Está retirado y en la mera naturaleza, es como para alguien que quiere estar solo ya que está retirado de la playa. El baño estaba en la parte de atrás, afuera de la recámara en los arbustos, no lo recomiendo. No me quisieron devolver las 2 noches que pagué.

- Alexander (10/5): - This property was smack in the middle of the jungle with the most amazing views and passive environmental architecture. If you want a place that feels nice, comfortable, surrounded by the local community, and enjoy a hippie beach vibe, this hotel is for you. There’s lots of walking, but they can easily call cabs for you. The roads surrounding the property into town feel almost like a permanent Shakedown Street market at a Gratefu Dead show, but with the best tamales, mezcal, and ceviche of your life. Also, be aware there can be lots of little visitors in and around the rooms, but the staff came immediately and was happy to help. The view from the infinity pool is one of the must stunning things I’ve ever seen!

- Adrea (8/5): - Definitely, a beautiful property up high in the trees. This makes for very beautiful pictures! For convenience, there is a restaurant on site. They also provided a very large bottle of fresh water. The only two major issues, are that the apartment is uphill from the main beach street on a dirt road and when you reach your location there are 148 steps to our apartment. This wasn’t mentioned, and being 50 in the heat of the day, this was definitely a constant work-out. In fact, we extended our trip, but chose a hotel that was on the main road, as we were done with the constant uphill climb. Someone with limitations would not be able to handle it. It should be specified. Also, the bug issue is REAL. They do leave a bottle of Scorpion RAID in your apartment to spray, but if you do not want that smell or chemical in your room you will be dealing with literally hundreds of ants and bugs of all sorts all around you when you sleep, since it is not properly sealed around the perimeter of the building. Otherwise, a very beautiful tropical, natural and wild destination.
- Catherine (10/5): - We stayed in the circular cabin and found it to be a little gem! Exactly what we were looking for; quiet, simple and beautiful. The property is full of interesting art and has an incredible view of the ocean. You should know there are about 150 steps up to get to the cabins and about a 10 minute walk to the main streets of Mazunte for shops and restaurants, but it’s well worth it. We would definitely stay here again.

- Katolen (10/5): - Stunning view and sunsets, sound of ocean waves are heard morning through night- open room casa, close to town - if you are fit and love stairs, the walk is 7 minutes from the main street of town. We encountered a sweet, hungry black and orange kitty who made herself at home in our casa for the week. I hope others continue to purchase cat food for her as she is a gem. Excellent accommodations, obviously designed and built by a detailed oriented individual, we will definitely return.
- Emiliano (8/5): Excelente lugar para descansar! - En general la experiencia fue muy buena, excepto por algunos detalles que podrían hacer que la experiencia fuera perfecta. No hubo agua caliente dos días, se lo comentamos a la encargada y nos respondía que sí salía pero había que esperar, ya al 3er día de comentarle ya dijo que es porque se le había acabado el gas. Pero eso lo podría haber verificado desde el 1er día. No tiene servicio de restaurante como tal, sí de desayunos pero pocas opciones. No tenían café y al 3er día se le terminaron los insumos para hacer chilaquiles. Y las comidas hay que avisar por la mañana. El lugar es muy tranquilo y es para irse a relajar de preferencia en pareja. No es apto para gente mayor, gente con problemas de movilidad, y cero apto para niños.

- Horacio Vásquez (8/5): - El lugar está increíble. Con vista y arquitectura hermosas. El acceso es muy complicado para personas con dificultades de movilidad ya que hay que subir alrededor de 170 escalones para llegar al lobby. No hay opciones para personas en sillas de ruedas. El personal es muy atento. Hay que ir preparados ya que al estar ubicado en medio de la selva, es imposible mantener hormigas y otros insectos fuera de los cuartos. De menos en el nuestro siempre los hubieron.
- Eduardo (8/5): - Las instalaciones son muy bonitas si buscas algo ecológico y estar en contacto con la naturaleza, tiene una hermosa vista a playa Mermejita, es un lugar para descansar y desconectarte del mundo, no alcanza a llegar la señal para navegar en internet o realizar algunas llamadas. Hay que tener cuidado con los insectos que entran a la habitación ya que no está completamente cerrada, y el acceso al hotel es un poco difícil ya que el camino es de terracería.

