Good visibility from the highway but not too close to be impacted by noise. This is one of the better places in the Pierre/Fort Pierre area. I will stay here again.

Verified traveler (6/5): $80 room for over double that. - The accommodations themselves were just very modest. Not outside of my expectations so there's really not a discount in my rating for the accommodations. The check-in process was unusually slow. Part of the problem is the front desk worker was outside.... possibly on break while two of us were in line to check in and no one at the front desk to take care of us. But largely the biggest complaint was that this is a very modest room at just under $200 with taxes. I travel about 80 nights a year and I would never expect to pay this much for this level of accommodations anywhere else other than Pierre/Ft Pierre. The lodging choices here are few, and they are all overpriced. As a seasoned business traveler giving travel advice, I would suggest you stay in Mitchell, Rapid City, or Aberdeen rather than Pierre if possible.

Vangendy (10/5): Wonderful Staff and Stay - When I arrived I was not 1st in line but I was greeted by the friendly staff. Check in was a breeze. My bed was very comfortable. The AC was outstanding and would run continuously which I appreciate. I got an item from the store at the counter which was very easy. Parking was great and we enjoyed kicking back at the outdoor seating area. Extremely clean and everything was how it should be.
Verified traveler (6/5): You expect me to buy dishes??? - This was my first stay at a “My Place”. I was stunned to discover that guests were expected to purchase cookware, dishes, and utensils. Much more expensive than a Candlewood Suites with fewer actual suite features and amenities.
ritareisor (2/5): Not a Kitchenette! Do not recommend! - The so called kitchenette had no dishes or utensils at all! Toaster, coffee maker, full size fridge, and 2 burner range were present. But who travels with pots and dishes? No info indicating this on website. Seriously, what is the point then? Some front desk staff were friendly, but the head person was rude, defensive and aggressive when approached. Refused to remove state taxes, which are not allowed as a federal government employee, and was very aggressive when asked. Can't wait to deal with that headache on my end later! I do not recommend staying here, or at least not the Pierre, S.D. location.

He called his manager and said to give me another room. Decided against that so drove three hours to stay somewhere else as no other rooms were available in the area. Was told no refund. Hope to get into contact with someone. Will no longer stay at this hotel chain.

Thanks to all the staff, especially Michelle. - Didn’t have breakfast but the place was very welcoming, all staff were super sweet and accommodating. Rooms were very roomy and comfortable. There’s honestly nothing we didn’t like. If there was a problem, Michelle attended to it right away and fixed it immediately. She is the best.

I had room 206 and every time the front door opened you could here a loud sliding noise. One of the guys in our group asked for a shampoo and they were told that they would have to purchase it. Absolute rip off for $300 per night. Our group will never stay at another my place again.

tammylC4969EB (10/5): NEW FOUND HAVEN - We can't say enough good about our stay!!! We called as we were traveling one of our 10 hours on the road. Dog tired after our fishing trip to Michigan and just couldn't drive anymore! (June 6th- 7th. The name of the gal who accommodated our requests as we were traveling escapes me. She was amazing!) I must be honest here... we were quite skeptical about this hotel. I have joked it looks like McDonalds. My Place has EXTREMELY clean, EXTERMELY quiet, EXTREMELY comfy beds (IF you like softer mattress), with great accommodations! It does have a kitchen and frig, but no dishes, utensils and such (which is just fine with us. Just sharing information.) Coffee pot, with coffee, fixings, and disposable coffee cups in the room are provided. The single queen room we enjoyed was spacious with a comfy recliner. Slept like babies! We were awakened by the cleaning crew vacuuming the hallway and running into our door, however. :0( Upon check out, Michele was super friendly, gave us her card to contact her for future stays and discounts. Excited to use our new found stay membership on our future travels! *We enjoyed an amazing dinner with a river front table at Drifters! Menu has choices for ALL taste buds! *A request we did learn we needed to ask for was to turn the ice maker on in the freezer so ice is ready and waiting for cool drinks upon arrival. My Places Hotels are now our new favorite place to stay! *Thank you Fort Pierre, SD for a new found haven!

