Guest Reviews
- Val (9/5): Fabulous - Beautiful views Outdoor pool wasn’t open
- Yvonne (10/5): - I could see the water from my room! The staff was very kind and helpful! My 92 year old mother-in-law could get in the pool with the chair lift that the maintenance man worked to make available for her. I loved the little kitchen. I had to leave. Part of the building was blocking my view of the actual sunrise.
- Erica (7/5): Relaxing, beautiful few days at the beach. - Location was great. Loved the balcony! Dinner from Hemingway’s was great! There was not any negatives. It is pricey but worth it for the location.
- shailaja (7/5): -
- Marc (8/5): Calm relaxing vibe with great beach - Great location.
Restaurant served very good food The coffee in the room was horrible and no tea as an alternative. Creamer powder did not enhance taste.
- Brown (9/5): -
- Charles (10/5): A comfortable and convenient stopover on my trip! - Ocean view, beautiful room, walking distance to downtown for meals Nothing
- Rick (10/5): -
- Christine C. (6/5): Our first visit to Cape May was enjoyable and the hotel was decent. - Proximity to beach. Quietness of the neighborhood. The bed was too high. The price and the room options were limited. Would have preferred two double beds. Otherwise renovations seemed nice. The restaurant’s breakfast was not the best.
- Barbara (10/5): We had a wonderful time. Just across the road from the beach. - The hotel was obviously recently rennovated. New paint and stucco. The rooms very clean and had a new feel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Hemingway's restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced.
- Guy (9/5): Very pleasant and relaxing stay at Cape May on Mothers day - Proximity to The Main Center of Town. The fact that the beach is right across the road. The fact it is connected to Hemmingway bar and they had a good DJ was a Plus. That for the price breakfast was not included.
- Chris (9/5): - The convince of all items in the room, commentary bikes, indoor pool Nonothing
- Concetta Marie (8/5): All and all it was good - The restaurant staff phone drinks were great The bed was to close to the wall and there was no room to get in the bed from the right side
- nancy (8/5): Great hotel awesome food, and excellent service - Clean, good food and close to the strip
- Pamela (8/5): -
- W2427GElauries (10/5): Anniversary stay! - The whole experience was excellent! The Hotel, Hemingway's, the staff were great 👍! Sarah was very helpful! She was friendly, professional truly concerned that our experience was great!
- Emily (9/5): - Indoor pool was perfect - heated as well! Our beds and room were comfortable with every amenity needed. Clean and well kept property. Parking was hard to come by on property, so we ended up using the meter lots often.
- James (10/5): -
- Kate (9/5): Overall, excellent - Staff Old facilities for the AC
- Malia (9/5): Pleasant and responsive staff, clean facilities, a nice pool, and an excellent location near the beach - Close to everything, a beautiful remodel, and a great pool. The toilet needed to be adjusted
- Don (10/5): A relaxing weekend in Cape May 8 - Great location...short walk to beach, shops and restaurants... Generous room... No problem with getting a crib... Indoor pool, fitness center and more The worst thing that I could think of were the small elevators.
- William (9/5): -
- KentGroves (10/5): Updated Old Cape May influence - The Grand Hotel has an Old Cape May
Influence with an updated feel. Dune and ocean views, the smell of the salt water, the promenade along the ocean front and an easy walk to Washington Street all are pluses for The Grand.
Our food was delicious, the service people were efficient and cordial and our stay was pleasant. Kiddos to Hailey who seemed to everywhere making sure things were on track.
- billg627 (10/5): Our Saviors - We were relieved to find that the Grand Hotel actually has staff at their front desk. We had booked with another hotel and we're unable to check in because we arrived a few minutes after 10pm. We even called them, the day before arrival, to make sure it was OK if we arrived a few minutes late. Since we were stranded without a room, we called the Grand Hotel and the wonderful staff hooked us up with a room quickly. Our room was clean, comfortable, reasonably priced, and the staff was superb. We will definitely return to the Grand Hotel in the future.
