• Maria Matilde (8/5): - Good stay, comfortable bed and cooking facilities in the room. Super nice heather. Right in front of a gorgeous beach. For us, it was a bit far away from the centre, but our mistake as we didn't rent a car in Christchurch, should have checked better.
• Annmaree (10/5): Great central location, excellent pricing would stay here again. - Great location and exactly what we needed for a 1 night stop over. The bonus was washing facilities and dryer ( $2) with complimentary washing powder. We had planned on looking for a laundromat after 8 days of travelling the South and this was so appreciated to have this option. Room was very clean and had what we needed.

Walk in shower was great. Photos implied a view over the water from your patio chairs. This was not the case for most rooms.

• Brian (9/5): Very comfortable stay just across the road from the beach ! - It was an old type lodge and that added a little flavour to the stay. Our car broke down on arrival at the lodge so we were a bit stranded being a bit far from shops and restaurants. However this was sorted by the next morning and we were able to reach wherever we needed to go you car quite easily.

• Robyn (8/5): - Great location. Easy access. Good bed. The basics were clean but a few areas could be better. For example: Kitchen blind greasy, bathroom window had mold and bathroom sink had dirt/mold encrusted around basin overflow outlet. Also door to bathroom area was very difficult to move.

• Michelle (9/5): Nice apartment in a stunning area - The area is stunning.... the room was a bit dated but we expected that The area was quiet and a few minutes walk to the bars etc

• Phillip (5/5): Needs some TLC. - Proximity. Close to village. Beds were comfortable. The motel.is now quite dated and somewhat jaded. The owners need to spend money upgrading and refurbishing. The room with 2 single beds was tiny, leaving no room at all for luggage. The kitchen area had one power point for multiple appliances. The dining area was cramped. The microwave was on top of a high fridge, posing a safety hazard. The laundry room was filthy and looked like it had not been cleaned for years.

• Peter (9/5): A quiet motel with a comfortable bed in a great location. - Pleasantly surprised by the quietness of the motel. Very comfortable bed. Kitchen well equipped for a short stay. Location is just across from the Esplanade. Nice to have a jug of milk in the fridge.

The only problem was the volume on the TV... unable to increase it above a quiet burble. I guess the rooms have a sound proofing issue.
