- Leonela (10/5): Love the hotel location. Love the patio so relax - Booking.com Bed to hard
- Melchor (10/5): -

- IVAN (7/5): I wasn’t to fan of my room. We would go to sleep at 10 pm and the light would from the outside would go straight to our - Place is beautiful. Felipe was a great guy to talk too. I would probably go back just to say hi to him again! Everything great.
- Mona (9/5): Welcoming hotel in fantastic location - The staff! We miss Felipe already. The incredible historic building, the decor, the interesting treasures! We felt welcome from the second we arrived. Gracias.

- Larry (10/5): Comfortable stay in charming Morelia. - The character and decoration of the old stone building. Felt very homey with the friendly, helpful staff, especially Sylvia and Felipe. Good size room and hot shower. Good café. Convenient location. Value for money. Would stay again. No Wifi in room due to thick stone walls, but worked well in covered patio.
- Vite (8/5): Very good -
- Irene (10/5): Exceptional -

- Armando (9/5): Superb -
- Kristin (6/5): It was mediocre; the hotel is in an interesting old building which I liked but my room felt a little - The location was good, staff were friendly and the beds were comfortable. There was urine in the toilet bowl and there were black smudges on a towel that was hung in the bathroom; it looked like mascara.
- Lucie (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice decoration and design!
Super friendly staff, they showed us different rooms so we could choose which one we liked the best (all were very good!). Location could not be better. We parked directly in front of the door, could have switched to an included guarded parking space for the night but felt very safe in this area.
Thank you so much, we will definitely come back! Everything was perfect, would have loved to spend more time in Morelia!
- Pankaj (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pankaj (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. It's super beautiful.
- Diana (9/5): Was very good - The ambience the music, beautiful patio, very nice staff The bathroom they have outside for visitors is very small
Noise some nights from the house behind the hotel
- Gözde (10/5): Exceptional - Authenticity
- Louis (10/5): Beautiful Hidden Gem Hacienda - The unique style, from the moment you walked in to the hallways and patios. This place is a hidden gem. Depending on the room, the skylight is super bright and it feels like the lights are on. But if you’re an early bird, this should not be an issue.
- Mcgee (10/5): I Love Casa Anticuario - We love staying here. The atmosphere is cozy. It's a great location with easy walking to the center. The staff are super friendly and you can get a coffee fresh made in the morning. Well, in a perfect world, a pillow to bed with foam topper. But the bed was fine, really lol

