Guest Reviews
- Linda (10/5): - Good and good.
- sarahfK5223OI (10/5): Gem of a motel. - A gem of a family owned motel. We were in the area for the Ironman in Frankfurt, 30 mins away, and had a great 2 night stay. It is an older motel that they are in the process of updating. We stayed in room that had not been remodeled yet and was a little dated but VERY clean, spacious and comfortable. The fan/AC worked great and the bedding was comfortable. The owners and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice coffee/tea bar in the lobby that I enjoyed outside in a chair on the lawn. There was a small mini golf course and swings. The lobby had games to borrow and helpful tourist info on the area. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
- Jonathan (4/5): - Bed bugs. So gross.
- Joshua (10/5): - Great stay. Friendly staff, excellent location for exploring the area
- Takisha (10/5): - Check in was simple and fast. The owner was very kind and knowledgeable about festivities going on in the area. The property was so nice looking! It’s tucked away in a quiet area of the main road. They have free put-put golf on site and a small playground for kids. (I didn’t pay much attention because we didn’t take our kids, but I think there were swings)
I’m not sure why, but we were “upgraded” upon arrival. The room was very spacious! The bed was comfortable, the water was hot, the AC was cold. It was awesome!
Only one thing would have made it more comfortable, and that would be either more pillows or thicker pillows. They were pretty flat.
My husband and I will definitely stay there again!
- Kathy (8/5): Lovely people, lovely stay. - The service was excellent. They were friendly and helpful, and even though I did not find the firm mattress comfortable, they went above and beyond to make it better for me. The maps and pamphlets and recommendations of things to do in the area were much appreciated.
- Michael (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff.
- ALLISON (10/5): Stay at this hotel! - Everything was amazing at this hotel. Friendly staff, super clean room, quiet, nice selection of teas, good parking, cute dogs, very welcoming and safe. Highly recommend. Took 5 people with me and stayed in the 4 queen bed lodge and everything was perfect. I have traveled all around Michigan and the world and stayed at castles, the Waldorf, the Ritz and other luxury hotels and this was a wonderful hotel to me and i have incredibly high standards! Thanks for a wonderful stay and so many happy memories!
- Kyle (10/5): - Didn’t have a hairdryer in the room and was told they only put them in premium rooms. Not an issue as they did give us one. Last time we stayed in a regular room and we did have a hairdryer. Nice little motel will stay again.
- David Paul (10/5): - No complaints!
- TravelingTheWorld414 (10/5): Definitely would stay again and great prices! - I traveled from Iowa to Michigan for a trip and was very impressed with the hotel we stayed at. I loved how modern the decor was and how spacious the room felt. Everything was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The front desk area was also charming and well kept. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely stay here again if I come back through the area.
- Kathleen (6/5): - I wish i would have known there wasn't a hair dryer
- Jeffrey (8/5): Nice little motel in good location for golf/gamble - Decent little motel. Clean. Well located if you’re if you’re golfing at Arcadia and going to the Little River Casino. Comfortable beds. Good pricing.
- Bart (10/5): - Very good spot for your Arcadia golf trips
- Christopher (10/5): Restful bliss - Fantastic owners who work hard to make your stay affordable and enjoyable. Thank you so much
- Joseph (6/5): Wifi issues - The wifi would connect but without internet.
Could only use my own 5g network
- Michael (8/5): Stay at Inn at the Alpine - There were food options provided during our stay. Bed was ok, was squeaky. Would have been nice to have more than 2 pillows per bed like most stays have 4 per bed.
- Erica (10/5): - Kevin and Tonya have created a very special motel. Kevin is on the local tourism board and knowledgeable about the area. Both are nice and welcoming. The rooms are clean and don't break the bank. Convenient location. They offer locally-roasted coffee in the morning or a nice selection of tea and have a nice partnership with a local restaurant nearby for breakfast (large portions and delicious). I stayed here on a work trip, but would come back with family. This place reminded me of why family run motels were so popular for a time.. and would be again if they were all run like this. I definitely encourage you to support this great locally-owned business.
- Caitlin (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the best part is they have ice available!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice little motel! The owners obviously care about it. Location is wonderful too.
- 81artmonk (6/5): Average motel that needs help to be better - So let’s start with the positive. The actual property is very cute and quaint. The staff and the people who I met while staying there are extremely accommodating and willing to make your stay work. The main issues I had was they appear to miss the small things that could make this a gem of a property. Our particular room was very basic. Older furniture and an A/C unit that was probably as old as I am. It was so old that every time it came on it smelled of mildew. Our door was so out of whack that it required me to put my shoulder into it in order to get it open, the lock looked like someone had taken a hammer to it and our key wouldn’t work so we got locked out of our room. While we were at dinner the manager had a new lock installed. The bathtub was so clogged that if your shower was more than 3 mins you were standing in ankle deep water. I get the need to find affordable remodel materials when outfitting a bathroom but many properties we have stayed at much like this one are using dangerous materials. The bathroom tile was a glazed coating that when wet was like ice. The shower was a new insert shower/Tub which when wet was also like ice. Both my wife and I almost fell while showering it was so slick. More practical, yet affordable materials need to be considered in the future. We had a lamp that didn’t work. They had a small mini golf area but it had weeds growing in it so you couldn’t play. It’s these small things that if handled it could be a nice little oasis in the wilderness. I give them credit for being attentive but had these issues been handled prior these issues wouldn’t have been a problem. If you are looking for a no frills roadside motel for an affordable price this fits the bill.
