• Rebecca (6/5): - We were slightly confused on arrival. We had booked a private family room for three and when we went in, the Comfort Apartment had one double bed, three sets of bunks and a single bed in one room and a separate room with a further set of bunks. Now the cost per night had seemed very expensive for what was quite a basic hostel however if you had filled the room with family and friends it would have been a real bargain. The host was very friendly and wanted to share a drink with us and chat to get to use his English. The hostel was 15 minutes walk from the station , the promenade and also the bathing beaching and marina. Despite this being the most basic of the places we stayed in our trip we would go back and explore further.

• Petr (4/5): - Positive is position of this home. But home is old with many crack in wall. We had a dead mouse in our room.
• wye keat (6/5): - Even though owner keep reminding that this is a hostel, at least basic amenities should be functioning condition - shared bathroom lock doesn't work, electricity tripped in the middle of the night, wifi not available, the wall plug is basically not functioning since checkin. Tower provided stinks, and wall is paper thin, you can basically hear your neighbour snoring. not advisable for light sleeper.
• Gerhard (8/5): - Vom Preis/Leistungsverhältnis her waren wir sehr zufrieden. Es gab zwar Probleme mit dem Internetempfang (unser Zimmer war das letzte am Gang und der Empfang des Signals war im Zimmer selbst gleich null), aber der "Rezeptionist" teilte uns mit, dass er sich gleich darum kümmern würde - für uns leider zu spät..Ansonsten waren wir sehr zufrieden.

Auf Anraten meines Bruders, der vor einigen Jahren in der Unterkunft war, hatte ich es erneut gebucht. Leider, ist nur die Lage positiv zu bewerten. Ansonsten waren - 3 der 4 Betten im Zimmer durchgebrochen - im Zimmer liefen Tierchen - 10 Gäste teilen sich eine Dusche. Bei unserem Aufenthalt waren 6 griechische Wanderarbeiter, die die Dusche in Beschlag genommen hatten - Es scheint etliche Rechtsstreite zw. dem Gastgeber und dem Nachbarn zu geben, warum wir am nächsten Tag unsere Räder mit einem zusätzlichen Schloss vorgefunden haben. - im Schlafzimmer steht ein brummender Kühlschrank - die Zimmer stanken nach Rauch

• Stefan (2/5): Hygiene deplorable - La esta dia fue una pesadilla, las avitaciones con telas de telaraňas, Los baños con una imensidad de polvo, las paredes con grietas enchufes rotos y la cocina mugrienta llena de graza. La cama con acaros y pelos y un holor nauciabundo fue tan desagradable que decidimos pasar solo una noche y suspender la esta dia en ese lugar.

• Mechelle (6/5): A hostel - This was a no frills hostel. A budget place to stay. Due WiFi issues, I didnt get the email explaining how to find the place until later. It was a clean bed for a budget price in a expensive town. It was what we needed at the time. We were the only ones in the building for several hours.

Ikke kjøleskap, ikke mulig å koke kaffi, eller føne hår. Ikke mulig å oppnå kontakt med utleier. Sendte eposter.utleier møtte opp litt før 12 dagen etter. Da var vi i ferd med å forlate huset. Vi uttrykte vår misnøye. Den ble ikke akseptert. Vi forlangte å få tilbake penger for siste natta. Etter heftig diskusjon fikk vi 70€ tilbakebetalt.
• Groff (10/5): vergiss es!! - eigentlich war das reservierte Hotel das "HOTEL Haus am See" und nicht das HOSTEL am See!!! Alles war unterirdisch schlecht: kein Empfang, dreckige Bettwäsche, irgend welche Fetzen als Handtücher, Dreck im Zimmer und an den Fenstern. deren Scheiben matt waren. NICHT zu empfehlen, außer man steht auf heruntergekommene Unterkünfte.

• Laurent (2/5): Catastrophe ! - Aucun service, ou à peu près. Réception ouverte de 17h à 19h, quand elle est vraiment ouverte. La WiFi annoncée ne fonctionne pas. La chambre est vétuste et dans un état d'abandon, tant pour les équipements que pour la saleté. Je n'avais jamais séjourné dans u tel endroit et m'en serais bien passé. En plus, il y a eu des embrouilles en amont à propos du paiement de la réservation, ce qui n'arrive jamais par Hôtels.com. Cet établissement est une arnaque totale qui repose sur le fait qu'il y ait peu d'offres à Bregenz en période de festival. En plus, la chambre donnait sur un parking bruyant et éclairé la nuit, sans qu'il y ait des rideaux occultants... la liste des désagréments serait longue et fatigante au lecteur !!!

