- DeStefano (4/5): Not mobility friendly. Needs upgrading of furniture. - Nothing Beds were too high, too heavy comforters, slats missing in blinds didn't keep early morning light out. Very small mini fridge on floor which should have been raised even if it was raised 8" would have been helpful. The antique chairs had too small of a seat area, the desk was super small, poor TV reception, No coffee/tea maker in room, non in main area either. Hallway smelled very musty. Not a place for persons with mobility issues. We were booked for 2 nights. Stayed 1 night and got a refund for the 2nd night. Definitely not for us.

- Wesley (8/5): We will definitely come back! - We loved the old-fashioned character, decor, and beautifully kept grounds. We liked being able to park far from the street. And it was great to be within easy walking distance of the marshlands trails… We would prefer a firmer bed. The bed that we had tended to slope in at the edges a bit like a hammock.

La chambre était propre quoique surchargée de bibelots de toutes sortes. L'ensemble de la chambre était oppressant parce que surchargé de cadres, bibelots, rideaux, etc. Le frigo était aussi bruyant que l'appareil d'air climatisé. Et que dire de la hauteur du lit!!! La salle de bain était inadéquate : pas de douche possible pcq aucun rideau pour protéger, l'ensemble de la tuyauterie était dans un état lamentable (le robinet du bain coulait sans cesse). Nous avions 32 marches à monter ou descendre et ce, parmi tous les accessoires décoratifs sur notre route.

Other couple from Ottawa we met at check out were very disappointed too..The decor in carriage house was dated and need to be updated especially for price we paid. Also envelope in room for tip if thought room cleaner did good job-- since we paid additional 23cad at checkin hope the cleaner got some of that..Very disappointed..Will not be back n will not recommend..

Nobody was there then the young man that checked us all in said he could not see the owners car so not sure what was going on. Breakfast did happen at a very slow and disorganized pace. Food was ok but the french toast was very dry.

Many years ago, I had spent a couple of nights at the Marshlands with colleagues for a meeting and remembered the experience to be pleasant, so I booked a room for my husband and myself. On arrival, we were greeted by one of the owners who kept stopping the check in process to answer the phone while the line behind me grew to four or five others waiting to check in. I had specifically booked a room with two beds located on the ground floor. While the room was on the ground floor, it had a double bed; the only other room in the house with two beds was on the third floor - which I had been trying to avoid. The room itself was dated and dusty and the curtains were hanging in tatters. The air conditioner operated at roughly the same volume as a freight train. I had booked a table for dinner at 7p. It turned out that we were ready to eat before that, so I asked if we could be accommodated. The response was "Now?" At no time during the process of booking the room or dinner was there any mention of pre-ordering. We adjourned to the parlour and had cocktails. At 6:40p, our orders were taken. Two of us ordered Chicken Condon Bleu - "It'll take a while." We were finally served at just after 9p - no apology and no explanation. We should have left and ordered pizza. The meal was obviously prepared fresh and we probably would have enjoyed it had it been served in a timely way. There seemed to be information that we were not privy to around the ordering of a meal. And then there are the dolls. Dusty, glassy-eyed, creepy Victorian dolls. Suffice it to say, we won't be back.

No direction or information about the hotel, the restaurant or the town. He’s like a one man show trying to do it all, leaving you standing there ignored a lot of the time. The restaurant can’t even be found online… so not sure if I should eat here.??? And they don’t sell it or suggest it! It’s Always empty. This place could be so much more… so much potential. - Raymond (9/5): This historical inn is definitely worth staying at for those visiting or passing through the region. - Really enjoyed the historical aspects of the inn. The decor in the parlour rooms, dining room and our suite transported my wife and I back in time to the 1940s or even earlier. The friendliness of our waiter for breakfast was enjoyed as well. Close proximity to town but with peaceful grounds around the inn were also appreciated.

- Lawrence (8/5): Good place for a short stay in Sackville - Very old building in a good location. Our room was outdated (eg few electric outlets) and overly decorated.

- Deborah (10/5): - Marshlands Inn, a beautifully restored mansion, is opulent and pet friendly. The location was awesome, walking distance to Sackville Fowl Reserve. I would stay there again! Thank you Jason for being “the host with the most”!

- Kenneth (10/5): - This place is a jewel. Dating back to 1850. Period opulence. Rooms very individual. No pool or kids area but for people who want experience nostalgia. The queen mum along with queen Elisabeth ll. Have stayed here. Price was very very reasonable through Expedia.

- Glen (9/5): Good for me - Once we were able to move to the coach house, the stay was good. The room was big enough and everything worked as expected. The bed was comfortable to me. The younger man who helped us move from the third floor to the coach house was patient and sorted things well. The housekeeping lady was helpful and friendly. I had a good parking space. Lighting was good for helping find the inn after dark. The grounds looked very well maintained. I would have liked coffeemaking facilities in the room but was able to get coffee at breakfast. The number of dolls and stuffed animals was off-putting.

- Louise (8/5): - The Marshlands Inn offers wonderful grounds, however there is quite a bit of maintenance to do. This said, the staff is lovely De ce The Marshlands Inn is an institution and you expect that some details are not up to today's standards. However, our room was in the Carriage house, which needed recurring air conditioning, which was very loud. The lamps did not function very well and we had to wait over one hour for breakfast. I ordered French Toast and got some kind of dry crumpets, nearly edible.
