- erandak185 (2/5): Terrible stay at Pearl Grand - We stayed at Pearl Grand Hotel last week, and unfortunately, our arrival experience was very uncomfortable. During check-in, we met a staff member named Piyal who took our luggages. Right away, he told us that the room assigned to us was “not good” and not suitable to stay in, but didn’t clearly explain why. Without us even seeing the room, he went back to the reception and arranged a different room on his own. We trusted his suggestion and went to the new room. However, once inside, he didn’t leave as expected. Instead, he stayed in the room and started asking for a tip as I think, saying that the original room was damaged. This was confusing and made us feel quite uncomfortable. Even after I gave him some money, he still didn’t leave and seemed to expect more. At that point, I think I had to firmly ask him to leave and close the door. My wife was also very uncomfortable during this whole situation. Sadly, this experience really affected the start of our stay. It’s disappointing because first impressions matter a lot in hospitality. I hope the management looks into this and takes necessary action to prevent similar situations for future guests.

- Jennet1960 (8/5): Super friendly hotel and centrally located - The most valued thing is the friendly and helpful staff at Reception, the restaurant and room service and cleaning. To me it's indeed a 3 star hotel but with 5* service. Amila, pictured here, made beautiful, adorable towel art for me, which I found very touching. He always attentively asked me if I needed anything in my room too. First class service! Also, Gayan, the technical man was really helpful too. The breakfast buffets I enjoyed a lot as there was much variety, although one has to be careful re any added chilli! 😄 I have truly enjoyed my 2-week, half board stay overall. Service is king and this hotel did not disappoint. Thank you everyone at the Grand Pearl Rathna hotel. 🙏🏼💕

- Lumbini (1/5): Overall, the stay did not meet basic expectations and was not worth the price paid. - The location was convenient for a short stay, with easy access to nearby areas in Colombo. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The room maintenance was poor, with water leakage from the sink and drainage issues. The bathroom had no basic amenities provided for use. Housekeeping standards were below expectations, and the facilities did not justify the price paid for the stay.

- Anika Khan (6/5): Staff were very helpful, but the place needs more care - The staff were always accommodating to our needs even though the place could be better in other ways. They were also accommodating to late checkout for one of our rooms cause the flight was late tjat day. Thanks for their services. The place wasn’t very clean, and we had to ask for our bedsheets to be changed as soon as we arrived (to their credit, this was done quickly). Some amenities were dirty, like the ironing board and iron, and others didn’t match what was shown in the bathroom photos. The hotel room pictures seem to have been taken when the hotel was brand new; now, the condition doesn’t reflect them at all.

- shahab mz (1/5): Worst stay ever! - They had nothing and it was my worst stay ever... I don't recommend ruining your holidays at this place do not mess your holiday with this place.... I wish I never booked this property, we saw good and clean photos, we booked a high floor room with good view, we went there with our heavy backpacks, they checked us in with an hour delay, and first they gave us a room at 3rd floor not a high floor room and it was a dark room with a messy view of a destroyed building, we complained to reception they were not helpful and they were just telling sorry! then we said its like you are promoting a mercedes but you sell a tuk tuk...then they changed the room to 6th floor but it was same view and the room was not so clean, bed sheets were full of stains and hairs with pillows having some bad smell... the breakfast was not consistent and at some days the kitchen even not providing simple things even, they apear like a quality hotel but basically value of the place is like a very local homestay but charging you as a high-end facility.

The check in was very slow and took almost 45 minutes for our group of 10 persons. The carpet outside the room and common area had a bad odour. The carpet in the room was old and dirty. The bed linen was OK but looked old. The locker in the room did not work. There were no towels in the room and they took over half an hour to bring them when requested. The ironing board in the room was old and rickety and also had burn marks. The washroom and shower area looked old and needs cleaning and upgrade. The shower was OK but very low pressure for hot water. The breakfast area was good and the variety of items was very good. Staff were good and courteous. Will not recommend until the hotel is upgraded.