• James (2/5): Disgusting place - Booked this at the last minute when walking with a friend in Germany and Austria. 60 euros for one night. Broken window in the room, half a toilet roll in the shared bathroom, dirty toilet, dilapidated building, 'towel' measuring about 25 x 75 cm, didn't take credit cards, only cash, no receipt. Why Hotels.com allow this hovel on their site I'll never know.

• Dennise (6/5): Last choice but satisfactory - It is an expensive hostel. The Owner/Manager was very helpful, the original room was small with the ‘private facilities’ behind a curtain. The owner plugs did not work and the wifi was intermittent. The place was full but after the weekend when the place emptied out we were given a large room with seperate bathroom and kitchen. This was a very nice room and we felt a lot better. The place was very central with everything well within walking distance including the town and ferries around Lake Konstance. Once we got into the larger room we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Bregenz.
• Michael (2/5): Nichts für mich - Auch wenn es als Hostel gekennzeichnet ist, es ist eine Zumutung: In der Hotels.com Beschreibung steht nicht, dass man selber Handtücher mitbringen muß, die Rezeption ist lt. Anrufbeantworter von 17:00-19:00 Uhr erreichbar, tatsächlich geht frühestens ab 18:00 jemand ran, der 100km entfernt wohnt. Keine Rezeption (Nebensaison), Steckdosen funktionieren gar nicht, es gibt eigenes Badezimmer nur gegen Aufpreis, ansonsten Gemeinschaftsbadezimmer, was auf hotels.com auch nicht ersichtlich ist. Im Flur gibt es eine dreckige Gemeinschaftsküche mit versifften Kochplatten und Mikrowelle. Die Bettwäsche ist zusammengewürfelt und wirkt nicht wie täglich gewechselt. Der Duschkopf wiegt gefühlte 5kg und spritz in alle Richtungen. Das Badezimmer im Zimmer ist lediglich durch einen Vorhang vom Zimmer abgetrennt, die Fenster aus dem beginnenden 19. Jahrhundert, als das Haus gebaut wurde. Leider nicht empfehlenswert, auch wenn der Besitzer darauf pocht, dass es das günstigste im teuren Ort Bregenz ist. Dennoch ist es nicht das Geld wert und für das, was man gekommt viel zu überteuert. Wohlfühlen ist anders, tut mir leid.

• Verified traveler (2/5): NICHT BUCHEN !!!! - Ich habe das Haus am See kurzfristig bebucht. Nach einem Blick ins Zimmer bin ich gleich wieder gegangen!!! Es hat die schlechten Bewertungen bei weiten übertroffen!! Es gab nicht einmal eine Türschnalle (weder innen noch außen). Man konnte die Tür von beiden Seiten nur mit dem Schlüssel öffnen. Zusperren konnte man sowieso nicht! Die Einrichtung entspricht nicht den Fotos und es hat alles sehr unhygienisch ausgeschaut. Ob die Bettwäsche frisch war kann ich nicht sagen. Auf der Rückseite des Hauses waren auch Fenster zugenagelt. Kein Wunder, dass man nicht kostenfrei stornieren kann!!!

• Lilian (6/5): - Die Lage ist gut: zu Fuss ist das Festspielhaus in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Eine Kommunikation via Telefon nur zwischen 17h und 19h macht es schwierig, wenn etwas nicht funktioniert.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Ich stand vor verschlossenen Türen. - Check-in Zeit war von 17. bis 19.00 Uhr. Das stand in dem Mail, das ich bekommen habe. Aber niemand war da. Ich habe versucht über die im Mail angegebene Telefonnummer jemand vom Haus zu erreichen. Allerdings gab es nur eine Telefonansage einer männlichen Stimme ohne weitere Hinweise wie ich in die Unterkunft kommen könnte. Also blieb mir nichts anderes übrig als wieder zu gehen, da ich um 18uhr einen Termin hatte. Ich erwarte, dass der über die Kreditkarte eingezogene Betrag wieder zurückerstattet wird. Mit freundlichen Grüßen G. Glocker p.s. ich musste die obigen Felder ausfüllen obwohl ich nur Kommunikation mit ungenügend bewerten kann.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Great location visually not to appealing! - We booked this last minute. We would be arriving within 2 hours. We called Stefan and he said he would meet us at 8pm. I initially was not impressed. It however was a very large room with bathroom, kitchen an extra bedroom, couch, table etc but it was just visually missmashed. He did have some snacks and drinks for us which was nice. We used this location as a gateway to Germany. So of the 3 nights we spent there we only spend 1 day in Bregenz. We did not realize we were that close to the lake and downtown boardwalk so we were able to enjoy a day on the lake. If you are concerned about things visually being put together this band is not your place. The kitchen was cramped they could have put a small table in there for putting the microwave on. Kitchen could if used a good cleaning. We enjoyed Stefan the most he was helpful and fun to talk with. I feel the price was way overpriced. By the end of our stay I was okay with the stay.

