Guest Reviews
- Misty (10/5): - Wonderful location, laid back vibe and a great pool, hot tub and sauna! Brad was very helpful and kind. Looking forward to my next stay!
- Jeffery (8/5): - Smaller, quiet place a little outside the main strip. Price was great, and there was a nice hot tub and heated pool. However, the room was a little stale. We found a few small patches of mold on the toilet seat, one of the comforters had a very large brown stain, and by the end of the night both my wife and I were stuffed up with sore throats.
- Nicole (8/5): - It’s very convenient with easy parking. And the bedding was very comfortable
- Jaime (4/5): - I know I booked our stay last minute, but for the price I paid per night, there was no maid service and we were supposed to reuse our towels because they didn’t have enough cleaned. We were told they were out of towels for us to use at the pool and told we had to find our own. There was minimal toilet paper and we had to request more. They didn’t really clean our room as there was a large spider web under the table for our luggage and a spider in our tub. The day we were leaving we had no hot water as there was a gas leak that needed to be repaired.
- Nicole (8/5): - Definitely needs a bit of updating with the decor, landscaping, and updates to the wifi. Some things were in need or repairs as well.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Needs updating, not prepared for guests - Everything very outdated. No microwave or coffee pot in room. Comforters are the same from the early 90s. When we checked in on the 4th of July (very busy holiday) we were told the pool wasn’t ready and the hot tub needed to be filled. Everything smelled “old” and mildewy, ceiling in the bathroom was peeling from water damage. No wifi besides in the office but it’s advertised as WiFi, community microwave in office but the office is locked after 9pm so if you want to heat anything at night forget it. No ice either. The gentleman had good customer service, was nice and wanted to help us I just feel like for a major holiday that is busy in Lake George they should have been more prepared. We booked ahead of time so they knew we were coming. Rooms, and bedding were clean, just OLD.
- Jesus (10/5): - Excellent service!
- Lynn (8/5): - Loved the quiet and view. Brad was very helpful and even went on a beer run the evening we came. We had torrential rains for hours coming and were tired of driving.
It was early in the season ,so we were the only guests.
I really liked it It was not commercial and had a very family atmosphere.
- Lynette (10/5): Great place to stay! - Great place to stay. Porch in front and back looking at the woods. Very affordable and clean. Location was in center of where we wanted to visit. The owner was very accommodating and a pleasure to talk to. Would definitely stay there again!
- Jillian (2/5): - Not very clean, pool was green, hottub was nasty.and mold everywhere. Room small smell like mold and cigarettes smoke.beds hard and dirty.
- Dawn (10/5): - Needs upgrades, and tlc
- Moe (6/5): - Nothing
- Mansa (10/5): - We stayed here in the first week for Oct for the leaf peeping season in Vermont. The room was well maintained, clean and our stay was awesome, we stayed there for one night. The rooms heated well for the cold night. Power sockets worked. The breakfast was muffins and donuts only, but as you are travelling, sight seeing, enjoy the local food :)
The famous lake George, with the mysterious echo spot is just 7 mins away from the property.
- Brandon (8/5): - it was a good stay overall. a little noisy, but it was good for a night stay. i wouldn't stay for longer than a day or two though.
- Nancy (4/5): - No hay limpieza muchas araña 🕷 en el cuarto
- Kimberley (10/5): - amazing family owned property. Very clean and everything you need. Very comfortable home feeling
- joseph o (4/5): Don't come here - It was not so good, there were not breakfast, the breakfast was mini muffins and donuts with coffee or tea, very disappointed, the place need to update
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed - Very friendly knowledgeable owner. Clean hotel, laid back vibe! Chose this place over a nicer cheaper hotel because it had jacuzzi tub. Luke warm at best, one working jet, very disappointed I paid extra for hot tub that didn’t live up to expectations.
- Amanda (10/5): - This place has excellent staff, is clean, comfy and has a GREAT location. Brad at the front desk is happy to help set up a great adventure for everyone in your group. We will be back.