There was a manager there who couldnt care less about guests. Requested water (that hotel issues each day) am --- came only at 6.30pm. Wanted change of towels came to know washing machine broken. Restaurant has a menu with about 40 items - can only get about 8 or 9: Wouldnt go there again. Sorry. Room cleaning didnt take place each day. Needs a good reinvention.

Na plus zdecydowanie basen, w którym przyjemnie się spędzało czas. Niestety w pokoju nie było ręczników, a także nie otrzymaliśmy popielniczki, mimo że prosiliśmy o nią w recepcji.

- Iain (3/5): It is a dump. - Leaving the hotel and knowing I will never go back is the best thing about the property With an average rating of 6.8 expectations were not high. Mold smells, smells of tobacco, musty smells permeated the lift the room and the corridors. It seems to be run by people who have never stayed in a hotel before. The business isn’t based on keep guests happy and generating repeat business. You won’t stay there twice but the memories of nasty sights and smells will stay with you.

- Aubrey (1/5): The property needs in overhaul and I would not recommend this place to anyone at its kind of a stand - The welcome drink and the staff at the front! The entire hotel definitely need to complete upgrade the curtains in the bedroom are torn and falling apart, the property, is not very clear, the hallways need a new paint job, and it smelled really bad. Also, there was paint that was chipping everywhere, and it looked like it was haunted. The bedrooms need to be redone, alll the curtains are ripping and falling apart. The washrooms need to be brought up to standard and uh, the showers did not even work properly on top of it, all, the ended up smoking the entire place, while the the guests were everywhere and people could barely breathe. The ac was not working properly and then when we asked the maintenance people to come it took over two hours they did not show up, so we ended up booking at a much more reputed hotel and leaving right away. Further, note, I will never recommend this property to anyone until the health bureau gets a hold of this place and does something about it

I recommend choosing a high-floor room for the best experience. Special thanks to the General Manager, Mr. Tony, and the Operations Manager, Mr. Minan—they made our stay very comfortable and unforgettable. The reception and housekeeping staff also fulfilled all our requests without hesitation. The rooftop restaurant served delicious food, and the staff were very kind and helpful. Finally, I would like to thank each and every one who made our stay so comfortable. Highly recommended! Hope to see you again.

- justbhagya (8/5): Hotel with great value for money in the heart of Colombo - I stayed for one night in this hotel with a friend of mine. Room only was only 15,900 Rs, which is a great price compared to similar hotels. Also the hotel is located in the bamba junction which is very convenient Pros: 1. Rooms are very clean and cozy 2. Bathrooms are spacious and clean 3. Very nice pool with a great view 4. The bar area was really nice and drinks a very affordable.has great views too. 5. The older thin gentleman at the front office was very nice. Although I wasn't dressed well at that time, he was very respectful and professional with me 6. All rooms have balconies Cons: 1. I requested a dental kit for 3 times but never received 2. Breakfast was bit overpriced compared to the spread they offered
- Mohamed (4/5): over all was not happy with the hotel. - the location was good. Had many cafes and restaurants in walking distance. one of the room had to be changed due to cockroaches. There were no dental items in the toilets. The bottles with shampoo and soap could not be used as the bottles were difficult to pour out the contents. The staffs at the counter were very rude on initial check in.
- Hussain (10/5): Exceptional - If we need any assistance like transportation, get good cooperation from the hotel. Recomended to stay. 10/10 Mini safe and TV is not working in room. And if we need to take some sneaks in the room, there are no sneaks or soft drinks except water in the mini bar. Anyways, excelent, 10/10.

The staff name Raj, who is bellboy, he was very helpful, he took care my luggage’s and store it, advise about safety outside and made me feel comfortable when I checked into hotel and when I checked out. Very nice happy person who took care me well.

- Journey284247 (2/5): Bad experience at Grand Pearl at Rathna - Absolutely not! Don't even think about staying at this dump! The room smelled like a public bathroom, the staff was more interested in their phones than helping me, and the parking situation was a complete nightmare. Oh, and did I mention the price? It's a rip-off! I've stayed in much nicer places for half the cost. Save yourself the hassle and find somewhere else to stay. You'll be glad you did.
