- philiptP5405XP (10/5): A Charming 275-Year-Old Gem with a Friendly Paranormal Twist! - We booked a last-minute night away at The Red Pump Inn in Bashall Eaves, and it completely surpassed our expectations. The pub and accommodation are absolutely charming, with beautiful rooms, perfect location, and wonderful ambiance. However, this 275-year-old establishment had a few surprises up its sleeve! Not only was the food superb, but the 'spirits' were surprisingly friendly. Our room had a distinct energy that genuinely surprised a complete non-believer, and the wonderful hosts later confirmed the innâs history of friendly paranormal activity. A truly unique and unforgettable stayâwe will definitely be back!
- acornfencing (10/5): A beautiful cosy shepherd's hut - This was the first time we'd stayed in a shepherd's hut. We were really surprised at how spacious it was, with everything you need. My husband's battling a serious health condition & needed to sleep as soon as we checked in. The bed & mattress which I think was memory foam, was really comfortable and he was asleep in no time. I loved the decor - a lot of thought had gone into the colour schemes, fabrics & co-ordinating soft furnishings. There's a fridge, full kitchen facilities and even a hairdryer & iron. The shepherd's hut was very clean as well. We liked just hearing birdsong and enjoying the peace & quiet. We had continental breakfast which was really nice including fresh berries, croissants, yogurts, cereals. Staff in the pub were really pleasant. Fran, the lady owner I booked with was incredibly helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay đ
- V7398PZkarenj (10/5): Amazing views - Lovely pub. Friendly welcome. Pubs interior is, cosy and in keeping with it's 200 year old age. The landlords are doing a great job with glamping yurts and shepherds huts that could host wedding guests. Our room was gorgeous and quiet overlooking the garden. The view surrounding the pub are amazing. We ate there and tge food was really good. Friendly locals. Breakfast served by a lovely lady. Would definitely stay again and would bring family to stay in the yurts. Also the number 11 from Clitheroe brought me to the door!

- 769adelw (2/5): An expensive mistake! - The venue and location is stunning,the food and service very poor. The menu was very mediocre and expensive.We ordered a sharing platter which when it arrived part of it was wrong so we had to wait for the correct item. I had the beef bourguignon chewy meat and tasteless,my dinner guest had the cheese and onion pie,.the pie is produced by Roy Porter butcher of Chatburn his pies are delicious but when it lands at the table looking like its just been taken out of the foil tray accompanied by chips and mushy peas at a price of ÂŁ18 I think this is extortionate!They donât have a wine list so it was pot luck what we had 2 bottles of French Fizz not the best and then we were overcharged on the bill.We normally go to the Inn at Whitewell but we thought weâd give this a chance but we wonât be going back.The whole set up is very unprofessional even down to the owners dog running around the restaurant!

- SunshineSoozy (8/5): Proper country inn - First impression not great, was stood at the bar whilst the barmaid had a very long chat with her friend, not even a hello to acknowledge our presence. The place was empty at this point so it wasn't as if she couldn't see us. However, the room was nice, the hotel has a cosy feel and breakfast was very nice. Breakfast is buffet style so its scrambled eggs but all very tasty, help yourself to toast etc. Large free car park and nice views from the rooms over fields (its very remote). Cleaning lady was lovely when I happened to say we were going to a wedding and it was a long time to the meal after breakfast and she gave me a few packs of biscuits to tide us over.

We have past the pub many times, as we live fairly local, but never though - All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and very understanding about the problem on arrival of there being no running water due to a burst water main locally. - patriciasJ7133TP (10/5): An outstanding venue and wonderful hosts - We hired all the accommodation at the Red Pump for a 2 day family wedding in August 2025. It is fair to say that when we hired the rooms (including glamping facilities) we had absolutely no idea just how good the venue would be. Jonathan and Fran could not have done more to make our stay a success, including the fantastic band and Franâs beautiful singing voice. Guests were all agreed that it would be impossible to beat this fantastic venue, which include outstanding breakfasts.

- bloodax3 (10/5): Little gem of a country inn. - What a little gem of a place this is. Friendly welcome from the owner before being shown to our really quite large bedroom with very comfy bed. We were attending a near-by wedding so didnât eat here in the evening, but the breakfast the next day was possibly one of the nicest hotel breakfasts Iâve had in a long time. The public rooms have a quaint old-worldy feel to them. Thoroughly recommend this place.

- Megan (9/5): Superb Location - Lovely Husband & Wife Team â¤ď¸ - Fran was welcoming and accommodating and upgraded us to a bigger room free of charge. The bed was huge and had a great view from our window. It was a little difficult to get the shower to a comfortable temp in the morning but assumed that it was just us / because others may have been showering at the same time, it was really no big deal.

