- Aishath (10/5): The place was very comfortable and pleasant - We were expecting two beds (one king bed and one single bed); however, the room provided has only one king bed. It may have been my mistake while selecting the room during the booking process.

- Murtaza Mehlum (3/5): Better to avoid - The rooms are not as advertised, the bathrooms are very small, the hotel does not give a welcoming vibe in general. For the same rates there are better hotels available in the area. For some reason my free cancellation booking was turned to a non refundable one

- Yathurjan (8/5): The staff, particularly the reception team, were excellent, but limited flexibility and lack of time to explore impacted - The staff, especially the reception team, were excellent and very welcoming. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to explore much during my visit. The process for time extensions and re-booking was quite rigid, leaving little room for flexibility. It would have been great if the service had shown more consideration for the guests’ needs.

- Profolic (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for a relatively cheap stay in Colombo - The room was what I would expect for the relatively low price of Rs. 8300 including breakfast. The air-conditioning was good. There was not too much noise considering the city location. The Maldivian breakfast was excellent.
- premkumar (10/5): Nice really good service - Really nice service and good support
- Murthaza (6/5): - Conveniently located rooms are small and bit run down since they where closed for so long with COVID, survived it with no major issues
- Reese (8/5): Not the prettiest place but comfortable! - I read the reviews so I knew what I was getting. Small room but cozy and the staff was very nice. Room service was great and the TV actually worked (a rarity in my experience in Sri Lanka)
- Teresa (4/5): Don't go there - When we arrived the reception area smelt damp as if the hotel had not been opened for a long time. The first room we were shown stank of cigarette smoke and the carpet was dirty as if not hovered in ages. They sprayed with airfreshner but it did not help. The second room was small with double bed pushed against one wall. Unfortunately a new building has been set up next door. I'm sure if I opened the bedroom window I would have been able to touch the next wall.
The restaurant and swimming pool are in the sister hotel the Pearl Grand next door. We asked to move our booking there but the manager next door was not helpful.
We left within an hour of checking in. At least the manager of Pearl City was polite and offered to pay our taxi to our new hotel.
Even as a cheap hotel it is not clean to stay here and the staff not helpful.
- AEJAZ (6/5): - It’s good but Hotel cleaness should be more better
- Sunil Karara (4/5): Never to go again - Very bad experience no exhaust very bad smell and lot of insects in room
- Verified traveler (8/5): Family Shopping - We booked 2 rooms for our family. Room was ok but wifi is not working at all. All other things were just fine. The great advantage of staying in the hotel is can use their Pearl Grand freely.
- rajesj (6/5): - It is good hotel but the bathroom is very narrow and conjusted - hard to get in!
- Girish (8/5): - We stayed there for sleep hence not much about it but it a nicely situated hotel.
- Aboo (10/5): Nice place to stay - Excellent staffs, great customer service, food was amazing
- Nina (8/5): - It was a good stay
- Scott (8/5): Had to word it correctly to show my honesty - Great hotel just in and Effing poo of a country
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I enjoyed the breakfast and recommendations from the staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff are super friendly and helpful.
- Colin (8/5): Central Hotel close to shops. BUT - I was thrilled with this hotel UNTIL the last 3 minutes I spent in it.
Considering that I had spent $1000 (154020LKR) over a 14 day period for my own and my son's accommodation and then an additional 22573LKR for his wife ,mother, sister and nephew to stay over 2 nights, I was appalled at the reaction to the fact I had used a can of Pepsi from the fridge in the room and replaced it with a larger bottle of Coca Cola.
The duty manager demanded I pay 275lkr for an item that retailed at 75lkr. I told him he should be ashamed of himself but the look on his face told me he could not care less. I reluctantly paid and told him that despite having said prior to this incident I would return and also recommend the hotel, I retracted those remarks quite forcefully
- Michael (8/5): Good place - Whilst this hotel is not the prettiest I have stayed in it is well located and the staff were extremely helpful. I had a bad first night because of building next door but the staff talked to the builders and I then got four good nights sleep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Shopping Trip - I have stayed in 4 days and all the staffs are very friendly. So far any problems comes, they have arrange the alternative way and the hotel area was always so clean.
- darryl (2/5): not nice hotel - Pearl city hotel from the moment i booked in was not a nice experience. Upon my arrival took them over 3 hrs & 3 different i.t. guys to get internet to work then during my 2 day stay i would have to reconnect internet every 10 mins even when internet worked it was that slow it was basically useless. Then i found out u cannot even make a cup of coffee in room. No electric jug no coffee no tea. the room was absolutely filthy & stank like someone had urinated in the corner of littlest motel room i have ever stayed in. Strongly recommend other travelers to give a wide berth, there are a lot nicer,,cheaper, bigger motels than pearl city in colombo.
