• Norman (10/5): Perfect location, extremely friendly happy staff, lovely room, exceptional breakfasts, what's not to - Where do I begin ? First point of contact was reception, receptionist was very friendly and efficient, full of useful information, and throughout the week with different receptionists, all exceptional, it felt like they enjoyed working there and were happy to help. The room was ready, even though we were early, and couldn't have asked for more, view wasn't brilliant, but hey ho, what does it matter. Breakfasts were possibly one of the best we have had, simple things like a little pot of nuts and seeds, which my GF loves, I mean a hotel with Ginseng Coffee on tap ! plenty of choice, different each day, restaurant staff were also very friendly and efficient. Hotel was located 20 - 30 metres from the main street, and roughly half way along it, so position was perfect, far enough away from traffic noise etc, yet close enough to be in easy walking distance. Oops, nearly forgot the cleaner, even she seemed happy working there, and the room was spick and span every day. Wasn't my bed ! To be fair, how can I complain, there was nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't as fluffy and snug as my own, the one I have moulded to my body over the last ten years or so... So it isn't a dislike or a gripe, think I'd probably say the same for every hotel ! Not going to mark it down for that !

• Buckley (10/5): A very enjoyable stay. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. - The breakfast was v good, plenty of choice. Staff were v helpful. The location if this hotel is excellent. Easy access for train and bus stations. Shopping and great choice of restaurants within a 5 minute walk. I cannot praise the staff on reception highly enough. They were really helpful with any questions regarding transport within the region. They even printed train timetables for our convenience.

Buffet breakfast offered lots of choices. The hotel is close to restaurants, shops, pharmacy, laundry mat, train station and the water front. My room didn’t look much like the photos, shower had a bit of an odor, the gym and car parking are at another hotel that’s about a 3 minute walk.

Breakfast was pretty good apart from the filter coffee which was truly awful. Good selection of eggs etc The coffee. The room while spacious and clean, it wasn't very welcoming. The floor had a plastic type flooring on it, the pillows were quite lumpy and the decor just wasn't appealing. Also we only had 1 small & 1 large towel for a couple, I called to reception and was told they were in the wardrobe. Why I don't know as we had booked a double room

I don’t go on vacation to watch TV, but there are days where it’s cold or rainy or that I simply want to stay in and relax. Having streaming services makes it a bit more comfortable when there are not a lot of options for English speaking shows.

Le fait de pouvoir disposer d'une place de parking à tarif très correct est aussi un atout et permet ensuite de visiter la ville à pied très facilement. Le bord de mer est à 5 min et est très agréable ! Pas de chance ce jour là il y avait des travaux dans la rue qui ont commencé très tôt mais l'hôtel n'y peut rien malheureusement et nous n'avons été que peu gênés car on devait se lever tôt.

• Tuds (10/5): Wonderful short break at great value hotel with outstanding front of house staff. - The hotel’s in a really central location ,just off one of the main shopping streets, a 15 minute walk from the station and a very short stroll to the port area.The reception area is fresh, modern and stylish and felt very comfortable and welcoming . We were 3 adults sharing a room ( saving a bit of money!) and whilst not huge it was perfectly adequate. Beds ( and sofa bed) were on the firm side ,very comfortable and good quality bed linen. Bathroom was spacious and the shower wos great. Room where breakfast was served felt rather small and we had to wait for a table one morning but this wasn’t a particular problem. Fantastic choice of food on offer, hot and cold, lots of fresh fruit, pastries, breads ,cheeses etc, good quality fruit juices ,even champagne(well ,prosecco)and a range of hot drinks. Saving the best to last . A massive shout out for the staff on reception who were exceptional .Gabriella who welcomed us on our first night was charming and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. Federico was on duty the following days and he helped with so much; checking train times (there’d been a national strike), suggesting and recommending places to visit ,phoning to ensure places were open etc. He even managed to get us a table at a restaurant that was showing as fully booked on the website and arranged for them to cook a particular dish that wasn’t on their menu. We felt like royalty!!!

The location is terrific “ if” you are not driving. Parking is a major challenge and you should definitely reserve a garage space through the hotel. , The challenge of finding a parking space.
