Guest Reviews
- Trish (1/5): This business no longer exists yet takes your money - 0 When I arrived to check in, a man that had brought the place months ago said it doesn’t run as a retreat anymore. When I called the number for the property, the lady was telling me that the retreat hasn't been open since May 2025 and that booking.com had been informed many times. I am demanding a full refund as I had to find alternate accommodation last minute and offering me a quarter of my money back is unacceptable. Not happy.
- Tanya (1/5): No longer open - No longer open. Don't book. Money refunded without question. Not open any longer.
- Bruce (8/5): Very good -
- Lynette (5/5): Passable -
- Cameron (10/5): A last minute booking that turned into a dream stay. Will be back to stop and explore the property soon! - Beautiful location, fabulous hosts! That I couldn’t stay longer!
- David (4/5): Disappointing will not stay again and will not recommend. - Quite location No fresh water to shower. Purchased bottle water to drink. No t.v. Kids sized bed in one room.
Horrible breakfasts. Same both mornings. Dried out sausages.
- Holten (8/5): Very good - Peace and quiet
- Kwong (7/5): Pleasant overnight stay and well rested on the next day. Friendly staff - 1. Good breakfast
2. Good place for unwinding
3. Spacious and natural green surrounds 1. Off track hard to find in the fading daylight
2. Hard to access even with a 4WD
- Tony (3/5): Owners were pleasant although sleeping and living space not what we expected. - Close to Gympie Not advertised but needed to share living space with other customers, shared use of small fridge filled with beer.
- Wei (7/5): We would go back again. Hosts very hospitable. - Breakfast was excellent and the hosts even offered to do an early breakfast prior to going to see the dolphins. The whole kitchen arrangement was a bit strange. The microwave was upstairs but all the kitchen equipment was downstairs. Some guests came the day after us and just cooked in the kitchen. It’s not clear if we could have done that. It would have been more convenient. Traffic noise surprisingly noisy.
- Shane (4/5): Not for us - - Too hot, no air, no screens on windows and it was like a hostel. Not a 2 bed suit.
- Fay (8/5): Very good - So quiet and easy to relax The bed set up was ok, but perhaps not good for seniors
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Betts (8/5): Very good -
- Lynda (7/5): Good -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (10/5): Hideaway gem - The lovingly maintained, rustic family holiday home feel was very relaxing
- Azazel (10/5): Lovely and relaxing - It was peaceful and the hosts lovely Have no complaints
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Stuart (8/5): Friendly hosts in rural setting close to Gympie - Rural setting close to Gympie: Easy access to Gympie: very quiet/ open plan home surrounded by bush with wildlife: very friendly hosts Nothing
- Damien (8/5): Run by lovely people - The hosts and the breakfast. The early morning sun rising up through the valley over the veranda. Not being able to lock the sliding door. Two young children with us.
- Kelly (7/5): Good -
- Kris (8/5): Very good -
- Rhoda (4/5): Chose not to spend our second night there. - Delicious breakfast & perfectly on time. Host waited up for us when we arrived late. Lovely area downstairs. It’s not clear in the description that these are all rooms upstairs in one house. I really thought they were individual cottages with a common area. our room was a bit stuffy when we arrived (warm day) so we tried to open the sash window which promptly fell down again. There was no fly wire / mosquito netting on the windows either. We travelled up for a wedding and unfortunately there’s not even a cupboard to hang clothes - just one bar to hang a few things in the bathroom. The room needs sealing also (gaps around door) to stop vermin entering!! We were very disappointed overall.
- Pichanan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffery (7/5): Good -
- Karen (9/5): Superb - The bed was very comfortable the brekkie was fantastic and the location was great for what we needed The lack of signs in the dark to find out turnoff
- Shishira (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely host with good view and good breakfast.
- Chooi (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean property, could walk around without shoes on and feet is.still clean. Very friendly host. Nothing
- Mclaughlin (8/5): Very good -
- Parsons (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was really nice even the owners and very clean and the view was amazing Nothing
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - It was clean, comfortable, quiet, good food, friendly and helpful service Lack of lights makes it hard to find at night (definitely no need to change tho. That would just add unnecessary light pollution)
- Carine (9/5): Very nice - Secluded location, great host with comfortable beds with great views.
- Fiona (8/5): really lovely quiet country family friendly atmosphere. it did work out quite expensive for me as I was charged extra fo - comfy homely setting. lots of books to choose from!
great that breakfast is included in the price! no kitchen facility for families to cook. a couple of cracks in wall and ceiling
- Robert (10/5): will be back excellent - secluded and quiet your in nature
- Nikki (10/5): Short stop over on road trip with toddler. Very comfortable & beautiful location. - Such a beautiful place to stay with hot breakfast in the morning. Wish we could have stayed longer. Nil
- Duka (10/5): Exceptional - Peaceful for a good night's rest after a hard day's work. Nothing, definitely better than sleeping in a motel next to a busy highway with trucks running up and down.
- Jessica (10/5): Lovely property, wonderful hosts, home cooked breakfast, great place to chill out :) - The hosts were absolutely beautiful and very welcoming. We travelled down from Brisbane and they stayed up for a late check in. Rooms were comfortable, plenty room for a family to stay. Love the forest/bush outlook. Breakfast was cooked and served by the hosts, delicious.
- Anonymous (9/5): very good - location and the owners. signage
- Tim (8/5): Very good - David and Jeanette have made a lovely nursery on their piece of land
- Terry (9/5): Superb - Hidden away in a picturesque location. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable. We were also spoilt by being served a wonderful breakfast. A recommended stay while travelling through the Gympie area.
- Christine (4/5): Disappointing - Simple farm stay just outside Gympie. The set up of the accommodation is very different than I expected. There are 4 rooms upstairs all coming off a common area. Which was ok, as we were the only family staying, wouldn't be great if you had to share though.
The facilities were very basic, and not very homely
It was cold when we visited and the place isn't set up for the cold weather well.
