• maryhN9380KO (4/5): Dated apartment - We stayed at the dorothea apartments for 1 week recently,they are in a good location near the beach supermarkets and restaurants.The apartment was quite basic and dated,the kitchen was small with very poor cooking facilities,just 2 small rings and no oven it was difficult to fit 2 pots on the rings together,it wasn't cleaned every day and towels only changed every 3 days,I emailed and requested a double bed but the 2 bedrooms had 2 single beds in each bedroom,I got no reply to the email ,it costs €27 to get a key to open the safe in the bedroom you get a refund of €10 back when you return the key , the reception staff are pleasant and helpful,there is a nice square about 10 minutes away where there is open air dancing every evening ,I wouldn't stay at those apartments again
• Federico (6/5): Okay for the price - The property has 2 bed rooms only which is great if you are sharing with a friend. Some notes on it: - all single beds (even in the bigger room, and put together, they constantly moved due to wheels) - kitchen wasn’t fully functional and main utensils were missing. Spent about 15€ to buy basic condiments and basic utensils. - bathroom has bit of mold in the ceiling. Glass door for the shower wasn’t easy to open/close. We had to buy hand soap for the bathroom as well as use own shower gel because the one provided didn’t smell too good - swimming pool was okay, with a nice small bar (mixed info about opening timing of both). - cleaning of the room isn’t every day and often they would come too early in the morning or too late - air con was the best thing of the apartment - small upgrades/improvements would make the property much better and enjoyable

• Martin (10/5): - We Loved this accommodation: It was a typical Spanish Apartment. The Accommodation was spacious and ultra clean. The Staff were Exceptional. Breakfast was good and had a great variety. We will be booking again !
• Andrea Hernández (10/5): - Sin duda un acierto! La ubicación es perfecta estás a 3 min de la playa caminando y tienes un supermercado al lado por si necesitas algo a última hora. El servicio del bar de la piscina es buenísimo súper trato y agradable ambiente. Tienes una segunda piscina solo para adultos más tranquila y sobre la limpieza un 10! El personal es muy amigable y atento. Buena buena calidad-precio.
• catd12 (10/5): Great complex and apartments. - We arrived after the reception closed but there is a number to ring on the door and someone arrived out with our key. The apartment was a seen in the photos. AC in the sitting room as well as both bedrooms. The mattresses on the beds were fantastic and no issues with sleep. There is a hob and a microwave but no oven. Breakfast is provided in the adjacent building, a 2 min walk away. Hot and cold foods available. Regarding the location, it was excellent. Turn left when you go out the gate and it's a 10 min walk to the Yumbo centre. Turn right when you go out the gate and it's a 10 min walk to the beach. The staff in the complex and very nice and friendly. Our room was cleaned every second day. Also the entrance, walkways and pool area were cleaned almost daily. There is a pool bar but we never went to it. We really enjoyed our stay and would have no problem stay here again.
• M (10/5): Perfect apartments near the beach - Great apartments, wee walk away from the beach. We thought the property deserves at least 3*, maybe even 3*+ Kitchen is equipped with almost everything you may need, the only thing missing was an oven. Nice, comfy beds. Internet wasn't the best, but usable. Excellent pool and great pool bar with reasonable prices. Breakfast was also great, however the baked goods could have been freshly sourced. All staff were lovely and very helpful. We absolutely enjoyed our stay in Dorotea and would be happy to return in the future
• andymE1432LB (6/5): Patio Cleaners - Charming staff but watch out for the Patio Cleaners at 7:30am dragging the sunbeds around to clean ... every morning. Complex is tied to another for shared breakfast and pool that is not adults only as advertised.

• DanCope1982 (10/5): Amazing value for money, felt like a 4 star hotel. - Clean, spacious, comfortable, memory foam pillows, excellent mattresses, great shower, WiFi, kitchen with everything you need, large fridge, balcony looking seaward, extremely helpful staff, good cleaners, pool with bar staff that are very friendly. All in all, excellent value for money.
• mikaelmak (2/5): Worst hotel we ever have been to! - The hotel does not match the standards. Our room was only cleaned one time in a whole week, and you only got new towels every third day. It is not even allowed to smoke cigarettes at the balcony. The pressure in The shower was so terrible and insane hot water. There was no cold water. There is also insects at the room. The breakfast is not worthy buying, better to eat fresh baguettes from the grocery store.

