Guest Reviews
- Julia (7/5): -
- Cody (10/5): AMAZING STAY!! - The rom was comfortable and very clean. The staff was amazing and so sweet! Loved talking with the owners and learning more about the area and their story!! The care to accommodate every need right down to Peg's Delicious GLUTEN FREE SCONES every morning was so nice and not common in today's market! We also loved meeting Miles and Charlie!! Thank you for an amazing stay and memories!! There was nothing we disliked!!
- Charles (9/5): Great stay for our anniversary trip. We will likely stay there again. - Morning fresh baked scones were fabulous! Staff was all friendly and attentive. Beach small, but allowed us direct ocean access to the calm bay with clear water. Rooms were very clean. Resort great location on Highway 1 with everything we wanted to do within 2-3 miles. We even walked to dinner 2 nights. Liked how they had restaurant menus and recommendations. Pool was also very nice, clean, and even bigger than we expected. Room was a little small, did the trick, but small.
- Lori (8/5): -
- James (10/5): Amazing - Amazing staff O
- Cam (10/5): It was restful and the staff were amazing. - It was quiet, beautiful and had kayaks available. We loved the homemade scones! Nothing to dislike.
- Gary (10/5): - The property
- Jannearman (10/5): - The property was beautiful, lush garden areas with seating. Nice water front area to view beautiful sunsets with lots of seating options.
- Ronan (9/5): Wonderful - Very clean and very well maintained resort. Kayaks and snorkel gear available for use. Nice little water front area to lounge, swim/snorkel and watch sunsets and wildlife. Peg's scones in the morning were amazing and able to accommodate allergies.
- linda (10/5): Loved the coffe and scones - Clean and quiet
- Vaness70 (10/5): - Ambiance tropicale, jardin luxuriant, plage privée. C'est magnifique !
- Strotman (10/5): - Cute property. delicious scones in the morning. beach area. pool nice. Helpful staff. Kayaks available Our bed was lumpy. SMALL room
- Terry (1/5): -
- Alba (10/5): - This was our third time staying at Bay Harbor Lodge, and once again, we had an absolutely amazing stay. Everything about this place keeps us coming back—from the peaceful, tropical atmosphere to the beautiful waterfront views.
We especially looked forward to the complimentary freshly baked scones and coffee each morning, which added such a warm and special touch to our experience. The property is always spotless, and the staff is welcoming, attentive, and truly makes you feel at home.
We can’t wait to return again!
- Elizabeth (10/5): Awesome - Quiet, grounds well kept, pool super clean, staff very accommodating and nice, they have free coffee and delicious Home made scones daily! I have extended my stay !!Property also close to restaurants CVS.
- Erik (10/5): - This place is excellent for relaxation, watching Keys sunsets, snorkeling right on their beach, enjoying nature, and rest. Wifi didn't work very well, but I was there to disconnect anyway, so it wasn't that big of a deal for me.
- Steve (9/5): A nice place to stay when you are escaping cold northern winters! - The lodge was right on the water and various kayaks and paddle boards were available for use by guests. The outdoor space is very nice with comfortable chairs and lounges for relaxing. The free morning scones were awesome with new varieties baked fresh every morning. There was easy access to all the Upper Keys attractions but you will need a car because there is heavy, fast-moving traffic on Highway 1 that would be daunting if you were on foot. We should have paid more attention to the room we booked. Our room was a second floor, middle room that had enough space for the bed and a counter, but not much else. No place to even put suitcases. There are many better rooms that are much larger and had views of the Bay. The only other issue was the traffic noise from Highway 1. The noise was hardly noticeable down by the Bay and the office, but it was a bigger problem for the rooms closest to the highway. We will come back again, but will book a better room.
- Joshua (9/5): -
- Lucy (8/5): I can see why just 3 stars but very pleasant in a good location. - The location was beautiful, the fact sun sets right on the beach bit was a bonus, the scones of a morning is a wonderful touch not to mention the free use of kayaks. The room size we got was classed as a small queen room but you couldn’t move in there, there was absolutely no space, especially for us being international travellers there was no where to put cases and no storage to hold stuff, the only draws there had blankets and pillows in, 1 bed side cabinet so the other persons stuff is all over the floor. House keeping tried to open the door in on us after me saying no multiple times when they knocked. Also didn’t like the no bar or restaurant on the site throughout the day/night.
- Fidel (9/5): Terrific little vacation spot, to which we plan to return! - Great location, beautiful surroundings. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Delicious scones and coffee every morning. Nice waterfront area with a little beach, dock and plenty of chairs for relaxing. Enjoyed the heated pool and kayaks. The basic room and bath were pretty tight. Would opt for one of the larger suites or cottages next visit.

