Guest Reviews
- Lavern (9/5): - Staff was accommodating and friendly. No elevators
- Karen (8/5): Very nice accommodations in an area that has very few other options - Clean, comfortable, inexpensive
- Darren (9/5): - Friendly and helpful staff. Didn't like that they did not have an elevator.
- Tielbur (8/5): Overall, pleased with our stay and the value. - Clean. Friendly staff. Located close to many amenities in the area. The free breakfast was lacking in hot choices. All the bread products ( bread, bagels, English muffins) were stale and hard every morning we were there.
- Mary (8/5): Good - Great breakfast Never did get my receipt they said they’d email
- Tim (9/5): -
- Sherrie (9/5): -
- Trina (9/5): -
- Janine (8/5): An unexpected pleasant stay. - The beautiful lounge & fireplace area was a nice option to sit and have coffee while I read. Unfortunately this hotel was a half hour from my daughter’s home but when other nearby hotels were full Algona was not offered. I found Brookstone on my own based on its good ratings & same distance as some others. A nice alternative to come back to each night of our stay.
- Rebecca (9/5): Hotel is Great! W. IA’s manure🤢 - The hotel, beds, pillows & staff were all great. The entire town, including outside the hotel, smelled like livestock manure. It’s getting very difficult to find any western Iowa town that doesn’t smell like manure. This can’t be healthy for anyone.
- Joe (8/5): -
- Victoria (10/5): - Several families home for family event. Everyone was helpful, polite and helpful.
- Jorge (8/5): - Es muy cómodo
- Dnep56 (8/5): -
- CRISTO (10/5): - Clean and quite
- Leanne (8/5): - It was a very nice room and it was clean. My only complaint is the walls and floor are thin. I was able to hear people in an attached room.
- Lucinda (8/5): - Comfy bed, good breakfast, helpful staff.
- Elaine (10/5): - Very quiet place:
- Sara (8/5): - Breakfast was minimal for hot food. Sat am was egg, potatoes, peppers, and sausage scrambled and sausage patties and sunday was eggs and sausage...thankfully there is a microwave there because it was lukewarm.
- Jean (10/5): -
- MEAGAN (10/5): - Nice property
- Javier (10/5): - Good people, and clean room.
- Kathy (10/5): - Looks to be a new hotel. The lobby was beautiful and exceptionally clean. Every staff member was helpful and respectful. The room itself was attractive and very clean. Great stay.
- Lisa (10/5): - All was good except the lack of an elevator. We are not handicapped, but large, heavy suitcases are difficult to take up the stairs. Otherwise a very nice stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice and quiet - Visiting family - it was nice, quiet, the front desk staff was so engaging. The manager was very attentive even though it was her first day.
- Nancy (8/5): - The Brookstone Lodge and Suites was very nice and quiet. We thought it strange that there wasn’t an elevator to the 2nd floor and the room didn’t smell as fresh as it could have been. The breakfast was good and overall it’s a nice place to stay when visiting the Algona area.
- Scott (10/5): - Our room was very comfortable. The desk staff was very friendly.
- Hanson (10/5): My Brookstone relaxing stay - I was there cause I was the judge for the 4-h dog show. Everything was great. I had phone issues and the lady behind the counter was very helpful. She even loaned me her plug-in so I could charge my phone cause I forgot mine. There wasn't anything I didn't like
- Kevin (10/5): - Quality hotel at a reasonable price.
- Mary (10/5): -
- Mary (10/5): - Just a quick overnight but great!
- Victor (8/5): -
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (10/5): - Great place , good value
- Tony (5/5): Not sure i would continue to stay at this hotel going forward. - Room was not serviced 2nd day, and when i went to the desk to ask about it, i was told that I must have had my do not disturb sign out. I did have it out, removed it and left walking right past and greeted the housekeeping lady. I would have thought she would have noted that we left and cleaned the room. In addition, I asked for more towels since we had none, and was asked to bring the dirty towels back to the front desk. The outside landscaping is full of weeds and looks very unkempt. First impressions are important and that is not a good look. Bed bug truck in the parking lot was a bit concerning.
