• marvin (9/5): Super Hotel und gute Lage! - Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber und komfortabel. Zur Begrüßung haben wir jeder ein Croissant bekommen, was wir sehr nett und aufmerksam fanden. Das einzigst negative fanden wir, dass man nirgends im Hotel rauchen darf - ein bisschen übertrieben. Wir mussten dafür immer aus dem Hotel raus auf die Straße. Direkt ums Eck kommt man zu einem schönen See, bei dem man auch Kajak fahren kann. Also nur zu empfehlen! :) Dass man zum Rauchen jedesmal auf die Straße muss.

The rooms are modern, comfortable and offer all required amenities and the added touches such as pastries left each evening were lovely 😊. Located within walking distance of bars, restaurants and the beautiful manatees we managed to swim with.

• Owen (10/5): Retreat at Crystal Manatee is wonderful we can’t wait to visit again!! - The Retreat at Crystal Manatee was a wonderful place to stay, we even extended another night. Our room was spotlessly clean, great AC super comfy bed and minutes from the main springs we wanted to visit. The gardens on site are stunning. Having dinner beneath the live oaks with swaying Spanish moss made for a lovely dining experience. Stefanie at the front desk is a wealth of knowledge on Crystal River and the surrounding area and gave recommendations on restaurants and places to go for excursions.
• Jennifer (10/5): Stay here if you want a quiet, comfy place to unwind with a personal touch. - The super comfy bed, the afternoon croissants delivered to our room was such a sweet touch, plus it's so quiet at night, we slept so good. The coffee in the morning was very tasty. Stephanie was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable about the area, she's a gem. All of the staff was top notch, we will definitely be back. Das Frühstück war typisch amerikanisch. Jedoch gab es zum Abend immer eine Geschenktüte, in der 2 frische leckere "Gipfeli" waren...toll! Die Tüte hang an der Zimmertür. The surroundings were quet and the parkng safe and nearby. it was a rather cold feeling room, as far as decor. Nothing that reduced comfort, but the esthetics are pretty bare bones

• Kelly (10/5): Gorgeous property in the heart of Crystal River with a comfortable room. - The courtyard was beautiful, with gorgeous trees and thoughtful landscaping. The birds and little lizards seemed to love it as much as we did! We were very close to everything Crystal River has to offer. Housekeeping was great. Croissants hung on the door each night were fun. Also the breakfast offerings were sufficient to grab and go for a snack later. Each room had a fridge and two bottled waters were provided each day. The room was a little sterile compared to the warm welcoming outside. Also we would have liked a few more hooks to hang towels and items, and access to a microwave.

We unfortunately did not get a chance to try the restaurant next-door. The location was great. I wish hotels would put more effort into pillows. They were extremely full making it difficult to get . The breakfast room could’ve been a little bit more inviting and kept up and maybe a few more choices. There was a really odd smell in our room. I don’t know if it was old smoke. I couldn’t quite place it.

• Candi (9/5): The Retreat is delightful and comfortable and the town quieter, but with plenty to do. - Location is quiet. Room was comfortable. Walkable to local spring fed beach park and shopping/restaraunts. Staff was friendly and helpful. We got 4 croissants on the first night ( we had four people), but only received 2 the rest of the stay. But, who is going to complain about free fresh croissants? I would definitely stay at the Retreat again. It was very pleasant all around.

I loved the "Rain" Shower, bed was Very Comfortable, room was exceptional and clean- and the Croissants hanging on your door each night were a Fabulous perk! If I ever stay in Crystal River again, I would definitely stay here!! Nothing not to like!

Evening croissants were great. Loved the private patio ! We would come back if we go to Crystal River again. Only 2 parking spots for3 units at the one side, but generally lot wasn’t far away.

• Dr GT (10/5): A great location, amazing staff, however very soft beds! - The young lady who was working on front desk as fantastic and so helpful. We stayed in two different rooms. The Deluxe King was a great room, with a good bathroom. Great birds and wildlife in the surrounding trees. We loved it here. Great location, lovely pastries, and endless coffee! Loved it! The Queen room was good, however be aware of one or two things. Note: This is VERY different to the Superior King Rooms. The sink is in the bedroom, not the shower room. The beds were very very soft. However the staff were great, and I would stay their again.

Exceptional staff, and perfect location. Enjoyed a luxurious shower after swimming with the manatees. Everything was perfect, no complaints at all.

They try, I give them that. A bit amateurish in some respects. No dual controls for reading lights, basic grocery store breakfast, black coffee only, nice machine but no lattes, restaurant was closed. And the croissants tasted awful.

Although the bathroom was very nice and the shower was very modern, it lacked maintenance to ensure water came out of the shower holes or shower head nozzles, and unfortunately I couldn't have coffee because the machine was broken.

