- Ron (7/5): Would have been acceptable except for the TV issues - The night clerk was helpful during a somewhat difficult situation for her. She was new to the position but was trying.
Bed was quite comfortable and facilities were nice. TV in room 223 (king bed) did not work. Transferred to room 226 (2 beds) where the audio and video on the TV were not in sync. ( off by @2 seconds). I didn't attempt to ask for another transfer.

- uselton (9/5): - Staff was great. Only thing was bathroom lighting was very low and no makeup mirror Lighting in bathroom and have a makeup mirror
- Bobbi (8/5): Wonderful stay - They was nice and rooms was clean
- H Lee (6/5): - There was black mold growing on the ceiling above the bed - I had to utilize my inhaler as it impacted my asthma
- Sweeney (7/5): -
- Burnis (6/5): -
- Tamar (10/5): - Nice, clean room. Staff very friendly
- William (10/5): - Pool was closed. Our room had no balcony
- Michelle (6/5): - Overall nice, but bathrooms are small & awkward to move around in, dusty. Rooms join so can hear everything. Construction being done, (understandable) added to noise early morning.
- Virginia (4/5): - The property is under construction and I fill like that should have been mentioned. The walkway was dirty and stuff was crumbling/ flaking from the ceiling. The room was clean but there was a bag over the smoke detector, black stuff on shower ceiling, no wash cloths or body wash in shower. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
- Leah (10/5): - Na
- Shawna (10/5): - Unbelievably friendly and welcoming staff. Clean rooms. Decent rates.
- Daphne (8/5): - The room was nice, it had a microwave, fridge and safe. I would say my only complaint it would the covers on the bed felt like we was sleeping with sheets, no blanket.
It was nice to be able to walk to our concert
- Maryann (4/5): Loud, loud, loud due to restaurant - The hotel is under renovation and we completely understood that aspect. Unfortunately, the loudness of this hotel had nothing to do with renovation. There is a restaurant open to the public on the 4th floor. Diners came and went throughout the evening. Often times those diners were very loud walking up the stairs, waiting for elevator, and departing. Most parked right below the windows which over half of the hotel faces that parking lot. Then between 9PM - 1AM the disturbance from the restaurant employees going in and out, blasting music, etc was ridiculous. It was after 1AM before things calmed down enough to sleep uninterupted.
Then upon waking at 6AM for our plans, we woke to no water in the hotel room. We called the front desk and was told a security guard would check the restaurant. That led us to believe this has happened before. We were supposed to get a return call to update, but no call came. 20 minutes later, we called the front desk again. A different person answered and told us a water line had broken and someone would be there to fix it as soon as possible. Luckily we left the shower faucet open so we heard the water running about 5 minutes later. So yes, we were able to quickly shower before we had to depart. However, there is no way a water line was fixed in less than 30 minutes. Obviously it was something to do with the restaurant, but we were lied to so it would not be the hotel's fault. Smallest bathroom in history!
- rick (10/5): - Nothing
- Robin (4/5): - Room door was open when I arrived. As a solo female traveler this is concerning. Carpet in the room was dirty and stained. Floor was so bad my feet had crumbs on them when I walked across the carpeting. The bathroom had no bath mat. The construction currently on going wasn’t listed on the website.
- Taylor (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay clean and comfortable would stay again
- Melanie (10/5): Super quite and comfy - I haven't slept so deeply at a hotel EVER! It was dated but they're working on updates and I was perfectly fine with that. Super comfy bed and above all it was stunningly quite! Probably because it's in Pikeville and not a huge city. Either way, it was great!
- Ronthel (10/5): - Quaint hotel in the scenic mountains. Friendly staff. My only complaint is that there was a gap in my door jamb.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Loved staying here.
- DAWN (6/5): - Con's: The Landmark has been around a very long time. Its time to update the property, the halls have the "carpet fresh" smell on the rug/floor to hide the older smell. Anyone can walk into the building because you do not need a key to get in.
Pro's: The front desk lady was very sweet and kind.
The shower was amazing, great water pressure.
The bed was comfortable, quiet room.
There is a restaurant on the 4th floor.