- Dawn C (8/5): - It is always a plus when breakfast is provided. We were happy to know it was available from 6:30 -10 on Saturday morning. However, when we arrived for breakfast at 8:15, none of the hot food was left. The serving covered tray remained empty and no attendant showed up at all to assist guests. I was going to mention it when checking out but the staff person never asked about how our stay went and if everything was to our satisfaction. I decided she was not the person to tell and she may have also been the person in charge of breakfast. All the same, there was cereal, bagels and English muffins plus cereal, etc. My point is that Brookstone may want to advertise this amenity as a cold breakfast so it does not create unreasonable expectations. Otherwise the premises, rooms and eveything else was very nice. That may have added to the disappoinment at breakfast.
- Gerry (8/5): We went to the Grotto and decided not to drive back in the same day. We would definitely stay here again! - Very convenient! Very clean, comfortable and staff was the best!
- Dnep56 (8/5): Very good -
- Sheryl (10/5): Great Personnel, Clean, and Fruit! - We stay here whenever we visit family and always appreciate the cleanliness and quiet of Brookstone. The manager and other personnel were super friendly and even had an air pump for our balloons and a box of nice toys for our nieces' kids to play with!! We appreciate the fruit at breakfast, though the menu did not vary the entire 4 days we were there:-) All in all, a very nice stay!
- Robin (10/5): - Nice and clean, comfortable beds. Good continental breakfast.
- Adrienne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trenton (10/5): - Everything was great and what you expect for the price. Way better than the american inn by wyndam in town.
- Miller (10/5): Great experience. Will stay there again. - Great None
- Dawn (10/5): - Everything was really nice and clean. With the exception of the base of the toilet. There was dried up poo. Not a lot and it was hard to see. I told the house keeper. She told me that she would clean it after we left the room. When we got back she had not cleaned it. My husband cleaned it up. I didn't tell anybody. Everything else was great!
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cynthia (10/5): We will return. - Our stay was very quiet and comfortable. Room basic paper products were in short supply but available upon request from the front desk personnel. I did suffer a fall in the shower due to no obvious rubber mat being available.
- Adrienne (9/5): Quiet & relaxing, but look down when going to bed. - Quiet & comfortable The metal piece on the side of the bed sticking out that I cut my leg on. :(
- Felice (10/5): - Excellent front desk staff! Hotel was welcoming and comfortable! Wonderful stay, thank you!
- Randall (6/5): - No elevator so not likely to stay there again.
- Adrian (9/5): Superb -
- Bruce (10/5): - Very clean. Felt relatively new. Friendly staff.
- Mark (10/5): - I have stayed here quite a few times over the past 5 years while visiting family and doing local business. Consistently this property has been a good place to stay. The rooms have always been very clean, tv options are extensive, breakfast is ok, and staff responsive to any requests I have had.
- Marissa (8/5): Very good - Quiet, clean, and comfortable. Nothing.
- Troy (10/5): - We had made a booking error and Christin bent over backwards helping us. The hotel is also nice and clean.
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - We absolutely enjoyed our stay. Better breakfast options and to make sure the eggs are hot and not over cooked.
- Janet (8/5): - No elevator. Many little things wrong but, they fixed them. Very quiet and the bed was comfortable.
- tom (8/5): - Nice Hotel.
- Schiltz (8/5): Very good -
- Casey (10/5): Great Stay - Very clean. Everyone very friendly and professional.
- Emily (6/5): - This might be the nicest hotel in Algona, but it is average when competing with hotels across the country. There is no pool and no gym if you’re looking for amenities.
- Nicole L (10/5): - Very clean & quiet hotel. Would definitely recommend if staying in the area.
- Jean (10/5): - Easy check in, comfortable beds, very clean and updated. Warm breakfast was good.
- Victoria (10/5): - Very clean, friendly staff
- W.Dennis (10/5): - I like the property but the breakfast was a little weak.
- Sarah (10/5): - The stay was nice
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Enjoyed the stay.
- Anne (10/5): - Staff was very helpful and friendly. Location was good for our travels.
- Lynda (9/5): Superb -
- Terri (10/5): Great Stay! - What an awesome hotel! Clean, quiet, comfortable. Kudos to a great staff, too.
- Steven (6/5): - Room was nice and clean. The breakfast needed help pancake maker need the bag changed work told us it was broke but then later came and changed it. No eggs or breakfast meat was available ( just not made). Pastrys were also out. Had to go out for breakfast instead
- Brent (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (10/5): - I was there for 1 night and pretty much liked everything at this hotel. It was clean, comfortable with a nice breakfast at a good price. Christina was very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.
