Guest Reviews
- Karen (6/5): - Very convenient for getting around Lisbon; a stone throw from the Cathedral and Lisbon’s many eateries. We had a concrete floor (no tiles on top) which couldn’t be cleaned properly so we constantly had gritty feet otherwise the room was clean and the bed was made daily. Towels not changed daily though.
- Catrina (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay. A few items needed, fans in all rooms, the kitchen needed a sharp knife you could cut with, eg tomato , a dishwasher that worked. A hair dryer, even if that was on request from staff to use in bathroom. An iron and board on request to use. Rooms were noisy being on the tram street. Towels hanged each day as they ran out . Staff were great. Supermarket nearby. Transport near.
- Karam (10/5): - Spacious bathroom, kitchen with top stove, microwave and tea cattle. Rich bath towels and the amazing hospitality of the receptionist and the fact that they stored our luggage until check in time. I only would like to provide better instructions of how to access the place when you arrive earlier than reception hours because we arrived around 9:30am and didn’t know what to do to store the luggage until the cleaning lady opened for us when we kept knocking on the door
- Courtney (4/5): - Awesome receptionist who is very kind and accommodating. Unfortunately the rooms were in poor condition. In the first room, the bedding was yellow from sweat stains. There are many holes in the walls and tiles missing which ends up feeling very grimy and looks like a great place for pests to hide. The photos in the pictures don’t show what it actually looks like, they must be one room which I did not see. AC was broken. The pillows were very lumpy and I could tell they had been slept on for years. This place has a lot of potential but needs several renovations and new linens and pillows. It seems like the owner needs to invest more in the hotel if they want to run a quality establishment. Staff and location was excellent.
- Loren (8/5): - This address does not work for Uber!
- Gina (8/5): If you need AC not the most comfortable place - Overall great location and wonderful helpful staff. It is a hostel like accommodation with shared bathroom and kitchen but we never had a problem waiting for the bathroom. The bed wasn’t terribly comfortable but we prefer something a little firmer and ours felt like an inflatable type mattress. Also AC is for the entire flat- you cannot control the temperature in your room. On an average summer night that might be fine but we were in Lisbon during some high 90s and we were pretty uncomfortable all night. We also could not leave the window open because tram 28 ran by it every 10 minutes which is terribly noisy.
- Stacie (10/5): Location, Comfort, Convenience - I was so pleased with my room, I wish I had a longer stay there! The location was excellent for walking around to see the sights. There were shops nearby. I attended the Fado at the restaurant next door and it was amazing. So glad the staff at the hotel recommended I go.
- Mary (4/5): - air conditioner dripped water on the bed regularly.
- Thomas (8/5): - Staff was very helpful.
- Amy (8/5): - Great location, quiet, spacious room, clean room, bed and bathroom. To be clear this is technically a hostel. We booked the private room/bathroom. Staff was very friendly.
- Sarah (10/5): - The staff was super friendly and made some great recommendations for us for dining. I have to say after reading some of the bad reviews I was a bit worried about staying there. However, the room was quiet and all the staff including cleaning staff were lovely people. I would stay here again as it is the perfect location for Lisbon. Next door is a great fado restaurant. It’s across the street from the St George Cadethral and 5’minites from the castle.
- Jacob (6/5): - Great location but the shared bathrooms were dirty. Also the sheets had stains (I'm assuming that they were washed but still off-putting). The traffic noise is very noticeable so if you're a light sleeper I'd get ear plugs. That being said, the staff were very nice and welcoming and the location is great.
- Yoko (8/5): - Nice staff, convenient location.
The building itself is old, but clean.
Amenities: Body soap, shampoo, towels
Things I would bring next time: conditioner, hair dryer, slippers, toothbrush, pjs
- Cody (8/5): - The room was good and clean. The area was great as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only downfall were the bathrooms. The showers would leave water all over the bathroom floor, not very clean and one of the shower drains were blocked for our stay.
- Katie (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay in Lisbon. We arrived early and Diogo was very accommodating and kept us updated on the status of the room so we could check-in before our football match.
The room was very comfortable and clean. Plus a very good temperature. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend.
- Zaily (8/5): - THE PLACE IS GOOD FOR A EXPRESS STAY. The location is good but at first finfing the place is kind of tricky.