- Jerry (10/5): Conveniently located and beautiful grounds with friendly staff - Beautiful neat and great location Nothing
- David (10/5): -
- Chrystal (10/5): 10/10 recommend. If we go back to Key Largo, we will be staying here again! - The lodge was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, gorgeous garden and ocean front….scones and coffee were amazing. Nothing we didn’t like. Everything was amazing!
- Petit (8/5): -
- Arthur (10/5): Relaxing - Everything
- Karen (10/5): Charming. Relaxing. Comfortable. A Gem in Key Largo. - My husband and I stayed at this property for two nights. We were on a Florida road trip and Key Largo was on our list. We arrived after dark so it was slightly difficult to see the entry signage. The property is tucked in - we did not hear road noises. We were greeted at reception by a very friendly man (cannot recall name). He showed us our room and assigned parking spot. The room was perfect for our needs - small kitchen (only used the refrigerator), sleeping area, bathroom all very nice. Across from our room was the perfect open air roofed structure with comfy seating where we enjoyed wine in the evening. The property has a small private beach where we enjoyed a marvelous sunset. There are beach chairs provided on the beach as well as on the dock. Also provided are complimentary kayaks (we did not use) but I bet they were fun to use. Each morning we enjoyed the delicious scones provided at Peg's Breakfast Scone Truck. There is comfortable seating in the center area of the property (near reception). Peg offers a variety of scones (they change every morning), coffees, and teas for our complimentary breakfast. The property location is in Key Largo - about an hour drive to Marathon in the Keys. We used Bay Harbor Lodge as our base for daytime exploring as far as Marathon. There are many restaurant options nearby either by foot or car. We highly recommend this property. N/A

- Stephanie (9/5): - Peggy's Scones are too die for! Staff is extremely friendly too, we had spoken to Jonathan a few times and he had also given us a bunch of excellent food recommendations. The beds are very comfortable and the ac in our room worked perfectly which was much needed to escape the summer heat.
- Any (10/5): -
- golan (10/5): - a family business run by the big heart of peg and jonathan. a little piece of heaven. clean, good vibes and the best kayaks in largo!
the complimntry scones and coffe are so cute and perfect.
magical place!
god bless you! sea, view, room
- Jim (10/5): The best place to stay in Key Largo - What a wonderful place. Peg and the team were so welcoming, the suite we were in was generously proportioned with a lovely balcony, the swimming pool was great, it had a lovely beach and free kayaking in the bay and the free morning scones weee delicious and a great way to meet and chat to other guests
- Azaria (10/5): - Quietness, comfort and location
- Pawel (10/5): -
- Jack (10/5): -
- Heather (10/5): Stay here. You wont regret it. - The staff, the location, the vibes, the kayaks that were complimentary to use, the free scones and coffee the morning when we left also.
- Showers (9/5): This resort is in a beautiful scenic location and run by hospitable owners who take tremendous care in keeping their gue - Clean rooms with beautiful landscaping and amenities
- Meagan Bromfield (10/5): A lovely Weekend in Key Largo - Lovely location with beautiful gardens on the waterfront, with great spots to watch the sunset. We loved having the free Kayaks and even saw a manatee from the dock. The room is very clean, nicely decorated with a coffee machine, fridge and microwave. Great breakfast, homemade scones (different flavours each day) with hot beverages available in the mornings. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend. The room walls are quite thin. Could hear people walking upstairs and talking next door. Suggest bringing earplugs if a light sleeper.
- Laura (8/5): Everything amazing except the very rude way of telling us about people coming to pick us up. - Amazing place, paradisiac. They lent you kayaks and different props to do water sports. There are manatees swimming, fishes and other marine life. We were very aware and respectful on the fact that we cannot have visitors. My family came to pick me up and the person in reception was quite rude to all of us, telling us to leave. We were there max 5 min.
- yona (8/5): The staff is very friendly and helpful the possibility to take a Kayak is a great bonus! - We liked kayaking and sitting on the beach We could hear our neighbors talking and their Television at night
- Estelle (8/5): -
- Kevin (10/5): - Super friendly staff…delicious scones and use of the kayaks! Bed was too soft
- Estelle (6/5): Rapport qualité prix à revoir - Le personnel aimable.
L’emplacement.
Extérieur du motel bien aménagé, bcp plus agréable que l’intérieur de la chambre. Prix élevé par rapport à la vetusté des chambres.

- Demmler (10/5): Wir kommen wieder! - Was für eine tolle Anlage. Man sieht überall mit wieviel Herz und Liebe man sich um die Anlage kümmert. Das Personal war excellent.