- CYNTHIA (10/5): - Everything was clean!
- Phyllis (9/5): Superb - The breakfast had a good variety of food choices. I had pancakes and my husband had an egg taco. They had fresh fruit and yogurt which the last 2 hotels did not have available.
- ronald (10/5): - Other than being 45 miles north of Fort Dodge, all around a very nice hotel. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.
Heads up for those with pets. NO PETS Allowed.
- rogermO3341QO (8/5): Probably the best hotel in Algona. - I would certainly recommend this hotel. The rooms were pleasant, and the staff was very nice. Breakfast was a little skimpy, but definitely not a deal breaker. The only downside...it can be a little tricky to get in to. You have to take the entry to Fareway.
- Shawn (10/5): - Very nice and the price was right!
- Brenda (9/5): Superb - No elevator!! Isn’t this against code?? We’ve traveled all over the country, and this is the only hotel that we’ve stayed at without an elevator!! The gal would not change our room to first floor either! Breakfast was quite good. The gal taking care of the breakfast was also cleaning and manning the front desk, all with a smile!! Quite opposite of the gal when we checked in!
- Scott (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (10/5): - Fair priced hotel. Simple breakfast. You always have to wait for someone to come to the desk. Im not sure where they are sitting, but it takes a while.
- John (6/5): - Overall nice hotel. Receptionist of limited assistance and the hotel does not have an elevator or outside patio. Overall, probably one of the best in the area.
- Nick (10/5): - Nice property, still like new. Everything is in very good condition. The complimentary breakfast is better than most hotels.
- Tim (9/5): Stayed here many times and never disappointed, - Comfortable room and very quiet. Hotel was full but noiseless.
- Jean (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, easy parking
- Amy (10/5): Good business trip in NW Iowa - Brookstone Lodge & Suites in Algona Iowa was pleasant, clean, friendly and comfortable! Would recommend it for your next visit!!
Amy
- David (10/5): - Quick check-in, lovely room, nice and quiet
- larry (10/5): - Our room was very clean. Loved having enough space in the bathroom. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our only issue was no elevator having to bring up luggage
- Larry R (10/5): - Cost and the pleasantness of our stay.
- Lon (10/5): - Was very close to r reception. Affordable
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Enjoyed the stay
- Corey (10/5): - Place was clean
- JAN (10/5): - I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS HOTEL. FIRST, HOW ACCOMMODATING AND FRIENDLY THE STAFF WAS. WAS COMING IN LAST MINUTE FOR WEDDING ON TIGHT SCHEDULE. ALLOWED ME VERY EARLY ACCESS TO THE ROOM TO GET READY AND MAKE THE WEDDING. THE ROOM WAS SPACIOUS AND CLEAN AND THE BREAKFAST VERY GOOD! IF I AM EVER IN THE AREA AGAIN, I WILL DEFINITELY STAY THERE. GREAT JOB MICHELLE!!
- Jane (8/5): - The floor of the shower was very slick. A bath mat would be helpful.
- Gerhard (9/5): Superb - nice big room, friendly staff, good breakfast, as an unusual feature, a sidewalk to a nearby grocery store As part of the breakfast buffet there is a pancake maker. I personally think that the usual waffle makers work better than the pancake makers.
- Cecelia (10/5): - Always a good place to stay.
- Mark (9/5): I would stay here again as my first choice in Algona. I have family there so will be back again but sure would wish I co - Rooms are modern and clean. Breakfast is good with scrambled eggs and sausage at the top of the list. The only negative I would say is that they have handicap rooms on the second floor but have no elevator. That just doesn’t make any sense!
I wish they were pet friendly.
- kelly (10/5): - Nice and clean, comfy bed. Would stay again for sure!
- MEGAN (10/5): - Very nice hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
- Jennifer (6/5): - Very basic hotel.
- Jan (5/5): Passable - I was more disappointed in Booking.com for not offering discounts. I have AAA and that was not mentioned.
The motel had a sing saying that it was not a pet friendly place. No pets allowed. The manager was there fielding my questions and she had her dog with her. It wasnot a service dog. I did not encourage the dog but it was riding on the luggage cart that she was pushing, it jumped off and came directly over to me and jumped up on me. I would think that the people who make these signs would also follow them. Or else you allow pets. I did not like all the noise from the refrigerator and the air conditioner. There was no fan in the bathroom.