- Zoi (8/5): Very good - The hotel is very well-located, in the center of Morelia. The staff is exremely kind and friendly, they also speak english, and they are always willing to help. The only thing that made us feel quite uncomfortable was the loud music that was constantly playing in the common area of the hotel, and that was always audible from our room.
- Manuel (9/5): Good in general. - Nice place, very comfortable and the antiques so nice. The parking place is far from the hotel.
They don’t prepare food.
- Francisco (10/5): - It was a beautiful place near everything looking forward to go back
- Jeffery (10/5): Best Staff in the world. - Hands down the staff at this place is the best people in the world. I was under the weather while here and they would stop in and check up on me and bring me food. Love these people for taking care of me. The property is located with walking of everything and close to food and night life.
- ageing-hippie (8/5): Lovely, quirky hotel - We had a room right at the back with a view onto the lovely inner courtyard so it was very quiet and peaceful. It was clean and comfortable, although we did have a problem with getting hot water. The staff worked hard to get it sorted and it was eventually ok, if a little hit and miss. There was no safe in the room and nowhere secure for valuables. The WiFi didn’t work in the room but was fine in the courtyard. The staff were lovely and patient with my very poor Spanish. We didn’t have breakfast there as we enjoyed going out to the main square for our meals. A good value base very close to the centre. If you haven’t been to Morelia - do go. It is a beautiful, unspoilt City.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It’s close to everything, clean nice beautiful garden . Just needs heat because at night is cold
- CEDRIC (8/5): Buen precio - Personal amable y habitación amplia.
- Zeiter (10/5): I recommend this place - it was a pleasant stay, people there were very friendly, the place was very charming and comfortable.
- davelG3863VG (10/5): Monarch Butterflies - Very attentive staff, lovely rooms in old but well kept building full of antiques. Nice inside and outside sitting areas. Beds very comfortable. Short walk to nearby square and fine restaurants. Inexpensive breakfast served in the lobby. Terrific place for two to three days.
- 98225 (10/5): Full of character - Housed in a quiet historic building close to the cathedral, the staff and owner are wonderfully friendly. Our room in the rear patio was quiet, clean and very roomy. We loved the quirky, creative decor. As a bonus, it is very reasonably priced. If you like unique hotels you’ll love this place.
- Brenda (8/5): - This hotel is well located three short blocks from the main square with it's many restaurants and nearby attractions and was very quiet at night. Cleanliness of floors, bathroom was excellent, but the wall corners and ceilings in our room could have used some attention.
Lots of hot water for showering was so appreciated after experiencing lack of hot water elsewhere in Mexico. Access to bottled water would be a nice addition - either in the room or to fill reusable bottles.
Breakfast was available for a small extra fee, which we enjoyed on two occasions.
The manager speaks quite a bit of English (and smattering of other languages) and can help arrange tours, etc. This hotel is popular with Mexican tourists throughout the year and Europeans and North Americans during the monarch butterfly migration period.
- KatyPh (8/5): Quaint hotel in good location - Interesting decor. Friendly helpful staff. Internet good TV - poor sound but it didn't matter to us anyway. Our bed was a bit soft for our taste and seemed to have a dip in the middle.
Our room was on the ground floor facing onto entrance and reception area but we weren't trouble by any noise. Might be different if you have noisier guests staying
Parking on Saturday in the nearby location where the hotel have an arrangement might be tricky especially if the light show is on at cathedral! We were earned against leaving our hire car in the street overnight but we didn't see any damage to those that were left there. Not a huge amount of on street parking available close by but not sure how much of a problem that would be normally.
Easy to walk to main square and lots of eating places nearby.
Breakfast good value at 60 pesos fresh juice ends ham beans tortillas coffee toast jam.
- cheshrgato (6/5): New Year’s Eve is rough everywhere - This is a very affordable quaint hands-on hotel, with a wonderful courtyard of antiques, art, radios, and phonographs. The breakfast was very nice, with eggs, toast, beans, and coffee or chocolate for the little one. The staff were very nice and attentive. The rooms however are hit or miss. Our first night we stayed in room 6, which is on the main courtyard and partially under a staircase, with a room above. Which combined with the new year’s eve date made it impossible to sleep without music from the tv blaring. There was also a severe mold issue going on above the shower, to the point we didn’t use it. I’m not being a whiner. I’m accustomed to a bit of mold around the edges as it is a humid town, and the baths at the local hotels are all interior baths. When I asked to move rooms the next morning (the hotel was obviously full NYE), I was given the option of 2 other rooms. I then chose 10, still on the courtyard but a bit larger shower without mold, and staircase adjacent to the front door instead of above the bed. It was much more airy and quiet, and not being NYE helped immensely. I think this hotel was well priced for the level of service and breakfast, and room 10. I would say room 6 isn’t really inhabitable. So be picky at check in, or request an upstairs / back patio room in advance. I paid the cheap rate for a small room on Priceline. The location is pretty great, 3 blocks off the main square. Security was a little iffy, since there is not always someone at the front door, and they want to keep your key up front when you are out of the hotel. I just chose to keep my key. I think next time I would reserve a room more in advance of my trip at the b&b across the street Casona Rosa. The pricing was the same, security was better, and the rooms are more quaint. Unfortunately they were full except for a shared bath / double bed when I tried to reserve. I hate to give a 3 when their staff members were so kind, but I have to be honest about night one.
- TerryPoole-London-UK (6/5): Good value if you're willing to sacrifice a few room comforts. - I stayed here for 3 nights from 9th Nov. in room 8 towards the back of the hotel. The young lady with the ponytail at reception was a bit miserable looking. She wanted cash payment up front, and wouldn't give me a receipt when I asked for one. Her female colleague with glasses was very friendly and helped me out when I asked if she could phone my next hotel in Merida to reconfirm my reservation there. When going out from the hotel, guests used to leave their room keys at reception, where they were hung up on the wall. The reception was not always manned, so any guest could take another room key, given the chance. I kept my room key on me at all times.
The owner of the hotel – Don Felipe – was very nice and made my breakfast every morning. He spoke some English as well, and showed me where to get my laundry done at a place 5 mins. down the same street at No. 545 called Tintoria Nueva. The lady gives you a couple of sweets when you collect your clean clothes; nice of her.
My room had no safe, no English channels on the TV, and the bathroom was tiny. I had to run the hot water tap for about 2 mins. before it warmed up. The courtyard was very nice, with all the crucifixes on the walls etc.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Travelocity's Policy - I have only good to say about the hotel. What I would like to note is that circumstances had me staying with friend who lives locally. Travelocity's policy of paying for all nights upfront is unfortunate, and will have me thinking twice about using it again. You could be more flexible in that regard.
- Andrew (10/5): Sweet Spot - Quiet, comfortable, friendly staff, 3 blocks from the center of an amazing heritage city.
Only complaint would be the stairwell noise, only one room above me but I definitely knew when they came and left. Once everyone settled in for the night all good.
- Delia (10/5): Beautiful hotel full of antiques - Excellent helpful staff, beautiful lobby and rooms, nice breakfast! Walking distance to everything. Bed creaky. Stay on second floor. We'd go back!
- freak4travel (8/5): Beautiful courtyard - Nice clean small hotel in a great location. Water and candies in the room and breakfast in the courtyard. Very friendly staff. The beds are wood and make noise when you move around on them otherwise very comfortable rooms.
- DanPatman78 (10/5): Small, clean hotel in the downtown - I have stayed at the hotel many times over the years and love each of the 16 rooms. All are different and have great character. The only slightly bad thing is room 1 is next to the kitchen, but I can sleep through anything so it never bothers me.
The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
- IngridTrue (10/5): Tranquil haven - Very central, walkable location, close to the cathedral and lots of restaurants. Two beautiful leafy courtyards filled with antiques and comfy seating. Helpful staff. Some difficulty getting replies when booking over email, but that’s been common with hotels in Mexico. I negotiated a discount for the room and so breakfast was not included.
I requested a second-floor room towards the back away from street noise and the room was very peaceful, with a window onto the courtyard and a skylight. Wifi worked fine in my room. After staying in so many noisy places in Mexico, this place was an oasis of tranquility. I would gladly stay here again.

