Guest Reviews
- Gjergji (2/5): - Overall old condition of the room, looks different on the photos online, poor breakfast, expensive.
- John (10/5): - Small, but clean room with a good shower. Very good air conditioning. Efficient online check-in and friendly staff. Area was quiet with good access to the Metro and buses.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, comfortable hotel in great location - The hotel was perfect for our stay in Paris. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was modern with a big walk in shower. The room was small but that is to be expected in Paris. We didn't have the breakfast because there are many bakeries, cafés in the neighbourhood. The hotel is on the border of the 13th and 5th Arrondissements so handy for the Quartier Latin and has bus and metro stations to travel further. The staff were friendly and helpful. We got a very good price through Hotels.com
Highly recommend
- Marcie (10/5): - Wonderful place, friendly staff, comfortable bed and pillows, great location, reasonable price....what more could you ask for! Merci Beaucoup ☺️
- Amanda (10/5): - Good value for money lovely staff very friendly
- Charles (10/5): - My biggest takeaway from this visit was that Antwone was 5 stars. He was welcoming, made us feel comfortable, and his English was exceptional. He is definitely this hotel’s All-star.
- Niki (8/5): - Great value modern comfortable clean hotel. Good breakfast and all day coffee and tea was a nice touch.
- nathalie (10/5): - Small but perfect for just one person so i was. Clean, modern, the woman at the desk was very friendly, and walkable to restaurants and shop.
- Kristalys (10/5): - My accommodations were nice and clean. I liked the view.
- Ronan (10/5): Good value for money for Latin quarter - I stay in Paris quite frequently and would say this hotel is the best value for money I’ve had in the Latin quarter. Our room was an end one so very spacious for Paris, really large bed which felt bigger than a double, excellent air con, lovely Juliet balcony overlooking the street but really quiet when the window was shut. Nice breakfast area with fresh produce and a cool decor. Would definitely stay again.
J'y retournerais.
- Lars (8/5): - Hyggelig personale som ytet god service.
Rommet var lite og trangt
- Savanah (10/5): THE BEST STAY EVER!! I can’t gatekeep. Amazing - I had the BEST experience at this hotel. It’s the perfect area and neighborhood to stay in and the staff are nothing but incredible, kind, and personable. I went with my best friend for my birthday and when I told them it was my birthday they surprised me and left a birthday candle, muffins, balloons with cat faces on it and a handwritten card. I was in shock. The first girl was especially sweet and I am going to email to get her contact info so that we can become friends if she ever comes to New York City or I come back. :) & the day that I left the guy at the front was so funny and very handsome. Maybe I’ll take his number too ;) haha. Definitely check out the restaurant right across the street. Also a bunch of friendly and personable locals we became friends with. 10/10 all around.
- Elaine (10/5): Would stay here again - We loved our stay at Hotel Korner. Yes the rooms are compact but we had a nice balcony which opened onto the road but provided fresh air and a refreshing breeze. With the doors closed we experienced no noise and slept very sound.
The bathroom was very clean and the shower modern and powerful.
We enjoyed breakfast nearby at the local brasseries so can not comment on the hotel breakfast.
Staff were welcoming and kind and luggage storage easy and efficient.
A lovely safe location and would definitely stay here again.
- Thierry (8/5): - Séjour sympa, mais chambre exigüe.
- Rita (10/5): - This was a really nice place, affordable and accessible.
- Trine (6/5): - Nice staff and cosy atmosphere! But the breakfast was SO POOR, not worth half the price. Soon empty of bread, cheese, eggs...Would stay again, but with no breakfast.
- Nathalie (10/5): Une excellente nuit - Accueil formidable !
- Gurmeet (8/5): - Room was well equipped, decor was rather grey and too dark, would suggest a lighter colour palette this would make the room feel even bigger. Very close to the natural history museum. Good places to eat near by pizza cozy, recommend bakery MAISON LANDEMAINE MONGE is only 5 minute walk from the hotel and local places to eat near by for lunch or breakfast
- Maria (8/5): - Central and easy to find but rooms are the size of a closet. Glad we had a bathroom! Modern room and furnishings. Would stay again.
- Wilhelmina (8/5): - Goede locatie, schone en nette kamer.
- Suzanne (2/5): Avoid - I don’t know where that picture is from but it’s not this place!! Room was like a box and the hotel smelt like a hostel. Weird reception service too. Avoid
- Richard (8/5): - Good location
Lite slitet men helt ok.
- Cindy (10/5): - Really nice property with friendly and helpful staff. Clean, spacious room, nice bathroom. Good coffee. Highly recommend
- Sumeer (8/5): - Good location, very friendly and helpful staff.
