• Catherine (10/5): Great stay in Melrose - Gorgeous small boutique hotel in Melrose. Felt very safe and a short uber drive to Rosebank mall. Great Greek restaurant nearby which the owner will drive you home after your meal. Henry the hotels driver is great and a good guide for Johannesburg. Sue and her wonderful staff were lovely and a pleasure to spend time with. Room lovely and big and great breakfasts.

• Don (7/5): It was a place to stay, served a purpose. - Location Tired rooms Cleaners didn’t clean toilet after last guest and didn’t empty bar fridge of the last guests food.

• Zaaid (7/5): I only stayed for one night and it was great besides not having hot water. Maybe they would sort it? - The rooms were clean and a decent size. The bed was comfortable and had a lovely lounge. We arrived in the evening but the security guard was friendly and walked us to a great restaurant down the street. The biggest issue was that I didn't have hot water. Since I only stayed for one night and took a shower in the morning prior to checking out, I was unable to request that they address the issue. My colleague who stayed in the room above me had the same problem. My other colleagues who stayed in the building next to us did not.

• Donovan (8/5): A comfortable stay in a boutique guest house, in a peaceful area. - Check in was prompt and efficient, Room is spacious and well laid out. Bed is large and comfortable, and the unit we had which was furthest away from reception was very quiet and peaceful. Room TV has various services available. Host Sue is very friendly and accommodating. Area is great for accessing Sandton, Melrose and surrounds. Breakfast felt limited, no cappuccino on offer, and a single small omelette was served. Coincidentally we where given the last cheese, so nothing available for toast, but Sue was very helpful. There also happened to be construction which was not indicated beforehand on booking.com. It didnt really disturb, but i still would have liked to be aware.

• Sean (10/5): Enjoyable and memorable - I loved the swimming pool, and the general ambience of the place. It;'s within safe walking distance to the Rosebank Mall, which is well worth a visit, and there are lots of amenities nearby too. A perfect location overall. I have no problems with the place

Ich habe mich von Anfang an zu Hause gefühlt, was bei einer sehr vollen Geschäftswoche sehr hilfreich war. Das Hotel ist ruhig, schön eingerichtet mit einem wunderbaren Garten.

• Pele (10/5): Delightful boutique stay - I had the most delightful stay, the staff made me feel so welcome and cared for. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the location was perfect for our conference just down the road at The Wanderers Club. The gardens were stunning and felt like a total retreat from the bustle of the city. Would 100% recommend to any other travellers.

It was really cold (but that is the JHB winter). It is an older but charming building with glass doors, so it is tough to keep the room warm (it must be lovely in Summer). They do provide gas heaters in the rooms, but the one in my room kept switching off on it's own. They also provide enough blankets though. The hot water pressure was low and kept dropping lower while showering. They don't provide a box or pack of tissues in the rooms.

• Emily (8/5): We were made to feel very welcome and heaters were rustled up to help with the cold. Everyone was he - The location was excellent. The breakfast was fine but not ideal for some dietary quirks. We loved the decor - very English country home. But the property is so cold despite the heaters liberally available. It just needs thin trees trimmed to let in more light. More natural light into the rooms.

No fancy formalities, just a lovely greeting from Sue and the Staff. Had a rather early morning departure to the Airport - breakfast was available - thank you We will be back

• Mabuza (10/5): Clean, Super convenient location and peaceful - We had a great stay! The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable couch, cushions, a fan, and both a shower and a bath. There’s beautiful greenery outside, which does attract a few flying bugs, but nothing major — plus, there was Doom provided in the room just in case. Breakfast was delicious, and various options were offered on the table. The pool was big and perfect for relaxing, and the location is great — not far from Melrose Arch or Rosebank, making it super convenient. Definitely a peaceful and enjoyable spot!
