Guest Reviews
- Leslie (10/5): 2nd Time Of Staying There Everything Was Spot On - Everything Was Spot On Yet Again, 2nd Time Of Staying There, The Owners Go Above & Beyond polite & Very Friendly Sure We’ll Be Going Back @ Sometime In The Future Owners, Location, Cleanliness, Rooms Very Spacious & Lovely Breakfast, Sure We’ll Be Going Back
- Julie (10/5): - Sarah met us at the door, and we were met with a lovely warm greeting. The hotel was spotlessly clean , the beds were comfortable with bedding that was crisp and clean as was the bathroom. Parking was, again, but not hotels' fault.
- Barry (7/5): -
- Kerstin (10/5): - Arrived at the guest house mid afternoon, the landlady was lovely and friendly, showed us to our rooms which were clean and comfortable and just as expected. The breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious, help yourself to fruit, yoghurt and cereals. We weren't in our rooms much but found the shower powerful and slept really well. It was very quiet during the night, being a street just off the Promenade we had expected it to be noisy from the streets but it wasn't. A very family orientated guest house and was just what we needed to suit our group of 2 couples going for a weekend away. Would definitely book again Nothing, it was clean and comfortable with lovely friendly hosts and met all our expectations
- Susan (8/5): - Owners were lovely couldn't do enough for you Nothing
- Adam (10/5): Amazing me and my son will be staying again - Clean and tidy There wasn’t anything
- Robyn (10/5): Would definitely return - Lovely, welcoming hosts - Sarah and hubby (sorry I didn't catch his name). They moved one of their cars to save us paying for parking which was very appreciated. Always on hand to answer any questions we had about the local area and waited up late to allow us to check in after long drive from Scotland on Friday night.
Central location very close to the pleasure beach, sandcastle waterpark and Blackpool Zoo. Literally a stones throw away from the main promenade.
Delicious breakfast served each morning. I like that it was between 9am-10am and not too early. We had full English each day - my son rated the mushrooms 'The best he's ever had.' Also choices of cereals and yogurts etc. Hosts topping up tea/coffee during service and very attentive.
Very comfortable beds with a TV in each room and access to tea/coffee making facilities. We were provided with toiletries and clean towels too - saves on having to bring your own!
Overall it was a very comfortable stay for our family of 4. I would definitely recommend staying at Shananagen's and would absolutely return in the future. No dislikes
- charlotte (10/5): - We loved it. It was warm clean and very accommodating and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming The rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast was fabulous we will be definitely coming back at the end of the year when the light are on :) There was a little hole in the wall but nothing we couldn't sort out with a bit of newspaper that my mom put in it :) we are petrified of mouses so that was just a precaution but other than that we loved it
- Colin (7/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): - Breakfast great hosts lovely comfortable room
- paul (8/5): - Excellent location. Sarah and Ken really helpful and will go out their way to sort any problem you have. Lack of wifi in rooms

- Robyn (9/5): -
- Gillian (6/5): Basic but OK - Breakfast ok, but no tomatoes
Staff friendly helpful Had to sleep in a room I didn’t book, in a bunk bed meant for kids!
Bathroom way too small
- kevin (10/5): Lovely staff so welcoming - Everything staff so nice and welcoming Nothing
- Kevin (10/5): Brilliant Guest House - Perfectly situated guest house the hosts were lovely and went above and beyond to help in any way they possibly could so friendly and polite, the room was large and clean and the bed was so comfortable we both slept very well indeed. The breakfast was exceptionally good perfectly fried (not griddle cooked) eggs with delicious runny yolks and proper butchers sausages that were delicious, unlimited tea coffee toast etc as well as cereals yoghurts fresh fruits jams blah blah blah. Highly recommended and we will definitely be visiting again next year more than once 10/10. There was nothing to dislike!
- sonia (9/5): We had a very happy few days in Blackpool… enhanced by the kindness shown at the shananagens guest house by our host. T - The Shananagens guesthouse was a lovely place to stay for our short trip to Blackpool. The proprietors, are welcoming and warm…Breathtaking was good and enjoyable. The rooms are a good size and as all the furniture and bedding needed. Thank you. A lovely big property with enough space for all 9 of us.

- Joanna (8/5): Would 100% return. Clean, comfortable, welcoming and delicious breakfast! - Lovely and clean, hosts were fabulous, rooms were comfortable and modern. Lovely breakfast! Nothing really, shame some other buildings in street are run down but that’s a sad fact about the area and wouldn’t put us off returning
- Kelly (3/5): It wast that good I didn’t like the food - Nothing really There was no toilet roll and the food
- John (7/5): It was ok - The breakfast was lovely cook fresh. The conformation I received was a superior family room, double bed, single room, and bunk beds and a sea view we had 2 rooms understand we had no sea view due to the location so in my eyes that was false advertising.
- Rear (9/5): Very nice family guesthouse with great room layout - Bedroom layout for families was brilliant, separated rooms for kids with bunk bed and single to adults double.
Breakfast, lovely food and good size potion.
Free to come and go as like.
Loved our stay will be returning! Only slight complaint and very slight was the shower, very under powered and leaking hose meant very little water coming out the shower head. Smallest of things to complain about otherwise fantastic stay for the cost!
- Michael (5/5): wouldn’t stay again & wouldn’t recommend to anyone - The size of the rooms was great to what we have stayed in before.rooms was clean with fresh towels. On arrival the customer service was really poor the b n b looked like it was all closed we got greeting by sarah even tho it seemed as if she didn’t no we was coming. she showed us to our rooms and there was no other communication other then breakfast and this was as little as possible as both the hosts disappeared out the back other than asking us what we would like & that they don’t like waste so could we tell them what our kids would eat. the pictures of the breakfast on the booking & advertising are not accurate you get one sausage one slice of bacon 1 hash brown a few chopped mushrooms and a tiny ramekin of beans. Although the rooms was big and clean the bed was like sleeping on a bed of stone.
- Allan (10/5): Exceptional - Great hosts who were very friendly and happy to help with anything we required.
The two bedroom family room was great, giving us & the kids their own space. Rooms were very clean, fresh, and warm.
Full English breakfast was delicious with a wide continental choice too.
Would highly recommend and will return on our next visit. N/A
- Welch (5/5): Passable - The location
The size of the rooms. They did seem to know we were arriving.
They didnt show us around the venue there didn't seem access to lounge area or bar.
There were comments around we don't want waste at breakfast

- Martin (3/5): Poor - Breakfast was brilliant. Room was old, in need of an update. Quite dusty and unclean. Bed very uncomfortable.
- Gary (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was very good. Room was very comfortable.
- Stacey (8/5): Pleasant, welcoming stay - Location was good, walked to end of street then you was on the main strip short walk from the main attractions, beach was in front of you, b@b owner Sarah absolutely lovely nothing was to much trouble, it was my partners 50th birthday and I asked if in some way it could be acknowledged, when we arrived there was 50th birthday banners up in our room and Sarah presented us with a chilled bottle of processco In a bucket with two champagne flutes, lovely touch and gesture, her husband was lovely too Bathroom was very small couldn't move in there

We received very good communication before our arrival and during our stay.
Excellent breakfasts! Not the fault of the property, but the hotel next door had a function on one night which was a bit on the noisy side.
- Kimberley (10/5): Exceptional -
