• Leni Gavero (10/5): - A quiet and relaxing spot. We stayed for 5 days and had a great experience at this resort. We liked the structure of the rooms because it feels more like home. The staff was absolutely great! Very hardworking, friendly, and always had a smile on their face. Food was also good! I'm glad we got free breakfast every morning. Although it's a 10- to 15-minute walk to Alona beach, their hourly shuttle until 5 PM is convenient and handy when you need a ride. The pool is well maintained. Although some parts of the room (specifically the bathroom) might need some updating, but all in all, our experience staying here was excellent and memorable. We will definitely recommend this resort.

• beingcarlocaquino (8/5): Tranquil Garden Resort - We recently stayed at a hotel I booked through Agoda, opting for the cheapest deal. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I wanted to share my thoughts. The entire property has a nice garden resort vibe, which we really enjoyed. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was huge—definitely a highlight of our stay. However, I do have a few suggestions for improvement: Lighting: The room could benefit from brighter lights. It felt a little dim, especially in the evening. TV Upgrade: The TV in the room was quite old-school. The remote was hard to navigate, and the overall quality felt outdated. It would be great if they upgraded this. Water Bottles: I would love to see them replace the small plastic water bottles with larger, more eco-friendly containers. It's a small change that can make a big difference in terms of sustainability. Mattress: The foam mattress wasn't as comfortable as I hoped. On the positive side, the staff at the kitchen were very attentive, and my parents especially loved the watermelon juice they served. It was refreshing and a nice touch. If you book a room, it includes free breakfast, which offers a good selection and large portions, along with brewed coffee and juice. The only downside was the limited food selection on the menu. While the quality was fine, having more options would be great. The property is located in a residential area, which might not be the most convenient for everyone, but they do offer complimentary transfers from time to time, which is a great perk. Overall, it's not the best value for money, but if you're looking for a relaxing, laid-back stay, I would recommend this property.
• nourdine (8/5): - Hotel très bien super literie chambre spacieuse petit déjeuner très correct le mobilier est un peu vieillot mais ce n’est pas grave le plus c’est l’accueil de cet hôtel et leur disponibilité qui est à souligner vous êtes aux petits soins et en plus avec un large sourire tellement appréciable d’être dans ce lieu que j’ai pris une nuit de plus pour pronlonger mon séjour à Panglao c’est dire J’ai vraiment apprécié c’est une adresse à noter
• John (10/5): Tranquil little paradise - Awesome stay at this friendly little resort. Attentive and very kind staff, highly professional. The whole ambience at the place was so nice, and it could be felt between guests aswell, everyone talking to each other and making new friends. I think that this was because the staff where so friendly; in between d them self and with customers. The area is really nice with the best restaurants and best bar in town just a few steps away. Only downside is the distance to the beach; big resorts have closed of the nearest street. However shuttle works very good for this and makes it comfortable (even if we walked the nice walk most the time)
• 233antoniao (8/5): Small hotel with a nice pool - The rooms are a little bit old and don't come with a kettle and complimentary coffee or tea. Meanwhile, the garden and the pool are great. There are a few choices for breakfast available in the restaurant and you can also dine there. Sadly, there are almost no vegetarian menu items, but the pasta with cheese and the bacon burger were good. There is a hourly shuttle to the Alona Beach with many restaurants there. The hotel can also call you a tuk tuk. The staff was always very friendly and helpful.

• xcitedbouttraveln (8/5): Worth the stay - The rooms here are a 3.5 stars, old, mouldy, crap shower, food average. However the staff are fantastic and the pools amazing. A little distance from town, but an easy 10min walk or 100 peso tok tok ride. Noise restrictions within the hotel themselves would have allowed for a better stay if staff enforced this better (kids in pool at stupid o’clock in morning). Mattress firm, but comfy. Free wifi, TV works with English speaking channels. Overall, The pool and staff are worth the stay here!!!