- Hiba Mudather (8/5): - Easy communication and receiving the key, lovely staff. The small suites were equipped with a kitchenette but with the bare minimum utensils (e.g. some coffee/tea/sugar/etc would be nice to have included). The room itself is quite small but doable for 1 person. The bed was comfortable and clean, the bathroom had some hairs so I wouldn't use it without slippers. My room had 1 window that led to a 2x2m outside space surrounded by other tall houses, so there was no sense of daylight really or fresh air (the aircon worked fine but still). So the downside of this is that when I just got into the room it was cleaned and the chlorine smell stuck around for a while... However the other benefit of this was that the room was super quiet and you could relax from the hecticness of the busy street! What I really loved was the central location at the Sé, the arc, main shopping streets etc. Nice viewpoint and the waterside were also a decent walk away so location wise great value! All in all it was a good 5 night stay, I felt safe at the location (as a solo female traveler) and really loved the convenience of the location.
- Donyelle (10/5): - We enjoyed our one night stay. The staff is lovely. The area is the best part. Walkable to the cruise terminal. We would stay again for sure. We had a room with a private bathroom and shower and loved that fact.
- Luis (10/5): - Muy bien ubicado al alcance de todo. El personal fue muy atento y nos otorgó la habitación antes del horario de check in
- Sara (4/5): - The staff were incredibly helpful and kinda. Answered my questions and helped us out when needed. The location was ideal, given the how hilly the city is it was. I’ve not to have to walk uphill at the end of the day and close to all major tourist attractions. However many of the amenities advertised were not available at the hoste. I.e the ac was out of commission, the rooms were very stuffy with no air flow, we had to leave our window open which brought in a terrible smell, when I asked for the hairdryer they only had the one and the previous person who had used it did not return it (not the hotels fault however they should have a system to track who used it last), the daily bed turn over was just them making the bed (and very poorly might I had the pillows were not even placed at the head of the bed), no clean towels even when asked, didn’t empty the trash bin, never refilled our water.
- Sophie (8/5): - Great location, nice room and staff! Great recommendations for lovely food in the area!
Only downfall was it wasn’t a very soundproofed building, could hear people coming and going through the night.
- Sheryl (10/5): - We had a room with a kitchenette and our own bathroom. The room was ok and had everything we needed. The shower head was broken, and they fixed it right away. The location was close to restaurants, attractions and transportation. The women who worked in the office in the evenings was kind and helpful.
We arrived early (around 9am) because we were coming from a cruise ship. There was no one in the office for several hours and when someone did show up, she was annoyed that we were there already. We just needed to store our luggage until it was time to check in. It said on the reservation to let them know when to expect us, so I wish I would have done that.
- Cristian (10/5): - Hostel like stay but rooms are mostly private. Bathroom facilities and seating are everything you need for your trip. I am not picky but was grateful considering the budget, being on a solo trip, and the friendly staff.
- Miwa (10/5): - Very central, on the Alfama side (slightly uphill) about 3min walk from Pca do Comercio. The cathedral is literally on the square and on the path up to Castelo de S Jorge. Metro access isn't the best (11min uphill from Rossio) but close access to bus stops and tram, in fact the 12 and 28 trams, both which are convenient for sight seeing, stop right outside on the square. I did indeed hear them drive by well into the night and before the sun, plus the people queuing for them, but for having a room that faced the square, I'd say I slept alright. It is a very lively nbhd, but the double locked door felt safe. staff was nice. I never had any inconvenience with the shared bathroom (there were 2 on the floor, not sure how many rooms shared them). One thing about the room that could improve is the availability of outlets as there is one where the spaceheater had to be plugged in, and another one that isn't easily reachable under the bed frame area for charging devices. Overall though, for the price, I would be back to stay again.
- Eric (2/5): Yellow stains - not recommended - My friend and I checked in and chose not to sleep at this guesthouse after returning back to our room after touring the city, we noticed the pillows and comforters had yellow spots as in stained from sweat. My friend and I booked another hotel that night and upon returning in the morning, I was told that this was a common complaint and that it was due to the lighting. The front desk was friendly and offered to show the lighting change however after taking the comforter out to the lounge with different lighting I could still see the stains. The staff refused to refund my stay even though I did return the keys and explained that the room did not feel clean. The nightstands were also covered in dust which made my friend and I feel this was not properly cleaned before our arrival. I would not recommend this location for anyone to stay at.
