- Prouza (10/5): Traumhafte Lage - Das Hotel ist eine alte Villa im Kolonialstil, absolut ruhig gelegen und mit einer fantastischen Aussicht auf das Meer. Der Swimmingpool ist erstklassig – sehr großzügig, und wir haben jeden Moment dort genossen. Ein Mietwagen ist auf jeden Fall dringend empfehlenswert. An die eher schwache Servicequalität, die teils unfreundliche Art vieler Einheimischer sowie die teilweise stark überhöhten Preise muss man sich allerdings gewöhnen. Wer erwartet, dass man stets freundlich angelächelt wird, Hilfe mit dem Gepäck bekommt oder um 20 euro essen gehen kann, ist hier möglicherweise nicht am richtigen Ort. Gleichzeitig machen das äußerst angenehme Klima, die wunderschöne Gartenlandschaft, die besondere Architektur und die traumhaften Strände vieles wieder wett. Aus unserer Sicht absolut empfehlenswert.

- Linda (6/5): Unsatisfactory. - The exterior of the hotel was lovely. The staff were friendly. We were the only people staying there, which felt kind of creepy. The decor is awful - gold detailing on the furniture, horrible brocade drapes. It was like we were in Trump's White House.

When we arrived at the hotel after a 16 hour trip from Western Canada, there was no record of our reservation and we were turned away. Clearly a scam to take advantage of high rates at Spring Break!! Steer clear - your reservation is NOT guaranteed!

- Ann (9/5): It was a lovely ending to our trip to the Bahamas. - It was like staying in a palace! Surprisingly opulent. The pool area is beautiful. No dining facilities on site. No elevator. Many marble stairs.
- 517milagrosn (6/5): Airbnb not a hotel - The property is located on a top of a hill, yes indeed a beautiful view, but far from downtown and other fun attractions. The beach is across a very busy road and not suitable for swimming. No beach chairs, open ocean , rocks and a lot of seed weeds. Not the best impression for the first visit. The property is not a hotel, it’s an Airbnb. If you want a place to be isolated, this is the place. Breakfast is available, but not variety. Transportation is very pricey, best option rent a vehicle. The room was clean. The staff was attentive and willing to help. It was my first trip to Bahamas and expected the location to be different.
- heidip570 (10/5): Elegant, quiet property not far from the Airport - We needed a hotel last-minute in Nassau in between flights, and Ocean West Boutique was available and looked quite suitable. Overall the property is nice; a few minutes' ride from the airport (make sure to take advantage of their shuttle-service - almost half the cost of a taxi !). The staff were wonderful - very helpful! There is a great casual restaurant a few minutes walk from the hotel, and not too far to walk to a few shops. The property is lovely; elegant décor and pretty gardens, and a beautiful pool and deck. The pool is not heated, but the deck is lovely. It is a quiet property, away from the hustle and bustle and touristy-ness of other parts of Nassau. If you are looking for a beach, you won't find it here. The waterfront is a short walk away, but it is rocky, not sandy. Its a nice place for a short, quiet getaway close to the airport.

- johndK6718AW (10/5): 3 Quiet Nights after Abaco and Eleuthera with a small American Bird Conservancy group - A lovely quiet room with view (I think the Emerald pictured with two comfortable chairs on the balcony), good service, plus breakfast options. As a birder the two small wetlands below the hotel's condos and the grounds provided several species of interest. Three restaurants within walking distance offered good food (2 Bahamian and one Italian with a mixed ambiance, especially the chickens and cats underfoot at The Plantation. I liked being out of the busier Nassau areas and the large tourist hotels.

- Sharon (10/5): Lovely, quiet, relaxing stay. - Lovely little boutique hotel with nice pool and gardens. We loved the location - a short walk from a quiet beach. It is quite some distance from Nassau and if you want to see the island a car is useful. However, the hotel can access taxis. In general, there wasn't much that we didn't like. It would have been nice to have had a second chair in our large room and a few more pool chairs in the shade. These are suggestions.