- michellesL1861OR (4/5): Total rip off - My husband and I wanted a get- away for our anniversary. When we arrived there was construction going on and almost no where to park. The entire inside parking garage was filled with renovation furniture and construction stuff. The King room suite we paid for was old, had dirty carpets, and rusty vents. The gym is a joke - no free weights just a few machines. The TV in the sitting lounge was broken.
Very very disappointing. I have nothing positive to say.
- Mark (10/5): - the room was great clean and what we expected. the pool and hot tub are great a big inprovment since we where there last constuction was a little problem but a must to keep the properity looking great so reaiily not a problem.
- Donald (7/5): I would hesitate to stay here again based on the multiple issues during an important work trip - Location was nice. Room had a great view of the water. Heavy construction. Also, room ac didn’t work so it was 80 all night. I was sweating all night and got bad sleep on a work trip. Not good at all.
- popsfarb (10/5): Wonderful Pool - Wonderful staff and absolutely fantastic indoor pool. We’ll definitely be back.
- Y947SAnormam (8/5): Wonderful - Great place, the restaurant is amazing and prices too!! the hotel was super clean and great location.
- tina (9/5): -
- T5004ABjenniferm (8/5): Great hotel, here are some suggestions. - The hotel is very nice. Our timing was off with the construction going on, but I am sure it will be fantastic when done. Huge indoor and outdoor pools. The rooms are nice. My only issue was the mirror/sink area in the bathroom is very small. I would suggest creating another space outside the bathroom for someone to get ready. And the plug in next to the bed didn't work. First night we had no charge when we woke up. We would stay here again. Cape May is very nice too.
- William (10/5): -
- R2818QAdinak (10/5): Customer Service Oriented - In a world full of AI and digital answering machines it’s rarely that you get human interaction, and if you do get it, let’s be honest, most of the time you don’t get a good one.
That’s not what I have encountered with the Grand Hotel of Cape May. From my experience, their customer service was totally GRAND! Debbie, the reservations manager was amazing, she listened to my issues, understood exactly what I needed and amazingly fulfilled what I have asked for. Thank you to this awesome service!
- Dawn (10/5): - The view of the ocean was beautiful. The staff were informative and helpful
- L1248IOronaldp (10/5): My new favorite place - Nothing less then Spectacular.
- Mark (10/5): - The stay was memorable...
- Colleen (9/5): - Loved the mini kitchen Hard pillows
- Lo (5/5): -
- X3240POstevew (8/5): Good but check for hotel activities first - I would have given a 5 star rating but the big draw back for me was the parking. There was a wedding going on the last night we were there and used up the small amount of parking that you have and made harder for actual hotel guests to find parking. Saw many cars parked in lot without tag. To me it was not enforced parking rules.
- OnAir07375543423 (8/5): spring weekend - Very nice..clean with great service and restaurant.
- tomwH301PE (10/5): Great stay - Great stay..
.room was great, immaculate. Amenities great. Restaurant and bar were very good and fun.
- Alexander (6/5): - That was staff great. Electrical outlet in room was not installed correctly and not working.
Had to move the coffee station to an alternate plug (from above), after having to go to the front desk to get K-Cups because the room was not supplied with them.
Waste of time bringing bubble bath because the tub stopper was broken.
This was probably the best, unable to open the bathroom window because the shutter installed on it was on backwards preventing you from opening the shutter at all because it hit the sink. Therefore you couldn't open the window.
Booking was deceiving, supposed to get food credit for breakfast, restaurant on site disagreed with that so did the hotel. So spent more money than should have.
- Cynthia (10/5): -
- Anna (10/5): Highly recommend it! - Very clean, specious rooms with small kitchen included and dining table. I booked it for the wrong day by accident but they still accommodated us at no extra cost. Staff was kind! Location was ideal, super closed to everything! Nothing
- Miles (8/5): -
- Robert (10/5): Assume time away with my birthday girl “75” years young. - The construction in front of hotel… the cement removal and concrete cutting made a huge dust storm that covered my jeep.
- Maria (10/5): -
- Brett (8/5): Great location nice staff, should be more forthcoming about preseason limits - Staff very nice. Great location. Nice room Not their fault but going under construction rn and they didn’t serve breakfast which my booking said was a draw.
- Zivan (10/5): - The indoor heated pool and jacuzzi were awesome.
