Guest Reviews
Morgenmaden ok. Og wifi kørte godt.
- Alan (8/5): - WiFi not up to standard kept dropping in and out
Close to Thai Consulate . Frequented this hotel over the years. Pleasant staff and always clean place to stay.
- Adrienne (4/5): - I like the area
- Roger (6/5): fair enough but a bit far from town - The hotel is OK in many ways, but the breakfast was terrible, as if they didn’t care. Since Europeans book in there they should really try harder. Building B is in much better decorative order than A. A very quiet area at night, it is just that bit too far from the centre of town. Café Sinouk opposite is a real plus though.
- Thomas (6/5): - It's a clean, inexpensive hotel 100 meters from Thai Embassy.
With adequate breakfast.
Very nice staff
- sara (8/5): Affordable & nice - The hotel was close to a lot of restaurant or choices of foods to eat. Near a mini store. Close to the Thai embassy. Breakfast was nice. Room was spacious and clean. Had taxi cabs and tuk tuk near by. Customer service was friendly. Only thing I'd change is the bed. The bed was big, but hard, like box spring hard. Pillow was too firm. All and all still manageable. I would come back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel is within walking distance of the Embassy of Thailand
- zoltan (10/5): Good hotel, fantastic staff. - Nice hotel right next to Thai embassy. Rooms are big, breakfast is a very generous buffet. The management is absolutely amazing. They did everything they could to help us when we run into some trouble during our stay. (Trouble not connected to the hotel) I can highly recommend this place they really shine if you need some assistance during your stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location is convenient for people who want to go to Thai embassy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - good hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- James (4/5): - Best benefit for my personal interest was it's location across from Thai Embassy. The buffet breakfast was good. The property is just too worn down for my taste. No restaurant or bar.
- Torben (8/5): - It was a nice and clean hotel and perfect when you go for a visa run, close to the Thai embassy.
- Jacob (8/5): Convenient - Great place to stay if you are getting a visa for Thailand, it is across the street from the consulate. The breakfast buffet is great, and the staff is very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
- Jon Ingi (2/5): Old, tired and dirty. - Cigarette smell lingered in the entire hotel, despite being a non-smoking room hotel. Had to change rooms 3 times. First due to someone having smoked in the room and butts were visible on the ledge in front of the window. Second room faced a ongoing construction next door and broken aircon. 3rd room was ok, but cigarette smell lingered in through what seem either ventilation or floors. It feels like this hotel has never been cleaned. Windows were stained, doors and mirror in bath room were dirty. Nearly every tile was dirty or cracked or loose. Doors open and close with a loud bang, echoing through out the entire floor. WiFi was bad. Breakfast was barely passable. Its beyond how it can be called 3 star. If 3 star is about 60% of 5 star, then this could not be in reality more then 1 star. Cabins in wilderness are more comfortable. Only thing positive I can say, is the front desk managers did respond positively to my complaints and did move me to new rooms. A hotel to be avoided.
- Christopher Lee (10/5): - I was very satisfied. Service could not have been better. Breakfast was excellent. Not located in the heart of the tourist area, but for my purpose (business at the Thai embassy), the location was perfect. There are plenty of tuk-tuks to taxi you where you want to go. The building shows some age, but was clean. The bed is hard - typical for Thailand also. Overall very satisfied and would recommend to any practically-minded traveler. Booking on hotels.com took away some worry also - I didn't have to present credit card at hotel at all.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Short distance to thai embassy - I've been here before, i chose this hotel because it's very close to Thailands embassy. It's far from the best hotel experience. I would never take my family here for a vacation.
- Jerid (8/5): Nice place to stay next to Thai Embassy! - Great place to stay if you are doing anytyoe of VISA run with the Thai Embassy. The Embasy is literally next door across the street! The place is clean, includes free breakfast and is clean for this side of the world. The staff was super nice!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Best hotel near to the Thai consulate. Staff generally friendly but want to make extra money out of you at every available opportunity
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very hard bed - no cushioning. Toilet roll holder inefficient and roll fell off into the shower run-off water whenever used. Plenty of choice at breakfast unless you like cereal and toast. I took my own cereal but no milk available, not even on offer to buy from reception fridge. I purchased my own at shop outside hotel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad smell - So strong unpleasant smell in the room that i couldn’t sleep at night. Air Con is very old. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
- jay (6/5): Good hotel for Thai consolart - Good hotel for Thai consolart, can save money from airport by getting the airport bus island taking a 15 walk to the hotel if u r traveling light, Vientiane is nice to spend a few days, can walk around the main places easily. Vientiane is a good place to get a tourist visa for Thailand and this hotel is the closest to the Thai consulate.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - satisfied
- Thomas (8/5): - The bathroom was disgusting.... the shower still had the soap in the shower from the previous guest. There was hair in the shower and floor in the bathroom.
The free breakfast was so so....
There was no coffee in the rooms as it SAYS IN THEIR ADVERTISEMENT OF THE HOTEL. We asked for some, and they said they didn't give it out other than for breakfast.
There was also no tea.... again which was advertised that they had this for guests in the rooms.
- Boris (10/5): a good clean hotel close to thai counselate - confortable room
- Verified traveler (6/5): Near the Thai Consulate - Not the greatest of hotels, but not the worst either!