We have an issue with the TV not working and after another room with the same issue, Josie was able to get us into a room that that had a working TV. Josie was very apologetic, but we travel a lot and things like this happen.
Dan M (10/5): Great business stay - Good hotel for business stay in town. Clean, fu size kitchen, need to bring your own dishes and utensils. Parking is easy and free.
Dennis (2/5): - Booked room for a funeral. When I checked in staff agreed to give be a lower bereavement rate. When I checked out staff said everything was fine. When I received by credit card statement. I saw that My Place had unilaterally added a charge to raise the rate. When I called, I was told the staff was not authorized to give me the lower rate. I asked why I was not told that when I check out or called before the charge was added, the employee became irate and said "don't yell at me" and hung up.
605triciaa (2/5): LOUD - Horrible experience. I barely slept at all. The window shade was broken and would not go down all the way so I had a bright light shining in the room all night. The heat was not working properly. It was 20 degrees outside but I had to have the air conditioner on and it was set at 64 degrees and STILL hot in the room. The worst though was the noise. You can hear EVERYTHING in the room. People talking next to each side, people walking above you, the microwave next door. The worst sound proofing I have ever experienced (or lack of). I tried to cancel my second night and was told only the manager could do that, no one else Conveniently she was never there the next day each time I tried to talk to her-so I was stuck there again. They did fix the window shade for night two but the rest of the problems remained. Would NEVER stay here again.

johnwM218JH (2/5): Rude Dishonest establishment - The most rude and dishonest people I have ever worked with. I had to get to a funeral for my wife’s mom and the blizzard blocked my road and I could not get home. They let me stay one night but said their policy was not let anybody that lives in that town stay there . Second night they refused to let me stay there for the same reasons. So had I to get a refund from Hotel.com and find another place to stay. Then they lied to the hotel.com representative and said I had been banned from there and that my room was left messy.

phillipgoff (2/5): Worse customer service and Hotel - The lack of customer service at this Hotel is one of the worse I have stayed. They charged an extra day because I checked out a day early due to weather and the project was complete. Cancellation with our travel agent was cancel 24vdc prior to arrival not a day early. No hotel charges if you leave a day early.

Cynthia (4/5): Don't expect anything beyond what you get when you first arrive at your room - The beds were comfortable. The room size was adequate. My husband was traveling with a neighbor for a hunting trip. This review is written in their words. The Fort Pierre and Pierre region was very nice. There are a lot of dining opportunities and the river is beautiful. There was no housekeeping throughout our weeklong stay. Cleanup was promised at Day 4. We were out hunting all day and returned to find that towels and bedding had not been refreshed nor trash removed. Initial recliner should have been trashed (see photo). It was shabby and torn. Typically something like this would be seen at the side of the road with a FREE sign on it. We requested a replacement from three staff members for two days and did not get a response until my wife wrote to corporate guest relations, which forwarded it to the local general manager as each hotel is a franchise. A replacement that was less torn was provided. The general manager informed via email that new recliners were on order. We will not return here and would be hesitant to stay at another My Place based on this experience.

Mrs. (10/5): Exceptional - The room was huge, with its on kitchenette! Very friendly staff as well. So close to everything which is a major plus. The perks the come with signing up made it so worth it. They even have a little shop at check in just in case you need food, dishes, razors, OTC medication! It truly was amazing. The beds were very very comfy, super pillow top and the biggest and softest pillows we've ever had.
Sharon (9/5): Stay was perfect. - Very clean room. Had to wait at check in cause there was no staff. Note at check in said: “Be back in 30 minutes” We waited for a hour. There were 4 guest waiting by the time someone showed up. We believe it was the lady just coming to work because while we were checking in another lady came in and said: “I am so sorry” Something that corporate should look into as there was no one in registration area or anywhere else.