• Verified traveler (8/5): wunderbare Lage des Hauses für die Festspiele - feine Lage, gut erreichbar. Angenehm nach den Festpielen, dass ich nicht das Auto suchen musste und ewig warten, bis ich ausfahren kann.
• kira (6/5): Altes, kleines Haus, sehr nah am Strand. - Das Haus ist sehr renovierungsbedürftig, unser Zimmer war sehr klein, hatte aber eine neue , moderne Dusche mit WC, jedoch ohne jeglichen Komfort. Für eine Nacht geht es, da die Seebühne in 10 Fußminuten zu erreichen ist. Der Besitzer war freundlich un zuvorkommend. Ein großer Nachteil ist, dass man das Gepäck erst ab 17.00 Uhr abstellen kann.
• Verified traveler (4/5): einfache Unterkunft in Seebühnennähe - Wenn man sich darauf einstellt, in einer sauberen aber sehr einfachen Unterkunft ohne Komfort, jedoch wenige Fussminuten von der Seebühne entfernt zu schlafen, dann ist diese Unterkunft genau das Richtige
• Wouter (8/5): Percecfly adequate budget accomodation. - I stayed at Haus am See during the Bregenzer Festspiele. Although not cheap, the accommodation was still significantly lower priced than other options in Bregenz. We had a quadruple room with 2 single beds and a bunk bed. The beds were basic but comfortable. For us as a couple the room was fine, However for 4 adults it would have been very cramped. The room had a private shower and toilet. No towels or toiletries are provided, however for a short stay this isn't a problem. The check in was quick and efficient and the manager showed us the facilities and gave some tips about the local area. In summary, don't expect more than the basics, but perfectly fine as a place to rest your head during a weekend in Bregenz.
• Five-O (2/5): Achtung miese Absteige! - Das Haus ist völlig heruntergekommen. Das Bettlaken mit kleinen Löchern, die Zimmer verstaubt, an den Fensterrahmen kaum noch Lack. Bei den Fensterscheiben hat man den Eindruck es handle sich um Milchglas. Die Matratzen sind so dünn, dass selbst ein 30 kg Kind bis zum Lattenrost durch liegt. Einzig die Lage ist hervorragend: 5 min zum See, Bahnhof und Seebühne

• Verified traveler (2/5): Notquartier - Hostel hat keine Rezeption, was mir bekannt war. Als ich (ich hatte vorher schon eingecheckt) nach Mitternacht das Eingangsstsor aufsperren wollte, klappte das nicht. Ich rief den Zuständigen am Handy an. Er sagte, dass das nicht möglich sei, es habe noch immer geklappt. Dann gab er mir den Code für den außen angebrachen Tresor mit Ersatzschlüsseln bekannt. Aber auch diese sperrten nicht. Er sagte, er wohne zu weit weg und könne nicht mehr kommen, um mir zu helfen. Er sei ja auch kein Aufsperrdienst. Da ich damit rechnete, ein Ersatzzimmer in einem anderen Hotel nehmen zu müssen, rief ich die Polizei, damit sie mir bestätigte, dass die Tür sich nicht öffnen ließ. Diese kamen und ihnen gelang es, im Nachbarhaus jemanden zu wecken, der zar keinen Schlüssel hatte, aber es gab einen Verbindungsgang zum Hotel. Drinnen angekommen, zeigte es sich, dass scih das Haustor nicht öffnen ließ, weil innen ein Schlüssel steckte. Entschuldigung gabe es keine. Als ich am Morgen auscheckte, war niemean zu sehen. Es hat sich auch niemand gemeldet. Ich behalte mir rechtliche Schritte vor.
• Franzis (6/5): Alles war in freundlicher Atmosphäre - Nähe zum Konzert und Seebühne Zu Fuß ein Katzensprung
• Verified traveler (2/5): Undvik det här - Tycker inte ni ska ha med det. Vi checkade aldrig in. Det var en byggarbetsplats och där fanns ingen som kunde ta emot (trots att vi var där halv sex och incheckning ska vara fem till sju). Redan tidigare hade vi strul med dem. Skrev till oss att vi måste skicka uppgifter om annat kreditkort. Frågade i mail varför. Fick inget svar. Ringde. Då sa de att de har svårt att svara på mail men att det skulle komma. När det dröjde ringde jag igen och fick veta att det ör ett standardmail till alla som bokar. För att få bort de som inte tänker komma. Det tänkte vi som sagt men i byggarbetsplatsen utan personal från boendet och med hantverkare som hade svårt medt tyska så valde vi att leta annat alternativ.

