Guest Reviews
- Rebecca (6/5): - Clean and quiet Bathroom light flashed for 5 minutes before staying on, advertised with double and a single bed which turned out to be a fold out sofa and parking is very tight.
- Joanna (4/5): -
- kevin (9/5): Lovely staff - Cleaning everything is satisfying... mattress!
- David (1/5): - Although the motel was nice enough, and the owners seemed nice, it is located right next to the main motorway. The trucks rumble through all night long, with many of them 'engine air braking' as they slow for Blackheath. This makes for a very noisy night. I was awoken dozens of times by the loud trucks (and the less frequent trains)
- Alan (6/5): -
- Rhonda (7/5): Comfortable budget accommodation - Beds were comfortable and it was wonderful having electric blankets due to the freezing weather outside. Also really appreciated the instant hot water in the shower. Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Lovely, clean cozy room with nice feel. Great location - can just walk to shops and restaurants. - Clean cozy room with courtyard. Heater was good. Nice vibe. There were a few empty buckets and some piles of leaves which could have been picked up.
- Jane (8/5): Great spot to access blue mountains and a vibrant little village - Great location walking distance to a very lively local pub where the meals were great. Friendly check in, room has little extras like toaster and microwave if you want it. Old school charm, lots of timber. Presented nicely. Would stay again. Nothing.
- EDWARD (8/5): - Old school charm Only thing would be to up date the shower heads
Water was slow and poor water flow .
- Rachael (3/5): Won’t come back again! 😵💫😵💫😵💫 - Location was close to Blackheath town centre where most of our activities were. The whole place is old and not renovated for years. No lighting along outside corridors which was a safety hazard.
- Katharine (9/5): - Location and ambience. Hidden steps, shower set up and water pressure
- Denny (10/5): Great value of - Easy access The garden at the back would be nice if it’s been tidying up
- Helen (5/5): - Curtains were hanging off the rods making it look a bit derelict. Electic blanket only working on one side.
The gravel parking area.
- Gabrielle (9/5): Lovely rooms Comfortable Stay Good value - Beautiful heavy wood decor. Rustic appearance. Lovely garden area outside room. Easy parking. Friendly staff No streaming teli.
- David (5/5): - Phone not working
- Nikki (8/5): I left my phone and the staff put it at reception for me! - Great location
- Caroline (2/5): Never go back $360 for this - Nothing
Very dark and damp
Room smelt wet Room very dark and damp
Room smelt wet
Lights in toilet only 1 bulb worked
Asked to use fan when showering but it didn’t work and as shower in the room not separate everything wet
- MERYL (7/5): - Walking distance to town centre, cafes etc. Good size room and comfortable bed. Handy location for visiting local and Blue Mountains attractions. Unfortunately the room was close to the highway and train line, so was very noisy. The curtains need replacing as perishing and were hanging off the tracks. Overall, property and garden needs some love and attention.

- Andrew (7/5): Enjoyed our stay short stay exploring Blue Mountains. - Comfortable, good location. Faulty TV remote and toaster. Motel gardens looked rather drab.
- Kylie (2/5): - Good location Poor beds
Dusty
Terrible shower
- Parlato (8/5): -
- Claire (9/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): -
- Patelis (6/5): Good stay but a bit sad to see the lack of care of the gardens. - Central to Blackheath. Cosy. Gardens have been let go, used to be a feature but now most are overgrown or dead.
- Aliu (10/5): -
- Bibhu (8/5): -
- Garry (10/5): -
- LETITIA (8/5): The staff were friendly and helpful. - The room and bathroom were clean.
- Mary (7/5): Really loved the location and the comfy bed. Please fix the shower. - Great location. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. The shower needs an upgrade. Poor water flow.
- Breenna (7/5): A lovely place to spend a few days while exploring the area - The vibe is very charming and homey! It was nice and close to town and easy to find. It is a little run down and could benefit from a few updates and cleaning up of the garden.
- Manuel (6/5): - Size of the room Parking spots too small, bar fridge would not closendue to ice build up. Fridge made lots of noise during the night because 9f it.
