Guest Reviews
- Ronald (10/5): - Great service from Front Desk Cesar, server Eduardo, Room attendant Rosanna who were very helpful and professional. Our 6F room was nice, clean, spacious but we can hear the street noise. Buffet breakfast was delicious and nice restaurant ambiance. Great hotel location.
- Yulissa (10/5): - Excelente la habitación y la cama súper comoda
- Flor (10/5): - Great location and safe to walk around. Many restaurants in area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There’s construction on the lot next to it but work stopped at a reasonable hour.
- Beth (8/5): Great Stay! - We had a nice stay at Jose Antonio in the Miraflores district in Lima. The location is very good for restaurants, shopping and walking. The staff was great - very helpful. the complimentary breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean and comfortable - We stayed 3 separate times in the last month there and overall it was a good home base to explore Miraflores from. Lots of places to eat within easy walking distance. Our room each time was fine, but other travelers in our group had varied experiences with rooms being too cold or hot. We found the shower heads awkwardly high but with good water pressure; clean rooms, good breakfast buffet, and prompt attention to our requests. Nice that they had a water bottle refill station next to their restaurant. Wish their coffee was better. Would stay there again.
- lucia (8/5): - Hotel have to change room after first night stay due to construction next door made noise from 7 am
Area of the hotel is not that appealing not sure safety since elevator didn’t have feature of using key to go to the room, your guide said Lima is not safe! But hotel didn’t have safety control who goes in & out from the hotel and rooms from elevator .
- Haosiao (10/5): - Okay
- Lonavala2022 (10/5): and healthy spread.....mesmerizing...awesome breakfast..can you imagine glaucomolie in breakfast...this hotel is comfort..beauty - and healthy spread.....mesmerizing...awesome breakfast..can you imagine glaucomolie in breakfast...this hotel is comfort..beauty..elegance and substance.
All in all a hidden gem in Milafores...Jose Antonio rocks.
This beautifully located hotel does everything in style. Leaving the welcome aside the room. Equipped with the best quality material. And I have slept on the best mattress till now. The bathtub is just fantastic with hand handles, very, very elegant.
The room has. A well place toilet a full immer. Chest of drawers, a good wardrobe, save clock. Antique lamps, a refrigerator kettle and cups with beverage supplies. A beautiful Peruvian painting, a television, a working desk. A relaxing desk can take a chair and uh, we can. The noise level was absolutely no no. I enjoyed every moment in this room.
- Linda (10/5): - we were with the Over seas adventure travel tour and stayed at 3 of Jose Antonio hotels during our visit to Peru. We enjoyed our stay at each hotel. Our rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. There are many choices of delicious food at the breakfast buffet every morning.
- Jie (10/5): - Convenient and save location. Clean room.
- antonio (10/5): Great hotel - Great hotel. Excellent location, clean. Outstanding service. Thanks
- Therese (10/5): - Good accomm
- Discover58504101557 (6/5): Not really a four star hotel - We stayed in what appeared to be an annexe building to the much smarter looking main building on the opposite corner. The soundproofing is diabolical. There was a gap under the door to the room which meant you could hear everything anyone said in the hall and stairs outside. You could hear the people upstairs in the bath and also the staff setting up for breakfast on the floor below.
The female in the bar seemed completely disinterested in any form or service when we wanted evening drinks.
There is also a large building site next door which is extremely noisy (except on Sunday.)
That said, the bed was comfortable.
- Svetlana (8/5): - Nice stuff and convenient location
- AnneAndrews (8/5): Great location! - To be honest, I would put this hotel somewhere between 3-4 stars. It is in a great location so that brings up the rating. The room was fine - clean, with a decent bed, although small, but the bathroom was a bit tired. The breakfast buffet was good, not great. It was also pretty crowded with a convention. It's decent enough, but nothing special
- Oliver John (8/5): - Todo bien, muy céntrico y buen servicio, recomendado.
- wendyh49 (8/5): A good place to stay - Stayed in this hotel as part of a package tour and was happy with almost everything about the hotel. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was pleasant with a good array of items. The hotel location is very good, with an excellent pizzeria across the street and many shops, including a pharmacy, nearby. I was able to buy herbal anti-altitude sickness pills there ready for the rest of my trip. The seaside area with the Parque de Amor is an easy walk and a good place to watch the many surfers braving the Pacific rollers. My main criticism of the hotel was the street noise, which was constant, despite the double glazing.