- Barry (8/5): Absolutely stunning view but the steps! - It’s hard to review this hotel as there were a few issues out of their control (the road to hotel was effectively washed away because of heavy rain). On the positive the room and view were stunning, the shower was more style over function but it was very stylish. On the negative, it’s badly signposted from the road and it’s quite a climb up a lot of steps (not for those with heavy suitcases or not fit and able), realistically if you want to be eating or going out in Mazunte it’s a bit of hike back from the town.

- GERARDO (6/5): Fin de semana en Mazunte - El lugar es muy bonito y si te gustan los eco hoteles, es perfecto, considero que el tema de las hormigas en exceso en las habitaciones es un problema que deben solucionar, el personal de preocupo de la situación y proporcionó insecticida pero deberían cerrar bien las ventanas y mosquiteros pues resulta bastante incómodo. Los alimentos son de buena calidad y el precio es justo. La limpieza de la habitación es buena y su compromiso con el medio ambiente hace que no te cambien las toallas diario. Hay que considerar que no hay aire acondicionado, no tiene tele ni nevera, al terminar de subir los bastantes escalones sería bueno que dieran una bebida de cortesia.

- Kurt (10/5): Privacy with whitewater ocean views - At the top of the 160-step winding stairway thru sub-tropical rain forest lies an amazing habitation with magnificent whitewater views. The beautiful complex of 6 separate cabanas was artfully designed and constructed by the architect-owner. Enjoy the birdsongs from your private patio overlooking the forest/ocean, or cool off in the infinity pool overlooking the waves. Staff was attentive and served us the best huevos a la Mexicana and espresso cafes of our entire Oaxaca trip.

- Jesus Emmanuel (10/5): - Mi pareja y yo la pasamos muy agusto, es un lugar muy tranquilo donde se puede disfrutar de los sonidos de la montaña y del mar, el personal muy atento, si conocen a Magdalena se encariñarán de ella, muy atenta y siempre con una sonrisa y eso volvió muy grata la estancia, sin duda regresaría al mismo lugar.

- Yessica Yudith (6/5): - El acceso a la casa es peligrosa ya que la calle es terracería de subida, cuando llueve se hace lodo y es aún más peligrosa. Al llegar no se presentó ningún empleado por lo tanto tuvimos que subir las maletas, la entrada son unas escaleras que van hacia la parte más alta de las habitaciones y recepción y las habitaciones están en montaña, poca iluminación en las escaleras al subir, en la alberca y toda el área externa en general, el minisplit no estaba funcionando y nunca solucionaron el problema, nuestra estancia fue con dos abanicos solamente. La recepción y cocina están cerradas de tarde noche, si necesitas alguna bebida o cualquier otra cosa que requieras tienes que bajar e ir a una tienda que está a unos metros al salir de la casa mermejita y es subir nuevamente en terracería. Comida rica, poca variedad, wifi intermitente.

Algunas cosas ya están un poco viejas ó en mal estado, como los ventiladores y los colchones. Llevar botellas de agua al ingresar, ya que no dan botella de agua o café de cortesía. Vicente es parte del personal que nos atendió, muy amable y atento con lo que se le pregunta.