- Elizabeth & Justin (8/5): A great choice close to everything at a reasonable price. - The central location places it within walking distance to shops, cafes, bars and the train station. The check-in / checkout process was easy and the staff were polite. Parking was ample. Although the rooms seem very close together, you couldn’t really hear any noise from other guests. The bed was firm and comfortable, however the pillows were very flat. The trap door at the front entrance where we guess meals were previously served would benefit from being sealed as they could be opened right up from the outside, potentially compromising security and privacy.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Such a cute hotel No complaints
- Hintz (8/5): Good value for money. Good location, not far to all the Blue Mountains attractions. - The room was spacious clean and tidy.
Bed was very comfortable.
Staff were super friendly and helpful.
Great location.
- Malmi (8/5): Perfect location and nice stay! - The location is perfect with a few minutes walk to the cafes and restaurants. The room was well equiped with required amenities like toaster, kettle, etc. Friendly helpful staff. Would have better if the milk is stored in the room fridge.
- Sunshine (8/5): Beautiful Blackheath Blue Mountains - Good location, very quiet, spacious & clean room. Had everything needed airconditioner/heater easy to operate. Nice small dining table & leather chairs Dirty bathrobes, bathroom vanity is very low for a tall person. There's a glass wall hanging on the top of the bathroom door without something in between the gap to support it & got to be careful that glass might fall off when walk to the bathroom
- coralie (2/5): - The location is good The accommodations were unsatisfactory, characterized by substandard cleanliness and inadequate service. It required four attempts to secure attention for check-in, only to discover a room with pervasive dust and an insect infestation, specifically a centipede, on the bedding, dirty ice. Furthermore, the shower facility was malfunctioning, with controls positioned inconveniently low, necessitating an awkward posture to operate. Additionally, the temperature regulation was problematic, as even a slight adjustment to the cold setting resulted in an uncomfortably low water temperature.
I will never stay here again
- Anastasia (7/5): -
- Andri Thor (7/5): - Clean and good staff
- Kevin (6/5): - Good value for money. Easy to book and much cheaper than staying in Katoomba, while only being a short drive down the road. Staff were friendly on check-in, room was clean. Had everything needed for the price. Facilities are dated and in need of a bit of love. Shower was very low and curtain near the front door didn't fully block out from a privacy perspective. No protection from the noise, particularly the train line during the night.
- William (1/5): -
- bronwyn (4/5): Average but convenient - Location Light switches dodgy. Bathroom light didn’t turn on until it had been switched on and off multiple times. Light beside bed turned on and off randomly. Gutters desperately needed cleaning out. Bench table in room sticky and decorative bed cover heavily stained underneath.
- Debbie (8/5): Overall we loved our stay and would happy stay again. - We liked the outside sitting area.
The room size was good.
Lounge, dining table indoor seat all good.
Cutlery, plates and other eating items all good.
Nice shower and bathroom. Only minor things like: TV remote didn't work - possibly battery
Chip in glass tumbler.
The mattress a little hard.
- George (1/5): Terrible. - Great town. Terrible motel. The room we stayed in was incredibly musty, so we tried to air it out while we went out for dinner. Only after our return from our meal did we see that the pillows and bedspread were furry with mould. We stripped teh bed, and found that the mattress protector was torn into shreds, and between it and the sheets were dozens of dead gnats. We tried to use the nightphone to call reception with no answer. Overall, I wish I'd slept in the car instead.

- Heather (7/5): Good value for money - Location, room was very spacious Appearance of rooms was a little tired
- Kristian (10/5): -
- Thomson (8/5): -
- TokkieLion (5/5): Noisy trucks all night - On first approach, the inn appears quite old-style. Reception is very plain, and milk for the room is given in a small silver jug, which was a unique touch. The garden and car park unfortunately look rather neglected, with gutters overflowing with debris.
The lady who showed us to our room was very friendly and welcoming. One thing to note is that if you are hoping for an early check-in, you may be charged $10 per hour. This was a first for us, as we have never been charged for early arrival before.
The room itself was lovely. Dark wooden beams against a white ceiling gave it a nice character. The bed was on the firmer side and a little hard for our liking. The toilet appeared to be very new, and the bathroom overall was very clean with toiletries provided.
Our room also had a back door leading to a very small garden area with a table and two chairs. However, like the front garden, it was not particularly well maintained.
The room had everything you need for a comfortable stay, but there is one major drawback: the traffic noise. Trucks and cargo trains run continuously through the night, and the noise is very loud. Unfortunately, this made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. One thing to note is that if you are hoping for an early check-in, you may be charged $10 per hour. - Paul (10/5): -
- Helen (7/5): - Location wasn't too bad. Very out dated, depressing.
