Guest Reviews
- David (8/5): In the heart of Hawley. - The room was small but the hotel was nostalgic. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating but we would have loved to have breakfast at the hotel but it was not an option. Otherwise, our stay in the heart of Hawley was nice.
- Valarie (10/5): - Loved the property, the staff, location! Perfect stay!
- Gail (10/5): - Historic old hotel on Main Street Pa. Great restaurant on first floor , the Ridge, be sure to try it (reservations suggested.)
The staff here is amazing, you will feel welcomed and appreciated. The rooms have everything you will need. This is my second stay for the nearby Wildflower concert and I would stay again.
- Jeffery (8/5): - Loved the building! Felt like staying at a B&B. The restaurant “The Ridge” has great food. We had no issues the staff was accommodating very professional. The Hotel was very quiet.
- Regina (10/5): - What a wonderful time we had it was a girls getaway weekend! From the very beginning when we got there, they helped us with our bags to our room! The rooms were nice and cool. It was a hot day. The water pressure is great in the showers the beds were comfortable And to top it off. We had the most wonderful dinner right on the promises! Highly recommend it was wonderful! We were hoping to do a late checkout, and there was no problem! Very accommodating they are to us! We will definitely go back in the near future this place if we highly recommend it has a lot of charm to it!
- Thomas (10/5): - Wonderful property right in downtown Hawley. Conveniently located in town. Fantastic staff. Would definitely stay again.
- Frederick J (10/5): - Historical building. Great staff. Clean.
Been going there for 3 years now and plan to return next month.
- BB (6/5): - It's a very nice building, however, extremely challenging physically (hip replacement and lower back pain issues), not having an elevator and no Wifi.
Restaurant/food was AMAZING. Twelve out of 10 rating. Loved the singing bartenders on Friday night. That was new to me.
Also, all metered street parking was not good, but we worked it out. There should be designated no fuss parking for hotel guests.
- frank (10/5): - Great stay staff was amazing room was clean and comfortable.
- Kris (10/5): - Charming and accessible to surrounding area.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Delightful stay.
- Eric (10/5): - The hotel Belvedere was historically impressive. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained for the hotel being built in 1902. Rooms and hallway smelled nice with no hint of mildew. The only drawback I could even think of is the fact that our room had two full sized beds when it could easily fit two queen size beds. Would definitely stay there again for the price. It was a third of the price of other hotels in the area.
- Lawrence (10/5): - Had another great time with the Ridge family. Food and atmosphere are top shelf, and everyone is treated as if you're a long lost best friend. Room was clean and quiet. Can't say enough positive about this establishment!
- Christoph (10/5): - Great restaurant and bar. Family operated and a great family at that. Friday night is special, the brother and sister singers truly have talent.
- Thomas J. (10/5): - The staff was amazing on every level. Couldn't have asked for better Italian food. Made the trip most pleasurable.
- Mary (10/5): - Cute boutique hotel. Great bar and restaurant downstairs. Would definitely stay again if I am in the area.
- Evangelos (10/5): - I loved everything about this place. The family is so nice and kind. They staff was very helpful and generous. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and cozy also really clean and festive for the holiday's the music was at a perfect volume were you can talk and have a conversation without yelling i mean this place was just perfect everything was thought out great. And to top it off the food was extraordinary first class we had the steak and risotto off the specials and it was one of the best dishes we had. Plus the room have great character when it was originally built love the vibe beds were comfortable and clean i mean i really cant believe how lucky we were to find this place i will def be coming back!!!!!
- Jasmine (10/5): - Very clean and friendly
- Lawrence (10/5): - As always, a great stay! Feel like family every visit.
- Don (8/5): - Easy, clean, friendly great food and drinks!!!
- Richard (8/5): - Excellent, friendly staff; good restaurant; only negative is somewhat dated rooms. Overall a good option for a room in the Hawley area.
- Hans (4/5): - It's not a hotel as its name would suggest. It is rental rooms with almost no amenities and no hotel-like services. We had Room 1- absolutely no WiFi. The steep stairs to the 2nd floor are highly unsafe for people of my age group. The blinds on windows were inoperable and one of the window sashes did not close all the way. The shower-in-tub on a pedestal was again highly unsafe for people my age. In addition the enclosure opened only on the wrong side, rather the stationary panel should be the sliding panel.