- Oliver John (10/5): - Todo excelente, muy bien ubicado y su personal muy amable.
- Soly (10/5): Nice hotel in good location - Good location near parks and attractions.
Nice clean room.
Very helpful staff.
Breakfast just ok.
- Trevor (10/5): - Excellent hotel. All staff & amenities were exeptional.
- Hon-Wai (6/5): - I like the location and walk to most of the attractions. The breakfast is so so and the available English speakfast is limited.
- Hon-Wai (8/5): - No electrical outlet for phone, PC charging
- AZUCENA (10/5): - EVERYTHING
- 448duraig (2/5): Disturbing Incident at Hotel Jose Antonio in Lima - I am writing to bring to your attention an alarming incident that occurred at Hotel Jose Antonio in Lima during my recent stay.
At approximately 1 am, an unsettling event unfolded when an unknown individual entered the room designated for children, causing them considerable distress. Although my children attempted to contact me at 1 AM, unfortunately, I missed their call. Promptly, my daughter contacted the hotel's reception to address the situation.
To our shock and dismay, the hotel staff casually mentioned that housekeeping had mistakenly entered the wrong room. The gravity of the situation cannot be overstated—having someone enter a room, turn on lights, and disrupt the peace of guests at such a late hour is wholly unacceptable.
Given the magnitude of this lapse in security and the impact it had on our experience, I feel compelled to share this information with others to ensure awareness of the hotel's shortcomings. I believe it is essential to share a negative review detailing this incident, emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable, irrespective of the time of day.
I trust that you will find this information helpful in making an informed decision regarding your choice of accommodation. It is my hope that by sharing this experience, others may be spared from encountering a similar situation.
- Jennifer (4/5): - The hotel does not provide you with water even though they said it to use the tap water. The room has a musty smell. You can hear the live music past after 1:30 AM at night. The room is not quiet for sleeping. It does not provide any water, toothpaste or tooth brush. Their workers speak very limited English. International planes usually fly into Lima after midnight. You arrive at the hotel early in the morning and there is nothing inside it for you to use to brush your teeth with. You have to get water, a toothbrush and toothpaste at a convenience store close by in the morning. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Their breakfast is very limited and the workers at the restaurant speak very limited English.
- Jimbenben2 (8/5): Great Miraflores neighborhood - I stayed here for four nights and found it to be a friendly comfortable hotel at a reasonable price. I love the Miraflores neighborhood. It is a vibrant thriving area with upscale shops and nightlife. My only hesitation to recommend this hotel is that it is not ideally located to stroll and take advantage of the neighborhood. It is located several blocks from the main area and somewhat inconvenient to navigate the traffic. There are many hotels located near El Malecon with ocean views which I would prefer.
- Lee_family_219053 (4/5): Not a great stay in an old building which does not look like a hotel - We arrived in Lima and stayed here 3-nights exploring the city. We did not stay at the main wing but were located at the building across the street that was very old. Noisy and cold as it was unlike a hotel but a service apartment. The restaurant on the second floor was small and seem to be always crowded and breakfast had limited choice with cold food. Location was the good point. Staff never smiled nor looked friendly. Overall a good nights sleep in a spacious room if one is not particular with the surrounding.
- Ronald (6/5): - Room was pleasant enough. Water temperature in shower fluctuated, almost dangerously so. Flooring in room seems very sensitive to damage by minute amounts of water. Hotel threatened to charge us $30 for damage to floor that we didn’t do. They eventually acquiesced, but the incident was unpleasant nonetheless.
- Aruna (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay. It is at prime location. Walking distance to most of the locations. Beautiful township.
- Felipe (8/5): - Great location
- PatK719 (10/5): Nice Stay in Miraflores - Lovely hotel with large spacious rooms and baths. Breakfast is very nice with choices for every taste. Hotel is located in a nice part of the city called Miraflores. It’s good location is near restaurants and walking distance to parks and beach.
- Stephen B (10/5): - Good location in Miraflores near Barranco. Lively area.
Arranged shuttle through Hotel before I arrived at Lima Int'l Airport, important to me because my flight arrived late at night. Everything worked smoothly, was met just outside baggage claim, driven directly to Hotel.