- WEN (6/5): - The location is good. The room is very small and dark. The water sink is leaking, and kettle is leaking too.
- WEN (6/5): - OK
- Dianne (8/5): - Great location. Nice staff. Especially Laura
- Michael (2/5): - Stay away from this guesthouse. I had money stolen from my room and the noise on the evening was horrendous, we couldn't sleep. The staff were rude when I informed them money had been taken out of my room and dismissed me. DO NOT STAY HERE if you have any respect for yourself. It isn't clean, towel and bedding are dirty and never changed.
- Keith (6/5): - Convenient to the cruise terminal. Bit noisy at times from the trams rumbling by.
- Sukhraj (4/5): Don’t stay here - Staff was very friendly
Sheets were dirty, rooms are not sound proof. I could hear full conversations laying in my bed. No air conditioning, bathrooms were filthy, towels were dirty. I’m a hotels .com gold star member and was expecting a beverage upon arrival ( usually a bottle of wine) they gave me a bottle of water that they reused and filled with tap water. The pictures online are deceiving
- Aparecido Correia Dos (10/5): - Close to metro station easy access!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location, average cleanliness - linens, towels etc looked pretty worn. bathroom did not look clean. location is excellent though.
- Gregory (10/5): Nice place in a great location - Comfortable place. Very good location. Nice staff.
- Maryann (8/5): great location - great location!! it’s next to a square where St.Anthony church is located at. the location is on the famous Tram 28 route. the Lisbon cathedral is a short walk. old Lisbon district is amazing. shared bathroom was not a problem,it was clean and did not have to wait for our turn.
- Christeen (6/5): - Great area. Hotel smelled bad. Great water pressure in shower but the shower pan overflowed after 1 minute. Bed was lumpy and old. We had a kitchenette with one plate 2 bowls and 2 cups, a few utensils and a pot and pan. Also an old used sponge and some dish soap. It was quiet and we felt safe. Wouldn’t stay here again but would definitely stay in the area.
- Chyna-Rose (6/5): - The place was okay, fairly clean but we were under the impression that a private bathroom would be more of an en-suite and not just one person using the bathroom at the time.
- Liam (2/5): Avoid if you have any remaining self respect - Room was dirty and bed sheets hadn’t been changed as we found long brown hair on the floors and in the bed sheets. We have blonde hair. Complained once and nothing happened , complained a 2nd time to a different lady (who was lovely) she cleaned the floors and I helped her change the bed. The floor in the main room was falling apart and getting stuck to our foot. We woke up on the last day covered in bites and we found evidence of bed bugs when we got home. The room was £70 a night which is cheap but all we ask is that the room was clean. Contacted hotel.com to explain what happened and to ask for a refund but they were about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Basically they can’t do anything about it. Only give it 2 stars as one of the ladies on the desk called Kate was lovely.
- Christine (6/5): - I had a nice time here given the very reasonable price point and access to local tourist activities.
The bed while comfortable did feel like it was going to fall apart that it wiggled so much when I got in and out.
I could hear all of the conversations happening in the room next door all hours. There was crying involved so I didn’t want to be a jerk and slam on the wall.
The room was clean and tidy and included water upon arrival. I would stay here again if I needed to be next to the cruise ship port.
- Nathan (8/5): - Staff we saw were nice. Check in took a while as no one was there but cleaning staff allowed us to store suitcases until staff showed up hours later. No real issue as nice bars and restaurants right there.
- Giuliano (2/5): - Make sure you check it out on google! The reviews there are much more honest. The room was extremely dirty with marks on the wall and hairs on the floor. The bathroom was disgusting and needed to be deep cleaned. The walls are paper thin so you’ll hear everything in the common area. This sucked for us because we needed to catch an early morning flight and the noises kept us awake.
The one positive is that its location is very convenient to a number of different attractions, however there are other places to stay besides this one in that area.