- Cris (8/5): - Great views but you have to hike up 180 rock winding steps to get to the main area. Horrible on hot days. Also they need to install ceiling fans. Rooms have nothing except a bed and a bath. Could use a common area fridge to store food and drinks otherwise you have to get ice daily.
- Jeronimo (6/5): - Considero que los servicios y las descripciones de los servicios que ponen al momento de reservar no se cumplen. En primer lugar, el lugar dice que cuenta con traslados al aeropuerto, asumiendo que son gratis y los cobran como servicio de taxi normal. En segundo lugar, como cualquier otro hotel deberpia de tener por lo menos servicio de cuarto de agua, poner una jarra de agua con un par de vasos en vez de cobrar el agua embotellada. En tercer lugar, el agua de la regadera es inconstante con la temperatura, a ratos sale caliente a ratos sale fría. Por ultimo, no se ofrecen a hacerte el cambio de toallas para la alberca. También hay que hablar de lo bueno... La vista del hotel es impresionante, las camas y las sabanas son muy limpias! Bernardo es muy amable. El mosquitero de la cama cumple con su función.

But when we returned after sunset in our wet swim suits, all our possessions had been crammed into our suitcases, removed from our room and the caretaker was barring our entry. He said someone else had rented the room! So we were out on the street, looking for a room, and the town was completely full! It was a nightmare! AVOID this hotel at all costs.

Tuvimos la mala suerte de que había menos staff del necesario para la operación del hotel, y a pesar de que el staff disponible fue muy amable, no era suficiente, no había manera de conseguir comida, o alguna atención por causa de falta de personal.
- Patricia (6/5): - The view was gorgeous! The room was spacious and there was a good common area and small dipping pool. There are 176 steps to climb to get up to this hotel so if you are a young child or a senior this is not the place for you. You also have to walk up a big hill to get to the steps. the hotel is quiet and off the beaten path of Mazunte but close to town. The hotel is expensive given what you get - no hot water, no breakfast or coffee included. The staff were lovely and very helpful.

The staff is very accommodating (extra pillows, towels) and bottled water is available (for a small cost). The rooms were clean - we had two rooms, I would rate the fist a 3 star room with some minor insect issues - but this is to be expected in a place with semi tropical weather. We also had a resident iguana who was very charming but shy. The second room was 4.5 star - amazing views, cooler than the other (it was on the very top). Downsides: the hotel is off of an unpaved road that leads to the surf beach. Kinda cool but it is a walk uphill to the main beach. From there it was 175 steps to the top to our room - so expect a bit of exercise. Thought there were other guests, each of the bungalows are quite private and away from one another. Other notes: no hot water - but this again was not a problem, I found the temp to be perfect after a day in the sun. No ice or access to refrigeration, but this was again not a problem for us. The poll we did not use; though the view was fantastic, the water was colder than I would have liked and it had a good amount of sand in there. The reward is an amazing view, romantic setting and falling asleep with the sounds of crashing surf. In my opinion - worth it.

- Don (8/5): Wild and beautiful but simple - A kind of glamping experience. This place has real character and a wonderful view of Mermejita beach. The place is stylish but intentionally very simple. We stayed in a circular room overlooking the sea with an outdoor shower and toilet which was exclusive to us. No air-conditioning but the sea breeze with all doors open and an electric fan was OK. You are really amongst nature and there is no real security so it feels a bit like camping. Service is very friendly but not great English. Location is very close to Mermejita beach but about 15 minutes walk up dirt trails to the shops and restaurants of Mazunte. Pro: beautiful view, close to nature, stylish design, swimming pool, sound of sea Con:no air conditioning, not much protection from mosquitos, a bit too close to nature when you have to open the toilet seat to confirm no creatures to bite you, no security, a bit far from Mazunte, strong smell of sewer sometimes wafts into room, a bit too basic living for an extended holiday. This is a great place to stay for a few nights in nature.
- Rodolfo (8/5): Exclusive hotel w 5 rooms only - Since there are only a few rooms available, the hotel stuff is there for you all the time. Beach is not that close and there are 150+ steps to get to main road, then 10 min walk (up and down) to the beach. Not suitable for elderly people or handicaps. Great place to get away. Lovely swimming pool to watch the sunset from. Rooms are spacious and clean, they need bigger fans for summer nights though. Good wifi all over the place.
