Benedikt (2/5): Geschlossenes Hotel - Wir haben uns auf ein schönes Zimmer gefreut und eine angenehme Nacht nach einem anstrengendem Tag. Doch die Türen blieben verschlossen und es hatte ein Verkaufsaushang am Fenster
Brigitte (2/5): - Das B&B war geschlossen, mit großem Verkaufsplakat am Balkon. Keiner in der Nachbarschaft hatte von dem B&B gehört. Wir mussten uns etwas anderes suchen.
Craig (2/5): Hotel shut down - doesn't exist - DON'T BOOK. The Carducci 24 B&B no longer exists. We arrived on 1st October 2017 to find a hotel with its shutters down, gates locked and no answer from the bell or first 5 phone calls. Eventually got hold of the owner who told us they don't even live in Stresa and the hotel closed down ages ago. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Expedia (and all other travel sites) really need to take this advert down and it's disappointing to now read the previous review which shows we aren't the first people to face this problem. Really not a good experience. That said, having not seen the previous review at the time, Expedia did a great job addressing the issue. We were moved into a 4star hotel on the lake front, completely central, with a lake view room. This was a more expensive option and did not cost us anything extra. Considering the problem, the advisor I spoke to did an excellent job of finding and booking a replacement, and was pretty quick given he had to speak to various hotels to confirm next steps. Overall, the first hotel was a disaster but the issue was well rectified. The point remains though that this should never have happened, as the property should be removed, which hasn't happened yet, to stop others booking. It's been up for sale since April!
summer (2/5): The hotel was closed and for sale notice attached - This was a very stressful experience as when we arrived at the hotel Carducci in Stresa the hotel was closed and up for sale. We therefore could not stay there and had to find alternative accomodation. Not a pleasant experience for 2 ladies of around 60 years of age.Our holiday was ruined and not as we had planned. On enquiry we discovered that the hotel Carducci was listed for sale in April 2017. It is still on the Expedia website. Have no confidence in Expedia and will never use or recommend this company. Customer service was very unhelpful too.
peter (10/5): A very convenient location - A very convenient location close to restaurants & ferry service Unbelievable breakfast with home cooked pastries along with a wide selection of meats & cheeses. Excellent bang for your buck!
