- James K (4/5): Could have been cute BUT….. - We have stayed in a wide variety/price range of rooms over 10+ years of road trips..but have not encountered a room w no curtains/ broken shades (2 types); outside lighting that no eye mask could conceal; dead spiders abounding; mud piles (?) in spots & a tv that required on-hand manipulation (remote useless) .. the unique odor was never identified & NO hair dryer topped off the next morning! Oh well…,

- Gayle (8/5): - The rooms was very nicely done, very clean and comfortable, ports for recharging, hair dryer, etc. very convenient to downtown Pearl Harbor. Alas the pervasive smell of cleaning chemicals made me leave for several hours. I've tried to record it to management, but no one is on duty 7:00 p.m. or so. As an older person, I had some difficulty lugging my suitcase up and down the steep step.

But a B&B motel should be a place where you are greeted with a warm welcome. The breakfast was subpar. Coffee was actually awful! The one person that made a difference was the lady working the front desk. She was exactly what one would expect, warm and welcoming.

- Jodi (8/5): - This place was nice. We wanted to love it as the staff was great and the proximity to the water was perfect. However, the bed was a nightmare. Possibly the worst we’ve ever had. And although we rented the apartment, there were barely any cooking tools. So we left early and stayed down the road.
- Tammy (8/5): - Great and classic motel close to the downtown. It was an older building but consists of a lovely old Victorian house and motel rooms. You can tell the staff works hard to make your stay comfortable- very clean, and a nicely laid out continental breakfast. Yes, it’s a little outdated, but if you’re looking for clean, affordable and unique accommodations walkable to the downtown, this is it!

In my opinion, they should have been in the room already, along with coffee, tea etc if breakfast wasn't being included with no price reduction. The wi fi worked if I sat outside the building, but was very poor inside and would keep cutting out. The shower was good!!

- John (4/5): - When we pulled back the covers to check the sheets (as we always do) one of the beds had wrinkled sheets that had obviously been slept in. There was also pubic hair. Called the phone number on the door (as the clerk had left by 8 although it stated they were open till !0). After talking to a nice lady who said she"d try to contact housekeeping it took 1/2 a hour for the clerk to show up. She checked bed and offered us a different room. She also suggested we talk to the morning staff about some compensation. The clerk said she could do nothing but she"d pass information on. So far we have heard nothing !! The breakfast that came with our room was the most basic I"ve ever seen. toast, 1 type of cereal, some tiny muffins and coffee. Would not recommend this Motel. No Value for the price.

- Henry (8/5): - The place was quaint and easy to get to from the ferry terminal. However, the shower head was clogged and very little water water came out. Also, tub did not drain well.
- John (6/5): - Lakelawn is an old 19th century house converted into a motel. We stayed in the old part, which had an air of faded grandeur. The bed was comfortable, the other furniture ecelctic and second-hand. Staff was friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was minimal amd uninspired. Not a great value for the money but convenient to the CAT ferry, which is a big plua.

- Christina (8/5): - We wanted to stay in a historical building during our stay in Yarmouth and Lakelawn certainly met our wish! We stayed in the main building so certainly experienced the character of a place built in the 1860’s. Many period features still in place. The grounds next to the motel units though looked like they could use a little TLC. We wanted to express a specific thank you to the receptionist Ashley. She was very welcoming and helpful - had great suggestions on what to see and do. She also went above and beyond in helping us to sort out a storage issue for us. We felt she really demonstrated what great customer service should be! Thank you Ashley!
- Susan (4/5): - It boasted a bed & breakfast, it was an old run down motel, with coffee ‘only in the office @ 7’ & cold muffins. Lawn was not kept, ate my dinner outside my room (because no air & the fan was terrible). My dinner guest was a spider hanging on her web. I think Charolette was eyeing my pizza. It could be very quaint, but a lot to do to the inside & outside. Blanket was very rough & old.

- Averell (8/5): - We stayed here the night before taking the ferry to Bar Harbor and it was a perfect spot, just a 5 minute drive to the terminal. Old style motel with charm. Check-in was super easy and staff very friendly. Wish we had more time here and would stay here again if in the area. Only downsides were no AC (but a box fan and ceiling fan helped with that) and the bed against the wall so access only from one side or the bottom of the bed. Overall a nice experience.

It was an outdated property - it eas clean but there were brown water stains on ceiling and the bathroom floor was soft and it felt like it would cave on anytime. I was scheduled to stay two nights but checked out a night early. I did not feel confirtsbke there.

- David (6/5): - This is by far one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed. The rooms were only cleaned twice in a 5 nights stay. The kitchenette did not have knives or a coffee maker or a tea kettle. The sofa bed was filthy and no sheets or pillows were provided for the first night as there is no 24/7 front desk service. There is no AC in the room and the entire unit is contaminated with a mold smell, which caused us harm. The hot water is scolding and burns your skin if you don't be carful. The faucet does not keep it in lukewarm and switches to cold or scolding hot while showering. We had to ask for towels every day! The bathroom window had no blinds and people were able to see us taking showers at night. This hotel and the NovaStar are all owened by this Vietnamese Man and he does not care in the properties or their upkeep. Does not offer any refunds. Don't waste your money on either one of them.

We liked the proximity to the ferry, and we’re happy to get a minimal but included breakfast in the morning. Our check-in was easy and the staff member was very friendly and welcoming.

- Connie (6/5): The years have not been kind to this motel. - We were last here in 2013. This year we stayed in room 19 and were disappointed. The bed was pushed against a wall, meaning one of us had to climb out. One window had a broken shade, the other had none. The shower was either HOT or COLD with no in between. There was molded grout outside the shower.