- Michael (10/5): - The host was very nice upon arrival. We talked about things in the area as some of my family grew up nearby.
- Amy (10/5): Would definitely stay here again - Booked for one night after a day of golf and it was perfect. Extremely clean. May seem weird to mention but the water pressure was great and the bathroom/shower area was very clean. Staff was super friendly at check in and the dogs were sweet!! Would definitely stay here again!
- Rona (8/5): - Nice clean room....beds need updating
- Jennifer (10/5): Nice place to stay - Went up for a wedding and got a good price at the Alpine Inn. Owners are renovating and were very friendly and helpful. Very clean and conveniently located.
- karen (10/5): - We plan on returning.
- Sheridan (8/5): - Check in was easy and the staff was very personable. Informed about coffee and ice being in the front office. Would definitely stay here again.
- Pritish (10/5): - Great property close to a scenic lake.
- Kathleen (8/5): - Obvious that the management has put effort into making the area pleasant and welcoming. The managers were very friendly and welcoming.
With that said, some basic maintenance issues should be addressed. Specifically that room doors seemed all to be in need of new locks and adjusting so they open & close properly. I did not feel comfortable with adequacy of the locks or ability to get out quickly in an emergency. Additionally the room was clean and appeared well maintained but had a definite musty smell that was noticeable.
- Michelle (10/5): - Good location. Nice sized clean no frills room.
- Sean (10/5): - Staff is very warm and accommodating. Rooms are clean with fridge , TV and microwave. Very quiet and peaceful.
- Frank (10/5): - This was our first stay at Inn at the Alpine. We have traveled extensively and this is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. The cleanliness of the room certainly exceeded our expectations. The gentleman at the reception desk was very friendly and the check in process was easy. We would highly recommend this facility when visiting the area.
- MaryEllen (10/5): - Beautiful grounds! Very clean room with nice comfortable beds. I will definitely stay again next time I’m in the area!
- Marjorie (10/5): - Loved this place. Easy to get to...the owners are great. Would definitely stay here again.
- shann (10/5): - The staff was friendly and helpful. Nice places for eating and drinking close by. Very clean!!
- Kevin (10/5): - This is an older facility that the owners are working hard to update. It was very comfortable and Tanya and Kevin were great to work with.
- Megan (10/5): - We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and had a great time. We wanted to try somewhere new and Inn at the Alpine didn't disappoint. It's located between Manistee and Frankfort with plenty to go do and see. The room was very clean and spacious. There is a little mini gold course on-site and space to sit in the lawn. We checked out the Arcadia Dunes; Baldy Trails per the recommendation of the owner and will definitely be returning to hike for that view again. We received a 20% off coupon for Lakeside Cafe in Bear Lake for breakfast. The food was excellent and would recommend. We will definitely be staying at the Inn at the Alpine again!
- Jesse (10/5): - Very friendly.
- Timothy (6/5): - It was central to every thing I had going on.
- Dave (10/5): - Friendly, clean nice size rooms and pet friendly
- Mark (10/5): - Excellent stay. Very friendly check in and very smooth process. Room was great!
- kimberly (10/5): - Wonderful family owed place!! Great people, not too fancy but great!
- Sandra (8/5): - Our trip was quick but very much enjoyed our stay!
- Joshua (10/5): - Real nice folks.
- Michael (10/5): - We LOVE the Alpine. It's in a quiet location and the staff are wonderful! The rooms are always spotlessly clean.
The Alpine is no-frills, but that makes it nice. Just a quaint, quiet place to relax in a spacious, clean room. The staff are friendly and courteous and We've stayed there twice now, and both stays were excellent. Much better than in one of the "brand name" hotels.
- Kathy (10/5): Fall tour - We stay here on our fall anniversary trips from time to time. Very close to casino. Clean and very quiet.
- Linda (10/5): - The staff was super friendly and for the price, the accommodations were very nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly and helpful. Nice and clean rooms!
- Karen (4/5): - The people who run it are very nice but the bed is horribly hard, the soap has rough particles and is not nice to use
- Jeffery (10/5): Quaint and cute - Wonderfully adorable motel in a lake town. Was there for business and enjoyed the stay.