No complaints about cleanliness of the room!
- Kacee (10/5): - Old historic building with very comfortable modern rooms. Quaint shops all within walking distance. All the locals were super friendly. Wonderful place to stay if youre looking for a quiet getaway
- Gail (10/5): - Great Vibes
Built in the early 1900’s, shows a lot of love. Staff feels like family. Restaurant is homey, filled with locals, food is homemade and quite good.
I’d recommend it and would book again when in the area.
- Frederick J (10/5): - This is my second stay at the Belvidere and it sure doesn't disappoint. Great staff. Nice room. Beautiful building. Ridge restaurant great!!
Had a great time again and will return for sure!!!
Thank you for everything!!
- Kristen (10/5): Charming! - A cute and comfortable stay! My room was very cozy! Check in and check out was a breeze. Located in a very walkable area for food and coffee. Truly enjoyed my stay.
- mark (10/5): - The Rositto family and staff are fantastic. Real family atmosphere very accommodating. Awesome
- Jodi (10/5): Winterfest 2023 - Amazing. Came to Hawley for winterfest and this was the perfect hotel. Lovely, quaint, fantastic staff and restaurant. Old world charm isnt for everyone, but we live it!!!!
- Frederick J (10/5): - Great place with a lot of history. Very cordial and courteous staff. Great restaurant. Clean room. No complaints.
Will definitely be returning!!!
- Diane (6/5): - The only thing I was disappointed in was the mattress was terrible. It sagged in the middle so two people fell in the middle of the mattress and was hard to get out of the bed. And we aren’t old it was in room 8. My cousin was there in April and said the same thing about that room. Shower was a little tight and I am not a big girl
- Sherrie (10/5): - We stayed at the hotel for two nights. It was clean and extremely convenient. We ate both nights in the restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. A beautiful family owned establishment. Everything was perfect and we can't wait to return.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay in town, just wished we had better weather. Hotel had a great restaurant and bar, old school charm. Close to antique stores.
- EDYTA (10/5): - Amazing place very warm and cozy definitely I’ll be staying there again.
- patrick (8/5): - We very much liked the property and the location and staff. Very convenient to Main Ave , bar and restaurant is nice. This place just needs to replace the carpet in the rooms and hallways and paint the hallway a brighter color. The carpets are very dirty and unfortunately are a turn off.
- Philip (10/5): - Historic hotel that has been nicely remodelled.
- Margo (8/5): - Staff was pleasant and the room was quiet. Plenty of ice available, too!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location! An old hotel right in town with spacious rooms and bathroom.
- Oswaldo (10/5): - Great hotel, the room was super clean and with all the right things we needed, the restaurant was delicious and overall staff was very friendly and responsive, thanks so much, we will come back for sure!!
- Jeff (10/5): - Nice property in rustic area. Close to big bear for skiing. Friendly staff.
- Joanne (10/5): - Old world charm. Staff was attentive and friendly. Clean, great location, The Ridge Restaurant located in the hotel was excellent.
- Lawrence (10/5): - Another great visit at the Hotel Belvidere. Staff was great, room was immaculate, and you can't beat having a world class Italian restaurant 20 steps below! We always feel at home with the Ridge family, who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and part of the family. Will be back again, hopefully soon!
- Sara (10/5): - Friendly, professional staff who make you genuinely feel like family. Also, I highly recommend making reservations to dine at their restaurant, The Ledge. It is truly a dining experience you do not want to miss!
Upon check-in, be sure to inquire with staff re: parking. There is metered parking certain days/times but they will gladly direct you to where nearby free parking is.
- Ashley (6/5): - Only hotel in Hawley. Great old charm. Room got changed the day after being able to cancel with no compensation. During dinner hours there was a constant seafood smell so pretty unpleasant. Got woken up every night either from the trash truck or glass bottles being dumped out. Bartender could care less as we sat at the bar. Everyone was pleasant, especially in the shops and around town, but that was it.