- T (8/5): Near center, welcoming staff. - Cool place to stay, near the center and real quiet, great old stone building. I would easily recommend this place, especially considering the cost. There was no food in house but free coffee was made every morning to order and there were great options to eat nearby. This is a very comfortable place save for the occasional mosquito that wandered in. The staff did so much to make sure my stay was pleasant, above and beyond with great kindness.
- tamaraegans (10/5): charming hotel, friendly staff - we were very pleased with our stay at hotel anticuario. the staff was very helpful and friendly and some spoke english. the breakfasts were delicious and the room very spacious and comfortable, great hot water in the shower. wifi very fast and the decor and courtyards of the hotel were amazing and interesting...very authentic colonial mansion with lots of plants, antiques and comfortable seating in the courtyards. we loved the tranquility here and would highly recommend if you stay in morelia! thank you for a wonderful visit.
- pelawo (10/5): Hidden Gem - A real gem to stay in. Located round the corner from the palacio municipal. Cheap and breakfast is available. We had a huge lovely room overlooking the main courtyard. There are lots of antiques everywhere and the staff are friendly and offer good advice on tours for example. Just a couple of minutes walk from the centre. Wifi is also free should you need it.
- mepu06 (6/5): Hit and miss - Great location in a charming building, five minutes' walk from cathedral. Very nice people working there.
On the downside, some rooms are dark and very noisy, especially the ones near the patio. Lots of mosquitos too due to porous, old window frames.
- CaboSanLucasCocinera (8/5): Home Away From Home - We just got back to Mexico City after a couple of weeks in magical Michoacan. Rumors of danger and discontent are totally unfortunate and unfounded so far as fabulous Morelia and the Patcuaro área are concerned. MUST GO to these amazing spots! We went to several hotels recommended here on TA, did a walk through and walk out... and just happened into Casa del Anticuario. The property is an ancient stone structure converted into a very modern and cozy hotel that remains faithful to its origins. The staff are welcoming, professional and helpful. We missed our room in this hotel when we went off to Pátzcuaro... highly recommended!
