Guest Reviews
- Sheila (3/5): It was below average - The bed was broke, we asked to have another the next day. We were told it was pet friendly then they charged me $69 for the dog. The windows were caked with fruit flies or something like it. It looked like Amityville Horror in the windows. The owners were not very accommodating but their dog was super nice.
- Bruce (8/5): Very nice but simple cottages. Location is excellent. Staff was very helpful. Property well kept. - N/a Bedroom sizes are small.
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Kris (8/5): - Clean bathroom, comfortable beds, linens and towels provided, working laundry machines.
- Patricia (8/5): - The housekeeping should have been better.
Wrappers behind endtable, MANY dried food particles & nuts under chair & couch cushions. The jets for the jacuzzi bathtub were BLACK! Coffee filter was still left coffee machine with old grinds. Crumbs in kitchen drawers & cupboards.
- Jalysa (7/5): -
- Jürgen (8/5): Ingesamt angenehm, freundliches personal - Lage, großes Grundstück, freundlicher Empfang Wenig Gläser und Teller, keine Sonnen liegen
Pool zu abgetrennt durch die Sichtwände
- Brittany (7/5): Was a great week! - They were right there any time we needed something. Everything was great, we didn’t want to leave. That dogs were allowed to run loose.
- Judy (10/5): Other than the playground,. We were very pleased with Swept Away staff and area. - Quiet, peaceful, friendly staff, clean cottage The only thing is the playground. The kids complained that it felt like it was going to fall apart
- H Patricia (10/5): -
- Danielle (4/5): - I’m unsure how this property has received such high ratings. The cottages are extremely run down. Our child’s bed continued to fall off the makeshift frame - to the point she had to sleep in her sibling’s bed.
There were no regular staples such as coffee, olive oil, dishwasher pods, and limited/old toiletries. The ac unit was likely from 1980 and very dirty. The sheets and blankets had seen there day and were stained in spots.
The Expedia says check in is 3 and check out is 10:30, but it is actually 4 and 10am. Which impacted our planning. Fortunately they let us check in early- but called at 10:15am on the day we were leaving to let us know check out was actually 10am.
For the price and the minimum 3 night stay - would never choose this place again.
- Inesa (7/5): -
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rodney (8/5): Very good option for your stay in Cavendish - Well located cottages close to everything in Cavendish. Cottages are equipped with everything you need for your stay.
- Ross (6/5): Pleasant - The size of the cottage and location. No one there when we arrived, so we had to call them and it wasn't very clear what we needed to do. We went to get a frying pan in the tray under the stove, and it was covered in mouse droppings. So we did not use the oven, and we rinsed all the cups, plates, ect, under hot water before using them . We also was told to get new towels you put your dirty ones out on the deck by 11 am and they would replaced ,we had to call at 4 pm as they had nit yet got them . Overall, the cottage was nice but you felt like nobody was there to take care of things .
- Verified traveler (6/5): - All good
- Tassanee (10/5): Excellent location and perfect fit for family of four. - Location Bed mattress needs to be replaced; lumpy
- Jennalee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fouad (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, comfortable, well maintained like new. Friendly staff. Definitely coming back next summer
- Carrie (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (6/5): Swept Away with nonsense. - Property manager made us move between two units of a two day stay, she said it was Expedia’s fault. We booked months ago for two nights, appreciate the call at 10:10AM to move out to the other unit. Management said it would be better to contact them directly to avoid being shuffled around. Expedia or Swept Away conundrum, not impressed. Lot’s of lovely children running around, they had an awesome time, pool too. Romantic getaway, don’t go here.
- Melody (10/5): - It a very peaceful campground. Our children loved all the things they offered for play, pool, hot tub, park and trampoline.
The cottage was very cozy, clean and comfortable. I will be back again!
- Thomas (10/5): - Clean, and very well-kept. A great spot for a family getaway.
- Larry (10/5): - Really enjoyed the cottage. Very quiet area. Easy to find.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A great choice for a vacation in PEI - Fantastic location, just a short drive from Cavendish Beach. The services are top-notch, with fresh towels provided daily—a rarity these days. The staff are incredibly friendly and promptly attend to our needs.
- Rhonda (10/5): - The owners are very friendly people who cared about making our stay a great experience. It was relaxing and everything we needed was supplied in the cabin.
- Rose (8/5): - Our cottage was not at all like the one in the picture. It was basically a very small square space with no ocean view. The unit should have a heat pump installed as the air conditioning unit is not adequate to cool the area.
- Chrissandra (10/5): - My expectations were exceeded. The cottage was affordable and luxurious.
- Gerri (10/5): - I don't have enough good adjectives in my vocabulary to describe how wonderful everything was at the cottage.