- Rebecca (10/5): Facility - The pool and hot tub were a nice relaxing way to melt away stress.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Could use some modifications and up-keep
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pool was great! I was unable to use hot tub, due to health but it sure looked awesome!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The person working at the motel was extremely nice. The hotel itself is exceptionally shabby. Falling apart really. Room was clean, but comforter dusty and mattress ancient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay ! I’ll go back soon !!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owner is extremely nice and will go the extra mile for you. This is the place to stay if you want to disappear from the world and get away from reality. The shopping is very close and takes 4 min to drive to the outlets. Good food and the fun of Canada Street is also a 5 min drive. This isn't luxurious, but it is totally awesome.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Like staff but hitel is run down. Found a bug in the sheets.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - we had a great experience with the stay. The owner personally attended to everything. Mr Alan called ahead that pool might not be available at the time we are there. He upgraded us to a double room. The location is a 6 min drive from the main downtown. we would definitely recommend the place
- Heather (8/5): Simple Living :) - Tall Pines was quiet and simple. It is off the main road, so you do hear some traffic. The owner was a gentleman, and so kind to help us with whatever we needed. It is a family place, with a lot of personal space to do your own thing on the deck outside your room, or on a little balcony outback. Perfect for a quiet, no-frills, peaceful stay close to nature!
- Crystal (4/5): - I hate to say all this because the owners were very nice but the motel its self was very disappointing the smell of mold mildew the moisture in the rooms very out dated and old look n feel , I had to go out and buy blankets to sleep on towels to use and a small puirfer just to sleep me and my grandpa got sick from the stay , although it was a great location to everything but that's about it
- Me (4/5): - I stayed here tonight. 2 jets work in the hot tub nobody ever came in and made the bed I had to ask for more supplies. And the place is definitely in need of major TLC. Which is a shame because I used to live in that area and that used to be a nice place but not anymore I would highly recommend a different Hotel

- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was clean, the owner was so friendly and helpful, as was his son. The kids loved the pool and sauna as well. The
- dave (8/5): - quiet clean and good spot from town reasonable awesome
- Edward (10/5): Wonderful Gem near Lake George - Amazing customer service by a family run business. Pool, hot tub, sauna available. Located just minutes down the road from local attractions, shopping, restaurants and under under 10minutes away from start of Lake George.
If you want to stay on site and relax they have several charcoal grills and a firepit throughout the property. As well, gas grill with griddle available for use. I believe office will provide use of microwave if needed.
Rooms 1-10 also have private rear balconies. Every room has a beautiful wooded/natural view.
Do not let the word motel scare you if you are not a local-this is a safe, relaxing, inviting and friendly place.
I CANNOT wait to book again- our stay was so great we added an extra night!!
And the tap water tastes great!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Tall Pines - Very very nice staff clean room. Tv outdated and could not get cable. Needs some repairs. For the price it was adequate since we did not stay a lot in our room. Good location
- Irene (10/5): Five stars. - We have stayed at a few different hotels in Lake George and this has been the best.
Very nicely ran. Brad was very friendly and helpful. The room was beyond clean, comfy bed and nice towels. Quite and peaceful. We can’t say enough about this place. We will go back.
- Zena (8/5): Friendly - Hotel was very accommodating. Nice hot tub and sauna. Beds were very comfortable. Very nice owners
- Verified traveler (6/5): - advertise breakfast, then continental breakfast we received neither
- ABC (4/5): pricey for off season - room was fine nothing special, was close to our ebent, but quite pricey and many amenities shut down. price should be reduced if stuff not available.
- Panther (4/5): Disappointed - Beautiful grounds, the rooms were clean, however badly outdated. Old fashion TV, no flat screen. It's probably very costly to maintain the two buildings. The decks & steps need painting badly. The doors are still opened with a KEY! There is a light hanging in the inside of the room, in front of the window, with an actual LAMP shade! The back of the property needs to be cleaned of all the junk and clutter, especially behind the shed. It kills the beautiful view of the TALL PINES lining the back property. They should do away with the continental breakfast. The space is NOT suitable for it, it's cluttered with junk all around. I guess it's not worth it, or don't have the money, for the owners to renovate and update the motel. It's a shame because it has big potential.
- jes (8/5): Nice, not too far from Lake George - This was a nice, clean hotel and close to Lake George. The rooms aren't updated but I wasn't there to stay in my room all week, I was there to sleep and get ready for the day. There is no breakfast but they do have a pool and some hot tubs. I definitely would recommend this hotel and I would stay again if I don't want to be staying right in the middle of town.