- sabinamO1167MP (10/5): Charming little boutique hotel - We missed our flight to North Eleuthera and decided to fly to Nassau to catch a next-day flight from there. I booked a room at this lovely little boutique hotel at the last minute, and it turned out to be charming! Only a few miles from the airport, with a lovely pool and garden, as well as views of the water. We were able to walk down the driveway to have dinner at one of three nearby restaurants. Our room was spotless with a redone bathroom, and the bed was really comfortable. There was a rec room with a pool table and bar and a lovely terrace overlooking the pool. We left too early to enjoy breakfast, but the hotel provided transportation to the airport the next day at half the cost of our taxi the night before. The two staff that we met couldn't have been nicer. I happily recommend this hotel, if you need a place near the airport.
- love2holiday17 (6/5): A guest house with peace and quiet and a beautiful view. - We stayed in the Coral room for 10 nights. Sadly the photos of the sea view don’t match the actual reality, your view will be obscured by badly fitting Venetian blinds and worse still bars on the windows. This is the same for all the rooms on the ground floor. It’s a quiet spot and if it’s peace and quiet you’re looking for then this is the place to be. Most people will require a car if planning to stay at this guest house for any longer than a couple of days, there’s a couple of places to eat in walking distance and a fine dining restaurant called Sapordilla next door. We didn’t hire a car but used the local Jittney bus which was $1.50 per trip each and took you right down into the Straw market/ down town. Cable beach is worth a visit but there’s only a very small section of it for public to use now as Sandals hotel group have taken over. The guest house is on a steep hill giving beautiful views from the terrace by the pool, every where is generally clean and tidy. There is a gym advertised on the top floor but you couldn’t really call it that, it’s a treadmill, a Cross trainer and a few weights with a bench. If you require house keeping daily then you have to request it. Being English we like a cup of tea in a morning so took our travel kettle with us, but a complimentary coffee tray can be provided if you want one. Breakfast is available but we didn’t eat at the guest house. I don’t think we would stay here again for various reasons, but I’m sure for 1 or 2 nights it would be ok.

Our bedroom ( Tanzanite Room) was on ground floor , & was a big room , with lovely ensuite , fridge for any drinks you purchase. We requested a coffee tray to our room ( coffee machine ) the night before as we were leaving at 7 am following morning to get to airport , & so would miss breakfast. Ground Coffee was lovely. We ate at the Sapodilla Restaurant , which was in gardens next door to hotel ( part if the family company). This was amazing food. Nothing

- paulcY2112RE (10/5): Beautiful, quiet hotel with amazing views and great staff - This is a truly amazing spot for a quiet couples getaway. Beautiful pool area overlooking the ocean. We had the top floor Diamond suite, but the view is amazing from all of the ocean facing rooms. A driver is available to take you and pick you up around the island which is nice and they made some great suggestions. Really enjoyed the fresh, cooked to order breakfast overlooking the ocean. The beach at that spot isn’t great, but they will take you a very nice spot just down the road. Several nice restaurants in walking distance. We had a great time

- DrStroke (6/5): On balance I can not recommend as more problems than pleasures - Problems Hotel states they have transportation that guests pay for. Upon arrival we called as instructed but no one was available. So, we took taxi to the property. Next day morning hotel driver transportation into town was fine and we were told to call to arrange return. Which we did, but “sorry we can’t pick you up for return because afternoon driver didn’t show up for work.” On return to airport I said "US departures" three times but driver still didn't go to right place until after she'd made destination mistakes and didn't appear to follow the clear signs. Often, not always but more than rarely, we’d pass by the front desk and see it unattended. Overnight once the front desk phone, which we could hear (see below) rang about 50 times with no answer. With US State Department Jan 2026 warnings about theft in The Bahamas, I want to know hotel staff are fully present. At breakfast, the only meal served on property, foods on menu weren’t available. I ordered wheat toast. Different server came back and said “we are out of wheat because of a wedding over the weekend.” Weddings I go to have toast issues, but unrelated to type of bread. Similarly ordered fruit plate with subsequent server returning with “we only have oranges and grapes.” Pleasant enough, but seems the property has supplier issues. Things to note Occasional furniture in common spaces has Louis XIV in paradise vibe. While small and secluded therefore generally tranquil, some interior hallway noise as hotel with hard floors and space between room entry doors and floor. A consequence of seclusion is sense of isolation. Only a few off property places to eat lunch or dinner within few minutes walking from hotel. We went to both and they were fine; note those places are not open 7 days a week. Bathroom fan made plenty of noise but didn’t extract much steam. So, either had to shower with bathroom door open and disturb my spouse or enjoy a tropical sauna Pleasures Stunning view of the sea off room balcony Beds comfortable Housekeeping efficient Pool lovely Complementary drip coffee set up for morning routine on request; no tea or decaf. There was a restaurant at the bottom of the steep hill but was closed on Mondays. Available hotel snacks were minimal and not adequately stocked. Requested a receipt for room charges which I never received.