- 59gemmah (10/5): Perfect and faultless stay at the Inn - We stayed at the inn for the night, with breakfast in the morning. This place was literally perfect, I could not fault it at all. The room was lovely, clean and had a kettle for drinks. The bathroom was also clean. The breakfast was amazing, with a selection of croissants, yoghurt, fruit, Pancakes, and full English style. Coffee was also in a cafetiere and they had decaf tea. I would 100% recommend staying here.

- matthewn496 (4/5): A stay which was ruined by aggressive owners. - The Red Pump Inn is an overall nice place to stay. Situated in a picturesque area with lovely views and relatively straight forward to find. The rooms are adequate for a couple of nights stay with basic amenities provided. Day one, greeted by a friendly lady, checked in with ease and shown to our freshly made up room. Slept and then woke up to celebrate a close friends wedding. A lovely day it was too! However, my friend made a mistake which he can only apologise for by leaving his room key in his car which was parked at the venue around 20 minutes walk from the pub. We attempted to contact the supposedly 24/7 support number to apologise and ask if there was a way we could access this room without having to walk at the early hours of the morning in the pitch black to the venue (taxis arenât very common here). No answer, so me and my friends were attempting to locate the owner/s on site but to no avail. Granted this was our mistake but what I did not expect to happen was the male owner come storming through our room door and very aggressively say âkeep the f*#king noise downâ We obviously apologised and explained the situation but again was met with hostility. Luckily a spare key was found. The attitude from this Individual and the lady the following morning for a simple mistake is simply unacceptable in hospitality. She proceeded to make a snide remark even though we had already apologised for this genuine mistake. On reading other reviews this appears to be a common occurrence.

We really enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone to stay there Enjoyed a nice meal on Saturday washed down with a few bottles of Chilean suavignon blanc

Cozy bar downstairs, period furnished room with superb power shower in the modern ensuite, very quiet location, superb continental and English breakfast (and plenty of it!). Very nice, helpful staff. - Gill (8/5): Lovely cosy stay in a beautiful location - Itâs location was very close to a wedding venue we attended and it served breakfast. Had a lovely cosy lounge and the owner was warm and friendly and allowed us to remain in the lounge a little longer after check out Only negative was really a rainfall shower so it was difficult to shower and not wet your hair ( which had been styled for the wedding). Some rooms did have a shower cap so perhaps we just unlucky - had i known beforehand I could have taken one

- Geoff1502 (10/5): A Traditional Country Pub. - We have just returned from a wedding at Bashall Barn near Clitheroe, we booked a 2 night stay at the Red Pump Inn which was very close to the wedding venue, the pub has 8 bedrooms inside and 4 external shepherd's huts, we stayed in a room called De lacy. The bedroom was a good size with a king size bed which was very comfortable, there was a t.v in the room as well as tea and coffee along with biscuits were available and replenished each day, the en-suite bathroom had everything that you would require, hand soap, shower gel and shampoo. The room was kept spotlessly clean at all times. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, everything that you would want, cereal, fruit, juice, toast, and of course bacon, sausage, beans and poached eggs, the perfect start to the day. The pub itself is a traditional country pub serving local beer amongst many other alcoholic drinks, there are several areas to sit as well as another room with a traditional fire. There is ample parking as there is a marquee for functions. Our hosts Jonathan and Fran made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble, we would certainly recommend the Red Pump and would not hesitate to stay there again.
- Ulrike (10/5): A lovely friendly hotel - This hotel was fabulous. A lovely room with a fantastic view. Nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors. A lovely breakfast to start the day. We were lucky that when we got back to the hotel after our friends daughters wedding reception we were treated to live folk music in a well stocked bar. A lovely relaxing end to a delightful day

- Alex (9/5): Superb - The setting was perfect, very picturesque and close to Whalley centre. The Inn was very cosy and the owners are very welcoming. Well stocked bar and reasonable pricing. The room was great, good size, well styled and cozy. Possibly more of a personal preference then a negative to the hotel but the mattress could have been comfier.
- Koo1985 (10/5): Amazing. Very comfy beds - Didn't spend much time here due to being at a wedding and having to leave early. But, we got to collect keys early, the hosts were lovely, beds huge and very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice and a lot to choose from. Lovely surroundings. If we need to stop in this area again, then this will be our first choice.
- Chris (10/5): such a beautiful weekend - Beautiful decor, friendly hosts, beautiful location Only comment was that the room was a bit dark next to the tea and coffee making area, would have benefited from a lamp both for the whole rooms ambience and to see for making a brew better, slightly larger menu would have been good too.
- Diane (8/5): Very good - Rooms very clean and comfortable with good quality furnishings. Bed comfortable. Bathroom walking shower with toiletries provided. Checking in very limited we had a wedding at 1130 couldn't have room till 3 but also couldn't even leave bags and get keys before the wedding. We also had friends staying the night before and they couldn't get our keys. Had to leave the wedding to go and check in which was very inconvenient.
