- Heather (9/5): Romantic time away with my husband beautiful food beautiful staff! - Beautiful big room Sea view Great doggy treats for our boy! Music didn't stop until around the 11 mark just after. So loud but we understood as it was front of house above bar. Carpet bit past it Coffee machine definitely leaks and has blown all the sideboard it's sitting on.

- Dean (4/5): As above - Breakfast was good We stayed in Room 11. The looked tired and the sliding sash window needs decorating. The room was advertised as a Standard Double Room, the bed was two single beds pushed together with a dip in the middle. For £197 it was very disappointing.

- Debbie (8/5): Fabulous 3 days in beautiful Padstow and we will certainly return to the Custom House. - Very spacious, well equipped kitchen, comfortable and sofas and very nice bathrooms with walk in showers. When we arrived we were told that access to the barn was up a spiral staircase. As ladies of a certain age with two suitcases, this would have been impossible to negotiate. The barn was also situated up a fairly steep hill. The lady on reception was very quick to offer help but thankfully a male member of staff volunteered to help us 😅

- Lyn (10/5): An unexpected, hidden gem that revived us at the end of our driving holiday. - We loved the historic significance and atmosphere of the property. The staff we very helpful (with cases and stairs) and friendly. It was very close to everything we needed. Some people have been worried about no onsite parking in reviews we read. The paid carpark was just across the narrow road and the man that worked there was very friendly and reassured us that it was very safe (we could see our car from the foyer, and it was reasonably priced). Breakfast was included in the price and was substantial and cooked to order - well presented. The view from our cosy table nook was out to the enclosed harbour and historic buildings. The location was sensational for walking. So close to the shops and restaurants - just a few doors up from Rick Stein's flagship restaurant. Our room was lovely, plenty of space, with a big bathroom and all the amenities we needed (twin). They also have an onsite restaurant and bar, which seemed very popular. Padstow is only a 30 minute drive from The Eden Project - well worth a visit. We loved the hotel, location and town so much we stayed an extra night. The stairs could be a challenge for some people, but they are to be expected in historic buildings. One of the staff helped us with our suitcases.

- Lisa (5/5): Stay in south Newquay and do a day trip to Padstow - Central location and could book just one night plus POTL was a fantastic spot for lunch if you book ahead. My fault for booking a pub on a Saturday right above the entertainment and lively guests with only creaky boards and a bit of carpet between us until 11pm, but other rooms or the floor above may have faired better.

Once in the room it was worth it, for a lovely room with a great over the basin. Thank goodness for staff who manhandled the bags!!

Rooms were immaculate and the staff are wonderful. We had an amazing breakfast such good quality and cooked with love. I could not find a single thing you would complain about! Ellie and her team are a credit to the hospitality industry. we will be back after the refurb !

Ensuite Shower was great. We especially enjoyed being able to watch all the activity in the Harbour. The Staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was ok didn't try the eggs Benedict because the thought of having pickled red onion for breakfast was very off putting for me. No onsite parking but £10.30 to park all day in the close by car park.

- Heather (10/5): Cornish hospitality at its best - Everything is perfect! The location is king and you’re in the heart of everything. The views of the harbour are stunning. We were lucky enough to have a room overlooking the harbour and it was delightful. The reception team are wonderful and welcoming! Our room was very clean and the coffee machine was added bonus! The Bed was comfortable too. Next the breakfast Wow it was beautiful so much choice and the food was really well presented , excellent quality. But most of all the staff were super lovely. Ellie and her team looked after us like we were friends. Really was 5 star service and we are all ready thinking of coming back next wear. We are 7 hours drive away but that won’t stop us booking again this wonderful Inn . Absolutely top notch! Absolutely nothing

Room was clean, needed a swift around the skirting boards and surface areas. It's just the small things that make a great stay, It must see some footfall this pub and accommodation, but for £200 a night stay you are paying for the location! not the venue. Restaurant booking was simple, albeit menu choice annoying as we left due to insufficient choice on a Saturday evening at 7pm. Went to the staple and had a great time! Breakfast was very good. tentative and fully stocked.? The team at the OVH were great. A vibrant atmosphere.

I stayed for two nights in a lovely big airy room watching the crowds roll in and in my oasis of calm. It was perfect to just walk out into the hustle and bustle whilst over looking the estuary. Surprisingly very quiet considering it's located right on the harbour. Also had a lovely breakfast! The room decor was a bit tired looking e.g. could do with a repaint and there were a couple of damp patches on the ceiling - from previous leaks I'm guessing (I'm aware it's an old building). Also we had issues with wifi so we ended up using our hotspot to watch TV.

My room was directly above it, despite an exchange of emails in advance in which I was promised a quieter room. The music was so loud I couldn’t hear the TV above it. The hotel was full, so I couldn’t move room.

- Nichola (7/5): Great location and views of the bustling harbour - Great location and visited 12 years ago so a little nostalgic for us. Lovely welcoming bar staff and on check in, let down by the very abrupt gentleman serving breakfast! Sadly the room we stayed in needed some TLC, very basic but clean comfortable and an acceptable shower. Unfortunately the water in the sink was a trickle so even teeth cleaning was a challenge.

- I8084YSsuej (8/5): Birthday getaway - Great location & parking was really easy. Two lovely ladies on check in were very welcoming ( sorry, I didn't get names) Our room..No 2 was OK, overlooking car park & harbour, bed really comfy, good selection of tea & coffee & biscuits & gorgeous smelling hand wash, lotion & shower gel. But the room looks very tired & in need of some attention to paintwork & tiles in the bathroom. Friendly bar staff & and a nice atmosphere. Great doggy station.. It's lovely to see dogs made so welcome. Breakfast was very good & cooked to order, but I felt the fruit selection a bit lacking.. Only a couple of slices of melon & and a couple of strawberries on the serving dish.. a few more options would be nice.
- SusieJ (8/5): Birthday getaway - Perfect location! Easy parking. A lovely welcome from two lovely ladies on reception. Bar staff very friendly & breakfast staff too. Nice room overlooking harbour car park & very comfy bed! Good breakfast & excellent value for money. Lovely hand was & hand lotion 🙂 & great tea, coffee & biscuit selection. Room decor was in need of some attention. Tiles in bathroom & lots of chipped paint. More fruit selection choices for breakfast, perhaps. only a couple of slices of melon, a couple of stawberries, this was at 9 am.
- Turner (9/5): - We had a great stay in the hotel,but we was in room 15 it was a great room spacious room but the noise from the kitchen well we think it was the kitchen at 6 am in the morning
- V3580JCsallyj (4/5): Extortionate drinks prices!!! - Called in for drinks - two pints of ale and two double gins (Tarquins) one with slimline tonic and one with lemonade = £39.19!!!😩 At that price only stayed for one!
- 58tessas (10/5): A very pleasant comfortable stay - Really enjoyed our stay at this inn on the harbour front in Padstow. The staff were amazing - so friendly and welcoming. We had a great room overlooking the estuary. It was clean and spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and we also had dinner and the choice and quality of food was excellent. The whole place was clean and had a warm and lively atmosphere Our only minor negatives were the stairs - all the rooms were on the first floor or above. Also our room was right above the bar so it was noisy in the evenings with music and chatter. However it did stop promptly at 10 and then it was very quiet and peaceful for the rest of the night We loved being right in the centre of Padstow and being able to walk out and enjoy the harbour and all the lovely shops. A great stay 🙂
- Olivia (9/5): great location , comfortable and quiet despite its central spot. amazing steak dinner - room very comfortable with amazing view of the harbour it was all as expected tip for the coffee machine - gold is decaf and black is caf !
