stores and excellent restaurants right on the doorstep. It’s the perfect base for exploring Taipei. What impressed us most was the hotel's attention to detail. I had read previous guest feedback about a lack of bins, and it was great to see they had listened and added another one to the room. It’s this responsiveness that truly sets a great hotel apart. If you're looking for a hotel with impeccable service, fantastic elite recognition, and a perfect location, look no further. We cannot recommend EPISODE Daan Taipei highly enough!

From check-in to checkout, I felt well taken care of, and every request was handled with a smile. Housekeeping was prompt and professional, and the front desk went above and beyond. Notably, Sean, Candice, Natasha, and Cindy were all wonderful. That said, the noise insulation left a lot to be desired. I could clearly hear conversations and other activities from the hallway and even the coughing and sneezing from the rooms next door. It made it difficult to relax or sleep soundly at times, which was disappointing considering how great everything else was. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re a deep sleeper or traveling with earplugs (which interesting the hotel provides upon arrival). The exceptional service made up for the noise—almost.

Every last thing was perfect from the happy hour in the lounge to being upgraded to the top floor with a shower and bath experience overlooking the city. You can’t go wrong with this amazing hotel. Romantic. Not a family spot though. Highly recommend and will definitely come back and stay here again if able. Staff is incredible and the amenities by the bucketful. Quirky and fun decorations and effects. Located from the fifth floor up to the 15th floor of a building right near a local train station, good location near the 101 and fun things to do all around. I love this hotel! Can’t wait to return.

- 789wenc (10/5): Stay experiences - The transportation is very convenient, and the happy hour is pretty good. When we checked in, there happened to be an event going on in the lobby. It was actually quite noisy and not very friendly for guests checking in. It's made it hard to use the lobby space properly. Fortunately, Austin had informed us in advance that events only take place on Fridays and Saturdays. The check-in process was also quick and professional—he made sure I could get to my room and rest as soon as possible, which was really thoughtful! In the future, I might try to avoid staying during event days?!