- Teresa (10/5): Hotel Belvidere - Extremely clean hotel in a historic building in downtown Hawley, PA. Within easy walking distance to many local shops, including several antique shops. The building is beautiful, inside and out. We didn't eat at The Ridge, however, we are friends with locals who enjoy eating there. We will be going back, for sure!
- Matthew (10/5): - Pleasant staff (though checking in was a bit confusing and had to wait a bit, had to ask the restaurant staff to find someone to check me in). The room was comfortable and charming. The bed was SUPER comfortable. The hotel is very old with lots of history, so it has its creaks and wear and tear, which I found charming. Other reviews have complained about certain things that you’re just going to get in an older building. Go to the Ritz if you don’t want old building character. Overall, a pleasant stay.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - I was concerned about the parking but we found a spot right outside the entire weekend. The staff was SOOOO nice!! They helped us get seats at the restaurant each time-The Ridge- which the food is amazing! The room was huge and clean. Really smart to put keurig on same floor as the rooms. Why hasn't any other hotel thought of that? My only recommendation would to put darkening curtains in the room because the street lights keep the room bright throughout the night. But overall, we would definitely stay again.
- Olena (10/5): - Very pleasant experience!
Everything went smooth and easy. My father and brother enjoyed the stay. Thank you again for hospitality! Highly recommend!
- Don (10/5): - The staff was great ! Beth and her daughter know what to do when have a question. Great restaurant
- Edward (10/5): - Our third stay here. Won’t be our last!
- Joan (10/5): - The hotel was perfect for our needs.
- RUTH (8/5): - I like the clean rooms and the friendly staff.
I being older now did not like the steep stairway.
But if you have no trouble with steps this place is right for
you.
Very good location to everything.
- Maria Fernanda (6/5): - Mostly didn’t like the experience. Old building, few amenities, small room, can hear other rooms easily, no blinds to block sun.
The coffee machine available in the corridor seemed like it didn’t get cleaned for a while.
I felt uncomfortable when realized masks were optional as I got there. No staff was wearing masks at any time.
I would not recommend staying there if you have any other option.
- Cindy (10/5): Cindy - The hotel is small cozy & quaint. Lots of old charm. The mother/daughter staff/owners were great-very friendly & so nice. We will definitely stay here again.
- James (10/5): - Hotel Belvidere is a lovely small hotel. Unique in that you take a beautiful long staircase to your room. Friendly service! There is an excellent Italian restaurant right on premises. Our room was wonderful. Would stay here again for sure.
- Aubrey (10/5): - I stay at Hotel Belvedere every time I come to Hawley for a half-marathon. This was my third stay. I love that it is a historic, charming building, is family-run, and has an excellent Italian restaurant that rivals any fine dining establishment in Manhattan. The bar is also nice with a good selection and fun specials. A great added touch is that you can have drinks and meals at the cute little table set up in the hotel room. I'll be back next year!
- Kelly (8/5): - I like that I work nights and since the restaurant doesn’t open until the afternoon I get to sleep :) the staff at check in, out and in between are always so pleasant and friendly.
- Richard (10/5): - Nice Historic Hotel with an absolutely phenomenal Restaurant! And staff... :-)
- Laura (10/5): - Beautifully appointed rooms.
- Karen (10/5): - Friendly staff and comfortable room.
- Lawrence (10/5): - Another great visit to the Hotel Belvidere and the Ridge restaurant. The family is always so welcoming, and the little extras they come up with make every visit special. Can't wait to return!
- Courtney (8/5): - The staff was great. The restaurant was delicious. The bed was comfortable. A great weekend getaway!
- Sean (10/5): - Great in town location with a fabulous restaurant and staff.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - The Hotel was very quanit. It is an old building which made it very interesting as far as history. I would have liked an elevator only due to my husbands issue with MS. There also were no handicap parking spaces and you had to pay a meter. Overall the Hotel was very nice and the staff was great. They were always there to help.
