Guest Reviews
- Hugh (2/5): - Got there no way to get in contact. Property locked up tight! No lights on . Called number on the door , no answer. Had to find another place to stay!
- Holly (10/5): - We loved this hotel! It was so sweet. The location was great and the rooms were very clean with a rustic spanish feel. Highly recommend!
- Heidi Helene (8/5): Lokalt sted - hyggeligt - Lille hyggeligt lokalt sted.
- one_picture_away (6/5): One night stay - First of the hotels placement is perfect just by the shoppingstreet and there are no clubs/disco that you hear so it is quiet from the outside.
But you have to bear in mind that the walls are extremly thin so you will hear the other guest when they listen to tv, and move the furnitures so bring earplugs!
Second it is a 1 star hotel but the standard is better than most 1 star hotels.
There was an AC but it didnt work so when you have checked in, I recommend you to try it the first thing you do so you dont freeze if you are there in the winter. Luckely we had 3 blankets but it was really cold when we stepped out of the bed.
The management isnt at the hotel all the time so we couldnt reach them and ask them to help us with the AC.
Some things could be better such as better pillows. We got one long in a double bed so the sharing wasent so easy..
There was a glap in our bed lamp which can be quite dangerous if you get a electricity hit. The staff should check that everything works before they give out the room.
The manager was however very kind and serviceminded when we did talk to him and we felt very welcome!
We had our car with us so we got that solved very easy and it costed 10€/nigh for the parking in the parking garage close by.
- Frida (8/5): Great placement - First of the hotels placement is perfect just by the shoppingstreet and there are no clubs/disco that you hear so it is quiet from the outside.

Second it is a 1 star hotel but the standard is better than most 1 star hotels but there are some things that could be better such as better pillows, better electricity (there was a glap in our bed lamp). And that the staff check that everything works before they give out the room such as remotecontrol to the tv and that the AC works.
Thanks to all the blankets (3 of them) we where not cold but it was after all in december and it is cold when you get up and we couldnt reach the manager in the evening after we came back to the hotel and noticed the fault.(called the reception)
The manager was however very kind and serviceminded when we did talk to him and we felt very welcome!
- chrisrC1722SX (8/5): Good location - A pleasant, small, simple, family run hotel in an ideal location, just off the main pedestrian shopping street, near lots of cafes and restaurants, walking distance to all attractions and also to the train and bus stations. Do not confuse it with Arunda 2, which is closer to the bus station but further from the town centre.
- JUAN SEBASTIAN (6/5): No thrills! - Not impressed, but not disgusted, either. Justa normal, though bellow average experience, for the price paid and location chosen. Small room and bed, with just enough amenities to have a normal stay. Some things not working properly, like the AC and the TV (which later worked).
As I said, not much else to add. Just a simple place and not sure if I'd go back; a bit old and outdated, even for my bellow average expectations.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location on pedestrian street. Close to restaurants and local bus.
- LI (10/5): Good location and clean room - Located in a really convenient place, closer to the train station and bull fight ring, as well as Puente Nueva. The beds and bathroom are clean and tidy.
- Martin (10/5): Great hotel - thoroughly recommended. - Great hotel in a superb location - top of one of the pedestrian streets for Ronda.
- LYU (8/5): - Very good accommodation for really small price. Perfect location, in the center of the city, close to all attractions.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - To my knowledge, I don’t recall even booking this reservation. I have been to Spain, but never to Rondo. I expect Expedia to refund me this charge
- Marcela (10/5): Muy recomendable - Muy buena experiencia.Habitación limpia y cómoda.Buena ubicación a mano de todo.Gente muy amable.Lo recomiendo.
- Bob494 (10/5): So close and convenient - I lucked out finding this hotel. I had just gotten off the train, walked a few blocks and found the Hotel Arunda I. The price was right, the desk clerk friendly and helpful, and the room neat, tidy and attractive. A comfy bed and roomy bathroom. Heading out the front door, take two left turns, walk 15 ,minutes and you are downtown, about as far as you want to go before heading over the cliff. I dealt with a series of desk clerks, all equally friendly and helpful. I stayed about four nights and appreciated every minute I was with them.