- Alonso (8/5): Grat location but not clean - Great location, close to everything. But room was not like in pictures, no window, mold in bathroom, dirty sheets. Other than the cleaning all ok
- Bruce (2/5): - Great location steps from the Lisbon Cathedral. The most important thing in a room is cleanliness and sorely lacking here. Room was not serviced at all after the first night (bed not made, room not cleaned). This was brought to the management's attention, who apologized, provided clean towels, and guaranteed it would be cleaned the next day. The next day the bed was made, but again, zero cleaning (bathroom, counters, floors etc). Spoke with management again (different person) and more apologies. Needless to say would simply not recommend or ever return.
- NORMA (10/5): Great location near cathedral - Great location. Good service. Lugage storage.
- Derek (8/5): - This was a perfect place for me to stay for one night after a long travel day flying into Lisbon from California. It was quiet, extremely centrally located in the Alfama district where everything is within walking distance (including the Castelo de São Jorge), and the staff was very nice. It also felt safe and secure.
The room was comfortable and clean. No frills, but all I needed was a place to nap, shower, lay down my luggage, explore the local area, and get a good nights sleep.
The downside was that the room was dark, with no view except for the space between the buildings. Zero ambiance.
That being said, I didn’t want to spend time in a room anyway. I wanted to get out and explore. The room was perfect for my needs, was inexpensive, and walking distance to a Metro station, but it’s not for everyone.
- George (10/5): Great location - Nice location. Definitely get the room with a private bath. Parking is a pain, so don't take a car.
- Sefora (4/5): Would not recommend - Don’t stay here unless you have no choice. The bathroom was moldy and the dishes in the kitchenette inside the room were dirty (there was coffee stains inside the cups from being poorly washed, but having someone restock them as clean was gross). Inside the room door, the door looked damaged and like it needed to be replaced or at least repainted. The bottles of hand soap & body gel / shampoo were empty, you could tell the last guest probably added water to try to get just enough duds for a shower or to wash their hands.
The only reason I gave it 2 starts is because at least the sheets were clean, the bed / pillows were comfortable and the ac worked really well.
- Leah (6/5): - This property did the job, aka a place to sleep for a few hours before flying out, but yikes. Check in wasn’t great & room wasn’t ready until 3:30. Very outdated bathroom that felt icky. It is in a great location, but I wouldn’t stay here again.
- Kelly (6/5): - We didn’t get to stay in the hotel itself. We were contacted the day of arrival and told that there was a plumbing issue and that they had upgraded our room to another one of their facilities, Dalma Flats Castelo. It was a full apartment, which was nice, but we had picked the location of the intended hotel purposely. We were just glad that they moved us and didn’t cancel. The gps address took the driver to the wrong location (we used the address on the site) and we ended up having to cart all of our luggage straight up several sets of very steep outdoor stairs. We finally reached the building and were on the 3rd floor with no elevator. Fine for us, but could have been an issue for others with mobility problems. The staff member that met us there was very nice and helpful. The apartment itself was decent and had great views! I noticed the night of arrival that the floor was wet in the kitchen and thought maybe I had gotten water on it when washing my hands. I wiped it up. In the morning, I walked through the kitchen and my socks got wet. There was a puddle coming from the refrigerator. It appeared that the fridge was leaking water. It wasn’t a bad stay. I wouldn’t dissuade someone from going, just be mindful of the area if you have mobility issues.
- Suzy (4/5): - Cons:
Space was quite small.
Stove was a hit or miss. Had to ask for help on how to turn it on, but stopped working soon after.
Bottles of hand soap and shower soaps were empty.
Cups in the cabinets were used, with coffee stains on the bottom.
Washroom had an interesting smell to it but is manageable if you keep the fan on.
Pros:
Comfortable bed
Friendly staff
Location
For the price, would not recommend this place
- Sage (10/5): - Largo Da Se was the perfect affordable stay in Lisbon, so close to Rossio Square and Alfama. We walked everywhere and it was so easy to walk around! Would definitely stay here again. Great air conditioning as well.
- Roy (10/5): - I loved everything no problems at all
- Mira (6/5): - Excellent location, in Alfama District. So close to everything and stations nearby. I see cable car 28 pass by at the front steps.
- Eric (6/5): - Overall was a good stay. Could have had better experience with check-in and more thorough room service.
- Agatha (8/5): - The location of this guest house is great. It’s in the heart of Lisbon and accessible to everything by walk!
The receptionist Katya was super kind and helpful. She gave us restaurant recommendations and helpful tips for around the city.