- Jenny (4/5): - I wanted to love this place as soon as we walked in. It was very charming and the staff provided excellent service. Unfortunately, as soon as we laid down to sleep it was a very disappointing experience. The bed was so old/uncomfortable and had me and my partner sinking into it and each other in the middle. It was really bad. It offered zero support. The mattress also was plastic covered and made squishing sounds when you moved. The linens also easily slipped off due to this. I would very much return if I was assured beds had been replaced, it really was that great otherwise. The restaurant was a a very nice experience and delicious, highly recommend.
- Laurie (6/5): Many concerns please read before booking ..... - Hopefully this review will help the rest of you...pros staff were polite/nice bed was comfy. Cons meter parking only mold & mildew around window that sits at table were you can eat. Nothing keeps light from entering your room all night long. Windows sit ontop of road in our room #7 so the noise level is absolutely atrocious. Could not sleep almost at all do to both. Bed thank goodness was comfy. Worst part was second night we went to a wedding came back & found our toilet would not flush. Not clogged. Being handy i immediately took off back toilet tank cover & found ZERO WATER ! ALL NIGHT no flushable toilet so had to go up and down steep very old creaky steps to use public restroom. Drains in shower and bathroom sink in our room were slow as well. I asked owner for 1 night stay back and she agreed although has not shown up on my card yet. No elevator so make sure you can go up steps numerous times. Bathroom was tiny, shower was clean but extremely tiny as in you couldn't bend down without hitting your butt on back of shower wall. If none of this is an issue then please book this hotel. If it is choose elsewhere. The Ledges have beautiful rooms but they were just to expensive for us. This room cost $159.00 per night and included absolutely nothing which seems pricey for what you get. I tell it like it is folks.....
- General (10/5): Small Town Gem - Amazing place. We felt like family from check in to check out. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was immaculate, spacious and comfortable. Dinner at The Ridge is a MUST - don't hesitate to make your reservation! Walking distance to many shops and eateries. 5-10 min drive to great hikes and more shops/eateries/breweries. 10/10 cannt wait to return.
- Franz (8/5): quaint stay - Great owners and staff, Very friendly and attentive. Immaculate.
- Amanda (10/5): - Great staff, very independent and easy way to check-in and out.
- Diana (8/5): - We had a great weekend!
- Henry (10/5): - Great family run hotel and restaurant. They were extremely friendly and professional, and the food was amazing!
- Bruce (10/5): - Really enjoyed the time we spent there. We would stay again when back in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel was a perfect location. The staff was amazing in accommodating me for a last minute trip.
- Rickie (4/5): Sadly disappointed - The check in was just someone from the restaurant handing us a key. The fitted sheet was worn out and would not stay on the bed. There was a commercial blower outside the room that rumbled and rattled 24/7. Then the kitchen staff for the restaurant played loud music until late in the night, and started again at 7am. You have to go out to the hallway to get coffee at the Keurig, and they only had decaf. When you walked out the front door, there was a window air conditioner dripping water on you. The parking was on the street which had old fashioned coin meters that had to be fed every hour.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the history of the building and the restaurant downstairs was amazing!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The fact that there is no parking was a little inconvenient meter parking was fairly cheap but it became costly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our stay with the Belvidere was memorable as always. Beth and the Ridge family took care of an A/C glitch by moving us to another room, and we were able to continue to enjoy our stay as always. We usually visit in the fall and winter, but the summer offered a different look at Hawley region. What could have been a disappointing stay turned out to be great. Can't say enough positive about our Ridge family! We'll be back again!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): July 4th Weekend - The service was excellent. We had a meal at their restaurant which was great. The hotel is very charming, old fashioned with lots of historical touches. It is in the center of town which is very convenient and you can walk around very easily. There were 2 issues: carpet in the room was dirty and we did not want to walk in our bare feet and the bed was not very comfortable. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved the location and antique flair of the place! The rooms were really nice! The only issue was no WiFi in the room. We really enjoyed the stay
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Building is fantastic, historic old town hotel. Room is nothing fancy, bathroom floor tiles loose with missing grout. No one around except during dinner hours. No breakfast or lunch offerings. $346.00 for two nights for a king bed, tv, dated sink, toilet, dated stand up shower, mini fridge, free coffee, NO bottled water.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Old, old hotel. Pretty room. Bathroom really nice. On top of fridge were two glasses and two wine glasses wrapped in paper, not plastic cups.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was very nice. Great service. Great food in their restaurant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Older building with charm. Very comfortable room and quiet. Hotel staff was personable and engaging. I enjoyed my stay and will likely return.