- Beth (10/5): - The staff here is lovely and works hard to take great care of each guest.
- andream0402 (8/5): A great option - This hotel was extremely clean and run professionally. The rooms were large with a separate small dining area and tea/ coffee making facilities and a fridge. The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet- we were on the 5th floor.
Breakfast was good with cereals, fruit and hot food.
The location is walkable to the beachfront 15-20 minutes.
- issa (10/5): - Clean.
- sailorann (8/5): Wonderful experience at Joelle hotel in Lima. - I travelled with my husband for a tour starting in Lima. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were huge with excellent facilities and huge bathroom.
Location is right near the main tourist area with lots of shops and restaurants. If you like walking it’s about 15 min walk to the beach.
- Svetlana (10/5): - We stayed a third time in this hotel. Very convenient location and helpful stuff. Special thanks to Carlos . He was very helpful with upgrading our room when we called a couple of weeks before arrival. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
- Veneto55 (4/5): One night stay in freezing cold hotel - The hotel public areas ie Reception, Hallway from room to lift and Breakfast area were freezing cold and the bedroom heater did not work.
The noise from the traffic outside could be heard in the rooms. Definitely did not have windows fitted to shut out the noise.
- Hemang (10/5): - We arrived at 2am.
Staff and room was perfect.
Location is perfect for many sights and restaurants.
- Debra (10/5): - We arrived after midnight & was impressed with how every stage, from airport pickup through check in was exactly right. Staff so friendly. Rooms clean. The hotel is in easy walking distance to many fun things.
- thatnytraveler (8/5): Almost Perfect - Great hotel. Comfortable beds nice size rooms and good amenities. Love the location in Lima too. The one thing I did not like is the deep jacuzzi tubs they chose and the danger to get in and out of them was terrifying! I did come to Lima for the jacuzzi tube so a walk-in shower would have been just right in my opinion. I also love the fact they have outlets clearly marked for 220V vs 110V that was a special touch and much appreciated! tiny elevators but everyone wore their mask but I took the stairs constantly. In-room amenities wash clothes, room safe, hair dryer, TV, free wifi, blackout curtains, table and chairs, luggage rack, mini-refrigerator, coffee/tea station, daily housekeeping, heater and A/C, extra blankets, desk, and table and chairs. Rooms have hardwood floors with area carpet.
- Y3115VRleek (8/5): Nice hotel - A nice place to stay that is near places to see and good restaurants nearby, all with in walking distance. The rooms are spacious and comfortable beds. There is a safe and an mini fridge (contents at an addition cost).
Nice hot breakfast and the internet was free and worked well.
- Agustina (10/5): - Excellent, and good location.
- Vincent (10/5): Great location - Great location!
- kathleenkregel (10/5): Beautiful Hotel in Miraflores - My husband and I recently stayed in Lima, Peru and at this particular hotel for 4 nights. They have a lovely breakfast buffet. It was close walking distance to anything and everything. Downhill all the way to the waterfront. Many shops and restaurants are located there. We found a grocery store close by and a place that did our laundry for a great price. The hotel has a small pool on the roof and it was never busy while we were enjoying it. The elevator is great but we enjoyed taking the circular stairs. The hotel willingly stored one of our suitcases while we left for 5 nights and was very helpful in giving directions to wherever we needed to go.
- 106jos_s (8/5): Nice hotel - We enjoyed 3 nights in very nice and confortable room.the breakfast was very good.hotel offer free Pisco Sour.
The location of the hotel is good.Is not far shopping area, Mercado artesanal and
Larcomar shopping.
- KEVLOVESJULES (8/5): close to tourist area - Comfortable hotel in the tourist area. Short walk to ocean and a short walk to shops and supermarket. Breakfast was good. A coupe of close restaurants for dinner. Beds were comfortable and staff were very helpful.
- bates70213 (10/5): Beautiful section of Lima - Excellent location, helpful staff, great breakfasts. Many interesting places within walking distance of the hotel. Rooms were larger than expected and in A1 condition. Parque Kennedy is alive with music, food, booths of trinkets, and cats!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good hotel in Lima. Helpfull staff, good breakfast, large Room, clean, good location.