- Susan (8/5): - 2 good Metro options, friendly staff.
- Jackie (8/5): - We enjoyed 4 nights at this hotel. They win our Europe’s smallest lift award but at least there is one! 😃. The room was clean and cleaned daily and it was modern with plenty of space. We chose their triple room and there were only 2 of us. It had 2 small balconies overlooking a busy street. It was quiet and we felt safe. It is a bit away from the main attractions but we appreciate d that!
- Dawn (10/5): - Clean and affordable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very small room. - Very very small room. Totally overpriced.
The hotel had changed name since the booking but hadn't told us so we had difficulties finding it.
Unfriendly staff.
Long dark hairs in the bed. Can not recommend.
- Laura (10/5): - Let’s be clear - the twin room I stayed in was tiny. The elevator is minuscule. But the room was also clean and comfortable with a renovated bathroom and excellent shower. Staff was very welcoming and helpful, especially when I arrived. They offered restaurant tips and a nice little gift bag. The only complaint: the hotel name had changed since I booked and I spent five minutes in the street going in circles trying to find it. Surely the app could send an update?
- Simona (6/5): - Not very clean
- Michael (10/5): - Perfect hotel for this solo traveler during the Olympics! The room had AC and it was amazing, the neighborhood was cute and lots of walkable option for food and the metro. The staff was helpful and kind. Would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice hotel and very friendly staff.
- Soheil (8/5): - It was good overall
- Jorge (8/5): - Small room, but with terrace and very clean and comfortable. Would book again. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Maribel (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay here, stayed for four nights. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and responsive. Great location, walking distance to the botanical garden, Shakespeare and Company (30min), Notre Dame (30 min), many restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, etc. Walking around the neighborhood is pleasant and safe. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Also different metros available nearby. Felt safe as a solo female traveler. The lift is very small and the room is tiny, just good for one person, but it’s good for the price. Excellent view from the 5th floor. Free coffee and tea daily.
- Rebecca (10/5): Great stay! - We had a great stay here. The staff were incredibly friendly and our family room was a good size for Paris. We loved our little balcony! The shower was fantastic and the beds were very comfortable.
The hotel is in a great location - very convenient to metros and within walking distance to Jardin des Plantes.
- Brett (8/5): - Stayed in the family room with 4. The room had a sofa bed(2), double bed(2) and a separate single bed. Size of the room was good for Paris I thought and looked nice with 2 mini balconies. Shower was nice(overheat wand). Room looked nice overall. Carpet condition was average.
Little surprised no coffee/tea in the room but there was a little kettle. A/C worked. Mini elevator worked. Staff was friendly and accommodating, they made up the room early for us which was very nice.
Didn't eat breakfast there as it's hard to beat the excellent Boulangerie's close by. Would recommend checking those out.
Location of the hotel is excellent. Close to St. Marcel metro and a walking distance to rue mouffetard and the Pantheon and the area immediately around the hotel is nice as well. We woke up every morning to look down at a statue of Joan of Arc in the Boulevard below.
Actual branding of the hotel is a little different from what you see in google street view currently. It's something like the Korner Hotel St. Marcel.
- Gilbert (10/5): - Great location and loved my room.
- Shanyn (10/5): Great stay - Such a great stay! Quiet location with restaurants around. Walked most places, but could also easily take Metro.
- Imran (10/5): - Great stay
- Kristina (10/5): - Great hotel. The staff was very friendly, the room was a great size and had a small balcony. The bed was not comfortable and the streets were noisy but we would definitely stay again
- Natalie (10/5): - I almost didn’t book this hotel based on some of the low reviews. So glad I took a chance on this hotel cuz it’s a hidden gem!
This review is based on a solo traveler, so I can only comment on the twin size room.
First off… yes. The room is tiny, so if you expect that, you’ll be fine. It’s clean and modern and has everything you need — a comfortable bed, black out drapes, a modern bathroom with rain shower, table and chair and window that opens. The lift is not an elevator, so let’s get that outta the way. It’s a tiny lift to get you and your suitcase up the stairs if you’re not into walking. Most of the time I just used the stairs. Nbd.
The staff are super friendly and kind. The breakfast spread is amazing! Fresh pastries, bread, meat, cheese, jams, fruit, boiled eggs, tea and coffee. Exactly what you’d expect being in France.
The location is great! A quick walk to the metro, and lots of restaurants nearby.
I’m not sure what it would be like sharing a room, but for a solo traveler, it’s perfect! I would definitely come back.