- Gregg (10/5): - The owners and staff are great people, very friendly. The food is amazing at the Ridge restaurant. Room was very comfortable. Loved the fireplace.
- UncleMac (10/5): - Always treated like family here! Will be back again and again.
- Steven (8/5): - We had a room that bordered the main street of Hawley. We couldn't sleep because of the traffic including trucks. Next time I will request a quieter room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location downtown. The restaurant at the hotel was fantastic!
- Pamela (6/5): Disappointing - Overall the room was comfortable and appeared clean. However, I paid for a premium room with a fireplace that didn't work. I was very disappointed and wouldn't have wasted my money.
- HotelBevidere (10/5): - We liked very thing. the staff was wonderful, along with the location of the town.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great place and convenient to local amenities in and around the town!
- PF (8/5): - The hotel was clean and comfortable. The location is convenient for those wanting to explore Lake Wallenpaupack.
Our room faced Main Ave so it was a bit noisy at night. No room darkening shades
- Diogenes (6/5): - In the morning the room is very clear, could not continue to rest, does not have parking.
- raymond (2/5): never again - The only Good Thing Was Very Clean. No cups in room I felt Like I was putting The Manager out When I Asked When we went out that evening the 2 cups were on the microwave in front of the stairs (our room was around the corner down the hall ) I asked for Towels she seemed annoyed and sent them to our room a few hours later. We reserved two nights the TV was on a scrambler of some sort the day we arrived and the day we were to check out we only had QVC not to mention the bed was in the middle of the wall, the wall mount TV was in the corner facing the wall next to us with no tilt. They had one tiny chair and I was there with my husband. When we came back from dinner and when we wanted to check out no one was there.Everything was locked up.I never saw a single guest while we were there. It was a creepy feeling being there alone. If you are elderly or have problems climbing stairs this is not the place for you. The stairs ave very wide ,steep and creeky (stairs have L brackets on step and wall ,that was very concerning) You didn't want to use the banister because it was sticky the hallways are dark until you walk a few steps -very dimly lit What a disappointment don't let their name fool you this is a Hotel like no other
- Valerie (10/5): Quaint hotel - This hotel is very quaint. Our room eas very clean and very spacious. We wil definitely be staying here again!!
- Celine (8/5): - The owners and staff were very friendly. The restaurant was amazing. We enjoyed our stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was perfectly clean and the bed was comfortable.
HOWEVER, I had searched on Expedia for an accessible hotel, as I have bad knees (to the point I have a handicap placard). This hotel has on street parking only and a VERY steep flight of stairs as the only means of accessing the sleeping rooms. It should never have come up in the search!!
The hotel manager was very nice and helped me as much as she could. My issue is not with her or the hotel - it is with Expedia!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Hotel was a nice place to stay on a brief trip. We appreciated seeing other guests' comments about the parking, lack of front desk, and hours of operations.
We ate at the restaurant the first night, which was above average. The free breakfast at the diner was what you'd expect at a small town diner.
The staff was kind and welcoming, but the hotel was just ok. The room was clean. The shower was hot. The bed was ok. We're glad this hotel was an option in town, even though it was a bit pricey.
- Dan (10/5): - AMAZING service. Nice room. Great restaurant underneath. We were pleasantly surprised.
- Joe (8/5): - Staff, especially Beth, were wonderful. Took care of us including restaurant reservations when restaurant was booked. Nick was a great waiter although he did not do it regularly. Small bathroom but tastefully decorated. Overall, a solid 4 stars. By the way, restaurant was fabulous (5 star).
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Old hotel with pretty modern amenities. Great restaurant downstairs. Warning -- all rooms are on the second floor and the access is a steep staircase.
- Cheryl (6/5): - The people wew amazing. The bed was awful. We had to put the ironingboard under the mattress just so my hisband could have minimal support. Without it we both rolled to the divit in the middle of the bed. Its an old hotel so so thi9are accessible but not a poor mattress.