• Mary Beth (9/5): Lovely! Would stay again. Location was fantastic as was the atmosphere and environment. - Such a pretty place. Not your average motel. Coffee was delicious, landscaping beautiful, quiet, crouissants each day were delicious and easy to walk for food, shopping and excercise. The bathroom was tiny.....hardly room for hubby to sit on the toilet without hitting the door. The light switch controlled all the overhead lights and the light over the one sink.....would have liked a seperate switch for over the sink. We would have been able to see at the mirror without lighting up the whole room
• John (9/5): We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful little gem of a hotel. - The Crystal Manatee Retreat is an exceptionally charming little hotel beautifully situated in the midst of giant oak trees with hanging Spanish moss everywhere. Its location is perfect, the room is designed and decorated quite well and the shower is absolutely the very best I have ever seen. The room rate is a give away. The breakfast could be enhanced but it was adequate.

No lamps , when you turned on what lights were there, they were extremely bright. Only I mirror. Not a good place to do your makeup and hair, bathroom too small. No place to put anything. Side tables by bed were too small for anything also.
• Dana (10/5): - From the warm welcome at check-in to the delicious baked treat on our door, this was a wonderful experience! There was also the WOW factor when opening the door to the room. This felt like a transport to Italy with the marble tile bathroom and modern furnishings; molta bella! We loved being able to walk to dinner, the beach and the sunset in the park right next door. We want to return and stay longer! Funny story: We pulled into the parking lot with a Retreat at Crystal Manatee sign. In front of us is a vacant-looking building with a string of rooms. Each room is painted a different bright color with contrasting trim; black sheets are hanging in some of the windows. I look at my husband and say, "I DID NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!" After walking across the street, our real accommodation is revealed, along with a HUGE sigh of relief! The vacant building where we parked was what the property looked like before it was sold. It is worth noting the challenges Retreat at Crystal Manatee has overcome to totally transform the property to its current loveliness.
• Darren (9/5): - Absolutely lovely location. We were in one of the deluxe rooms and it was furnished to an extremely high standard with expensive furnishings. Beautiful bathroom and amazing shower. There were 3 main issues. This is not meant as a criticism, but just helpful feedback. (1) the room felt luxurious, but the breakfast room was very basic and like being in a youth hostel. It would be better with several small tables so that people can eat in privacy, rather than crammed next to other guests on a long table. (2) the deluxe rooms are beautiful but they lack many basic, standard items like a coffee maker, wall hooks, etc. (3) there are no bedside lights, so you have to either have the room fully light or fully dark. This makes it impossible for one guest to read in bed at night, while the other one sleeps. It also means if you get up in the night to use the bathroom, you wake up the other person!! This is a major issue - you need to get bedside lights!!
• Midas (9/5): Overall, a very pleasant and enjoyable stay! - A perfect location. Great restaurants within walking distance. Many Manatee tours available locally, which is why we came. A very nice town to walk around in. The room was excellent and the staff were very nice. Maybe have washer dryer available for use by guests.
• Thorsten (6/5): kühle Atmosphäre innen, tolle Anlage aussen - Schön angelegt, jede Wohneinheit findet einen Tisch im schön gepflegtem Garten. Kaffee im Frühstücksraum ganztägig zur Verfügung. Lage fussläufig zum Crystal River 2 min. Dusche ist top. Sehr weiches, schmales Bett! 1,40m breit für 2 Erwachsene, das soll dann King Size sein? Sehr ungewöhnliche, unpraktische Einrichtung, kühle Atmosphäre des Raumes. Ein völlig ausgeleiertes Türschloss mit Schlüssel. Frühstücksraum hässlich und kühl, angebotene Speisen auch für amerikanische Verhältnisse sehr mager.

A quiet boutique style place with bags of charm , looks and feels brand new . Staff lovely. I definitely would recommend. Could suggest some net curtains as people can see in if main curtains not drawn. Also a USB socket?
• Dr GT (9/5): Great location, great staff, clean and very friendly. - Fabulous King Room, with fully private and separate bathroom. Refrigerator in room worked well, and was silent. Tables and Chairs to sit outside in the evening was nice. Service at check in could not have been better! The beds are very soft, albeit comfortable. If you suffer with a bad back then I would recommend asking if they have anything firmer. That said, it is a great place to stay with great rooms and fabulous staff!
• Seale (8/5): Fun Property - The lady that checked is in was exceptional ly nice. The room was clean and updated. The shower tile was beautiful. The grounds were nice. I would stay there again. The bathroom barn door would not stay closed. It would be an easy fix though. The only sink was like a giant farm sink in the main area. Not a problem just a very odd use of space.