- Linda (8/5): Overnight Stay for Football Game - The room was very spacious and clean, however the bathroom was super small and awkward. It only had the toilet and shower in there, and you had to step to the side of the toilet to close the door. The door would hit your legs once seated it was so small. The shower was also very small. The vanity area which was outside of the bathroom was again, very small. However, everything was very clean and the bed was super comfortable! The price was quite reasonable and the check in staff were very friendly and helpful!
- Janie (10/5): - We stay at this Hotel often when we got to Kentucky, I gave them a 5 because I feel like they deserve it. If I had to add one negative it would just be the carpet needs to be cleaned.
- Shawn (6/5): - Bed was comfortable, butnroom odor and bathroom cleanliness was a challenge: Sticky bathroom floor and musty smells.
- Darrel (8/5): - Nice staff
- gary (7/5): - Facility and room was clean and comfortable. Would stay here again if in the area. Nothing of note
- Michelle (8/5): Ok stay - Clean room, comfortable bed. Old hotel. Needs more renovations. It appears they are in the process of doing so.
- Evan (10/5): - Stayed here for an overnight. Perfect for contractors and staying for work . Not bad at all, was very clean and front desk was VERY helpful and kind . Thats sets the tone for your hotel stay in my opinion. Thanks !
- sara (10/5): Great place for a night away. - Proximity to venue. Restaurant on property. N/a
- Mary (8/5): - Very friendly staff . Got what we needed.
- Robert (8/5): - Clean, quiet room for a quick stopover.
- Elizabeth (7/5): Decent place to stay in Pikeville - Fridge in room. Very good location. Restaurant on top floor. The worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. Pork fajitas were overdone, like leather and served in a sizzling plate of grease.
- Mildred (10/5): -
- Jeremy (10/5): - Great place and great staff.
- kenneth (6/5): - Just an old property. I’ve stayed there once before for 1 night only each time. I only need a clean bed etc. so $100 All In is fine.
- Heather (10/5): - Very nice and clean.
- Clay (4/5): - I liked that a medical facility was next door for the Hepatitis and Tetanus shots you'll need after staying here~ NASTY & GROSS~!!!!!
- Tiffany (4/5): - It’s a run down hotel with run down rooms, you get what you pay for on this one.
We did 3 room changes, they all stunk.
Stained carpets, stained bedding, the shower liner was disgusting (smells like pee), I literally wiped down EVERYTHING with Clorox wipes and it still felt dirty.
Definitely no walking barefoot in those rooms.
And the layout, especially the bathroom, ridiculous.
It’s an old runned down hotel and it shows inside and out.
They also need some serious pest control, cobwebs and massive spiders everywhere outside, especially at night.
People thinking, “oh we just need a bed to sleep in for the night,” okay but you’re sleeping in a dump.
Also, my 4 year old found a pill on the carpet in our room, you’d think housekeeping would have noticed that or vacuumed it up had they been properly cleaning the room. That could have went very bad, very quickly. We Googled it, it was an antipsychotic for mania. Imagine if he had ate it thinking it was candy, we would have had no idea what was going on.
Terrifying to think of as a Mother.
The staff was AMAZING tho, I will say that.
They are the BEST part of that hotel and I feel bad leaving this review because THEY WERE FABULOUS. Very sweet, accommodating, courteous, and helpful. WONDERFUL STAFF, best part of this place.
I will never stay here again. It reminds me of a pay by the hour motel, if you know what I mean.
- Kelly (10/5): - Friendly staff clean rooms
- Andrew (10/5): Great for the price! - The girl that checked me in was super nice. Building is old but clean. Beds were comfy.
- Kenneth (8/5): - Perfectly functional. Pretty clean (but musty odor). Bare minimum of towels in room (2). Fair price for decent room.
- James (8/5): - They are working on the outside to get it modernized. The room was already updated. No issues.
- Foster (10/5): -
- Keely (8/5): - Front desk staff were kind and accommodating. Some things could definitely be updated but overall got what we paid for.
- Vanessa (10/5): - We stayed for a quick visit with family. Very clean, easy check in and super comfy bed. Stayed on the top floor with a balcony.
- Barbara (10/5): - The pool is small but fine, the restaurant is good, the parking abundant, the staff were very pleasant, bed comfortable and clean.
- Ricky (10/5): - The best value in town. Clean rooms with updates and great hospitality. We use only the Landmark when we visit the area.
- Gregory (8/5): - The bed was comfortable and it was quiet
- Owen (10/5): - Nice clean rooms.