Staff is very friendly. Everything looks new and clean.
- M4790URsuer (10/5): Great Time!! - Had a wonderful time, we celebrated our anniversary and birthday. Friendly and helpful staff. Will go back!
- Traveler465093 (10/5): Perfect Getaway - Amazing Amenities - Beach Location perfect. Walking distance to shops. Rooms new with great kitchens . Amazing indoor pool. Staff incredible! Celebrated Anniversary at Hemingway’s Restaurant maitre gave us a card with balloons, dessert and champagne we stayed for the DJ and great happy hour too …
We will definitely come back 🥂☀️🏖️
- Andrea (5/5): - Across from the beach and the restaurant was amazing and staff It was too far from Washington mall area and we didn’t like our suite room basic and not enough closet space etc not warm and welcoming and bed room was small and tight ! The elevators were an issue and most of the time had to take the stairs leaving the hotel
- Robyn (10/5): - Amazing views… the indoor pool and hot-tub were an added bonus!
- kaitlynp994 (10/5): Spring break with kids - We were a group of 5, 2 grandparents, 1 parent, and 2 kids. We took advantage of the spring break promotion that included breakfast. Cape May is such a nice town and we enjoyed shopping, dining, nature trails, walking on the beach, and a trip to the zoo. My daughter’s favorite part was the pool, and my son made a new friend. The indoor pool is huge and open all day so there’s plenty of time to fit a swim in between activities. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and let us get right into enjoying our day. Rooms are comfortable, fridge was big, appreciate the extra sink outside the bathroom. It’s a really nice hotel, great for families or any travelers.
- J7725UAanitas (10/5): We had a spring break "stay-cation" at the Grand Hotel in Cape May! - We had a spring break "stay-cation" at the Grand Hotel in Cape May! The oceanfront room was amazing...waking up to that view alone made the trip extra special.
We had 2 pre-teen boys and they absolutely loved the indoor pool, which was why we booked it. The location couldn’t be better. Less than a mile to Washington Square, shops and restaurants...cute beach town.
What really stood out was the staff. When we arrived there was some electrical issue with the check-in, but we went to the pool and waited for the text that the room was ready. Everyone was incredibly helpful and made sure we were well taken care of from start to finish. We booked directly through the hotel (not a third-party site), and the experience was smooth and they were very accommodating. It was a little pricey for mid-week in April, but still cheaper than summer. We highly recommend for families or anyone looking for a relaxing beach getaway. We’ll definitely be back!
- James (8/5): -
- kykimja (10/5): Nice stay - My daughter and I did a quick mid week overnight trip for spring break. We had a great time. The hotel was clean, smelled good and everyone was professional and friendly. Complimentary bikes to ride around town was an amenity i didnt know and we enjoyed so much. They were perfect!
- FillyFan (10/5): WOW! - The Spring Break Special at the Grand was great! Beautiful, CLEAN! and comfy accomodations, updated indoor pool, friendly and professional staff, GREAT location and Hemingway's restaurant as always providing excellent food and service! Thanks to Debbie and Margie, Bill and Haley, Charlene, Ricardo and Kathleen for making our stay enjoyable. We are looking forward to our next visit to Cape May and will be recommending the Grand to friends and family!
- F764WTkristyb (10/5): Easter Tradition - This is our third Easter at the Grand, and we’ve decided to make it a yearly tradition to stay for Easter weekend. The rooms are always clean, and our kids love the indoor pool. Hemingway’s is a fantastic restaurant, and the Easter package includes breakfast every day and a really nice Easter Brunch that we always enjoy. Growing up in Cape May, we have the option to stay at my mom’s or sister’s for free, but we choose the Grand and have never been disappointed.
- Mather (8/5): Facility and staff were great, other guests were noisy and kids running down the hall. -
- daphne (8/5): -
- johnrM2825XI (10/5): We’ll be back - Room was very nice. Brought some of my grandchildren. They loved the indoor pool. Hemingway’s was great for dinner. Very kids friendly. Service was great
- Nicole (10/5): Excellent spring break getaway for my family. - The indoor pool and the modern decor. The restaurant on site. Loved everything.