- Mary (10/5): - Excellent staff. Family room was amazing!!!
- Amar (4/5): Poor cleaning, communication and services. - Hotel has renovation going on. We were not informed that we will not get breakfast on site until we reach their. Or no room keys till following day. Room was not cleaned properly and some panels inside the room was broken. Low lighting inside the room to hide poor condition and cleaning of the room.
The next day's cleaning was also bad even after informing reception. No consistent staff so no communication and possibly our messages were lost.
Not suitable for the family place. Kids were already panicking due to bed bug scenarios in Paris. Not having good service and clear communication is not appropriate.Especially when you are travelling with family.
Hotel needs to improve a lot.
- David (6/5): Perfect hotel for solo traveller - Good check in… was allowed to check in early…
Lift is very small..
room clean but small.
Perfect for one person..
- Jason (8/5): Gets the job done. - Room 305: small room but adequate for our needs. Tiny elevator and narrow hall/stairs. Staff was pretty rude at times. Neighborhood is decent.
- Rebecca (8/5): - Great spot for one or two nights, we stayed one night before flying out. Rooms are extremely small - I would not recommend staying here if you have a lot of luggage. Elevator is also single person capacity essentially. However the bed was very comfortable, rainfall shower was nice, staff were very friendly, accommodated a late checkout.
- Viviana (6/5): - Room was really small as well the elevator
- Loraine A (10/5): - The whole property and experience was outstanding! The staff are amazing. It really made our stay in Paris perfect!
- Ofelia (10/5): Great experience! - Hotel was great! The staff was wonderful! From check-in to cleaning and breakfast! Location was close to metro and walkable to center, but loved that it was a little removed from the tourist traps! Will stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The rooms were small but they did a nice job of using the space they had. The rooms were very clean and the staff was always friendly.
- KCK (6/5): - The room is very very small.
It was difficult to adjust the shower temperature to a comfortable level.
Because of this difficulty, the shower had to be run at a higher rather than a lower rate and that caused flooding of the bathroom floor which also seeped into the bedroom area.
- Alejandra (10/5): - Hotel staff is super friendly and helpful, they made our stay there unforgettable.
The hotel location is great, with lots of places to visit close by, the room was small but very cozy, we had everything we needed for a confortable stay there, breakfast was great, nice pastries and delicious croissants!!.
We will definitely go back to this hotel on our next trip to Paris, believe me the hotel staff makes it something extraordinary!!
- Kalle (10/5): Modern and clean Hotel - Modern and clean hotel. It was however quite small, but that’s the typical size for rooms in Paris. Nice location with cafes and bakeries nearby. Vert friendly staff as well👍👍
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very cute little hotel, relatively central, super clean. Nice bathroom. Just missing a coffee maker in the room. That was a huge problem for 5 days!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean. Super comfortable bed. Staff was very friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): typical tiny paris hotel - typical tiny paris hotel. very small room but aside form that nice and clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): OK for a short stay - Another small (and pricey!) Paris hotel. The service is nice, room very small, desk ridiculously small. I had a tiny balcony, though. Breakfast is a joke (no eggs?!). There is a small gym in the basement; very basic, but if you need one... Many restaurants + grocery shops around. Jardin des plantes is a few hunderd meters out (well, like 800). Public transport in vicinity.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Compact, but up to date and complete. - This was fine for a day or two and has everything you’d need, but be prepared for the size of the single rooms; extremely small. The elevator is a tight squeeze for one person and a small suitcase but the stairs are a good option. Even the hallway is very narrow. An easy short bus ride to the CDG airport train for the ride back after a 30€ cab into the city from Orly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice neighborhood hotel. - All of the front desk staff were friendly. Willing to help us, and gave us suggestions. Even though we were off the beaten path. It was easy to get on the train. 2 stations within walking distance. Restaurants nearby, a wonderful bakery across the street. Cozy, tiny rooms. But comfy bed. And super clean.
- Claudia (10/5): Romantic Paris getaway - Had an amazing stay at Hotel Saint-Marcel.
Very close to the Latin Quarter and all tourist parts of Paris.
The room was clean and everything very modern.
All staff were very polite and friendly.
Would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Paris.
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
Pleasing for a short, overnight stay
Lift was very small, location was good 5 minute walk from station
- Max (6/5): Nice, upgraded rooms but very compact - The hotel is clean, readily accessible (5-10 min walking distance to three different metro stations (two different metro lines). The bed was comfortable, nice down (or down alternative) pillows and bathroom with nice shower and all new hardware.