- Lynn (8/5): - Quiet and clean.
- Anthony (10/5): - The room was more spacious then a regular hotel room. Owners were very frindly. Very comfortable and clean.
- monicah755 (10/5): Wonderful Night Stay - We stayed one night here and were very happy with our stay.
At check in, Kevin was very pleasant and welcoming. He gave me a few area ideas to explore. I was given a percent off coupon to Lakeside Cafe for breakfast, which was delicious. Very friendly staff at the cafe.
The room was spacious and clean. The fixtures/ sink etc. were newer. We're more used to a pillow top mattresses, this one was flat, but!!! that being said we had a great nights sleep.
The lobby has local brewed coffee/tasted good to me, tea, espresso machine, there's a few tables to sit at, nice amount of local area phamphlets and map. There's games to borrow . A sweet dog to greet you!
Thank you!!
- Robyn (10/5): - Property is super clean. Staff is very friendly beds are comfortable more to say.
- Rich (8/5): - We used this place as a base for our visiting many different places around the area each day. Very close to Onekama and Arcadia where we did a lot of hiking. The breakfast discount at Lakeside Cafe in Bear Lake was used every morning.
We were in room 112 and unfortunately the dead bolt did not line up properly with the door; therefore we were not able to secure our door with that extra safety precaution.
- Gina (10/5): - Great stay, very clean and comfortable.
- Ned (10/5): - We just needed a place to sleep. We weren't there much. It was 2 minutes from our first event, so that was great. The bed was fine. The water is from a well, so we weren't used to the taste. The staff was outstanding. It was perfect for our needs.
- timothy (10/5): - I didn't expect this modest hotel to be so nice. The rooms smelled fresh and we could open the window to allow in the fresh air (a plus for us). It was extremely quiet despite being full capacity. We received coupon for discount on breakfast and really enjoyed the local eatery. I would stay again.
- Lee (8/5): Great stay - Pork chop the dog was very nice.
- Heather (4/5): - The location was great for day trips to areas around onekema, crystal mt and Frankfurt. Sad to arrive and find my room was filthy and when I brought it to the manager’s attention they apologized but their comment of well it’s not the Hilton still sticks with me also their website had pic of a pool and they list bonfire area neither of these amenities were there
- Kimberly (10/5): - What a beautiful place to stay. It was comfortable and very clean. Super easy access to where we needed to be. Thank you!!

It was my wifes bday and the staff gave her a special gift. Ill be returning, they made our trip memoreable.
- Judi (10/5): - Large, clean room made a great impression on us.
- Louis (8/5): Nice and reasonably affordable - My wife and I took a trip up North for our anniversary. The motels in Frankfort where expensive. We decided to stay at the Alpine in Bear Lake which was about 20 miles from our destination. It was much more affordable and was surprisingly nice. We would stay again.
- David (10/5): - Friendly and courteous owners. Nice atmosphere and warm welcoming
- Kim (8/5): - We loved the quiet peaceful feeling of not having a lot of traffic and city noise.

- Lisa (10/5): - Great place close to Onekama/Portage Lake. Reasonably priced and very nice.

- Dana (10/5): - Very close to Portage Lake, Bear Lake and Manistee. Updated room and very spacious. Fridge and microwave in room.
- Sandra (10/5): - Family owned. Great service.
- Jeffrey C. (10/5): - We have stayed at The Inn at the Alpine before and it never disappoints. The property is like an old time Motel from the '60s. Everything is very clean and comfy. The family that operates the motel are very nice and helpfiul. By far the most affordable option in the area. Their dog, Pork Chop will always make you smile. Well worth the trip. We will be back again for sure.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Very clean
- Bri (8/5): - The couple was very friendly. Very nice location. I could only lock my door from the inside which was a bit odd. I would like to see them update the beds and some other amenities but overall Alpine is a diamond in the rough.
- Sonja (10/5): - It was so cute & such beautiful little set up! The owners were more than hospitable. I love visiting my home town and being reminded of how wonderful the people are.
Thank you so much!
- Megan (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful, and their dogs were an adorable bonus! The room was very clean and spacious for the price.
- James (10/5): - Everything was well maintained, we didn't spend much time on the grounds, but it was a quaint, clean quiet property. We saw .mini golf and Barbecue grills with picnic tables on the green space within the confines of the drive and parking lot.
There was some hail damage that was being repaired. The roof was freshly re-shingled, and replacement windows were on the way for the office.
In the room the water was instantly hot, and was very hot, at that.the tub was quite slippery, but everything was spotless.
I would return if i were to vist the area again.
- Michael (10/5): - The property is older, but that lends to its charm. The rooms were large and extremely clean! The area is quiet and we got a great nights sleep. We will definitely stay here again when we're in the area!!

- JoAnn (10/5): - It's in a secluded area. Large comfortable room. Would definitely recommend it to anyone!