- Michelle K. (6/5): - The beds were extremely uncomfortable. So hard like sleeping on the floor. Also why do hotels all over the world insist on using Duvets, no matter the weather and temperature conditions. It makes almost impossible to control sleeping temperature.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Location was good. Staff was not helpful. Bathroom was very dirty. There was no shampoo in the bathroom. I was not happy with staff.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - My flight was cancelled and I had no WIFI to go on line and cancel my reservation. I had hoped the hotel would work with me but they did not. It's alot of money to lose. I recomend a 24 hour cancellation police. In the future I will book only hotels that off a 24 hour cancellation policy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great service and help with our stay there , their restaurant and breakfast are excellent as well as their staff .
- Verified traveler (10/5): Will definitely come back - Good location (although a bit noisy), service, wifi, breakfast. Room was exceptional.
- Susan (10/5): Would stay again - Very nice facility and attentive service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location is great. I block from major shopping and 55 blocks from Larco Mar shopping mall. Breakfast good. Didn't eat dinner here but prices were reasonable. Staff very helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good value for a decent hotel. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The Concierge was helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location, lovely staff, very good breakfast buffet
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice hotel and accommodations -- recommended...
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We liked the location. Close to good restaurants and close to Larcomar. The room we had was very nice.
- ZYGMUND (4/5): Poor ability to solve their problems - Air conditioning wasn’t working first day, and it was hot and humid. I asked it be fixed on first day; it was not. Requested again prior to 2nd night, again no fix. Finally, after my wife had already gone to bed, they offered to change rooms for us—- too late for comfort. They gave us a fan, which helped.
This suggests that staff are either poorly trained or don’t have sufficient management support.
Aside from this, as others have noted, pretty basic arrangement. No tissues, room layout not great. We have stayed in much better hotels in Peru in same category.
- Jacob (4/5): Disappointment at Jose Antonio Lima - Area hotel is at very positive, nice people traffic at night and nice restaurants in area, safe area to stay. Complete disappointment with this property, Hotel front desk very unpleasant, no tissues in room, no bottle water provided, 8 Soles per bottle where down the street you pay 1.5 Sol at grocery store. old furniture in dining area, food average (-) for breakfast. beds uncomfortable, A/C did not work first night repaired on 2nd night. You do better at other hotels at the price they charge.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice and friendly staff! Small rooms but adequate.
- Marianne (8/5): - Good moderate priced hotel. Very central and helpful staff.
- Laura (10/5): - Lovely people and room was great and had speedy wifi service
- Barbara (8/5): - located in the convenient, central location to many atractions.
- Ellie (10/5): - Well situated in Miraflores-many parks, restaurants and the water within walking distance. Staff very helpful with directions, recommendations (excellent), taxis, etc.
- CheeLim (10/5): Great hotel near restaurants & main shopping area - We were upgraded from Hotel Jose Antonio at 28 de Julio to Jose Antonio Deluxe Hotel at Calle Bellavista. This hotel was close to everything - restaurants, supermarkets, places to arrange tours and was only 15-20 minutes walk to the beach. We enjoyed the area as I think it was much better than the original hotel area but they are about 10 minutes walking from one to the other hotel.
- Jhlibrarian (8/5): - Staff is very friendly & helpful - important after 17+ hours of travel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Check in was late duetoflight delay. This wasnoproblem. Polite. Helpful. Friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very convenient location - Very convenient location because the Airport Express bus stops right outside the entrance. The Airport Express bus is very efficient and therefore this is a major advantage for non-drivers. Reasonably near Lacoma mall which has lots of food options and a supermarket.
- Linda (10/5): Nice hotel. Great people. Great service and food. - Very accommodating staff. Great restaurant! Room was very clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable, convenient hotel - Hotel is very comfortable, It is at a very convenient location, close to top restaurants and shops in the Miraflores district.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice hotel. Breakfast had a lot of choices. Hotel was near bus lines for access to the historic area of Loma. Rooms were very clean and adequate size.
- Ashley (10/5): Great place to stay - Hotel was everything we could have wanted. Excellent location, brilliant staff, the visit exceeded our expectations.
- chris (8/5): Good hotel close to Miraflores - Clean hotel , reasonably good buffet breakfast , rooms clean , air con a little noisy and old , in room safe but little hit and miss to use .