We've stayed at numerous hotels/Inns in Nassau on our way to the Out Islands of the Bahamas, but Ocean West Boutique Hotel surpasses them all. The pick up at the airport by Kayleigh-easy peasy-she gave us a tour of the hotel and showed us to our lovely room(Emerald) for an early check-in! Thank you. The room, the grounds, the POOL, the amenities-all perfect. But it was the staff that made us feel so at home and welcomed-Kayleigh, India and the young man at the desk overnight, as well as the other caretakers/workers in the hotel. We'll be back in 2 weeks and then again as this is our new definite stay in Nassau!

- 611ninag (10/5): Amazing, quiet, safe peaceful castle on the hill - I was one of many who were stranded in Nassau during Tropical Storm Imelda. One quick early morning phone call and suddenly I am picked up and completely taken care of until my flight finally left. This 10 bedroom immaculate castle on the hill with incredible views made me feel like a queen. No hassle of taxi’s, no bustle of people or traffic, just safely relax in the tranquility and peaceful surroundings. The made to order breakfast on the terrace was delicious and simply delightful. While there’s no restaurant on site for lunch/dinner, simply order from whatever restaurant you like. An incredible ‘get away’ location. Highly highly recommend.

The ladies at the front desk super friendly and helpful especially India she's the type of person you would want on your team, going the extra mile for the guest. Will definitely recommend this resort for anyone looking for a place to stay in Nassau. Also proximity to the airport is a plus.

- KandN123 (10/5): A hidden Gem at the top of the hill. - Great staff and customer service is impeccable. Mayor plus for us was the shuttle service and having access to the restaurant and Bar at the entrance of the hotel. Pool table, bar, pool and breakfast available at location. Had a great experience the first time and we stayed a second time on our way back. Highly recommend.

- Birgitta_11 (10/5): Truly beautiful place! - My husband and I have stayed at this lovely hotel now several times over night to catch connecting flights to the out islands and we consider it more a B&B as it is an elegant Italian renaissance style former private residence of a dentist, gated and with only 10 rooms for guests to rent. It is truly a jewel compared to the typical hotels in Nassau- IF you are looking for quiet and no hustle and bustle that is! It sits high up on a hill with spectacular views of the ocean and surrounding area and has a lovely tropically landscaped garden with palm trees and other exotic plants. As other reviewers mentioned there is a pool with a few lounge chairs to take in the quiet and peace of the place. It is in close proximity to the airport, has a really nice restaurant with good food and outside bar within 5 minutes walking distance close by, but no restaurant on site which can be a bit problematic should you arrive at a rather late hour...... Breakfast is available, not a huge menu, but the quality is very good and the staff is truly very nice, professional and attentive to your needs. They also offer a 'shuttle' which is a private SUV that can be arranged for guest pick up and drop off from/to the airport with prices more reasonable ($18 one way) compared to regular taxis that can charge up to $40 depending on the day and time :)

Miły i uczynny personel. Możność transferu lotniskowego. Do samego obiektu nie mamy zastrzeżeń, ale trzeba wziąć pod uwagę, że do Centrum Nassau i sklepów jest dość daleko, taksówki na Bahama nie są tanie a transport publiczny jest nieregularny. Jeżeli chcecie zwiedzać wyspę, polecam wypożyczenie auta.