- Shoam (10/5): Hidden GEM - I just saw this hotel and went inside to ask about rooms by chance.
And stayed...
The room is basic but it has everything you need. It was spotless and super neat. Everything in perfect working order.
As if all that was not enough, the kind of service I received from the staff and the owners was FIVE STARS!!!
I cannot emphasize enough how good this place was. The coffee shop next door was perfect, because I like typical everyday places for local people.
I would have stay longer but I could not.
- kpnut0072017 (6/5): It does what it says on the tin. Cheap and cheerful - Staff were helpful. As everyone says, it was basic, but clean. Free WiFi. No English speaking channels on TV!!!!!
Its near everything. There's no roof terrace, or anywhere outside your own room, to just 'sit'.
Don't bother paying extra for the breakfast, which is served at the corner Cafe. You have to fight for a table with normal passing trade, and all it was, was toasted bread or roll with butter & Jam, or Pork Pate, olive oil and tinned tomatoes??!!! Not exactly morning breakfast for the English!!!
If all you want is a clean bed for the night, it meets the brief.
- Byronboy2479 (8/5): A cheap, basic stayover - I spent one night at the Hotel Arunda 1. Check in was easy, the room was clean and comfortable but small and a bit dated. The bed was comfortable, the shower hot and the hotels location is quite good. Within easy walking distance from the train station (around 10 mins) and close enough to walk to the main attractions and old area. The only down side was the walls are very thin. I could here people on one side talking loudly and someone on the other side snoring like a freight train.
- Jan (8/5): A small one star hotel with character. - A small one star hotel with character. Very helpful staff and parking was just 50 meters from the hotel. Situated next to the pedestrian area and a 10 minutes walk to the famous Puerto Nuevo. Typical Spanish breakfast served in the coffee bar next door. You can enjoy your breakfast with the locals. Good value for money. Do not miss out the evening concerts in the Guitar shop.
- CanmoreFunkyDude (8/5): Somewhat Spartan, but very affordable - Located about 10/15 minutes walk from the rail station, at the top end of of the pedestrian street Carrer Espinel, (Which takes one down to the bullring and the “new” bridge), on the corner with Calle San Antonio de Tabares ). My room was small, and very dated, but the bathroom was clean, and the bed comfortable, although about six inches too short. Basic bath supplies provided, and plenty of hot water. There is wall mounted heating/AC, a small flatscreen, desk, chair, and a window that opens. Electrical outlets in short supply, but through careful management I was able to keep my electronic devices topped up. The desk staff are friendly and helpful, but I doubt if there is much chance that they speak anything but Castellano. There is an ancient elevator, but I did not actually use it, being located on the first floor. There is a wide variety of cafes, taperias and restaurants within a km radius, and breakfast (not included) is available in the hotel’s cafe next door (enter from Carrer Espinel). A well stocked supermarket a few doors down on C/ S. Antonio. Its a 15 minute stroll to the tourist centre, down the the main shopping/pedestrian street. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- 188petere (6/5): A cheap overnight stay - Booked a cheap night stay in a hotel in town with parking & it is exactly what we ordered. The room is on the main street, is simple & older, but clean, comfortable with hot water & secure parking.
Staff are friendly, and helped me park the car. Also gave us god tips in broken English about what to do in Ronda. Hotel has a lift & reception.
- meade (8/5): Thank you middle ages - This place was built a few hundred years ago, but has been adequately updated. If you want the charm of past you have to be willing to overlook a few things. We loved it.
- 974RobertoR974 (10/5): Definitely a good experience - We spent 3 night in Ronda this was the perfect accommodation where to stay in. Good cleanness, friendly staff and perfect location: right in the heart of Ronda. It is a good worth staying here and in my opinion it has a good value for money.
