Guest Reviews
- Mark (8/5): - Stayed in a room that was just renovated. It was very nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It has great restaurant and beach access on site for us
- Marty (10/5): My stay - It was a very nice place and had a great view if you get somewhere on the 4 th floor and very spacious would go back for sure
- Kerry (10/5): Anniversary Getaway - Great getaway for our 30th anniversary. Felt very safe with the COVID precautions they took.
- Peggy L (8/5): - Nice place very close to the beach nice view
- Gail (6/5): Not what we reserved! - We reserved a king bed room through Hotels.com, and after check-in discovered that it was a queen bed, and it was very uncomfortable! We have had better luck with comfort and expectations when we reserved directly through the Gearhart by the Sea desk and website. Won't be using Hotels.com again!
- Victoria (10/5): Everything we hoped for and more. - A perfect spot for our big family with lots of cozy space. A short walk to the beach and beautiful veiw. About a mile from downtown seaside so the beach was less crowded but still super close to great activities. The only thing I wondered was why I hadnt stayed there in the past.
- Kc (6/5): - Great location. Our condo was clean and spacious. Also very dated and shabby. Furniture was especially run down. Kitchen was grubby. Seems to be high variability in quality of accommodations that are priced equally at this location.
- waymond (6/5): This condo needs improvements - Great location, but this place needs to be updated. The Kitchen utensils/pans were old and mismatched. Paper thin walls, not good if there are noisy kids next door. We were in unit #612, 1st floor which has a partial ocean view from the balcony. Shaggy carpet was damp and soapy from cleaning when we checked in. Bath Towels were not matching. Partial ocean view from balcony.
- Tony (4/5): - Liked beach proximity.
Disliked poor cleanliness - bathtub, shower, door frames, wall behind pillows (no headboard), coffee maker. The #663 condo needs extensive deep ckeaning.
- Roger (10/5): - Great little place to stay for a nice coast getaway.
- Verified traveler (10/5): oved it - easy checkin clean quiet and comfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): Need new bed and futon. - Everything was great except the bed and futon. Both were HORRIBLE. Also, the number of power outlets in the unit was woefully low. Staff were nice, efficient and professional.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Love the kitchen and how close it is to the beach...
- Misty (8/5): - The room was clean and ready before check in time. I loved the close beach access! It is very close to Seaside which is where we spent the day. My only complaint was there were no towels in the pool room. We would happily stay here again.
- DiGo (10/5): - It was so nice to have a fully equiped condo for my son's wedding weekend. The weather was beautiful as was the ocean view. Parking was easy. I liked the fact that there were no additional 'hidden' charges after I booked! Staff was friendly and responsive to needs. We'll be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful location . Charming town and great golf course
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property had a view of the beach - about 2 blocks away, The condo needed some maintenance.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The pool was nice and warm. The room was clean and when we needed something they were able to assist.
- DANIEL (10/5): - My wife and I had a terrific stay. Our room was great and the staff were very accommodating. I believe the staff made a lasting impression on us. Because of them, we will be back
- Shellie (8/5): - The bathroom could use a little up keep and the tv in the bedroom didn't work. Everything else was good
- Verified traveler (2/5): - ROOM 605 All furniture & lamps were awful, Start with the mattress. from couches horrible & uncomfortable. The only good chairs were bar stools or dining chairs. Because the electric range was unplugged had to move refridg out of way to fix that one. Open sliding door to balcony and screen slider flips out- needs total replacement/frame is toast. The most ridiculous utensils ever tried to use- beyond spartan! ! bathroom ok. AVOID THIS SECTION !
- Verified traveler (6/5): - very nice place 1 pool no hot tub. good view very cold took 1 day too warm up but over all nice place. would stay again
- John (8/5): - Good location for quiet night sleep. Could only hear the ocean. Clean, fully equipped, plus elevator. Nearby restaurants.
- Joan (8/5): First time at Gearhart - Nice room, neat and clean with good view of ocean and beach. Dinner and drinks at the Sand Trap across the street.
- Julie (6/5): - The property location is fantastic- minutes walk to the beach. The actual condo was comfortable, however a little run down. Our check in experience was excellent, the on-property office personnel were very helpful and accommodating from start to finish. Gearhart is very quiet and close to more bustling towns like Seaside and Cannon beach for those who want a quiet place to rest between sightseeing.