- Kelly (8/5): - Just as described. A lovely, quiet spot with beautiful beach views and friendly staff. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and the A/C worked very well. It’s a hotel but feels more like a big private home. A hot breakfast is available a la carte, but be aware the hotel does not have a restaurant on site to offer lunch or dinner. There are two good restaurants at the bottom of the hill with views of the ocean across the road: one an beachside bar and restaurant, and one more formal. They are within walking distance, but be aware that if you walk down the hill you will also need to walk back up. The hotel did offer transportation to the airport. Overall it was a great spot for me to relax for a quick overnight trip to the island. If I were staying longer, I probably would have wanted a car to get out and explore.

- Afsaneh (8/5): - The hotel is beautiful. The people at the desk became my friends and are so helpful and sweet. I adored them. The breakfast was such a nice convenience. The private driving service can get expensive but it was also so helpful and cheaper than getting a cab! parts of the room seemed a little aged more than I would like but overall it was nice. I had some leftovers in a container and in the morning they were covered in tiny ants. They are very common on the island with drinks or food so you can’t leave anything out. The beach nearby i absolutely loved bc it was so quiet and peaceful with a tiki bar that also sold food. Overall, I had a great time

- 687normanf (10/5): Beautiful Hotel and Incredible Service - Wonderful hotel close to the airport and the beach and within walking distance to two restaurants. We were there only one night, but it would be a beautiful place to relax and explore Nassau. The best part was the staff - we had a very early morning flight, and our transportation provider canceled at about 10:00 PM, leaving us stranded at midnight when we saw the text. The night front desk person said he'd drive us (for a very reasonable fee) and got us to the airport on time. Wonderful service! I wish we had stayed longer!

We got two rooms, both beautiful and overlooking the pool. We only stayed there one night before moving on to another island, but it would be a great location to explore Nassau. The best part was the staff. We had arranged a very early morning pick up through booking.com. The provider canceled around 10:00 at night. I didn't see the text until after midnight and had to make arrangements with the front desk. They were awesome! The night clerk took us to the airport (charged us a reasonable fee, or course) very early the next morning. That's service! Highly recommended! Nothing - I wish we could have stayed longer.

- staceys482 (10/5): Wonderful Hotel that is an easy drive from the airport - We had a one night stay at the Ocean West Boutique Hotel on our way to a sailing trip out of Palm Cay. The hotel was charming with beautiful views of the ocean. We had dinner at a great little hot spot right at the bottom of the hill (a quick 3 min walk from the hotel) and then enjoyed a quiet and restful night before our sailing adventure. The bedding was very comfortable and the bathroom was also quite spacious. In the morning we enjoyed a tasty breakfast out on the veranda.
- Kimberly (10/5): Exceptional - This boutique hotel was very fun and stylish with colonial looking architecture and furnishings. The view to the ocean was great, and the pool area quite nice. We ordered breakfast on the terrace. The foliage around was nice except there was a vacant lot to one side so that view was kind of barren on that end of the hotel but it was off to the side. I had to wear a face mask at night because it was pretty bright outside the room but I am also very affected by light when I am sleeping. A noisy reataraunt at night down the hill but if you shut your slider you can hardly hear it.

- H2319BTkh (10/5): Peaceful, stylish, and comfortable. - We enjoyed our stay at Ocean West. The hotel is beautiful with a great view of the ocean, a nice pool area, and room for parking. We were able to order breakfast and eat on the terrace. There is some noise at night from a nearby restaurant, but if you close your slider, it is hardly noticeable. This is a quiet spot away from crowds. They advertise a beach at the bottom of the hill, but, from what I could see, you need to drive somewhere to not be close to the road while on the beach. There is a fun restaurant, the Blue Sail, not too far away on a beautiful beach..like a mile or so. Next door is a vacant lot so the view out the side window on the end isn't great but all in all it is a very pleasant, quiet, and beautiful place to stay.

We’ve already gone a good share of the evening without tv. The staff is very friendly and the facilities are very good.

The room we stayed in was outdated and had white iron bars in front of it, so the ocean view was less enjoyable. I recommend making sure to be on the second or third floor. It felt like being back in the 80s. Dining area lacked flowers and ambience. It was quite bare. Price is fair and comparable to the British Colonial where we stayed before, and which was completely renovated and had a wonderful bar and restaurants.