The only downfall of this location is the noise at night from outside and inside. The streets are busy with people walking, music, cars and the tram. The walls are also paper thin and we were able to hear everything.
We only stayed here for 2 nights so we didn’t mind too much but definitely something to keep in mind!
- Alejandra (2/5): - DO NOT STAY HERE!
Before our arrival, the hotel emailed us to ask what time we would be arriving, and we informed them accordingly. After a red-eye flight, it was incredibly frustrating to find the building locked and no staff. We waited 30 minutes before deciding to go across the street carrying our luggage for breakfast, hoping someone would show up by the time we returned. However, when we came back, the front desk was still unattended, and the building was closed.
It wasn't until two hours later that a staff member finally appeared. She casually mentioned that she "was hungry and went to get a bite to eat." When we finally checked in, she gave us towels to freshen up in the lobby restroom, stating that our room wouldn't be ready until after 2 PM. After only five minutes in the restroom, she started pounding on the door, demanding that we hurry up because other people were supposedly waiting in line, even though the lobby was empty. She then rushed us to leave, taking three smoke breaks and speaking negatively about us on her phone during this time (a span of 15 minutes).
We were utterly confused by this horrible treatment, especially since we didn't make a fuss about the two-hour wait for check-in. To make matters worse, the room was not as advertised. There was no AC, and both the room and the bathroom in our room were extremely dirty.
- Caitlin (8/5): - The property was in an amazing location, all of lisbon was easily walkable and never felt unsafe or concerned about security. The staff were very helpful and very friendly!
The room was very basic and small. But the bed was very comfortable. The walls and door were very thin, you could hear absolutely everything in the other rooms and common space. But the noise from the street outside was not bad at all. One of the shared washrooms was out of order for our stay and the washrooms weren’t very clean, the showers had mould on the walls, there was no light in the shower and the water went all over the floor.
Overall good place to stay for an affordable place to stay in the heart of the old city.
- Constantin Ionut (8/5): - We had a private bathroom room. The room looked as pictured. While the bathroom did not look as pictured it was large with separate space for toilet, shower and double sinks. It has the small tiles style, looked very Lisbon. The only inconvenience with the room has the constant sound from the outside AC unit. It was like a constant louder white noise, day and night. The AC is a bigger building unit to serve the entire guest house and is controlled by the staff. The AC was on all the time during our stay. Reception staff was nice and reached out to check which time we will arrive by.
- Chaney (10/5): - Location was awesome! Super kinda and helpful staff!
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Nice little hotel that met my needs. Clean, close to restaurants and near the "sights". No frills here, but you get a nice room with A/C and even a kitchenette. Of note nice comfy bed with big pillows...not always the case in Europe. Super nice staff.
- Jacquie (8/5): - Was friendly and we are close to everything
- Brianna (8/5): - Staff were very friendly, and the room was tidy. Excellent location.
The AC was controlled by the staff and would get turned off when they leave, so it's not actually something that is in your control, if it's hot the room will still get hot. A bit of noise as well, could hear a lot inside the building.
- Victoria (6/5): - Located in a fantastic area just minutes from everything you’d want to see. Great price as well. However, the property itself wasn’t great. You hear everything through the walls. The tram constantly runs outside even at night, the reception desk was right in front of our room, we heard everything (it sounded like the people were in our room speaking). The lobby always smells either like sewage or cigarettes. The bathrooms were dirty and gross. I saw moldy spots in the ceiling above one of the showers. One of the bathroom sinks only has boiling hot water coming out, so I would have to wash my hands in the shower most times because of how painful the water was. Also there is only 2 bathrooms for 12 units. We didn’t run across this as being an issue too many times, but the last morning we were there we waited 30 mins for an available bathroom. When we arrived our sheets were stained and under the covers was so much brown long hair. We asked reception to change the sheets as soon as we got there and the lady said she can’t do anything about it. The next day, there was a different reception lady and she was more helpful, changed our sheets and nicer. If you have low standards this property is fine. We ended up leaving a night early because of how uncomfortable we were. I am used to stay in hostels, and never experienced something like this.
