- Guest (8/5): Lovely place, the bed was very comfy and the homeowner provided me with cake on arrival :-) - As this was a work trip i would of preferred to pay upfront via booking.com when booking. I had to pay for this on my own card then wait to claim this back.
- Colin (5/5): Very disappointed as we did not get what we paid for!!!! - We had booked a room with ensuite.. When we arrived the owner said that the ensuite room she had was already taken.
Very disappointed as we did not get what we had booked. We had booked a room with an ensuite bathroom, but we did not get that. The pictures had shown a room with an ensuite bathroom. The owner advertised the room with an ensuite bathroom. She said she only had two rooms to rent, but only one had the ensuite bathroom. and that was already taken.
- Karen (9/5): Perfect for an overnight stop. Highly recommended. - Beautiful property and location. Comfortable room and exceptional value. Delicious breakfast and delightful host. No complaints at all.
- Simone (9/5): Lovely quiet B&B with garden and good access to restaurant and pub. - Lovely host. Super welcome with tea and cake.
Beautiful garden (borders, potager, orchard) with sitting out areas (summerhouse and benches). Interesting books for reading. Good breakfast. Quiet. Close to good pub and restaurant (walking distance). Only one bedside reading light for double bed. Sign for Rose Cottage located closer to road edge would be helpful.

A dream come true to experience authentic English country living. Sally was a fantastic host—her breakfast, garden-fresh fruit were unforgettable. I come from Ceylon Tea country Sri Lanka and I had the best cup of tea The heritage cutlery and cozy luxury room added charm. Easily a 10/10 experience—thank you, Sally!

- James (10/5): Simply Delightful - Simply Delightful. We adored Rose Cottage and Emma the owner who was a fantastic host. We arrived and had tea in the garden summer house accompanied by Emma's homemade lemon drizzle cake. If you want peace, tranquility and rest this is the place. We would most definitely want to stay again. Nothing for us it was 10/10
- David (8/5): Very enjoyable. I would certainly go back. - A wonderfully quiet location but only a 5 minute walk from the village pub. Rose Cottage is a very traditional country accommodation with lovely proprietor and a wonderful full English breakfast. It was perfect for my one night stopover. I was even offered space in the garage to store my motorcycle overnight which was a lovely touch. The cottage sits well off the road and the private parking area is well away from prying eyes, so motorcyclists should be happy there.
- David (10/5): Friendly, quiet, stunning breakfast - Can't fault it. Warm welcome with tea and cake. Comfy bed in a quiet location.
Outstanding breakfast! Home made bread, jam, marmalade & granola, apple juice from the garden, and full cooked breakfast including the most delicious slow-roasted tomatoes I've ever tasted!
I asked for a sandwich lunch, which was a very generous size at a reasonable price. Made with more homemade ingredients & fresh salad from the garden.
Felt like a king! Nothing really!
- Maria (10/5): Relaxing place! - We stayed for one night on our way from Scotland. This place is perfect to have a rest and a good sleep before and after a long drive. The garden around the property is wonderful, the village is nice and quiet. We had a very good dinner at the local pub/restaurant. The home-made breakfast from the owner was amazing!
- Lorraine (8/5): The host at Rose Cottage was very helpful - The host. She was very helpful and had tea and cake waiting for us when we arrived at her cottage, which was in a beautifully quiet location Our double room had a private, but separate bathroom next to our bedroom. Because there wasn't a notice on the door another guest from the twin room used it, until I informed him it was private. The twin had its own en suite bathroom!
It would be a good idea to have a lock fitted so that we could lock it when we weren't using it and a private notice on the door also
- Duncan (10/5): Great host and lovely location for the Yorkshire dales - Welcoming host. Good messaging even though we were later than anticipated. The host got up early to produce an excellent breakfast that was above and beyond our expectations. Nothing springs to mind. The local pub was lovely and an easy walk. If I was being picky the venue was hard to find in the dark as a stranger.
- Shirley (10/5): Warm and welcoming stay at Rose Cottage, will definitely return. - A very warm welcome from our host, Emma. Greeted with tea and homemade cake on arrival. Room very clean and comfortable.
Accommodation was very homely and cosy.
Wonderful breakfast with lots of homegrown and homemade produce, the granola was delicious! There was nothing to dislike.
- Jackie (10/5): relaxing and beautiful place to have a break - beautiful location in the country peaceful and lovely views welcoming and attentive hoists
- Shirley (10/5): First class. MUST BE REPEATED! - Absolutely delightful: all very pretty, stylish, superbly comfortable, spotless, calm, relaxing. Beautiful garden and orchard, fantastic views and countryside.
Wonderful breakfast, including the special touch with home-grown and homemade produce (jams, marmalade, granola, etc…)
Wonderful and helpful hostess: SO welcoming, warm, full of energy and generosity - especially the cosy fire and delicious home baked cake and tea that awaited us upon arrival!
What a great break, a true treat. We shall visit again - and for longer! Not a jot!
- Waseem (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely amazing cottage with even more amazing and hospitable hosts. Emma is a fabulous host who will go above and beyond to ensure that your stay at the cottage is both comfortable and memorable.
The cottage is easy to reach and is located in a beautiful and scenic location, close to the Ingleton Waterfalls. The views are truly breathtaking...you are literally a stone throw away from the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
Would highly recommend

- Julie (10/5): Superb - Emma the host could not do enough for us . Tea and cake on arrival . Very welcoming we will recommend and definitely be back Nothing
- Lewin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eunice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Whittaker (9/5): A truly great location, host, and house, for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. - The breakfast was superb. Tea or coffee & cake offered, if you came in early from a walk. The location fantastic with dawn views of the majestic Ingleborough mountain in the distance from my bedroom window. Emma was a great host. We had some very engaging conversations. Her house and garden a joy.
The house was also a short walk from the excellent Lunesdale Arms. A great place for dinner.
Emma also kept the stove stoked in the communal living room, which was a very comfortable and enjoyable space. Emma had had a new boiler installed, which used a WiFi portable thermostat. Unfortunately the thermostat only seemed to heat the areas in its immediate proximity. She was grateful I brought this to her attention and is going to get the issue sorted straight away. Other than that there was absolutely nothing on the downside.

Nothing to dislike....perfect in every aspect.
- Adrian (10/5): An excellent find! Comfortable and a home from home. - Location was excellent for touring. Great breakfast. Breakfast arrangements were a little unclear. There was one breakfast table and at our scheduled time another couple were still breakfasting. We waited in the lovely garden for 20 mins or so for them to finish and then realised we had places set at the same table. We would have been happy to share the table if we had known that we would have been been welcome to do so.