• CheryllV (2/5): Everage went very bad - What started of as a pretty good experience soon turned into a bad one. We had 3 apartments with 2 bedrooms (total of 12 persons from all ages 72-6) for a family holiday. The second day "the adolescents" were send away from the pool because of "closing hours", the 3 were not loud and obey all the poolrules. 15 minutes after they left, another group entered the pool and they were allowed in. When asked about the reasons why nobody could answered. The last 3 days. The hottest days on the island with a 44°c the airconditioning wasnt functioning and blowing hot air instead of cold air. We went to the reception 8!!!! Times and they promised the had it fixed. This never happend. And we had 3 sleepless nights. Overall a very bad experience which seemed like locals with a hired apartment had more rights then foreign tourists.

Da consigliare anche per famiglie poiche' dotata di due piscine , una per bimbi e di parco giochi.Disponibilita' del personale di servizio eccellente.
• melaniextwo (10/5): clean and central - we had a lovely stay at Dorotea. really spacious 2 bedroom apartments equipped with everything we needed. central location to the beach, kasbah and yumbo. cleaned every day. we had room 406 and could see the sea which was lovely. plenty of loungers and parasols. will return soon
• mg040568 (10/5): Superb - Cannot fault these amazing apartments. Spotlessly clean. Good sized. Everything you need for self catering. Lady on reception was just amazing gave us so much info was very friendly and her customer service was exceptional. Their Covid practices were brilliant and followed. Also the pool bar was great and again super customer service from the lady there. Highly recommended and would definitely go back.
• drewedmin999 (10/5): Brilliant for the money - At 2 star we weren’t expecting much, but were very pleasantly surprised. As a family of 4 we got a large living room with TV, 2 bedrooms, a small but useable balcony, large bathroom, and well equipped kitchen. Pool is small and generally there were too many people in it for us to consider getting in post Covid 19, but if you go early or late in the day it’s quieter. Air con was fine during 32 degree weather Location a massive plus, being only a 6 minute walk away from the beach. Nice budget accommodation which was clean, comfortable and excellently located.
• I3454ZHkevins (10/5): Great Apartments excellent location - Just got home from staying at these apartments. The reception staff so help full and accommodating to our needs at a very hard time for Gran Canaria. They moved us to a room with a terrace on our 2nd day so we were not coupled up on a balcony. This allowed us more freedom to move around due to the lockdown. The reception staff were so on the ball with information in order for us to be safe. The pool bar staff were very friendly and did a service of delivering food and drinks to people's rooms. All in all due to the circumstances we had a lovelystay at these apartments and would definitely return.
• minkypip (8/5): Affordable, chilled out, friendly apartments - Stayed here with my parents, partner and two kids aged 9 & 10. Chose these apartments based on price (value budget) and reviews. Pros Heated pool (it may not feel overly warm as you are getting in, but once you are in it’s lovely) Clean apartments - the house keeping staff are fab Comfy beds - there are two large single beds in the master bedroom (pushes together to make a double) - these were super comfy. The two singles in the kids room were also comfy Pool view - all the apartments overlook the pool, we were on third floor and had a glimpse at the sea (lower floors had a terrace and may not see the pool which is sunken behind a fence) Chilled atmos - there is a super chilled feel to the apartments. My son was allowed to play with a small float and staff working at the pool bar appear relaxed Location - 10 minutes walk to the beach, 5 minutes to the Kashbah shopping centre and 10 minutes to the Yumbo shopping centre. Wine and water on arrival is a nice touch as was the washing up liquid, scourer and towel. Always able to get a padded subbed - which was nice You can use the Don Diego’s adults only pool and buffet breakfast (8 Euros adults 4 kids) Cons (for some) If you like a lively hotel with kids clubs, entertainment and activities this probably isn’t for you. There are some signs of wear and tear and ageing (this didn’t bother us at all but may some) Tips There aren’t any proper bowls in the apartments - if you eat cereal take some with you or buy some there The apartments have a couple of secure entrances, you get dropped from the coach at the Don Diego entrance but if you book a parasailing trip you get picked up from the street entrance (opp reception) I would happily recommend and return to these apartments if I was visiting Gran Canaria again
• rebeldiamond90 (8/5): A great base! - We stayed here for 1 week during the winter season. On arrival we had no idea how to get into the apartments, luckily a maintenance man was working on the entry gate and let us in. Check in was very quick, friendly staff in the office. We got one of the 8L water bottles which is amazing for only €1.60! So much better than carrying it back from the supermarket. Our apartment was on the 3rd floor. We had 1 bedroom with two singles pushed together to make a double bed and two single beds in the other room. Our apartment was always clean and we had daily maid service apart from Sunday which is their day off. The bathroom was a good size with a huge shower (amazing water pressure!) but no bidet which is something pretty standard in Spanish accommodation. There was also a hairdryer in the bathroom. The bath towels are very small so if you’re a larger person