- Michelle (10/5): Great stay. Would recommend! -
1. room 107. Suite with private bathroom. First floor however room is actually second floor because of the hill. No balcony but large windows. View is of another building so no need for a balcony. Windows are large enough to let the sunshine in. Clean, spacious, has everything you need for a nice sleep. Excellent mattress and pillows. Large toiletries (hand soap, shampoo, shower gel). No daily towel service but daily room cleaning if needed. TV and decent closet space if needed. Central AC (you can not control it from your room. First day was cooler - second warmer for example). Used the shared bathroom before our room was ready - it was ok but seemed like heavy use so I would recommend booking room with private bathroom if possible..it was clean.
2. Excellent location. Walking distance to everything you would want to see in Alfama and surrounding areas.
3. Quiet during day and night. Tram went by our window OFTEN so bring ear plugs but you kind of get used to it after awhile.
4. Check in - strict on timing (no early check in) however this is probably due to time of year. Individual lockers with keys to hold luggage. Reception friendly and accommodating.
5. Uber will drop you off at the corner and will not know where the hotel is (unless they’ve done a drop off before). TIP!! The hotel is up a few stairs and right across from Dear Breakfast (popular for breakfast and brunch). You might be better off putting Dear Breakfast address in Uber request has obvious signage

- Verified traveler (8/5): Bit Disappointed - I reserved an interior suite-didn’t want to share a bathroom. Room was nice sized and quiet. Very comfy bed & pillows. Good AC. Great location, helpful staff. Agree with some other reviews about the cleanliness, which left a lot to be desired. Bedding was clean. The bathroom countertops, walls, doors had plenty of stains/dirt. I did some cleaning of the bathroom countertop & backs of doors. Kitchen area esp frig needed some cleaning.
- Kathleen (6/5): - Good location. Great dining options. Noisy tram. Very friendly staff.
- Matthew (6/5): - We thought the location of this hotel was fantastic! Parking was easy for Lisbon standards and the dining options and walk ability was great. And, the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful - even walking us to our room and The history of our hotel.
However, the accommodations were less than stellar. The walls are very thin, so we could hear anytime our neighbors came and went from their room or weretalking loudly. Also, we saw a cockroach in the bathroom, an ant was crawling on me in bed, AC turned off during the night and the shower only held hot water for up to 10 minutes. The floors were also dirty. Otherwise, the area felt safe, and was close to points of interest.
- Jill (10/5): - A great place to be...in the Alfama area and also walkable to other wonderful neighborhoods.
- Emma (6/5): - bed sheets were very stained. nice place and great location. easy access. bathrooms had a very bad smell and weren’t that clesn
- Robert (6/5): - The bathrooms need to be upgraded and cleaned more often - two bathrooms for 12 units isn’t enough.
We could hear a rat/mouse running under the floor between the walls every night
- Eric (10/5): Bargain and well run - Great location, clean, easy and spectacularly friendly and helpful staff. High recommend!
- Jill (10/5): - Location, location, location! Walkability, friendliness of staff!
- Heather (8/5): - Fit the bill for our final night in Portugal. Clean and central place to stay. We were able to drop of our luggage before check in. Catia at front desk super friendly and helpful.
- INNA (10/5): Nice place - It was good stay, make sure you take uber, it is high in Alfama and you do not want to carry you luggage up the hill.
- Adriana (10/5): - Old building in the center of everything. Staff was super friendly. Place is simple but squeaky clean.
- Kelley (10/5): - The host is great. We are in an area that is in the heart of the city and super walkable to many places that are of great interest. This little square that we are in is full of fun things to see, including a ceramics shop that is full of handmade products and a great all day breakfast place called Dear Breakfast.
- steve (10/5): - Very friendly and accomodating staff. Can lock your bags away on checkout or arrival. Clean tidy room and bathrooms, very close to all amenities.
- Rebecca Louise (8/5): - Staff were excellent, super helpful and friendly. An excellent location just a short walk from the castle, restaurants and squares. Having a kitchen to use was great too. A little noisy, but in the middle of alfama and the 28 tram runs right by.
- louis (10/5): - Convenient and in the heart of the city center
- Pat (8/5): - Great location.
- Bradley (6/5): - The area is ideal!
The room worked well enough for our needs.
The facilities were a little run down, and the floor could have used a sweep, but everything worked, and we felt safe. No major complaints.