The staff was very nice and helpful and the place is kept very clean.
The place was very compact though. My room had a tiny balcony (not really usable), the double bed occupied over 80% of the room (less than 2 feet or about 0.5 meter between bed and three walls). A very tiny desk - actually more like a plank at one corner. No closet but shelves built around the bed (the pictures on hotel web site are very accurate). You get the idea. The hallways were very narrow, the elevator was tiny (myself and a carry on luggage all that would fit in it.
For me it was all fine because I only used to place for sleeping. However, if you're looking to relax in your room (or anywhere else in the hotel), you better look elsewhere (and probably pay a lot more).
- Konstantinos (10/5): Excellent accommodation for a city break out w/e. - We visited over the weekend and stayed in the hotel for one night.
Location is very convenient, only a couple of minutes away from the tube which offers direct connection to Gare du Nord, if you are using EuroStar.
Facilities where extremely clean and tidy.
Personnel was very polite and fluent in English too.
Breakfast was also included in the regular price.
On the flip side, to be perfectly fair, there is not enough free space in the room, particularly if you have big luggage. But this didn't compromise an excellent hospitality experience for w/e guests like us.
- Anne (10/5): Excellent hotel for a weekend trip - Our stay was absolutely amazing. The staff were lovely, helpful and informative, great buffet breakfast and beautiful rooms in a great location. Rooms are on the small side but for a weekend trip it was perfect. The beds were really comfortable and the waterfall shower was delightful.
- Hattie (10/5): Amazing hotel in the perfect location - My boyfriend and I (19 and 20) arrived in Paris late on Thursday evening and left on the Monday evening. Our flight didn’t land until 22:20 on our first day but the hotel accommodated for our late arrival and helped me figure out how to get from the airport to the hotel via email before the trip (we got the train). First impressions were of how friendly the staff were, the cleanliness and practicality of the room and how nice and safe the area was. We had the breakfast buffet every morning which was delicious with fresh croissants, bread, fruit, cheese and so on. Over our four day trip we did all the sights/attractions, such as the pantheon, Louvre, arc de triomphe, the Eiffel Tower etc. We walked to a lot of the places and if we couldn’t walk e.g to the Eiffel Tower, we got the metro which was a few minutes away from the hotel and is only €1.90 per journey. There are lots of restaurants, bakeries and bars located within walking distance which is perfect upon an evening and at a smaller price than that near the main attractions. We met many of the staff members and every single one of them was so friendly and accommodated all of our needs. Overall an amazing trip, in an amazing hotel located in an amazing area. 100% recomend :)
- Fiona (6/5): Hotel in front of bus n0 91, few blocks to subway - Rooms very small with minimum furniture (IKEA style). Shower, sink and toilet very clean. No instructions on how to turn the shower head on (A bit unusual for a US person).
No instructions on how to use the AC in the room so one has to guess and hope for the best.
Breakfast buffet is very minimum
Elevator very small (you have to send your suite cases by themselves and go up to get them
Reception desk is 3-4 feet from the front door
Staff VERY nice, helpful and accommodating. The staff is the reason I would recommend this hotel.
- Starlina (10/5): very nice hotel - I had the pleasure to stay at this hotel during a business trip and I was amazed by their customer service and giving the extra mile to the clients. I highly recommend it .
- cake (10/5): Lovely small Parisian hotel - I just booked this hotel with 7 friends for a girls weekend away. The hotel beat our expectations in every way. The rooms were beautifully done with lovely comfortable beds and pillows, great blackout curtains, great showers. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location with lots of bars and restaurants nearby.
- Alex (8/5): Small but comfortable - Short walk from Les Gobelins metro station and on a busy road with plenty of amenities. Room is very small but like a lot of rooms in Paris. In room facilities were very good such as hairdryer, to and safe. Only negative for me was that our room was on the first floor facing over the front, although there was double glazing it felt like there were no windows at all with all the traffic noise, police sirens etc. Luckily we were that tired from exploring Paris that we were able to sleep through it. Would choose to stay there again as was a good base from which to explore Paris.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pleasant stay, the room was very clean and the staff very friendly. The only disadvantage is the size of the room - not very comfortable.
- Andrea (10/5): - Location is great, is small but cozy and the staff is fantastic. I highly recommend it
- Saf (10/5): Perfect hotel stay - I loved this hotel. It was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was just what we needed. Everything was clean and fresh everyday. We met the owner and he was very genuine. Would go back in a heartbeat !!
- Lisa (8/5): Great staff - The staff here are very helpful and kind. They made the stay worthwhile. The rooms are very dark, with black carpet and walls. Good wifi in room and a small gym downstairs.