• paulined867 (10/5): Lovely place to stay - This is a great place. Nice and quiet, tucked away, lovely calm atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. The food is nice and has a good drinks selection and a happy hour. I would like to see the hotel put guests in touch with each other when they're booking tours, if the guests are happy to. A group of us found ourselves on the same tour in different vehicles, this would be especially good for solo travellers.
• Pauline (10/5): Fab find! - This is a great hotel! Secluded and quiet location. Great, friendly staff. Good food, happy hour drinks and a lovely relaxing pool area. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The only thing I would suggest is having a board at reception so people booking trips can say which room/how many people and combine trips - especially good for solo travellers. I booked a countryside tour and bumped into two couples who would have loved to become a group, and for solo travellers it's nice to not do everything solo!

Some shortcomings: the bathroom door rubs, there is not a single towel hook in the bathroom, and part of the road is in very poor condition and turns into a very muddy field when it rains. I know this resort has free shuttle service to Alona Beach and there’s affordable tuk tuk transfer available but walking for the short distances is so flexible and healthy and environmentally friendly option.

• Kwame (4/5): - ***BED BUGS ALERT*** We would love to post a wonderful review for this place because the location and the staff were pretty good. Breakfast was great as well as the scenery. We did occupy two rooms and in the first night our friend found a dead bed bug. Maintenance didn’t seem to take it too seriously and moved her to a different room. Meanwhile in our room unbeknownst to what was going on with our friend we slept through the night. I woke up with about 20 bed big bits in 4 different places. I spoke to the manager and again I don’t think they understand the significance or importance of bed bugs. Unfortunately due to this reason only we could never return.

• Criscosgrave (10/5): Excellent stay, will definitely go back. - My family and I had an amazing stay in the scent of green papaya. It’s 10-15 mins walk to Alona beach although they have free shuttle that goes every hour. The staff are excellent and made our stay extra special- specially Angel in front desk who goes above and beyond helping us in everything we need, Joel and Michael at the bar/ restaurant looked after us from bfast until evening. We also had the most amazing packed bfast when we requested it as we had early island hopping tour. Bfast menu could be improved with regards to variety but still good! Definitely recommended, only con is the bumpy road going to the resort but everything else is excellent. Thank you!

Otherwise the place was great, good breakfast, lovely staff, nice pool, and a regular shuttle to the beach (itself only a 20mn walk).

• 898keaneh (8/5): Great value, great location! - My wife and I stayed at The Scent of Green Papaya Resort from November 5th - 8th and were very happy with our stay! The best part of our stay was the resort staff, who were extremely friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed breakfast, the bar, and found our room spacious & comfortable. The location of the resort is also great, as it’s a short walk to Alona Beach but far enough away to relax in peace & quiet. Lastly, their online presence accurately represents the resort. The Scent of Green Papaya is a true “Hidden Gem” on Panglao!

• junaliny (10/5): RECOMMENDED - their resort if not that extravagant but has the relaxing feeling their staff are always smiling and friendly that you'll not hesitate to ask questions .. the rooms are spacious ... their location are away from the highway thats why i like it because its far from the noise . will really be going back soon hopefully ♥️ also the structure of the rooms have that filipino touch not like the other resort they have such purely modern designs in every room. i love those nipa huts style of touch on the roof and the ceiling on the terrace ♥️ it add more vibrant to the whole resort ♥️♥️♥️

