- Becky (5/5): - Reasonable clean, location not too far from the beach WiFi sucks, needs better ventilation.
- David (6/5): Good, basic room at a reasonable price. - Very close to the SantaBarbara Bowl where we had tickets for James Taylor. It’s a bit worn and faded. A/C was noisy.
- carey (5/5): - Bikes not available as expected. Check in difficult. Difficult to communicate with. Room not serviced one day Service, staff availability
- kathleen (1/5): - This hotel does not offer public WiFi although it is listed as an amenity. Staff will not give you WiFi password. Staff does not answer the phone and the office is locked once all are checked in. I filed complaint with Booking. Booking says they cannot resolve the complaint because “they cannot reach the operator of this hotel”. Why list a property that cannot communicate with visitors of merchants? This hotel was filthy and appears to be used as a residence for homeless individuals through the HomeSafe program. Very unpleasant experience. Was unable to do work due to the last of WiFi and staff non compliance with communication.
- Rachelle (6/5): It was okay - The location was excellent Tiny room, very old school and outdated. No art on the walls
- annesophie (7/5): - La proximité avec les commerces Le bruit le soir et le manque de place sur le parking
- Jeff (8/5): -
- Heidi (5/5): Pay more, get more - Other guests were loud, drunk and arguing. It wasn't a good crowd. Not a good stay in general.
- Kourtney (7/5): -
- Curtis (9/5): - Very good hotel in a nice location. Good parking. Nothing, a fine hotel.
- Pedro (7/5): - Very good location, very cozy and clean room. In the room I stayed, the fridge wasn't working properly.
- Michael (8/5): -
- Ernie (9/5): - Room was clean and appealing Parking not so good!
- Ruth (6/5): It’s a good cheap option for SB - Great value for Santa Barbara with free parking onsite Window blinds did not fully cover the window and we were on the ground floor- you could see right into our room day & night.
- Cynthia (10/5): - The location was great to walk down State street and to see sights. Window did not close all the way.

- Monique (9/5): The Presidio motel was a nice place to stay for our trip to Santa Barbara. - The Presidio was centrally located to the downtown area. It was about a 10-15 minute walk away. Close to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art also. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I called ahead to inquire if the rooms come with a microwave and I was told that if they had one available they would make sure to put it in our room before we arrived. When we got there there was a microwave in the room which was a nice bonus. There were also free bikes to use to get around. The shower is very small. Also, our room (number 7) opened directly to the upper deck which may be a little disruptive during nice weather when people are gathering there. The window was also in direct view of the deck so there was not a sense of privacy. The other rooms were not so immediately close to the deck so probably not an issue for those.
- Weeaks (9/5): I will definitely use this hotel the next time I visit Santa Barbara. So convenient, friendly staff. Check-in and check- - Excellent location. Walking distance to many downtown attractions. There were not enough parking spaces on site, so we parked in the lot directly behind and weren’t sure if we could be towed.
- Sabrina (9/5): - Great location and helpful staff.
- William (2/5): Only advantage staying here is it is close to downtown - No breakfast Poor lighting in the room, and had to use the refrigerator top to work on.
Air conditioning only worked when it got colder in the evening. Had to park on street because of lack of parking spots.
- MAXINE (9/5): Great boutique motel! - The location was nice. Rooms were very clean. None of the bikes were available to borrow and there wasn't any parking if you got back late.
- Rosa.ace (7/5): - Me resultó muy cómodo tener aparcamiento, está muy bien localizado para dar un paseo y salir a comer cerca
- Julie (4/5): Misrepresented - Location Needs updating, no clock, no coffee. Chipped paint in the walls, can see wall damage where towel bar used to be ….
- Marilyn (6/5): Definitely a motel. - Location Very basic
- Alexa (9/5): -
- Lee (7/5): -
- Bobbie (9/5): I am an elderly lady and I stay here several times a year and love it for its location and cleanliness and feeling safe. - Great price, great location Lighting is not very good in room - no overhead lights - only lamps with low wattage
- Eric (7/5): - The location was great. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had really hot water. The room was very clean! There were also old school keys, which I thought was fun. There is very limited parking. We went out for the evening and came back to zero parking. We had to park about a block away. I wished there was a coffee pot in the room. Also, our room looked nothing like the pictures. It was clean but very worn out.
- Carlos (8/5): -
- Dominic (7/5): Great location, great staff, great stay. - Location and free bikes. The rooms on the bottom floor felt a bit more dated.
- Volodymyr (10/5): -
- Aaron (8/5): Best place to stay if you don't need anything fancy - Clean small motel on the quiet stretch of the State St strip, can't complain about that. Front desk lady was a little surly. Rooms are definitely very basic and in need of some new decor.

- Madeleine (10/5): -
- Latina (6/5): -
- Tsurumaki (9/5): -
- Gilberto (8/5): Very nice place very good price clean and very close to all events - Everything was good 👍 More windows cover so people can't see inside
- Carmen (8/5): -
- Roger (8/5): -
- Helen (7/5): Perfect for a pit stop! - Good location from the Main Street and quiet. The room served us well for a one night stay. Great hot shower and bathroom amenities provided. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was quite dark and basic but had what was required for one night.