- Lisa (10/5): Perfect Weekend Getaway - Located between Lake George Village and the Outlet malls, this hotel was perfect for what we were looking for. The two gentlemen we dealt with upon check-in and when we needed pool towels, etc, were very friendly. Rooms were clean, quiet, and a/c worked great. The pool and surrounding area were also clean. Coffee and donuts in the morning. We will be staying here in the future for sure.
- Vlad (2/5): Clean, great staff but HORRIBLE Motel ... avoid ! - The hotel manager is a great guy, he is very friendly and tries to make you feel nice. 10 out of 10 for him. The room is clean, we have no objections but the whole hotel is run down. We arrived in extra-season, but the "feel" is not different in season i guess. It looks like there has been no investment in this Motel in ages ... all of the thing look old, the door barely closes and the stairs to the room are awfully. there is a LOT of junk in the backyard that is just unpleasant to see when you go up and down the room.
There is no wifi signal although we were in a room at the second floor, right in the middle.
When we woke up in the morning there is no power and no running water at the toilet. The manager excuses that is is not his fault .. i understand him but not our fault as well. We arrived there to have 2 days of vacation and decided the second morning to go ask for a the guy refunded us for the second day; he kept the Expedia charges 20$ (it did not look fair to me, but i was too tired already to debate this with him). It it was me, for the horrible situation i would have given full refund ...
When we arrived there, at 7 PM on of our children 4 years old said while going to the room "Mama I'm afraid, it is spooky" ... one could not have described better the experience.
We went to look for a second night at another place and found that paying 10 $ more we stayed at a Wingate HOTEL, that looks and feels AMAZING .... for 10 $ more ...
- yuanyuan (2/5): - No wifi in our rooms. The bathroom is very small. Rug is duty. I don't know why they charge $121/night. Not recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room had a musty smell and the wallpaper was starting to separate at the seams in several areas. The bed was not comfortable for my husband and I but my granddaughters had no trouble sleeping. In the morning when we started to fix our bed we noticed a large stain on our blanket, which I would like to think was something that did not come out in the wash. We left the bed and it was changed for us. The bathroom was very small, standing room only. This room may have been okay if it was only my husband and I but to small for a family of 4.
- Carolyn (8/5): Family trip with Teenagers - This was a quaint family run motel. The owner was friendly and very helpful. Our AC unit broke and it was quickly replaced that day. The rooms are small but the bathroom was very clean. There was also a grill available to use. The Wifi was limited, which could be a good thing if you are trying to relax and tune out. Not so good for teenagers who love to be connected.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet, clean and excellent location! Very easy to get to and from, great shopping and awesome food right near by. Bed was super comfy and shower was awesome! Quiet porch and just a serene setting. Plus a great outdoor pool!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice enough but very expensive for what you get.
- Fernando (8/5): Restful - If you are looking for a 5 star hotel, this is not it, but if you are looking for a friendly, clean and comfortable place to rest up after a long day on the beach or on the lake, then these folks have you covered. Very nice people willing to help folks find fun and exciting places on the Lake and in town. I would stay there again.
- OLGA (8/5): tab thin walls - the gentleman at the Front desk was awesome and so knowledgable!!!! the rooms were clean and neat but the blankets were clean but gross. they must have been Verulux blankets, nice when new but rubbery or the detergent was not rinsed out. The walls are a bit thin because the client in the next room had a serious upset stomach and we heard him pass gas all night long (thankfull no odors passed through the walls).... the next night the kids upstairs running and jumping around till 2 am did not lend to a rest full sleep. the grounds were very nice and you can see it is a work in progress... on the whole i would stay there again for a family getaway not a couple getaway.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Experience - Owner was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area and shared with us some great restaurants and attractions to see. Rooms were clean and pleasant and would have liked if they had some handicap ramps in place to assist with our needs.
- thomas (6/5): - Hotel is located close to the interstate, shopping, & entertainment. Found it to be convenient for our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very pleasant and clean. Geat location close to downtown Lake George. I will definitely stay there again.