I don't understand why they only have 1 chair inside the room and a very small table that can only fit 1 person (this room can fit up to 3 pax). The towels were gross and the bedsheets look worn out.
• safetravelt (6/5): A Great Place to Celebrate with your Loved Ones - We spent our wedding anniversary in the resort. The staff was accommodating. They granted our request free of charge and were amazed by their efforts. We rented two rooms and they're all clean. The price is very affordable, they offered a free kitchen so you have the options to cook and prepare your own food. They don't have a corkage when you bring some drinks inside the resort.
• Davechoi0728 (10/5): A family friendly resort😊 - If you're looking for a place to stay away from the crowd but still not that far from Alona Beach, this is exactly the place to stay, Scent of Green Papaya Resort. It was an excellent stay, indeed! Our family really did enjoyed staying in this resort. It was a lovely surprise for my sister's birthday upon check in when they left a birthday decor inside the room. There were staff members namely Joel, Philip, Mj and of course John, the Resort Manager who were particularly helpful, accommodating and friendly who go above and beyond to make sure you have the best time. We had encounter a small problem on my mother's room but here comes this guy Joel, who attentively handled our concern with grace and professionalism. Kudos to him👍 We will definitely comeback with my family soon.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Hotell i Panglao - Fint litet hotell med bra service och hjälpsam personal. Bra transport till och från stranden. Sängarna var sköna, städning var bra och poolen ren och fräsch. Det enda nackdelen var att det sprang hundar och katter i hotell området, om man är allergisk och en tupp som gal från klockan 4 på morgonen.
• Rinata (2/5): Worst place - Worst place i have ever been to. We have arrived to green papaya which is an nice looking place but the place is full of rules like you are in jail . No drinking near the pool , no taking the key outside the place , no hanging cloths in balcony . Most order you breakfast choise day before. And an endless list of other rules. At the last nigth we wanted to shower and there wasn't hot water we talk to the staff and the answer was the emplloye already home so shower tommorow. Wish you a lot of good luck if you are staying there.

• Christine (8/5): Skønt skønt resort - Skønt ophold på dette sted i 6 dage. Personalet var meget søde og behjælpelige med alt hvad vi bad om. Maden var super og vi havde en fantastisk King suite med kæmpe terrasse med udsigt over resortet. Det eneste minus var poolen, hvor der var overdrevet meget klor i, så den næsten ikke var til at svømme i længere tid af gangen.
• Jackie (8/5): - This is a small hotel off the beaten track down a rough road in a more residential area. The grounds are very nice and well kept with a big pool. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The food was good and the staff were very accommodating. The only thing they need to change is what they do with the chemicals, or amount of chemicals, they use in the pool. Whatever was in the water really hurt your eyes if you opened them under water and was hard on the skin. The only other thing I would suggest is to have multi use plastic cups for around the pool. This is a very nice little resort.
• Elena (8/5): - Отдыхали семьей, 4 человека, Отель очень уютный, в аутентичном стиле, персонал приветливый и вежливый. В номере все удобно, ничего лишнего, огромное количество каналов ТВ, в принципе неплохой WiFi. Сначала нам не понравилось расположение отеля, находится на какой то грязной улочке среди местных дворов, но как оказалось, это наоборот хорошо- шум улиц и строек не слышен. Самое лучшее это то, что каждые полчаса!!! есть бесплатный трансфер до пляжа Алона! Туда и обратно , с 7-23!! Это просто супер! Молодцы! Из недостатков хочу отметить что при бронировании мы просили 2 номера рядом, чтобы разместиться всей семьей, однако, наше пожелание не было выполнено, жили с детьми напротив в разных корпусах. Из туалета частенько пахнет канализацией, но эта проблема для ЮВ Азии не нова. Гостей в отеле всегда много, одни уезжают, другие приезжают. При этом очень спокойно, тихо, мирно, в отеле вечером дежурит полицейский. В ресторане всегда можно вкусно перекусить, завтраки понравились. В целом, отель с очень приятной атмосферой, мы нисколько не пожалели что остановились именно в нем!
• Verified traveler (8/5): きれいな部屋にプール、満足です - 部屋はとても綺麗で、クーラーに加えてシーリングファンもついていました。 スタッフさんも親切で良かったです。 2日目に朝6時アロナビーチ集合のアイランドホッピングに参加したのですが、 前日にフロントでお弁当の予約をして朝受け取ることができました。 (弁当は3種類から選択でき、私はゆで卵、バナナ、ジュースのタイプにしました） 敷地内のプールも綺麗でゆったり過ごせました。 アロナビーチからホテルまで徒歩で15分近くかかるので人によっては遠く感じるかもしれませんが、 トライシクルを使えば100ペソで送ってもらえました。 おすすめのホテルです！