- Joshua Lee (10/5): - This property was right next door to a restaurant that played live Fado music. The lady at the front desk went over and beyond and knew the city well. She was such a joy and worked really hard. Her and the cleaning lady took care of us at another restaurant. The bathrooms were cleaned immediately.
- Patrick (10/5): - I really appreciated the manager helping me with some excess luggage that I needed to leave behind but will collect it later when I return. Very nice.
- Rebecca (4/5): - We knew that we were not expecting the ritz, but this was extremely poor. The “suite” we were in had no working sockets to start with, there was no air conditioning as advertised and the shower had insulation foam sticking out of it. This was a bad choice on our part.
- Marcia (10/5): - Great location
- Phil (10/5): - Great value and fit for purpose
- JUN (10/5): - .
- Jacob (10/5): - The staff was fantastic especially Katia. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.
- Pedro (10/5): - The location is superb, rooms are modest but clean, spacious.
- barry (2/5): Avoid - No recognition as hotels.com booking that included upgrade,a drink, early and late checkout.
EXTREMELY noisy due to rooms being in the reception area you hear every loud word the receptionist speaks.Unfortunately she is just has a loud voice.
Insist to pay price difference to have a quiet room. Seriously the worst hospitality I encountered in traveling for 30 yrs. Place is run down too. Just avoid.
The bathroom had mould, and I didnt use the shower.
Fire extinguisher has no hose. This place is a fire trap.
Apparently all guesthouses are noisy, thats not trure just this one due to poor layout of the reception and rooms.
It appears that this place needs an inspection from relevant government agencies due to fire safety and how the rooms are made.
- Leonardo (6/5): - The room was very smelly the first night, we got used to it after the seccond. The fourniture wasn't confortable, there wasn't enough place to put all the clothes on it. The share bathroom was ok but when you take a shower, the floor gets all wet. There wasn't a frequent cleaning. Also, there were water leaks all over the place and after a few days, nobody repear it.
The place is very well located, near the cathedral, the main square, chiado and the train stations.
- remy (10/5): - Simple, convenient location, clean and you can cook your breakfast if you like.
- Jose (10/5): - I was happy staying in that hotel. The receptionist was very nice and friendly (Muy simpatica). My room was nice and very clean. Andthe hotel is located in a very nice area close to Praça Do Comercio. I’d be happy staying again there.
- Lisa Carol (10/5): - Great little find. In a very central location, rooms are basic but large and airy and have everything you need. It’s worth paying extra for an en-suite. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be returning
- Dale (8/5): - The staff were very helpful.
- Peter (8/5): - Great area to stay, very convenient for everything. No problem's for my stay.
Katia was lovely and very pleasant and helpful thanks 😊
- Denise (4/5): - It was 2 shared bathroom for 4 or 5 rooms with the shower in the bathroom. Therefore if someone was taking a shower you could no use the toilet. And the second toilet was out of order !!
On some reviews it mentioned breakfast and showed nice photos. There was no breakfast
- Corinna (6/5): - To start with this is not a hotel!!! It is more like a hostel. This property looks nothing like the pictures. We were told we could drop our bags at 9 but no one showed up until 9:30. There were others waiting as well that were even more unhappy than us. No one would respond to our calls and texts. We had the “best” room with a private bathroom (unlike the others that shared the bathrooms) but it was scarce. There was no couch (they claim it sleeps 3). There was a hanging rack for clothes with a few hangars. The only toiletries were liquid soap in the sink area and shampoo and liquid soap in the shower (though our bottle was empty and we had to wait until the next afternoon to get it filled). There is not a single outlet in the bathroom or near a mirror in the room. The room was run down. I had to ask for the vip amenity which turned out to be only a 1ltr bottle of water. The only reason I gave this 3 stars was 1) the bed was extremely comfortable 2) the staff was very pleasant and 3) the shower had great water pressure. Our room was literally next to the front desk and you could easily hear all conversations. There were private residences upstairs and you could hear them walking around as well. Breakfast came with our room and we had vouchers to go across the street. There were no choice- we only had a small espresso sized coffee, fresh orange juice, a croissant with 2 pieces of cheese and a small pasteis de nata (which they didn’t give us the first day).
- Aripul (8/5): - Staff was very friendly, place was very clean. Bed could have been a bit softer instead of being too springy, amenities could have been better but overall great stay! Location is in the heart of everything!