They have also a small parking, detached from the main building but very close to the hotel, which was very useful according to the lack of parking space in the town centre.
It was hard to find somebody who spoke English though.
It was definitely a positive experience.
- Gaily1 (10/5): Perfect - Stayed for one night for our first night of a tour of southern Spain.
Easy to find with Sat Nav & parked on street which was fine. Lots of streets close by to park in for free just avoid the ones that have yellow paint on the kerb.
Really nice people & great room, had earplugs so did not hear the noise from the other rooms or the street. Very close to everything Rhonda has to offer just walk down the hill from the Hotel towards the bridge to find lots of places to eat and drink and see.
Would stay again as it was very comfortable & nice bathroom.
- paxpacker23 (10/5): A very warm and friendly hotel - We are travelling for three months and are on a budget so were pleasantly surprised, after reading about the hotel in trip advisor, to find it was as good as the write ups suggested. It is a little noisy, we have ear plugs, but the private garage (for a small fee) for our car in this very busy town was a bonus. In addition the bathroom and shower was as good as we have experienced in much more expensive hotels. We would definitely stay here again
- rcharlto (10/5): Great value and location! - The staff was really helpful and friendly. Being located on a pedestrian street was a real plus and it is an easy walk to the train station and to the old bridge, Bull ring, and other historic sights. Did experience the very thin walls but that was a small price to pay for all the pros this place offers.
- 148dulcep (6/5): Foreign travellers beware! (non European type) - The hotel is nice and clean, etc. but the employees will friendly ask too many questions about your legal status in the country and will call the police to check your passport (citizens from my country don't need a visa, and I had been in the UE for like 4 days in a row). They sayid it's normal in the UE to do so. But I've been in lots of UE countries and hotels and this had NEVER happened.
- ianwood99 (8/5): Top value for money in a lovely town - Free parking was a great bonus; breakfast was good at the next door cafe; room comfortable and clean - just a little lacking on sound proofing so every move in the adjacent rooms was audible; staff really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and I'd stay here again if overnighting in Ronda.
Ronda has much to offer. This is a good base to enjoy it from.
- Smileytoes (8/5): Great value for money! - Cheap, cheerful, simple, friendly and fantastic location. The room I had was small but clean and just a perfect place to drop bags and sleep. Staff are friendly and the location is very good.I had a small single room facing the street.
- Iain_Nicholls (10/5): Recommended if driving. - The thing that attracted us to this property was the availability of free secure parking. This can be a nightmare in central Spain but the parking provided is excellent and only 50m from the hotel.
The hotel itself had excellent condition rooms and we were very happy with the size.
30m in the other direction was a major pedestrianised shopping Street and Ronda is small enough that anywhere is within reach.
If you are feeling energetic walk down below the bridge and keep going into the valley for a nice view back to the cliffs.
There are other hotels in Ronda which are perched on the clifftop but these will cost a fortune. If you have a fortune to spend go there. If you don't, stay here.
- linfromlynn (8/5): V clean and comfortable great value for money - V friendly staff and perfect location with a few minutes walk from station and the old town. Lots of places to eat and the hotel has its own breakfast cafe next door. The price we paid was quite amazing for 3 nights. The downside was v thin walls so when soneone gets up you will be awake. No heating in rooms which obviously in the season is not needed. We went in november it was cold in the night so take warm things for sleeping. We had extra blankets provided v cosy but still the room was v cold. No soap for handwashing despite requesting it so take your own.
- SallyL769 (8/5): Great place, good location, helpful staff - Nice room overlooking walking street. Cold rainy weather but good heater in room. Great places to eat (tapas, meal, snack) w/in a block. Super helpful staff, hotel has safe parking lot for 8 E per day (can go in and out whenever). Good price. Easy walk to old town and bridge. Loved Ronda!
- IllinoisTheresa (10/5): Clean, family hotel with an excellent location! - Easy walk from the train station! We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in Ronda and loved this small hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable . The wifi worked well. This is an excellent value. We would stay here again.