• Verified traveler (4/5): - Breakfast was only so-so and the dining area very small. Hotel is not near the beach on a back road dirt/gravel alley. Chinese guests at the hotel are loud, noisy, obnoxious. No phone in room. Cleanup did not include new guest soap/shampoo etc. Not a very good place to stay.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was wonderful and assisted us in our needs. The meals were good. the atmosphere was relaxed and very chill. If there was something on the negative side was we couldn't get WiFi in our room. Only outside of it. We told the staff but it wasn't fixed.
• Larry (8/5): - The rooms are clean and spacious. Restaurant food is good. Be aware that the front desk staff will try to charge you 4% extra to use a credit card to settle your account when checking out. This is totally illegal and has been a violation of Philippine law since 2009. Bills paid by cash or credit card are required to be the same under Phillipines law. I will report this violation to the Philippine government when I return to the USA and request that they require hotel management to cease this violation and fine them if they persist in violating Philippine law.
• Walter (10/5): - This is a nice hotel,,Not a 10 minute walk to or from the beach,But the multi cab can take you every 45 minute to the beach area or pick you up. Nice staff.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable hotel & lovely staff, away from crowds - Staff were extremely welcoming and it's great to have access to the pool which many of the guests made full use of. Our room was basic but large, we were made aware that they had no / intermittent hot water which was not too much of a bother given the scorching outdoor temperatures. Breakfast was ordered the day before and a great selection of items and fresh daily juices. Their happy hour is a fantastic deal and you can choose to have lunch / dinner on site or head out to the local area. There is a local shuttle with 2 services every hour, however the town itself is only a 10-15 minute walk away. There are a number of recommended places for food nearby.
• Timothy (8/5): Solo trip on Alona - It was unfortunate that there was construction on the water heater, so I had to take cold showers. It also would've been nice to have shampoo, body wash, and rinse bottles, instead of those little individual packets. Wifi stronger in certain parts, so just experiment in the rooms.The pool is wonderful and a great size. The bar serves up delicious food and the staff treat you like familiar friends. The resort has a friendly shuttle service to the beach which is about a 15 minute walk away.

As reviewed by others, perfect location for serenity, friendly and willing staff to accommodate your needs at all times .we’ll come back again. Note to resort owners: they need to put together funds to cement the short dirt road leading to their property.
• Dicomes (10/5): Very nice hotel quiet area - Very nice hotel in a quiet place...A bit away from main beach areas but for me that's a big plus.. AND they offer a free shuttle to the beach.. So it's a win win situation.. Quiet and you're at the beach in 5 minutes.. Staff is very friendly and accommodating and very courteous.
• kristi (8/5): Quiet resort - Big and clean room with air condition and fan. Provides toiletries and hair dryer. Breakfast is included. Good variety of order to cook breakfast. They provide free shuttle to the main city. The resort is located in very isolated area and only one vehicle can drive through. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The reception desk is a just a table in the restaurant. Very affordable.