- Amy (10/5): - We stayed in #5 and it was nicely updated, air conditioning worked great and it was very spacious. The fresh coffee and inventive scones were amazing each morning, staff was very friendly and we appreciated being able to check out the equipment and get out on the water. We kayaked with dolphins!
- christopher (10/5): - Everything was amazing
- Dave (10/5): - It was a very nice location, with a shared pool and great access to the ocean with free use of the kayaks. The staff was very friendly and helpful to organize my dive trips.
- cindy (10/5): - Good hotel
- Jane (10/5): Meget bra , alt etter forventning anbefales - Rommet
Sengen
Gode kaker og kaffe i vognen
Personalet
Niks
- Jennifer (10/5): Our stay was very relaxing, we did not want to leave. - Everything! Room was clean and cozy. The coffee and pastries in the morning were delicious! Staff is very friendly and helpful.
100% recommend Bay Harbor Lodge. Did not find anything we didn’t like.
- Cabrera (10/5): thank you - everything nothing
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Audrey (10/5): - Fantastic property and facilities. Staff were very helpful. We loved Pegs Scones for breakfast.
- Pam (10/5): Highly recommended - Complimentary coffee and scones in the morning, clean rooms and gorgeous property. Stayed for a night on our way to Key West and will definitely stay again.
- Madeline (10/5): - Bay Harbor is a hidden gem in every way. You won't be disappointed!
- Ivis (2/5): - These people are Russian and treated me like they are in Russia, I could not one person wait for me on property to go out, I could not have family members outside to barbecue and come over, they are extremely rude, mean, radical, mannerless, just super inappropriate and unprofessional, I didn’t stay at all and they took my money, would not return a penny, I lost over $500. Please don’t do business with people like these or places like this, they run this place like a daycare want to tell people what to do, watch them like criminals and treat them worse. The owners are a piece of crap and should not run any business in our country like this, it’s crazy the stupid narcissistic rules and attitudes they have. I really need my money back
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- CONNIE (10/5): - They do an awesome job with the grounds and room decor.
- Robert (10/5): Beautiful property and friendly staff - Very nice, well-maintained property. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Cari served up excellent scones and coffee for the free breakfast. We would love to stay here again.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Greg (10/5): Great get away in key largo. - Awesome location. Homely quiet feel. Great hosts. Pool on site along with beach access. Flying insects
- Robert (8/5): - Very friendly staff and the property has that old Florida feel. Really glad we stayed here a few days!
- Pamela D (10/5): - Great Place! Will stay again!
Thank you
- Adams (10/5): Quaint sweet property. - Very sweet property. Beautifully maintained and lots of tropical plants and. The room was updated and nicely decorated. The pool was very refreshing and clean. Kayaks at the dock. amazing morning scones homemade. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Can watch sunset right on property at the Bay front. Lots of places to relax with or without shade. Quiet and quaint little retreat. Bed was very comfy. Older units so they have thin walls and floors. Could hear people walking upstairs and some of talking next door. But you just have to take that with a grain of salt. That can happen anywhere.
- Adele (10/5): Bay Harbor Lodge is a Must-Stay vaykay experience! - This is a little gem! The location is great; you are close to all Key Largo sites and experiences. The property itself is lovely and the tropical landscaping is gorgeous.
Our studio room was spotless and well-appointed. The staff was welcoming and helpful; there were multiple options to enjoy the pool and this beach-bayfront property. All kinds of water play and equipment are at the ready from kayaks and paddleboards to snorkels and noodle floaties. The sunsets are magnificent! The hosts even have an assortment of board games for those who would rather just chill.
Each morning, Peggy prepares an incredible variety of fresh scones and hot and cold beverages, served with smiles from her on-site Food Truck. No detail that creates a pleasant morning is missed (The iced coffee even has coffee ice cubes!). Seating? There are too many options to list in any of the main grounds or bayfront settings!
We would definitely stay at the Bay Harbor again. Only one complaint: It is very difficult to find the entrance from the highway (the very busy highway) and we passed it by a few times, a challenge other guests experienced as well.
- RONALD (8/5): - Overall excellent service and experience
Beautiful location
- Kenneth (10/5): - Beautiful, well-kept property with owners who go the extra mile to ensure the comfort of their guests! It was such a relaxing and enjoyable vacation for us! We would definitely stay here again! And, the scones and coffee for breakfast every day made it that much more enjoyable!
- CA (10/5): Old Florida charm - This is our go-to place to stay whenever we visit the Keys. The place has that old Florida charm, the views are beautiful, the staff is outstanding, and the delicious scones are the cherry on top! We'll definitely be back (again.)
- Maggie (10/5): - Wonderful property with great staff and the best scone ever. Only regret is we had to go home.
- Maria (10/5): - Loved this place, it had charm. Beautiful landscape, rooms were really clean. Staff was amazing!
