We had no maid service in the 5 days we were there, We were told that we would have maid service on the third day. Not true. We paid a nice price for this stay and it was a bomb. Go elsewhere.

- Ellen (8/5): - We stayed in the center main building for our week vacation, June 2025, the staff went out of their way to help us out considering the house we originally rented fell through after we drove 2 1/2 hours to get there. We went back up for a 2 night stay in August 2025 and got a “standard” room in the building on the right. It was nice, remodeled, but there was not a closet or a full length mirror and the bathroom was tiny and the windows did not open. It was ment to lay our heads to sleep and for that it was perfect. We will stay there again in the future.

They also let us check in early as well which made a huge difference for our stay!!!

Can’t beat the front-row oceanview and the big deck. Beds were comfortable, both bathrooms were beautiful, and full kitchen was super convenient.

- Verified traveler (2/5): One and done. - TV not working. Missing the proper remote. Not hooked up properly. No office help after 6pm. Had to go without TV. Only have ROKU which didn’t work. Coffee maker but no coffee provided. BYOC (Bring Your Own Coffee). Shower curtain hung too high, water pools on floor during shower. (Bottom of shower curtain is about 3 inches from base). Garbage can lid broken and hanging off can. Hot water takes about 10 minutes to heat up. Staff said this is a common complaint since water heater is far from rooms. Once it gets hot, it takes a while to get to correct temp. No handicap railing or adaptation in shower. Beds very creaky. Bathroom door very creaky. Early riser wakes everyone else up. Unfriendly staff. We’ve stayed here in the past (4 or so years ago) and it was better. Maybe new owners? We won’t be back.

That forced folks to go to the coffee food truck they had in their parking lot - $6 a cup. There was carpet in our room which I found to be unusual being across the street from the beach. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The building is not locked for guests so it is accessible for anyone to get in.

Coffee/food truck on site while we were there. Bed was comfortable. Location is across from ocean with a little walking path to the beach. Yard is a little cluttered with things that should probably be put in storage or rearranged

- Jennifer (2/5): - Our bed broke and we had to sleep on the floor in the living room after finding vomit dried up under the bed frame. We found used needles in a closet, the window fell out when we opened it and almost hit a little kid but we grabbed it and pulled it back into the room. It was a 3 bedroom with 1 portable A/C unit so you had to sleep with bedroom doors open to get any air since the solution was to screw the window shut (pretty sure that was a violation of fire code as there was no other way out of the “luxury” apartment on the second floor) and then the balcony chairs were all broken and the balcony door didn’t lock. The whole experience was awful and we wasted a whole day as they attempted to fix the bed and window which took all day. Definitely DO NOT recommend this place and we will never be back for that amount of money. Stay next door at The Anchorage, way better place for basically the same price!

Two minor quibbles: rooms are too sparsely decorated, lacking a desk/table, and dresser, closet or other place to put a secind suitcase; and the whole inn complex is pretty noisy, not a big deal, just a fact that a lot of the people there are enjoying their vacation into the night, and the wallsvare pretty thin.

- jane (10/5): - My room was in the center building and the last room near the exit door. It was busy, banging and loud. However, the rooms, common areas and pool were clean and the staff was courteous and helpful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Pictures are deceiving - When we first got to our room we noticed that there was a wire hanging from the ceiling where the smoke detector was supposed to be. We then went to turn on the lights and there were light bulbs missing from the lamp. The television was a lot smaller then described and it didn’t work. The remote you had to press so hard that you gave up and just watched whatever you could get to show. The floor was stained. They only cleaned rooms every three days and had to walk to office to get help with any issues and get clean towels. No phones in room to call front desk and only open until 9, so any issues after that you have to wait until the day to get resolved. Thumbs down. Would not recommend nor stay there again.

We could see the ocean from the room wondow since we were near thevfront ofvthe hotel on the second floor. The bathroom was all newly remodeled too and i loved the color scheme. Check in was not what we booked but they accomadated us and apologized for the mistake.

The convenience of the first floor was nice and close to the pool which she loved! When I went to add another night stay they were very accommodating. Very convenient to town! We loved the time we spent there! Will go back!

Not sure when they took this property over a when renovations were done.. room is decorated modern but very minimalistic! for the money that you pay for a standard king room the windows have no screens so you can hear the beach and the beach is right across the street so that was a bummer. The bottom drawer in the bathroom was broken on the vanity, so it would literally fall out onto your foot if you didn’t hold it the bad made lots of noise we look there was only four slats across the king bed.!! mattress was comfortable, but because there wasn’t enough support underneath he really sank in on the side of the bed it was great having a fridge and a freezer, but it made lots of noise and we had to unplug it to sleep at night. No bureau for clothes or closet?? couldn’t stay more than 2 nights here. The TV is very confusing. There’s no instructions on how to use it. Because there’s no phone in these rooms you can’t call for service when you need it.. the area around the property in the front needs some pick up for sure there’s old winter shrubs that are just piled in all dead around the front of the property. There’s also a room that looks like a storage dumping room that is totally open for people to look in. ONE plus was there is a coffee truck out front in the parking area. our room was quiet and the beach across the street.

- Kerry (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised with the newly renovated accommodations at the Sea Latch. We have been coming up to York Beach for 30+ years. We usually rent a home but plans changed and we decided to come up for a long weekend. We were a group of 14 divided into 4 families/4 rooms. We booked it two weeks in advance. We had some minor hiccups with our reservation - one party paid for a Deluxe studio but got a standard room instead. Unfortunately they were booked solid and could not accommodate them. It was disappointing because this family had two adults and 3 adolescents aged 6-13. So the room was very tight for them. But we made it work. After a little bit of aggravation and discussion, they agreed to give a one night refund. (We are still waiting for it to show up in account). But they were very very nice about it and tried to make it better. My last complaint was the dogs in the room directly across the hall from ours. OMG my heart broke for them. They barked and howled the ENTIRE time they were in the room. NON-STOP. The owners of the dogs would leave early in the morning (leave their dogs in the room) and be back in the evening. It was wild and out of control. I let the front desk know that they were howling non-stop. I feel like nothing was done because the next morning, the same thing was happening. Barking and howling. This continued our entire stay. I think something should have been done. Very unfortunate

- Nina (6/5): - It was just ok. For $500 a night I was surprised how it was so bare minimum. It was loud with dogs barking, the main door to the hallways slamming at all hours. The room was very basic and had a sliver of a soap and 1/4 oz shampoo. I would have brought all of that if I knew. I assumed for the cost we would be getting a better quality room and experience.

Gave us one hand towel and one wash cloth for two adults for two night stay. Dog left unattended in room and barked at all noises. Nothing we anticipated for the $698.76 we paid for the room!!

At 840 noone was to be found on tbe property to help even though office hours were till 9. Tv was not 40" as stated which isnt a huge deal but it was maybe 30". With kids this was tough. Everytime the exterior door slammed shut, our room door rattled to the point where you thought someone was breaking in. Parking was on site was horrible. No bar in shower and spout was a trickle.