• Robert (10/5): Simply the best! - Great hotel with even better staff. Nice deep pool, good restaurant. The place is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Lovely dog Bim-Bim will make your stay even more pleasant. The only downside is the access road but there is a free shuttle bus to the beach.
• Dicomes (8/5): Nice place and quiet location - Stayed with them for 3 nights in August. Room is spacious and beds are comfy. Hotel is a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Alona Beach which is a good thing. However it's only a ten minute walk to the beach do you kinda get best of both worlds. Breakfast is decent. On the things they could improve is to provide water in the rooms... There is a water dispenser at the reception but small bottles in the rooms world be a lot more convenient.
• Clare (8/5): Brilliant place to stay - This was a return visit for me having stayed here 12 months ago. The resort has expanded quite considerably from its original size but the owners have done this sympathetically and in such a way that it has improved the ambience. Rooms are spacious and very clean, the bed is extremely comfortable. There is satellite to with a huge array of channels. The aircon is very effective and not too noisy. There is a nice balcony area to sit outside and enjoy the gardens. As part of the expansion, a second swimming pool has been added and these are very well maintained and kept very clean. There are a choice of breakfasts included in the price and these are of a good quality and cooked freshly for each guest. It is also possible to have lunch and/or dinner at the resort and the chef will adjust the menu to suit dietary requirements. The staff are absolutely amazing and they really add something to your stay with their friendly and welcoming manner. They will go out of their way to assist you, customer service is second to none. The resort is some way from Alona beach but I would argue that with the increasing amount of development nearer to the beach, the location of the resort is perfect - it is close enough to be an easy walk to the bars and the restaurants but far enough away to be a peaceful setting. The resort does run a free shuttle service to and from the beach that runs every 30 minutes for guests. Overall a brilliant place to stay if you are visiting Bohol.
• Sebastian (10/5): Happy guests :) - Everything about our stay at here was nice, except the weather but we can hardly blame Green Papaya for that :P These were the best rooms we stayed in during our 1 month travel throug the Philippines. Two guards were controlling the resort during night time. Our only concern is the location. It is not located excatly where is shows on the map, and the walk to the beach is rather long due to private properties along the coast line, so you have to walk around. Luckily Green Papaya have their own shuttle bus going back and forth to the beach twice every hour.
• Maurice (8/5): Very private in pleasant own grounds - An oasis of pleasant rooms, pool, restaurant and bar surrounded by a wall with one gate to the car parking area that leads to the uninteresting surroundings. About 15 minutes walk to the main beach. Nice place but I suggest putting a small shelf in the shower as no where to put shampoo, soap etc.

• Adin (10/5): Greetings from Philadelphia - My wife and I had an amazing visit at Green Papaya. The service, food, and cleanliness were great. The people made us feel safe and welcome. Any questions we had were answered. Their shuttle van a big help to get around. Highly recommended.
• Lauren (10/5): Lovely Place to Stay Close to the Beach - I stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience! The grounds are really beautiful and serene... comfortable lounges to lie in the sun and refreshing pools to take a dip in. The room was clean and spacious as well as the bathroom. The staff was exceptional- incredibly friendly and happy to help with whatever you need. The breakfast and the food at the restaurant was delicious- especially the homemade ravioli! And if you are going on an early tour, they will even pack up your breakfast for you to go if you let them know the night before. Alona Beach is walking distance but since the property is a little bit hidden and down a dark path at night, they offer a free shuttle which runs every half hour. Or you can get a really cheap taxi if you don't want to wait for the shuttle or walk. I was so happy I booked here instead of one of the larger more expensive resorts because it was such a nice experience staying here and totally a great deal!
• Verified traveler (10/5): Great resort! - Pros: Nice resort located in a quiet area. Clean room. Nice pool. Staff is very friendly and service-minded. Free shuttle bus to Alona Beach and back every half hour. Cons: Laundy service was slow and the clothes had a bad smell of smoke when we got it back like it had been drying in the sun while someone had lit up a campfire nearby. Bad smell from the drain in the shower. Staff removed the smell the first day but it returned on the last day again.

Just off the beaten track but vlise to everywhere. Amazing staff that attend to your every need with a smile. Whether looking to lounge on Alona or go exploring this property is awesome. Shuttle service to Ali a is great. Food is great. Did I mention the awesome people? Will definitely only stay here in Alona going forward. Great for couples and families.