you might want to take your own! You can rent pool towels for a €10 deposit, which is returned once you take the towel back. The living area was very spacious with a sofa, chair, dining table and open kitchen area. We had a flat screen TV on the wall, with two English speaking channels (both news channels) Each apartment has its own WiFi router which is password protected so it was very reliable. The kitchen had a good sized fridge with proper freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster and two hob rings. There was a selection of pans and utensils in the cupboards. The only thing we missed was any kind of bowls on offer, we had lots of plates but nothing else. It was interesting when we had soup one night! We did have a problem on several occasions with very small bugs in the kitchen. Even just leaving a drink on the side would see them swarm to it, food was an absolute no no even if you were just preparing it on the worktop. The balcony was a good size but I think 4 people would find it a struggle to sit out there. The lighting is also very poor for sitting out there in the evening. You’ll also find a drying rack on the balcony. Our main problem was the air conditioning. Having read reviews before we went we were looking forward to having the option of cooling down the apartment when needed. However it never ever felt cool for us, even leaving it on for many hours didn’t have the desired effect. The pool area was good with nice padded sun beds but the floor was quite damaged and sharp in lots of places. Quite dangerous for small children who tend to run around without looking at what they’re stepping on. We felt that the maintenance of the grounds was lacking just a little bit, there was the odd fence post here and there just slung under some shrubs and some paint work that really needed sorting out. A little bit of effort would have the place looking great. The apartments are in a great location. There’s several supermarkets within a 5 minute walk. A 10 minute stroll down the hill to the beach/prom area. If you can’t face the uphill climb back then a taxi is €3, well worth it if you’ve had a big meal and one too many drinks! We didn’t have any problems with noise from other guests or the wider area. Some local bars had music and shows on but we didn’t hear anything after around 11.30pm. The complex felt very safe with gated entry on both sides. Would definitely return here in future, it was a comfortable stay in a great location.
• 359paulines (8/5): Holiday - Had a fantastic time rooms lovely staff very kind and helpful everything you need guys at the pool cafe amazing food fantastic great wk will be back again asked if we could keep room a little bit longer as we had a late flight home we got to keep it till the bus turned up to take us to airport never cost us anything to keep it for the extra hours
• CraigM85 (8/5): No frills, no stress, no problems - The apartments were clearly built when Playa Del Ingles first became developed, and in this respect they are showing their age. However, they have been modernised through air con in all rooms, touch cards for locks, modern elevators and a revamped reception. The location is incredible, within 5 minutes of the beach, the Yumbo, the Kasbah and several supermarkets. We had messaged in advanced to request a ground floor apartment which was provided - worthwhile as you get more outside space with an small garden in addition to the balcony space that other rooms have. For us, with young children, this was ideal. The swimming pool is fine, the sun beds comfortable with mattresses. Never a rush on sun beds. The location of the hotel, and nearby high rise blocks, means that the pool area is in the shade by mid/late afternoon. The pool bar serves good quality food, and we ate there 3 times before exhausting the menu. Our only gripe would be the housekeeping. The floor never seemed to be properly cleaned. Towels are changed every 3 days, but ours were not on our 3rd day, and on our 4th day when we requested a towel change there was some difficulty, although ultimately obliged. We would definitely consider returning in the future.
• MarcBlowers (6/5): September holiday get what you pay for - Visited late September. We paid extra for breakfast which was the most disappointing and not VFM. It was basically continental no real offer of English breakfast in fact I went out four times to buy breakfast. The apartments were large and clean but dated. They were regularly cleaned. There is access to two pools one is adults only. Children cannot get to the pools without an adult as they have security gates with high level locks which is good for safety. There is a bar by one pool but it shut at 6pm and there was no where to buy a beer before going out I like to have a bar on site where uou can do thud. Fairly near to beach took about 5 mins to walk to. There is hardly any sea view apart from a few apartments. Shower was good and powerful. It’s clean but basic but close to beach and amenities probably wouldn’t rush back though mainly due to dated rooms poor breakfast and no bar in evening.

• Jose Luis (8/5): Fantastico!!! - El hotel, para ser sinceros, fue una sorpresa muy agradable, no me esperaba tan buen hotel, tanto la habitacion como sus insalaciones. Respecto al personal, en Canarias suele ser gente muy maja, pero en este hotel estaban gente, pero muy muy maja, realmente encantadores!!! un diez a todos. Sin duda si vuelvo a Gran Canaria, que espero que si, este es mi hotel. Lo recomiendo cien por cien.

• Daniel (8/5): Bra prisvärt hotell, men saknar AC på rummen. - Mycket prisvärt alternativ och bra för familjer. Stort rum, bra läge på orten, bra frukost och bra läge på pool. Det enda som är negativt är att rummen saknar AC. Allt annat var bra.