- james (8/5): Ok hotel. Closest hotel to thai consulate. - Hotel is fine. Breakfast buffet is good if you get there early! Other than that they dont sell food. Few nice restaurants in the area, but all close about 10pm. Not much else there, except the thai consulate, which is the reaon for my stay... and for that... it is the best hotel. Just 50 metres.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Thai visa run - Prefect hotel if you are doing a Thai visa run because it's right next to the embassy. Other than that no reason to stay at this hotel versus anther one in the city.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Close to Thai consulate but dirty and loud - This hotel was in a good condition in 2009. Now, you can only book online (no such "service" at the reception!), the rooms are dirty, smell smoky, and are loud. There is only one reason to stay here, the Thai consulate is just 100 m away.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Worst hotel I ever stayed at. Beware of mosquitos and ants
- jason (8/5): convenient - I went to apply for Thai visa its way convenient for that its just across the street.
- Sudatip (6/5): Good to stay - it is in the middle of city and you can walk around and sightseeing.near Khong river
- edward (4/5): the pictures lie. - the hotel is not a place to take the wife. the room was dirty and the housekeeping staff were no good. the bathroom was mouldy and the beds were old
- Mal (4/5): Hotel Vientiane
- The hotel is very close to the Thai embassy, and is the only reason for staying there.
Very few conveniences offered but a simple breakfast included, nice cold fried eggs for instance. Staff can be convinced to specially fry a new hot one for you, but this is not on general offer.
Hot water is abysmal and bathrooms very poorly designed, meaning that after a tepid shower the whole floor is wet.
- Cindy (6/5): - Wifi good for email only
- Mal (4/5): OK hotel, across the road from Thai Consulate. - Check in no fuss and prompt.
Se Asian bathroom, use the shower and walk through wet floor to toilet from then on. The shower either wet the toilet paper, towels or the door depending on the aim. The shower rose was almost not functioning, water was issued in thick streams.
No room strongbox.
No coffee/tea making facility.
Breakfast was cold eggs sausages and SE Asian food. You won't starve but for me, Australian, a bit ordinary.
I stayed with my wife and daughter for three nights to attend the Thai consulate. The hotel was inexpensive and did its job, maybe a bit unfair of me to compare it to my usual various accommodations.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Getting a Thai Visa - This hotel is great for getting your Thai Visa. It is Right across the street from the Thai Embassy. It allows you to be first in line (which is important) on the first day. Easy to get to by telling anyone at the airport that you are going to get your Thai Visa Extension
The Wifi in room is spotty, it all depends how close you are to the nearest router. I could get signal near my door. The speed was sub par.
The AC worked fine, and shower was surprisingly nice.
Breakfast is from 630 to 930, allowing you to get your visa done and eat breakfast afterwards. There is a good outdoor low key place directly across from the embassy that serves good Laos food.
The bed was standard cheap hotel hard, but comfortor was nice. Room was clean. The free bottles of water were quite nice. There is also a fridge you can use.
- Max (6/5): Good location for visiting the Thai consulate. - Straight forward check-in and check-out. Rooms were quite clean, staff were pleasant enough. All in all this hotel suited my needs for a short visit to the consulate across the road.
- herbert (6/5): Thai embassy border run - Bed not very confortable, mini fridge was dirty, room very spacious and plenty of closet space, tv still not flat screen and small, great breakfast buffet.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Surved it's purpose - Chose hotel due to location as it is close to Thai Consular Department where visas are issued. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. The room wasn't properly cleaned when I got there as there was some rubbish in the wastebaskets and also some curtains in the closet. I had some trouble with the AC as it would switch off by itself after a while and was generally hard to control with the remote control. They tried to fix this and they did initially but it ended up being the same after a while. They said they would have moved me to a different room, but I didn't stay at the hotel long enough.
- Kai (6/5): Only stay here for Thai visa runs - The hotel itself is OK. Medium standard, acceptable. The breakfast is boring and anything but tasty. The sausages were cold, although the eggs were warm. The breakfast room staff did not speak much English.
The Internet connection was horrible. A pathetic excuse. I could barely open my email. Forget reading news, because the pages timed out before they could finish downloading. And I could not access my own website. It would have been better if they did not offer an Internet connection, because now people will go there with an expectation that isn't met. It would even be better to charge extra for a faster connection.
I'm far from the only one who have criticised them for the slow connection. So unless the hotel management get a kick out of annoying their guests, they should really do something about this.
The only really good thing about this hotel is the nearness to the Thai visa division. It is too far from the city centre to be good for tourism.
- moonoy (6/5): Good place to stay visiting the Thai Embassy - I was very happy with the location. It is right across the street from the Thai Embassy. As I was in Lao for a new Thai visa the location was perfect. There was always a member of the staff at the desk who spoke English, another plus. The breakfast was good quality, however the fresh fruit was gone after 8 am. The menu was Asian, it would have been nice if there was some bacon for westerners. There is a Pizza Company restaurant on the block and a Lao Bakery/coffee shop across the street that served good Italian food. A mini mart that is very poorly marked in the office building ground floor on the block across the street. All in all enough choices to keep you there with out going downtown in a tuk tuk. The cable tv was great, many English speaking channels including HBO anf Fox Movies.
