Breakfast was delicious and included Scottish additions which I hadn't tried before: Lorne (square sausage) and haggis. I would highly recommend a visit to the Village Inn, and we will definitely return if in the area again.

An ideal place to stop off on the way to/from Cairnryan, further north into Scotland or for longer stays to explore the beautiful Borders area.

- Norma (10/5): A Hidden Gem Off the Motorway - We were driving to North Scotland from East Sussex and wanted to break our drive overnight and The Village Inn and Kirtle House B&B was ideally situated to do this. There was ample parking at the rear of the property through a gate. Alison, the proprietor was extremely welcoming and accommodating. The bedroom was thoughtfully set out with accessories, tea and coffee making facilities. The bed linen was clean and the bed very comfortable. Alison recommended the local Pub for an evening meal, which was a short distance away, which was very good. Alison's breakfast menu was amazing which included the full Scottish consisting of lean black pudding, homemade haggis and Lorne sausage. We would certainly recommend this B&B and would definitely stay there again.

Alison made us feel so welcome and relaxed and the breakfast was made to order and fantastic!

The lady owner was friendly, she allowed us to have our own food at the table in the evening, bathroom had all the toiletries you would ever need, the breakfast was tailored made for each of us, fresh fruit salad, freshly made porridge and a full cooked Scottish breakfast. Very good value. Highly recommend it

The family room is perfect, lots of space and proper beds (no mattresses on the floor or fold outs). Breakfast was delicious. We took our dog and she was made very welcome too. The inn had some renovation works going, but that did not disturb or affected our stay! The hostess was attentive, tasty breakfast! Would stay again should be in the area.

- Wendy (10/5): Couples Getaway - Family Time - A warm welcome was to be found at The Villlage Inn. Alison, our hostess couldn't have done more. The chatting around a cozy fire with a glass in hand made for a relaxing evening with all the comforts of home. Our room was bright, airy and spacious and my partner and I slept like logs. As for the breakfast..hot and plenty of it. Try the Scottish Breakfast if you can, the haggis is delightful. Wouldn't hesitate in visiting again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Specious, modern, clean and well-equipped rooms. Delightfully dog-welcoming - but you donât need to have a dog to qualify for the welcome!

Alison cooked us a delicious meal which was piping hot. The Inn is licensed too. The photo of the outside doesnât do justice to the cosiness, comfort and warmth inside. - Wayne (10/5): Five star - This is a hidden gem in a very quiet little hamlet.The owner was very welcoming. The food was good and plentyfull breakfast was delicious and filling. The room was extremely comfortable especially the bed it was so comfortable i slept through my wake up alarm which ive not done for nany years.The bathroom was very clean and nicely fitted with a Fantastic shower. Tea and coffee is provided along with a tunnocks teacake and a small fridge in the room also.Would highly recommend and will definitely going back.

It is only a few minutes from the motorway in a small village setting. Alison could not have been more welcoming and our room was spacious with a nice modern shower room.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Ideal stop over. Biker friendly. Good value. - Although not a 5* hotel this was a perfect stop over on the way up to the Scottish Highlands and when we travelled back down. The building and accommodation is undergoing improvements and the bedroom and en-suite was very comfortable with tea & coffee facilities in the room (perfect touch after a long journey) and basic toiletries supplied (brilliant when youâre limited on space on a motorbike). Staff went above and beyond to make us welcome and even prepared a homemade dessert especially for our return trip. We were two couples travelling on two motorbikes. Bike parking available at the rear of building out of sight and solid driveway on the flat without being gravel - perfect for when youâre tired. If you are looking for a wine menu, on tap ales or nightlife in the village this is not for you as this is the only hotel/bar/place to eat in the village with a fair menu and good breakfast. Perfect as a base/stop over and good value for money. The little resident dog was lovely and very well behaved too âșïž

This B & B is first class and fully deserves its 5 star rating. I highly recommend this B & B. I loved the peace and quiet and was able to get a superb sleep.

- Janet (10/5): Outstanding value for money - We had s great time with Alison, Fraser and Dylan the dog. A very relaxed B&B with a lovely room, comfy beds and outstanding hospitality. We stayed three nights and were welcomed to be a part of games night with the locals - this evening was fantastic. A lovely village, close to a range of historical sites. The breakfasts were outstanding. We loved our stay and were made to feel so very welcome.