• Oliver (6/5): Good value for money - My wife and I stayed for 7 days. The room and hotel were kept clean, but some of the craftsmenship in the room and along the hotel grounds gave the impression of uncleanliness. The service we received from all the staff was good. They were all very friendly and courteous. However, we did request an airport pickup when we arrived but it never came. We eventually used a cab and got to the hotel for slightly cheaper than what the pickup would have costed. The staff explained that the car was out of service and that they had emailed to notify me, however that email was in response to my email asking where our pickup was. It would have been better to have been notified before I had to ask and find out our ride wasn't coming. The hotel is about a 15-20min walk away from Alona beach so they offer a free shuttle service to and from a drop off spot at the beach. My wife and I normally would walk that distance, but if you aren't used to the heat that distance can feel very far so the shuttle was nice.

• Clare (8/5): Great place to stay - I stayed one week here. Staff are magnificent, really welcoming, friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. The resort is about a 15 - 20 minute walk from the main beach but there is a free tricycle shuttle available to take you anywhere local. It also means that it is far more peaceful which is great for a relaxing stay and there is a really well maintained swimming pool which is great if you don't want to head to a beach. At the time I stayed, the resort had 8 rooms however there is a huge building project underway to build a further 16 rooms, on one or two occasions it did make it noisy but overall it was not too bad.

• N A (10/5): Peace and quiet in this lovely little hotel - I wanted a peaceful and relaxing break after the chaos of Manila. I did a lot of research on hotels in Bohol and this ticked every box for me. I was extremely satisfied and it even surpassed my expectations. This is French owned, small, cosy hotel with about 8 rooms on a back lane 15 mins walk from the action in Alona beach. It's a totally safe area but take a flashlight with you at night as its not well lit. Rooms are great, nice size, spotlessly clean. The doors are double glazed french windows with a fly screen so don't worry about mosquitos coming into your room or about noise from the pool area or from TV's from other rooms. Its a very quiet room and I slept well. TV is a new flat screen good range of cable channels incase you get bored or need to get out of the sun in the afternoons. The pool is well maintained and open all day and night. Please be very, very careful coming out the pool and walking on wet tiles in near the entrance to your room. USE flip-flops provided. My wife slipped over and could have seriously injured herself but she was ok thank god. Wifi is sporadic but thats a local issue and not the hotels' fault. Breakfast is included, pretty simple choice but very tasty and with nice coffee and fresh (not pasteurised ) mango juice. Staff are very attentive and helpful. Melissa was particularly kind and does a great job looking after the guests. Highly recommended!
• Alex (8/5): We miss the hotel more than the beach - Check in was quick. Upon arrival we were in our room in 10 mins though we arrived 3 hrs before check in time. Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. Pool and grounds are well maintained. Great choices with the included breakfast ( french is my fave )The reason I only rated it 4 star is that some people might find the location too remote, which we didn't mind cause it's so quiet at night, away from all the noise at the beach front. They have a shuttle trike which is really helpful on the hottest times of the day. Should one decide to walk, beach is about a 20 min stroll from hotel. Be sure to take the provided flashlight at night since portions of the access alley is unlit though safe .Hotel staff are super helpful ( namely Shiela & Melissa the receptionists, Felipe & Noe the trike drivers ) and the main reason I'll definitely stay at this facility the next time we go back to Panglao. Thanks to the hotel and the staff for making our stay an unforgettable one.

• NAVIT (10/5): Great new place in panglao - The hotel is new and thus well maintained. The stuff is very nice and will take care of everything you need. The hotel is 10-15 min walk from alona beach but they provide free transportation to alona beach. Really good value for money.
• Scuba Scott (10/5): Excellent new resort with a fantastic pool & wifi - A little far from the beach but they offer a complimentary scooter you can use whenever it is available - this is a huge help for those quick atm trips. There is excellent Thai delivery as well!

We stayed there the first day we got to panglao.the room is super nice big, and clean. The breakfast was ok but staffs are always really nice and helpful. It is a little bit walk to the beach, like 10-15 mins, which is acceptable. We wanted to stay there for longer but all rooms were booked. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended.