- Rebecca (8/5): - The staff at Hotel Saint-Marcel were extremely helpful and friendly. They offered several restaurant suggestions (all of which were really good) and offered help navigating the metro as well. The hotel is quite small, with a teeny tiny elevator and very narrow halls and the rooms are equally so. However, the use of space was excellent and we felt comfortable the whole time. We will stay here again!
- Adri (8/5): - The hotel is in a good location, with few metro stops closed by. The room is relatively small but well laid out so that there is enough space to accommodate two people. The bathroom was very clean and the shower has a decent size. I will definitely stay there on my next trip in Paris.
- Judy (8/5): A great place to stay. - Our experience was positive staying here. The hotel is located out of the tourist area so it gave us a chance to see Paris without the tourism yet it was easy to catch the metro into the main attractions. It's located very close walking distance to Rue Cler, my favorite market street, and the Latin
- Jaimee (10/5): Excellent customer service - I was blown away by the owner. He parked my car for me in the tight squeeze in the parking lot, he worked with me to make a cafe latte because that's not on the menu in France lol and, when we were leaving at 4am, way before their breakfast service, he had a table set up with fresh croissants, coffee and orange juice. That's customer service folks. You rarely see an owner doing the work he hired folks to do.
The hotel - very cute, tiny rooms. Was a nice stay. The shower is ah-mazing with the water coming from the ceiling (forgot the name of this). Breakfast was good!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Another overpriced hotel in central Paris - This was just another overpriced place in central Paris (we are not even talking the heart of it). The room was very small, to the point that I was not able to open the suitcase. My room was facing a busy avenue, but noise was not a problem. Bathroom was nice and clean (so was the room, btw). No coffee, no tea. WiFi was hilariously slow. No facilities at the hotel. There was a bar with, apparently, a good selection of wine. Many restaurants nearby, no major tourist sites on the other hand. Public transport a few blocks away (no big deal). Breakfast was French stile: a bit of cold cuts and croissants. Extremely price for the value (€15). In addition, it starts extremely late (7:30!). Staff very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Petite economical Hotel - This is a very small hotel which is located in a nice part of Paris. The rooms are clean but very small. I liked the fact that you could open up your window to get fresh air. The staff is extremely helpful, polite, and efficient. I would stay here again if I returned to Paris.
- Agnes (8/5): Tiny gem - The room was tiny but every inch was functional, with built-in shelves, space for luggage under the bed, little desk. Recently remodeled with top notch bathroom. Super comfortable bed. Convenient location between 2 metro station, nice bakery across the road for your breakfast needs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hotel! I'd certainly like to stay again.
- London (10/5): Great hotel with excellent customer service - Was in Paris for 4 days/3 nights for Paris Fashion Week. Wanted something near the exhibition hall and found this hotel on hotels.com.
We were greeted by 3 very friendly & helpful staff, one of whom we subsequently found out was the owner. The rooms are quite compact, French style, and I was able to upgrade to a larger room for a nominal charge. Throughout our stay, we were made to feel very welcome, were offered a complimentary glass of wine and were recommended a superb local French restaurant for dinner. Considering that we only used the hotel for sleeping & breakfast, it really made the weekend more enjoyable - we have booked again for March when we return for another trade show.
Thoroughly recommend this hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): Well-maintained hotel with ridiculous small rooms - We stayed at Hotel Saint-Marcel for two nights and really liked the location. It's walking distance to three different metro lines (5, 6, 7), one RER line (C) so we could easily travel or walk wherever we wanted. The staff was very friendly, the hotel well-maintained, but unfortunately we didn't like our room at all. It was easily the smallest hotel room we ever stayed in, and for that reason we wouldn't come back when we visit Paris next time.
- Sheila (8/5): Clean, modern, but tiny room - Only negative is that my room was tiny - about 2 feet all around the bed, nothing more. This was billed as a double room, but it would have been very difficult to have two people in this room. I was only there at night, so it was ok for me.
- kerri (2/5): - I know its Europe, but the room was simply too small... barely fit the bed. Tiniest elevator, my luggage and I didn't even fit in it together. The red wall was an odd material and not aesthetically pleasing. Front desk help was okay, everywhere else I stayed in Paris for the couple of weeks was more helpful and accommodating.
- Eduardo (10/5): Cute hotel & friendly staff - I stayed for 2 nights with my wife and 2 kids. we got a junior suite, it was very comfortable. staff is very friendly and help you with directions.
I would stay again.
Thanks