- Matthew (7/5): Good - Quiet and tucked away, with only a few cottages felt like we had the place to ourselves AC didn't work
Fridge and Bedroom fan very loud
- Angela (8/5): - Stayed here for 3 nights in September. We had a two bedroom cottage. It was nice as it was very private. Looked out into a grove of trees and a corn field. .
The cottage itself is in need a an update. Furnishings are functional but old. . It is a blast from the past for sure.
The cottage was very clean. No issues there.
- Lynn (6/5): Pleasant - It was clean inside, the whirlpool tub, the hot tub & pool were all nice. The two double beds were too soft. There was no recycling for food waste or paper products.
There should have been a badminton net and or lawn darts.
- Adele. (10/5): - We loved this property because it's was private and very peaceful but yet it was close to everything we wanted to do. The owners were very pleasant and helpful, and let us check in a little earlier, as our cottage was ready, that's was awesome after a long drive. Pool and huge trampoline were a big hit with my daughter and her friend. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on covered deck, rain or shine! Would definitely stay again! Very accommodating stay!! Thanks Swept Away Cottages!
- Michele (5/5): Ok - Location close to Green Gables sites Updating would make more comfortable
- Amanda (8/5): - All family oriented attractions are within 15 minutes of the property.
- Michele (8/5): relaxing , location was great - having our own place to relax and enjoy time together in the cottage as a family the first night we didn’t have hot water. it was fixed and we had some the next day .
- Samuel (7/5): Good -
- Gayle (10/5): - Very pleasant stay. Would recommend Swept Away Cottages to people
- Alexis (10/5): Great weekend stay - Well equipped and comfortable cottage, immaculate grounds and lovely owners
- Chunxia (9/5): A great place to stay for family vacation. -
- Victoria (8/5): - Great property, would definitively recommend to others going to the island.
Pool was awesome, very spacious between cabins. Great atmosphere.
Only real issue was upon arrival of our two night stay we were informed we would need to switch cabins for the second night which was a huge inconvenience to us, especially considering the price.
- Jason (10/5): - My wife & I were very pleased overall. Even hope to use there facility next summer.
- Craig (10/5): - Unlike many of the cottages in Cavendish, Swept Away is tucked away and very private. The owner was more than accommodating. Location was perfect. Walking distance to the Cavendish boardwalk, minutes from the beach. We will be back next summer!
- Krista (8/5): - Central location with a great distance between cottages. Very clean and well maintained inside and out.
Loved that we got firewood delivered each dY.
Wifi did not work our entire stay and our fridge was not great at keeping things cold. The freezer on top worked perfectly.
- Deanna (10/5): No towels - It was nice and clean, we stayed for 2 nights. We thought they were going to clean the room and give us fresh towels, but they didnt.
- Gerardus (8/5): Cozy and quiet. - The cottage was cozy and comfortable. Quiet surroundings. Listing said that that there was a partial view of the ocean but we could not see the ocean from anywhere on the property.
- Anna-Belle (10/5): - Very nice. Everything we needed was there. Very thoughtful in details. We loved it! Would stay there anytime and we highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - When booking online we thought we booked one specific cabin, but it was another we got. Still a 6 bedroom cabin we needed and if was great, if not better than the original one we thought we had!! The property and cabin were immaculate. We were pleased with size of cabin bases in the cost, the pool and hot tub were great. We stayed in cabin 17 and having the laundry in the cabin was very helpful (2 families traveling with small kids!). We will definitely be staying there again.
- V (8/5): - Cottage was very nice. There was mention of mice having been seen recently so they had set up traps, but we didn’t see any.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean quite and close to everything. Well definitely be going back next year ☺
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I enjoyed that it was a fully functioning cabinet complete with your very own bbq and patio furniture.
We never got our coffee stocked up though (i wasn't sure if we had to ask for more)...
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The fact that I paid my whole vacation upfront, got there only to be charge another $150 dollars on top of my price after I had already called and canceled one night and did not bring my pet like I originally paid for. only had like warm water in the mornings for about 20mins. The shower was broken, staff was in reachable due to the fact it’s not tourist season. 3rd time in PEI, 3 different cottages and this was by far the worst.
- Austin (10/5): Perfect visit! - Our stay was perfect. We extended our stay by 3 days. So convient to Cavendish Beach. So relaxing and quiet. The staff were amazing. We will be returning in the future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean, quiet
- bernard (8/5): Clean and comfy - Just for 1 night . Great cottages
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful cottage in great condition. Built in the early 2000's but we thought it was only a couple years old.
Couple small issues that were dealt with by the staff and handyman. No complaints and we'd go back for sure.
Thanks for a great stay.
- Millicent (10/5): Good for family, relatives and friends vacation - The place was very clean and the kitchen is equipped with all kinds of utensils to help making a lobster and seafood meal for at least a family of 4.
Different kind of stores close by and a play land too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The price was value for money. I will definitely come again probably bringing more friends
- Janet (8/5): - The location was beautiful.