- JULIEANNE (10/5): -
- Denise (7/5): I’ve stayed here before and had wonderful experiences however I had an interior room. This time I was given an outside r - Location of hotel Hated the outside room, very loud with people coming and going at all hours. Also didn’t like that I could hear music from people above me coming through bathroom vents.
- nicolesL9556CE (2/5): poor - I need to speak with a manager. I was locked in my bathroom due to a faulty door handle/lock and couldn’t get through to the front desk for help. My 7-year-old child had to get me out, which is a serious safety concern. I have the whole situation under a video.
When I reported it, I did not receive an apology—only an offer to send maintenance late at night after my child was already asleep.
The front of the mini fridge in the room is also covered in rust, which is unacceptable and raises concerns about cleanliness and maintenance.
Additionally, the pool has been unusable due to repeated lack of supervision, with groups of children taking over the area.
This experience has been unsafe and unacceptable, and I would like this properly addressed.
- Michele45944 (10/5): We had a lovely stay at the Grand Hotel! - We had a lovely stay here this weekend! The front desk staff were gracious, the room was so pretty and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and we had an awesome view of the ocean. We felt it was a good value and we look forward to coming again soon.
- M9092XSchristinap (10/5): Quick getaway! - Beautiful hotel in the perfect location! Rooms were clean and modern and the accommodations exceeded our expectations. Also, they have the friendliest, most helpful staff around. We will definitely be coming back!
- Campbelljs30 (8/5): - The room was clean and the addition of the balcony was a great surprise! The bar and wait staff were attentive and friendly and check in was very easy. Dirty towels with hair on the from someone else. We did have one clean towel though the discovery of someone else's hair wasn't exactly great.
- shavaung2026 (10/5): Fantastic weekend! - Another fantastic girls weekend at The Grand Hotel! Thank you for offering this event for an amazing preseason getaway. The four of us had so much fun both with your scheduled events and just hanging out together. Every staff member without exception was friendly and helpful. Looking forward to visiting again! ☺️
- martin (9/5): Enjoyable - Staff was very helpful
- jeanrF9248SL (10/5): Lovely place to stay! - What a lovely and relaxing stay. Hotel is beautiful and clean. Staff is very friendly and took good care of us. It was March, so we enjoyed the indoor pool which was delightful. Pool and hot tub is very clean and warm and there is no heavy smell of chlorine in the room. Comfy loungers and sitting areas all around the pool. We ate at the hotel restaurant, Hemingway's for their prime rib special and it was delicious. You can walk right across the street to the beach, and there is a lovely front deck with loungers to sit in the sun and look at the ocean. It was a great value in March! Our room was right across from the elevator and ice/vending machine and there were no noise issues. The room is well appointed with second vanity sink, comfy couch and a balcony with 2 rocking chairs. I would highly recommend staying here. We will return again.

- Amanda9075 (10/5): First time in cape may - Clean and friendly staff. Great location
- joannemO8605CZ (10/5): What a perfect stay! - I made a mistake when I made our reservation & the front desk staff corrected it quickly, without any upcharge! We had a free night that I didn't even know about, they added it to our stay.
Room was clean, beds were comfortable & the rocking chairs on the balcony werr perfect for enjoying the beautiful ocean view.
Dinner at Hemingways was excellent, not always the case with hotel restaurants. I had the prime rib, perfectly cooked & my husband thoroughly enjoyed the broiled seafood combo. We took dessert to our room & enjoyed them on the balcony.
We'll be back!
- Brenster17 (10/5): Celebrating 60 at The Grand's 80 ladies prove Girls Just Want to Have Fun!! - The 80's ladies weekend was amazing. The service, detail, accommodations, food, dj, photo booth, staff, venue, rooms were fabulous. We had 13 of us and it was far beyond what we could have expected. Seriously, one of the best girls weekends we have ever had. We all want to come back with our families or spouses. Cannot wait to book another one of your special weekend events. Brilliant Marketing and details were off the charts. We celebrated milestone birthdays and this did not disappoint

- ephrent2026 (10/5): Great Experience - I had a amazing experience in your hotel. Cleanliness, staff, and the bar and restaurant. I'm definitely recommending anybody that want to have a great stay to come to the Grand Hotel.