- bagiryan (3/5): It was a very basic room, not particularly clean. The shower was extremely uncomfortable . - The location was good It was smelly and not very clean
- Edward (10/5): Worth the stay - Big room big fridge I liked the decor and yeah for the price you can't beat the location There wasn't really anything I didn't like its a motel you get what you pay for but its a nice motel forsure
- Ronnie (10/5): - Nice location and was down the street from a nice shopping center, pretty cozy and clean Windows need curtains for peepholes that the blinds didn’t fully cover 😅
- Christine (4/5): Terrible Front Desk Staff, Very Dim Lighting, and Lack of Wifi - The room is advertised as having free wifi; however, the wifi did not work in Room 15. The bed was uncomfortable. It is not a modern bed like many hotels. Instead, it has a box spring and is very old. The chair at the counter area where one is able to work is sunken in. Finally, there is no overhead lighting. The worst part is the staff. I complained to Jessica at the front desk regarding the poor lighting and the lack of wifi and she told me that the wifi works and that since nobody else had complained that it must be a "user error" issue. I tried to speak with her regarding my concerns as I asked for a partial refund due to the lack of wifi and the very poor lighting; she was dismissive, defensive, and made false statements regarding my complaints; she actually walked away while we were speaking. She told me that the manager would get back to me, but she did not provide any information for me to reach the manager. The manager has not contacted me. The customer service was horrendous. The wifi didn't work. There is no overhead lighting.
- Daniela (1/5): No satisfaction - Bien El precio $135.
Y me están cobrando $200.00🤬
- Meza- Valencia (7/5): -
- Leslie (10/5): -
- Michael (5/5): This was not a 3-star property, it was a 2-star. - Great location, very quiet. It was not a 3-star property as your sight stated. The mirror in the room was sitting on the floor. The room was sparsely decorated.
- Danil (10/5): Comfortable - Great location and price Need black out lights
- Danil (10/5): Good 😊 - Very cool Room number 1 need new black out lights
- Martine (9/5): - very good, clean and easy, central
- Pimentel (3/5): - When I arrived, I had requested an early check in since we took the smack Amtrack and it was arriving before check in and we were on foot. I received a confirmation email about the request, I assumed it was approved by the confirmation, but it wasn't. The motel, although not very friendly, was able to accommodate, and get us a room early. This is the only thing I can credit them for being positive about this place. The pictures, are very misleading. This place is pretty run down. The bed is not comfortable whatsoever. I woke up several times because my back hurt so bad. The walls are paper thin, so zero privacy. Went we for our anniversary, so we were pretty disappointed in that. The AC did not work and it was hot! The toilet flushing handle was broken, luckily my husband is a plumber and we made it work. I am not one to really leave any reviews but this was bad. Spend the extra few bucks and go somewhere else.
- Juan (5/5): - Location Blinders were old and didn’t give me enough privacy. Came back at night and there was no parking spots available although we were supposed to have one. Some other guest had invited friends and took our spot. Staff was pretty much useless when trying to find a solution, didn’t even look like he was trying to help. Looked nothing like welcoming.
- Anna Sophie (7/5): -
- Yıldırım (10/5): -
- Wendy (8/5): Fantastic stay! - Our room was clean, comfortable, spacious, and beautifully decorated. We also loved the convenience of the free parking and being right on State Street. The room lock requires a physical key, which felt a bit outdated compared to the rest of the modern space.
- Clevio (1/5): - Location Reception. My reservation wasn´t in the hotel system . No room available for me and needed find another hotel .
- Ethan (9/5): -
- Jonathan (7/5): -
- Kenneth (6/5): Good nostalgic property that was only let down by lack of hot water. - Good location, quaint and nostalgic, a throwback to motels of yesteryear. The rooms were clean, well appointed, had all the basics and good quality products like the soaps, toilet paper, towels, pillows, etc. We didn’t have hot water at all during our stay, we tried both at night and again the next morning and the water never got warm at all. This was the only major downside of the property, after spending a day in the sun and beach you need a hot shower and that wasn’t possible. Reported it to staff the next morning when we were checking out, and the lady I spoke with acknowledged there had been an issue but didn’t seem overly concerned or apologetic. Would have been nice to either gotten a discount on the room or at least offer something to offset the inconvenience.
- Efrat (7/5): - the location lack of ability to pay cash
it took me a day to get hitting water pot although it said that each room have 1, and in the end they blame me for not been in the room when the found 1 and brought it up to the room.
- Raymundo (10/5): -
- Danil (10/5): Good 👍🏻 - Very clean and nice I would advise replacing the windows with plastic ones.