- Brian (4/5): Damp Room in Highway Motel - Easy to find. Friendly staff. Quiet. Room was damp, curtains were wet.
- Alison (6/5): Overall was ok but wouldn’t rush back - Excellent location for visiting the sites and close to amenities Property is very dated, run down and damp.
Close to the highway and railway so a lot of train and truck noise at night.
- Gail (10/5): - Everything was great N/A
- mary (5/5): -
- David (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Enjoyable stay. Close to shops food and trains. - Fully appointed to make your own breakfast, bonus. Very comfy beds. Walking distance to trains/shopping and Coffee. Will definitely re visit Only criticism the floors were too slippery as was the shower floor. For older people. A grab rail really should be at toilet and in the shower.
- Paul (8/5): -
- Kandel (10/5): -
- Sarah (4/5): While cheap to stay and old style motel it needs a bit more love and attention - maybe it was just room 18 but the musty - Location is great but if room on road side a bit noisy The room was mouldy and musty and no way to air it as no windows to open - the lights were temperamental and didn’t always come on immediately and the toilet didn’t flush properly
- Craig (7/5): Good clean value - Location and value Room had a musty smell that overpowered as you entered
- Edan (7/5): -
- Cathy (10/5): -
- Jessica (10/5): -
- Trevor (8/5): -
- Belinda (4/5): Ok - Location only Very dated, door wouldn’t close properly, bathroom light was defective. Due to age very ordinary
- John (9/5): Nice pleasant - Very Clean
Has improved a lot over the last year Everything was fine
- Christine (7/5): Comfortable palce to stay on a budget with accommodating staff - Staff very accommodating checking us in early so we could get out of the rain. Decent sized rooms. Clean, extra blankets, plenty of towels, soap, everything we needed
- Hutchison (5/5): Was ok - Proximity Run down
- Moonbeam_1959 (7/5): A convenient spot to stay when visiting friends - The room was clean and warm, and the beds comfortable. The weather was pretty bad - very heavy rain - and one of the rooms we booked was flooded, so we were upgraded to a family room. We have stayed at this hotel before - it is old and dated, but it is close to where we were visiting friends in Blackheath, so it works for us. Also, just a short walk to the restaurants at Blackheath. The weather! Obviously, this was out of the control of the motel owners.
- Leon (8/5): -
- Stewart (10/5): Have stayed here before and would do so again. Really nice place to rest up - Very clean and cosy rooms. Love the timber work throughout the rooms. Good shower and bathroom facilities. Everything you need was there. Beautiful gardens and space at the back. Nothing to dislike
- Tim (5/5): - Needed some maintenance
- Michelle (9/5): -
- Shellie (10/5): -
- Heather (9/5): Enjoyable and I would stay again. - My room was very inviting and clean, a very comfortable mattress. Pillows could be softer.
- Michelle (6/5): Price friendly & good location but requires professional cleaning and pest control - It was reasonably priced and in a good location It was dusty and they had pest control issues i.e. a dead rat was outside our door. Bit noisy as we heard train tracks and trucks
- Cathryn (9/5): Our stay was quite comfortable and we were pleased with the location in relation to our reason to vi - The bench near the tea and coffee facilities was sticky.
- Michael (8/5): - The price was reasonable and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning took a while to sort out but we eventually got it working.
- Ruth (8/5): Very enjoyable. Looking forward to returning some day. - The facilities and convenience Bed folded too far low
- Lesley-Anne (8/5): -
- Maurice (8/5): Easy check in, comfortable bed and room. Short walk to the New Ivanhoe pub for a lovely meal - Comfortable and convenient Nothing to dislike
- Samantha (10/5): -
- Catharina (8/5): Overall good. - Easy to find it, on main road. A lot of traffic and train noice for a light sleeper.
- Robert (7/5): good -
- Fredrik (9/5): -
- Briana (8/5): -
- Heather (7/5): -
- Pip (9/5): -
- Lesley-Anne (7/5): -
- Margaret (1/5): Sad - Location Lousy air con - very shabby. Curtains falling down. Lights not working. Highway noise
- John (6/5): A comfortable stay. - The room was a time capsule apart from the tv, a/c and fridge.
Very kitsch and I loved it.
If this place ever gets demolished I want to get all the roof beams!!! Cobwebs.