- Mike (8/5): - Nice Mexican restaurant on the 4th floor.
- Barry (10/5): Nice place very nice people - Very clean, with nice decor.ry
- Mildred (9/5): -
- Arthur (10/5): -
- jet1011 (2/5): Not worth it - I selected this hotel based on the reviews in Booking.com "Very Good" 4.6., Expedia "4.8". DON'T BELIEVE the reviews. The place is old, smells bad, it's run down, the hallway carpets are dirty and smell bad. The room smelled strange but after we turned on the a/c it got a little better. Bathroom is tiny, but it was clean. The only positive: the bed is very comfortable. Overall we regretted the choice, but we were very tired and decided to stay. It needs major renovations. I guess you get what you paid for.
- Sheila (7/5): Stay was ok. Definitely only the basics. - Nightly Rate was good. There was a hole in the bathroom door. Bathtub was in need of new chalk.
Curtain was barely hanging at front window.
- Lynn (10/5): - Rooms were very clean
- Debora (8/5): - The pool was great. We didn’t get our room serviced twice while there even though we put the card on the door. Two times we did put the “Do not disturb” sign on but were out of the room before 12:00 pm. We had to go to the service desk for clean towels. The attendant told us they will not service the room if they see the “Do not disturb” sign which I think is terrible. While on vacation, people would like to sleep in and not have to be out of there room by 6 am. A suggestion might be to recheck the floor in the afternoon. Thank you
- Kayla (10/5): - I’ve stayed here more than once, it’s always our favorite place to stay at during the summer. The kids enjoyed the outdoor pool. The fourth floor had a Mexican restaurant and bar which was very convenient for eating. As well as you are very close to a Wendy’s, McDonald’s, and gas station. Which is all you really need. It’s a small rural area which I’ve visited hundreds of times throughout my childhood and The Lankmark is always an excellent place to stay.
- Pamela (10/5): Comfy - I had a two-day stay. Very comfy.
- Heather (8/5): Overall we’d def stay here again, great for the rate! - The pool, pillows, and location of restaurants around us. Only 2 towels and we had 3 ppl, had to slam door shut or it wouldn’t lock , and parking
- Jay (2/5): - When we first got there they had a line in the lobby do to them being on break. Spiderwebs in entire to elevator. Food and crumbs under beds a long with a spit bottle under the bed, along with other wrappers.
- Roger (8/5): Over all very good. - Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was awesome. Slept very well. The shower was not very user friendly. Shower head had no adjustment and was so forceful that half the floor was wet.
Toilet seat could be upgraded to not slide side to side.
- Cecil (8/5): - Quick check in , room was nice. Property was cluttered and under construction.
- Angela R (6/5): A Rough Night’s Sleep - The lobby staff were very friendly. Housekeeping walked in on my co-worker. The carpet was horrible. The bathroom was too small, but clean. The bed was clean but the liner sheets were ripped. We had a horrible time finding a place to park! The walkway between the parking lot and hotel needs repaired. The pictures online were deceiving; it was nothing like advertised. The air conditioner and fridge worked great! We had no clue it was an enter from outside hotel, and we had no clue we would have to carry a lot of heavy items up the first set of steps. It was a rough night’s sleep due to light from the parking lot bleeding through the curtains.
- Doris (10/5): - Very clean
- Amber (6/5): - The room was wonderful. The beds are super comfy. The only issue I had was when the housekeeper cleaned my room she failed to replance the towels. She took the dirty ones but never replaced them. I had to go to front office to get more. The problem was... there was no one in the office for about 35 mins. I called the office number and rang the bell many times. Finally walked out side and rang the doorbell at the door next to the office. I essentially spent more time waiting in the office for towels than i did swimming 😒 I was not the only one waiting to be helped.
- Mildred (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dennis (8/5): - It was clean Room service was good
- Barbara (10/5): Would recommend to anyone - The staff was very friendly. Check in and out was very fast. Rooms were clean. Had a nice pool area.
- Johnson (7/5): Good -
- halston (6/5): - The room was clean. we liked that. Getting in the bathroom was a challenge as you had to shimmy your body in the shut the door to go to the restroom. They need to fix that. Also the shower curtain did not hold the water in at all. The pool was nice we totally enjoyed that. All in all it was a decent place to lay our heads at night.
- Mildred (10/5): Exceptional -