- Victoria (1/5): terrible experience with Valerie. i will be submitting complaints to the hotel and the BBB. - location manager Valerie was very very rude, unprofessional, and demanding.
submitted a late check out request on booking.com and did not get a response. called the hotel directly, left a message & got no reply. upon check in, i was told by the employee that a late check out will be accommodated. next morning before check out i went to the office to confirm my late check out time. Valerie came out from the back with an attitude on her face and told me that a late check out is absolutely not happening. i told her how her employee told me that would be ok but she said he was new and that’s not possible. not a single apology for the inconvenience or an attempt to make up for the misinformation. the whole conversation was her yelling over me, not allowing me to talk. she lacks basic manners and professionalism. as a “manager” like she claims to be, she should have apologized from the beginning and said that late check outs are not something they do. that would have been so simple. but instead, she chose to give me attitude and when i asked why she gave me an attitude; she said the person before me was rude to her. when i asked who was her superior so i could file a formal complaint against her, she laughed in my face & said i could send an email.
very very unprofessional. someone like this should not be a manager like she claims to be, nor should she be working in customer service- especially hospitality. it was unbelievable how she treated a GUEST. i will be filing a complaint as well the the BBB.
- Heather (8/5): -
- Patrick (7/5): -
- Maria (8/5): - The price was very reasonable. The bed was comfortable. There wasn’t a microwave or any way to make coffee. The shower tiles seemed stained where you stand, definitely wear shower shoes.
- Maria (7/5): -
- chen (10/5): -
- COURTNEY (7/5): On the whole it was very pleasant and my complaints are not deal-breakers. - The location was excellent, especially for the film festival. Liked the free parking. Liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Great water pressure and hot water! It's a little run-down. Luggage rack was broken, but useable. Iron scorch mark on the rug! Could use a more secure lock, though I never felt particularly unsafe. And a coffee maker. More outlets!
- Emely (10/5): Overall comfortable, very modern, and close by to downtown. - The location was great and close to downtown. The room was also super cute and clean. Overall enjoyed a lot. The only thing that I didn’t love was that there wasn’t a microwave. I really think that would have made this a 10/10 hotel. Besides that everything else I was pleased with.
- Monica (9/5): Perfect location for downtown activities. - I picked this hotel due to how close it was to the Film Festival. We were able to park and walk and it was great! Hotel is a little dated but that would not stop me from staying here again.
- Larry (7/5): One good room. One not so nice. - Some of the rooms are upgraded. We stayed one night in an original room. That was not pleasant. The room was cold with only a space heater that was not adequate. We complained and were upgraded to a remodeled room. We were very happy with that. Not all were the same.
- Gallagher (1/5): It was a place to sleep - A decent location The shower hardly functional bad water presure
- Laura (1/5): - I booked the hotel because it was advertised as hypoallergenic. However, the AC unit had a strong moldy smell that triggered my allergies. We were unable to move to another room because it was not available.
- Lee (5/5): -
- Matthew (9/5): -
- Denise (1/5): You doubled booked and cancelled my reservation after I had left my home - There was shade in the parking lot while I sat in my car looking for another hotel to stay. This was a birthday surprise weekend. Little did I know that the surprise was on me. You canceled my reservation after I was on the road so I didn’t know I didn’t have a place to stay until I got there.
- Patricia (9/5): It was comforting - The room
- Alverto (10/5): The location is very convenient and peaceful. - The location was perfect! Everything that I wanted to see was within walking distance. I would definitely stay at this location again. The staff members were very respectful and helpful.
- Leah-Sophie (7/5): - Recht nah an der Fußgängerzone Abgewohnt, in die Jahre gekommen, nicht wirklich sauber, keine Kaffeemaschine vorhanden
- Elizabeth (2/5): I paid valuable funds to secure a space and location that respected my Human Rights. Not satisfied. - Convienent location. I did not feel safe and respected at this hotel.
- Monica (7/5): We all had a fine stay. Good location for the price - comfortable beds. the patio deck was relaxing the place needs updating. the bathroom needs updating
- rebecca (10/5): - Very clean room. Quiet area Not enough parking
- Ronald (8/5): I would not chosen this hotel if I was traveling with my wife but for my purposes it was adequate. - The room was clean. The bathroom could use freshening up. The AC controls were hard to reach. For the purposes of getting an overnight stay and shower the room was adequate and less expensive than bigger motels in the area. The sink faucet needed adjustment and the bathtub had damage in porcelain.
- Laura (7/5): Für Santa Barbara ein gutes Preis Leistungs Verhältnis - Das Zimmer war geräumig und mit einem Kühlschrank, sowie einer Mikrowelle ausgestattet. Es war sauber. Das Bett war bequem.
- Jacqueline (10/5): -
- Gerard (5/5): - No pool no breakfast small shower
- Jesse (4/5): - Staff was courteous. Door knob was clearly break and there was a crack between the door and its frame. Did not feel safe and secure.
- Elsy (9/5): -
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Heather (9/5): -
- Yahaira (8/5): -
- Mayes (1/5): I will not be using booking.com again - As I said when I complained in the chat, it looks nothing like the marketing photos and the rooms have no soundproofing so it would have been impossible to sleep
- Danil (10/5): - Everything is good Need black out for windows
