• Abbu (1/5): - Nothing My stay here was about 15 mins at reception were I had to endure rude and arrogant staff who thought that I was an idiot. The receptionist demanded cash payment as according to him my card was not working. I asked him to try again and watched carefully. The problem was not with my card but his machine which was not enabled for international cards. The receptionist them questioned how I could travel without cash. I left the premises and found accommodation elsewhere. I later discovered that it was school holidays and many hotels where out. These guys were demanding cash as not all payments were being declared for tax purposes. This hotel should ve removed from your site.

• Anand (1/5): Horrible surroundings, terrible customer service, tiniest of rooms is a shi*t show called Nook. - Nothing… it is right opposite of a spooky cemetery. Around 2.2 km from the temple and major attractions. The location was spooky, staff behaved like they were doing us a favour Having checked in at 10 pm we had requested for a delayed checkout by an hour or two.

All of it, stinky room, dirty bathroom with lots of dead cockroachess 🪳 moulded bucket and jug, broken shower, bedding used by previous clients which has so many different kind of curry and ithar stains...smell was horrible, my friends ame were fully awake to avoid insects and worried about bed bugs..worst night stay ever......

• Poonam (4/5): - When we checked into the room the sheets were very dirty with fresh stains. They hadnt been changed. The place is very noisy due to traffic outside.

• Verified traveler (2/5): hotel facing graveyard - This hotel is not suitable for tourists at all. It is located on the main road and very noisy. The windows are not sound proof guests comfort is seriously overlooked. I don’t understand how you Expedia has the audacity to market this hotel in the first place.
• CHANDAR (6/5): The Nook Madurai - Needs Improvement - Room was very small; Better to take your own towels - very old and perhaps not renewed after hotel inauguration;
• Kathryn (6/5): Very nice stay until they double charged me - I was initially happy to have stayed in Hotel The Nook about 1km away from the train station, as it was still very easy / quick to get into central Madurai ( I love walking everywhere) but much more quiet and away from groups of tourists. The staff were friendly and efficient and my room was very comfortable. Wi-fi, however, was very slow and patchy and when I mentioned this - esp as it's more of a business hotel - the answer was simply that as it was the end of the month, they must have used all their data and it would be better at the start of the next month. Not really the response I was looking for nor helpful considering I was departing the next day. What then happened was, as I was rushing to check out to make a sleeper train, they asked me for payment. I thought I had pre-paid via Expedia and told them this but didn't have time to go searching in my phone for the booking details (plus, as wi-fi didn't work, I couldn't access this information regardless!). I have consequently found out that indeed I had paid Expedia and so ended up double paying for the accommodation. Very displeased. I am now in talks with Expedia to get my money back.