• Horacio (2/5): La peor experiencia, la noche de terror - La peor experiencia, nunca encontré el lugar, la dirección no es correcta, ningún vecino ubica esa dirección, tuve horas buscando dónde operarme, la peor experiencia, no se lo recomiendo ni a mi peor enemigo
• Moni (2/5): Kein Haus am See - Die Räume sind bestenfalls für Asylbewerber geeignet. Der Preis mit 64 € völlig überzogen. Die Hälfte wäre angemessen. Wir hatten 3 Zimmer gebucht, in einem gab es keine Handtücher, in einem anderen ist das Bett zusammen gebrochen. Solche Unterkünfte sollten nicht angeboten, sie schädigen auch den Ruf des Vermittlers.
• Verified traveler (4/5): - In der Küche war es nicht Sauber, in den übrigen Räumen war es Okay. Fernseher ging nicht! W-Lan stand in der Beschreibung "Kostenlos" hat aber geld gekostet! Die Wohnung soll für 6 Personen sein es waren aber nur 4 Stühle in der ganzen Wohnung so das wir als Familie nie zusammen Essen konnten.
• thomas (2/5): never ever - no towels much too small no cupboards for our staff no way to make the room dark unfriendly bad smell in the room etc. in the end we payd 2 nights instead of one (VISA Transaction), no reclamation possible
• Thomas (2/5): Wo ist der See und Hotelbezeichnung völlig falsch! - Das ist kein Hotel am See...es ist eine Absteige. Bett und Dusche in einem Raum. Toilette extra, mit allen Leuten auf der Etage teilen. Altes Einfamilienhaus im Stil der 80 er und es riecht unangenehm. Fenster blättert die Farbe ab. Altes Bett mit ungleicher Bettwäsche und der Fussboden senkt sich ab. Wo ist der See,denn das Hostel befindet sich gg. eines Stadions. Nie wieder und völlig überteuert.
• Verified traveler (6/5): einfache, zentrale Unterkunft in Bregenz - Die Unterkunft liegt sehr zentral in Bregenz, leider auch an einer Hauptstraße. Es ist alles einfach gehalten, aber es war sauber. Völlig in Ordnung für eine Nacht.
• Hindren (4/5): - VERY basic very tiny room with very tiny very uncomfortable bed and not so good looking bed sheets. Unbelievably and excessively expensive for a 1-star hotel (at best). I realize it is high-season, but to charge 103 Euros for such a place is borderline robbery. The ONLY positive thing I can say about this hotel is its good location: 6-7 minute walk to the lake and train station, 10-12 minute walk to city center.
• Steve (6/5): Budget accommodation in Bregenz, Austria - The "hotel" is actually a house being converted into a hotel. The biggest problem is that the apparent front of the "hotel" is actually in the next door neighbor's back yard (!), and not meant for parking. We accidentally parked there and the neighbor immediately came out to tell us in broken English not to park there (there are small no-parking signs, in German). He didn't seem to know anything about a hotel. Better signage is needed. The rooms are clean, if sparse. The bathroom (at least in the room we had) was modern, and had a nice shower, but was small and hard to maneuver in. There were three closely-spaced, but comfortable beds. But nothing else (no TV), and only one set of electrical outlets. The main room light didn't work. Just a few towels were provided. The "staff" is the one man who owns the house. You must call ahead to meet the owner when you arrive, or make arrangements by email. The owner speaks English fairly well.
• Bob (2/5): Better to sleep on the streets! - I arrived at the property with my luggage at about 10pm . . . only to find that the accomodation was locked and no one was there. Tried to call using the number provided, but no answer. The booking was made and the reservation was complete. But nothing. In the end I had to hike back to the main strip near the lake and check-in to the Ibis (at a higher cost, of course). My advice to anyone considering going here is - DON'T! Or you might find yourself sleeping on a park bench using your backpack as a pillow.
• Manfred (2/5): My visit in bregenz - theService is from 5:00-7:00 p.m. After 7:00 p.m you get a key for the safe. The toilet article you should bring with you,also the towel and toilet paper, The phone number on the information is wrong, use the number on the paper on the door. One bed was not good assembled. The railway and bus station is near. But this also means that you hear the train. The window is old. But it was very difficult to find a free romm cause of the festival, so that I was happy to find this room, even the house was old.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Good for a night - We stayed one night while cycling around the lake. The place is basic but perfectly OK for a night.
• Boardroller (2/5): The worst hotel in straight 20 years - I can not accept this as "hotel" as we usually mean. The room does not have toilet, only one toilet for people of 6 rooms (Mine has shower). No room keeping servise ( must use the towell as long as stay). The towell smells like nasty swab. I stayed there for 4nights. In my stay, I have never seen hotel clark except when I made check in. This is the worst accomodation of my experience in the last 20 years. (I make trips 18-20 times in a year.)
