The service by Susil at the hotel was top-notch from start to finish. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable. Whether I needed help with directions, recommendations for local attractions, or assistance with my luggage, they were always there to help with a smile. Bed was clean and comfortable. No hot water for the shower and water pressure was poor. Attempted to turn on the AC heater and it would only blow cold air after 30 minutes. There were hairs in the toilet. While the photos were accurate, it was less impressive in person. The bathroom in the lobby was dirty.

However, one of hotel staff took some of our wrong luggages to airport accidently...... Even they apologized for this mistake but the other day we spent 4 hrs in the airport to look for and finally all valuable stuffs were missing and really wasted our time and energy on whole process. This is definitely an awful experience and hope they could pay more attention to avoid same mistake on next customer.

I would recommend this hotel and will use again in the future. Not specific to this hotel, but more the location. Katmandu is a very noisy city and this is the case at night. If you are sensitive to noise be sure to bring ear plugs which will help considerably whether you stay at this hotel or any other.

Its away from the noise, the rooms are very clean, beds have good and comfortable matress, staff is very helpfull and friendly, hot water works very well, TV with foreign news channels, in all, we find it a very good value!

• koldowsky (4/5): You get what you pay for - Great location in Thamel, perfect for trekkers. FIrst time I visited everything felt perfect; nice and clean. But the second time two weeks later my room didn't feel clean and there were bugs in the bed, cockroaches on the floor and small bugs crawling around on the bed blanket. Slept in my sleeping bag. But it's cheap, and the staff is friendly. Guess you get what you pay for, no more no less.

• 292ninaw (10/5): Great location and friendly service - I will definately be returning to the Greatwall again. The service was always friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Wi-fi was reliable and the rooms were clean and very presentable. The laneway which the hotel is on is quieter at night than some of the others due to being further away from some of the music nightclubs which is a great bonus, yet is still central to Thamel and is the perfect location.
• Christopher (4/5): Inappropriate Behavior From Management - I booked this hotel seeing all of the good reviews but this isn't going to be one of those. This was a last minute book as I needed to find a new hotel quickly. The check in was simple, the accommodations average for the price. The two young gentlemen that manned the front desk were amicable. The TV in the room had a US plug in that was not compatible with the wall outlet. Room service did not stop at my room for the three days I was there but that was nothing compared to the highly inappropriate remarks made by the hotel manager. I received messages through the hotel Facebook page saying "I like what I see, are you interested?" This was not the end of it however. Late at night I was called on my room's phone from the front desk by a deep voiced man asking again whether or not I was interested in a visit to my room. "I like very much, interested?" I am disgusted. This is no way to treat customers in a hospitality setting no matter what excuse. Had this room booked for 7 days but I left after the 3rd night due to how creepy the situation was and how uncomfortable I felt. This hotel deserves much better. Location is outstanding and the nearby bars and restaurants are fantastic but the behavior from management left a horrible feeling in my mind.

But although it is a noisy city, you can find your peace in the hotel room. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The room has everything you need. That means including a hot shower every day with is not very common in hotels. The rooms are very clean and will be cleaned if you want to. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who are looking for comfort, good pricing and friendly staffmembers! Thank you for my week in Thamel.

Although it is a noisy city, in the hotel you can enjoy your peace. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. They are always in for a chat with you. Also the room has everything including hot showers everytime! I would recommend this hotel to everyone who are looking for comfort, good pricing and an amazing friendly staff.