- Keith (9/5): Superb -
- Jessica (10/5): A little gem - Me and my husband wanted something with a little private beach , wanting to be away from crowds .This was the place to be , We absolutely love this location. It was so quiet and relaxing. We loved Pegs scones in the morning . Truly looking forward to coming back .
- Jon (9/5): Just great, good facilities, great host, beautiful place, very relaxed - Loved it. We stayed in a lodge with a view of the Bay. This a small hotel with perhaps 25 rooms/lodges, about 1.5 miles from the main parts of Key Largo. For us , it was perfect, it has a small beach with Kayaks to use and chairs etc to sit, sunbathe etc. There's no breakfast provided as such but Scone sand drinks are provided which was a nice touch. The Lodge had bedroom, Kitchen, bathroom and sitting area. It was small, but then we we rarely in it except for the occasional meal and of course to sleep. There was a table outside the lodge for our use only with a view across the Bay. The view is great the water incredibly calm and perfect for Kayaking, swimming, just look out for Manatees. Highly recommend for a quiet stay in a fabulous part of the Keys. Host provided great restaurant and activity recommendations, Highly recommend. We arrived late at night at a time when the office is shut (after 8pm) but the host provided easy instructions to get to our Lodge which was excellent. Cant think of much to criticise. If I had to fins something I would say that the Lodge is not within walking distance of many facilities and you need to take a short drive (< 5mins) to get to Restaurants etc. But, frankly you have to drive everywhere anyway, and you would not get the type of experience that we had in the area where the restaurants/bars are mainly concentrated. Key Largo is bisected by US1 which is quite a busy (ish) road do there is a low level noise from this road in the background , didn't bother me at all apart form the occasional loud motorbike and at night its no issue. Of course the keys is a fairly narrow strip of land with this highway running its length so I can't imagine that issue is unique to BHL.
- Kaminsky (8/5): Very good -
- Sheri (10/5): - We stayed in room 14 which was perfect for our family of 3 (king bed and sleeper sofa) with room to spread out at the kitchen table and armed chairs in the living room. Our patio overlooked the parking but there is so much tropical foliage you couldn’t tell. The road noise was loud at night since the sliding door was next to the bed, so we had to put on white noise sounds to buffer it a bit. Easter weekend and it was never too crowded to use the free kayaks, find a chair near the beach/dock area or the pool. What sets this place apart is Pegs Scones truck for fresh scones and coffee every morning. The staff is always around and very friendly, hope you get to meet Charlie!
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Home made scones included for breakfast
- Harald (9/5): Superb -
- Donald (9/5): A great place to get away from the noise - We left Miami Beach and stopped in Key Largo for the night on the way to Key West. The property was beautiful and peaceful
- Margelys (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (10/5): - We stayed at the property at the last minute (due to US1 being closed). The staff were friendly, the location was great (with a beautiful waterfront view of the sunset), and the scones in the morning were delicious. Highly recommend.
- lydia (6/5): - The property is well kept, but there were a couple of downsides. First, we had the smallest room and we had a room next to ours on the same floor and another above us. My husband was awakened by the guests behind us at 6:30 am and he could hear everything they were saying. I heard EVERYTHING from the guests above, who also made us listen to their war-themed movie until 11 pm. There was also a compressor going on and off constantly when we were trying to go to sleep. Other than that, the property is well-kept and is similar to other contigous resorts in that they have access to the water looking West, where you can see the sunset.
- Donna (10/5): - Everything was Fabulos !!
- Alicia (10/5): This was a nice, quiet paradise, nestled among the Florida foliage. - Fresh coffee, tea and hot chocolate with daily homemade scones were a lovely addition to our stay. There were kayaks and SUPs to borrow, and the beach/dock area had a beautiful view of the sunset.
- Jessica (10/5): Amazing! Can I live here lol - LOVED our stay! Peg’s scones were to die for and we have been talking about them ever since. Perfect location and beautiful property. We had a relaxing weekend trip and cannot wait to come back.
- Eva (9/5): Would always come back - Everything: clean and beautiful location The room was a bit stuffy
- Lionel (10/5): - Spectacular ocean views!!!
- Gregory (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (8/5): Bring your own ice! - The photos are very deceiving. The standard room is tiny. We complained and had to pay for an upgrade, even though the description of the room was that the room had separate dining and sitting areas. It had neither. They don't have any ice machines, so bring your own. The laundry is free, you just have to buy detergent.
Beautiful landscaping. We also thought it was way overpriced.
- Pat (9/5): Surprise, loved this place! - Several tiki huts, many tables/chairs and lounge areas for enjoying the outdoors. Charming, small resort atmosphere. The nicest, most accommodating hosts. Beautiful sunset view.
