Bob J (10/5): A great base from which to explore Alexandra and surrounds - The facility is an older but has been tastefully renovated and updated and was very comfortable. The kitchen allowed self-catering which we prefer. The second bedroom was a bonus and allowed us to manage our wardrobe easily. The beds were comfortable, the linen and towels were clean and the water was hot. The staff were welcoming and friendly and check-in was easy. Overall, it was a very pleasant and satisfying experience. Nothing comes to mind. Overall, we were very satisfied.

Paul762 (10/5): Fantastic Motel and Super Friendly Owners - I stayed 4 nights here, grateful to the owners for being able to juggle my original 2 night booking to 4 nights. First impressions always go a long way. Reception sealed that impression - very friendly and helpful. The motel is probably an older establishment, but that adds to the character. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The bed was also comfortable, making for a good nights sleep. Located on the main shopping street, everything is only a few minutes walk - right into centre of town, is less than 10 minutes walk. As others have said, right next door to a supermarket, 1 minute walk to a Chinese restaurant and takeaway, plus more restaurants are close by. I will definately use this motel again. Thank you Jo.

felciab2025 (2/5): The worst motel in nz - Stayed here for a night, room looked like the bed had been made but the benches and surfaces hadn't been cleaned, some parts of the walls were dirty. Have stayed in many hotels / motels throughout nz and this was definitely my worst stay, the individual in the office was extremely rude, and I had a very uncomfortable stay, im very certain one of the workers or owners went into my room while I was gone and looked around, even thought the door was locked, things were moved around. I can confidently stay there is no respect for privacy and as a solo female traveler i would recommend to steer clear of this place.

The building is a little dated but the unit I stayed in was nicely renovated and the hosts had thought of everything you may need. Di (8/5): Great location and terrific staff - The Motor Inn is clearly "old", but it is obvious that improvements are being made. We had a beautiful new bathroom which was a delight and the added bonus of lovely toileteries. As there were three of us travelling the extra bedroom was a bonus. Bedspreads are always an issue for me, they really don't enhance the look of the rooms any more. Everything we needed for an overnight stay was there. The property was only a five minute walk to the "CBD". Alexandra is a lovely little town and I would recommend this property without any hesitation. Johanna was very welcoming and made me feel very welcome. Thank you. We were near the walkway to the laundry and there were workers and other travellers who it seemed were up very early and attempting to wake other travellers, it seemed before the sun came up. As we were on holiday and in no hurry, to hear loud voices and knocking on doors so early was annoying, but not the fault of the property.

Ferreira (9/5): Clean, friendly, and peaceful — perfect stopover in Alexandra. - The stay was great — the room was clean, quiet, and well located. The staff were very kind and welcoming. Perfect place to rest after a day on the road. The oven wasn’t working very well, but we still managed to cook our meal.