- Judy (10/5): -
- H615FKjamess (10/5): Awesome Winter Get Away! - Our room was great, with a great view, the happy hour is second to none (get there early if you want a seat)! And, the staff are friendly. Thanks to Carl for being so attentive.
- 806meriahm (10/5): Perfect hotel for a wedding! - My husband and I got married at The Grand Hotel in October, and we stayed there for the weekend along with our guests. We'd heard from our guests who'd happened to stay there before how beautiful it was. We couldn't agree more! The bridal suite was charming and clean. The event spaces were absolutely beautiful. The staff members were all so kind and excited for us. Highly recommend!
- jalened2023 (6/5): Nicely appointed hotel. Room smelled musty. - Our room was all the way at the end of an outside hallway so it was a bit cumbersome to get in and out. The room was nicely appointed as was the rest of the hotel. Group activities were very nicely hosted. All staff were very friendly. Our room was very musty smelling, definitely some mold issues, but the windows are painted shut so we couldn’t air it out. The Grand had long been a lovely place to get away. I think they might need to do some basic maintenance to get it back to its pristine state.
- stevesF1150IJ (10/5): Great Hotel - The room was very nice and the beef we had for dinner might have been the best I've ever had.
- kathygG9487GI (10/5): Nice getaway hotel - Very clean hotel with all the amenities. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Indoor pool was fun especially for the winter months. When booking let them know you want to be on the side where the indoor pool is otherwise you have to walk outside to get to the pool.
- caramanica2018 (10/5): A1 - This was a comfortable place to stay, we attended an event weekend and they put their best foot forward to welcome everyone. Rooms were comfortable and the view was special in each direction. Nothing however took the place of the staff and their smiles, service, and personalities. Thanks for a great time.
- lynnelO721UW (8/5): Noise level - The stay and accommodations were great. However, the noise level, not so good. First, there was a party with a band on the 5th floor. We were on the 2nd floor and could CLEARLY hear the POUNDING of the bass of the band and the singing until late. It affected my sleep. Also, the walls are paper thin. The couple next door were simply talking until the wee hours of the night and I could hear every word. That also affected my sleep.
Service was good all around, especially in the restaurant. Front desk agents were great.
I would really like the hotel to invest in the wall soaps and shampoos, instead of the travel size plastic bottles....help save the earth.
- susaneM2221QQ (10/5): Grand Hotel of Cape May - The management of the Grand Hotel generously and graciously offered discounted rooms for locals who lost power during the blizzard. We are so grateful for a lovely room and warmth. I recommend this hotel.
- Zalamon (6/5): LOTS of love needed to room before summer prices! - Decided to do a quick little getaway to check out Cape May. Decided on The Grand Hotel since basically oceanfront and decent rate for our room. We booked the ocean view townhouse efficiency suite. The location of the hotel was nice and was a bit away from where more traffic would be in the busy months. But not sure, never been there before. Beach looked nice and large. Enjoyed the town itself.
The downfall was the room. We were told it was an “updated room”, but our room definitely needed lots of love especially before summer where the rates are exorbitantly high. (A week in July around $6k) I know the place is an older hotel, but for us the sound of kids running in the hall was super loud and I could hear the neighbors all the time. So, if you want quiet bring ear plugs or something. But in the summer I guess you expect that with lots of families. We are older with children all grown.
We really enjoyed the food that we had the 2 days we were visiting Cape May. We even went to Wildwood for one night. Definitely a town we will visit again.
- MaureenT965 (8/5): Great romantic weekend to celebrate valentines - Staff was very friendly. Room was nice except I felt when my husband and I went to sleep we rolled towards the middle of the bed. We were disappointed the jacuzzi was not working. We both have bad backs and really look forward to using that. Food was good and bar was great
- Jennifer (8/5): Overall, a wonderful experience and can’t wait to return in the warmer weather! - The ambiance/decorations were beautifully decorated for Valentine’s Day and staff were very kind! The gym upgrade was a nice added feature:) We were disappointed the hot tub was broken during our stay which was a real bummer:(