The cottage was not the cleanest and needed a few repairs.
- Shannon (10/5): Very Happy - My family loved every detail of the cottage and PEI sells itself. It's so beautiful 💗
- Terry (10/5): The Best Kept Secret of PEI - Executive cottage was nice...great hot water, nice big rooms, adorable pine cabin has a gas fireplace stove that works off a wall thermostat. Air conditioner works well too. Right down the road a short ways from the beach (short drive to park) and all sorts of restaurants and Ann of Green Gables buildings and such. The tourist area is 90% shut down by the last week in Sept. when we arrived, but we came for relaxing, not tours and museums. If you go to Swept Away, I recommend an executive cottage and I think most people will be impressed...nice kitchen, big bathroom, nice beds, cozy blankets and spotless cleaning. If I ever go back to PEI I would likely look to stay here again. Nearby beach has a section with those big red rocks and banks you see in some photos...also has sandy beach to the north section. If you are from the USA do not forget to get Canadian cash and change for tolls and laundry.
- Laney (10/5): The best ever - Swept Away Cottages was the best place I ever stayed at and I stayed at a lot of places in my travels. It was clean, comfortable, relaxing and beautiful. I reccomend these Cottages to everyone....❤️
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff is very friendly and nice, they always provide you with their best support.
- Barb (10/5): Roomy cottage - We stayed 3 nights at Swept Away and enjoyed our stay in spite of the cooler misty weather. Being from Minnesota we did not realize that cavendish basically shuts down after Labor Day so there is really nothing open in Cavendish by mid September. We were able to upgrade and get a cottage with fireplace, hot tub and balcony and considering the weather it was a smart move. I read somewhere that there is a partial ocean view from some of the cottages - I think the ocean is about one mile away so not sure how any cottage could have an ocean view but they were very neat and clean. Enjoyed having spacious rooms to spread out in and relax after a 2 week trip in the Maritime provinces. I would recommend Swept Away for a relaxing and quiet get away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice cottage. Lots of space between each one - Great experience Pool and Hot Tub were very cold
- APRIL (10/5): Amazing time at swept away cottages - Excellent time at the swept away cottages. The best part was being so close to the Anne of green gables attractions. We booked one night and stayed an extra night and did not want to leave. Highly recommend staying at swept away. Asked to buy a keychain and got a free one to take home.
- Doug (10/5): Convenient and cozy cottage - Regular cottage was private with two bedroom, a kitchen and big living room area. Lots of windows allowed us to get fresh air so that we didn't need to use the air conditioner even though it was warm outside. Comfortable furniture to relax in evening. Good satellite TV package to watch a few shows in the evening. Deck and barbecue were also nice to relax.
- anne lover (10/5): Quiet luxury cottage - Check in was quick. Cottage was in great condition and clean. Good privacy between the cottages. The only negative was the check out is "before 10:30am". This is the earliest check out requirement I have ever encountered and it impacted our ability to do an activity before we left. Otherwise we had a great stay.
- Simon (8/5): - excellent stay in a cottage. Close to tim hortons is a plus.
- Kim (10/5): Even great in off season. - I stayed at swept away cottages in October, so there was not a lot of attractions open in the off season.
However, I would ABSOLUTELY stay there again!
Our Cabin was very private.
Was able to set different tempatures in all rooms.
Had our own campfire on our rented property...
Unfortunately 1 night was not long enough. *sigh*
Honestly, I can't find 1 bad thing to say...
Coming from Ottawa, Ontario I would drive to that exact destination all over again!
- Shannon (10/5): Cozy Honeymoon - Stayed as part of our honeymoon.
Great cottage feel! Check in and out was easy - anything we needed was easily in the cottage or obtainable from the office.
Over all cozy, warm and inviting.
Could have done without the flies (common during this time of year) and perhaps a comfier mattress.
- Emily (6/5): Nice cottages; good location - Lovely, clean cottages; friendly and helpful staff. Good location near beaches and Cavendish attractions. No hot water the last morning we were there; we left before the office opened for the day, so staff did not know about or have a chance to address the problem. Would have been four stars if not for that.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very quiet with very comfortable surroundings. - We even saw a Fox! The cottage was warm & comfortable with satellite tv.
- Tim (8/5): loved it and we'll go again sometime - very happy with this location and we'll go again sometime
- Jeannie (8/5): Great place to relax in Cavendish - There were four of us and we all had a great night sleep. Loved the cottage. Very Comfortable. Would have been nice to have a toilet upstairs for night time bathroom runs. Very clean and comfortable. Very and landscaping could have been nicer.
- Margaret (8/5): Great! - Great little spot.
- virginia b (8/5): Overall, very good - We were very comfortable. We were happy with it all, even though there were some minors issues - two lights didn't work, we had no bowls and TV reception wasn't great. Would love to go back in warmer, dryer weather.