- sally (10/5): DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE - Not knowing what to expect I packed some basic things only to arrive and find out it was fully furnished, even with some spices, games, movies...everything. I was told I would have ocean view, but my room was on the first floor with limited views which did not diminish the sound or the ability to glimpse the ocean. I mean I wish I could sit and look at the water all night, but we were on the beach so much it more than made up for it. That and the beds were very comfortable. LOVED IT!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful and comfortable - Our stay was great. We really enjoyed the suite and the view was fabulous. The pool area could have been in better repair. The room was great though.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The 2 bedroom 2 bath condo we rented was very comfortable and great to entertain in. Loved the vaulted ceilings and the hardwood type floors.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great Location
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great beach access - I stayed with my family and we loved it.. All the comforts if home. And it has great beach access. We stayed in one if the condos and it was very clean and had no issues.
- Donna (10/5): Moms Weekend- 2018 - very homey- cozy condo.. amazing view- convenient to the beach and Seaside and other attractions.
We would stay again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Gear Hart by the Sea - Front desk lady was very kind, cheerful, helpful and accommodating. Nice staff!
Needed to wash some dishes - that were put away as clean - before using them. Food bits on them that didn’t seem like they’d gone through the dishwasher. . But a generally clean feel to the rooms! I will come back again. A good room for the price.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Condo close to beach - This particular condo was very tired and not in great condition. It had all the items necessary to stay for a vacation, but everything was worn and many things were broken or well-worn. The overall impression was not very attractive.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Ocean View, older condo, but lots of room - You cannot beat the view and location to the ocean. The condo is older style, but not to old. It took probably 12 hours to get the room to warm up as it has electric heat. There is not much overhead lighting and so the rooms are darker and have lamps. There is plenty of room though which is nice and it was clean with the exception of the couch which had multiple stains. The couches were pretty old and not that comfortable. The pool was nice, but the hot tub definitely had a smell to it and we asked that it be treated with chemicals.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Stunning Sunset Room - We stayed here after Portland to Coast, just a great location a few minute drive from Seaside, SandTrap across the street, quiet, comfortable and nice! I would stay there again!
- David (4/5): Deceiving - Booked a room with a king size bed 6 months in advance. Got to our room to find a queen size. Went to the front desk and they said they couldn't guarantee we would get what we paid for through a third party website. The floor was very filthy in the room. Not what we expected when for our Oregon coast vacation and a 500+ mile drive.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good as usual. - 668 was great and very comfortable. Will recomend and request next trip.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Smell - Room had a horrid smell to it.Had to air out for hours.
- Debra (10/5): - We had a lovely time and the condo was a great value for the area. I'm planning on coming back and staying longer.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Loved our condo. View was amazing!!!! - The hidabed was springy and couldn't be slept on. And the couches are a bit worn. You sink in them, but otherwise the condo was excellent, completely stocked with everything we needed. We absolutely enjoyed our vacation. If we ever plan on coming up to the northern Oregon coast again we would definitely come back and we will definitely tell our friends! Pool was huge and fun! We even left a bag accidentally and they are mailing it to us. Great service and so friendly.
- Carrie (8/5): Hasn't Changed in 35 Years - As children, we always stayed at Gearhart By The Sea. Not much has changed in 35 years. Our condo had dated appliances and decor, but everything was in working order. It was clean and it was a spacious two-bedroom. We had fun at the pool, loved the little kids ground nearby, and how close we were to the beach. Peaceful, relaxing and homey. I made new memories with my family.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Economical, with Ocean View - It was a good experience overall. One minor detail for me...it does have a small indoor pool and hot tub, but no showers to shampoo once you are done. I didn't want to walk with wet hair through the cold back to our unit and then shower, so I just didn't use the pool or hot tub after all.
- William (10/5): Nice little condo for a family to spind time with - All we had to do is pick up food to cook we didn't have to go out and eat.the view was great close to everything we wanted to do
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beach getaway - Had an absolutely wonderful and peaceful stay, the room was way more than expected. Will be coming back again next year.
- Mauria (6/5): Don't be fooled when they say you have a view!! - The view was of the top of the building in front of us. We upgraded for a "view" and were disappointed. The room was well decorated and the kitchen well stocked. But the bed was rock hard and the living room furniture was very uncomfortable. The TV VCR never worked right and the instructions were missing. Overall we have enjoyed Gearhart by the Sea but will avoid room 642
- Bradley (4/5): Gearhart is nice, but I'd think twice about the se - Room was outdated. Beds uncomfortable. Kitchen needs updating.
- Mark (6/5): Not too bad for the price. - Opening and closing the entry door was a bit of a challenge but manageable. The couch was very uncomfortable. The room was very cold and took a very long time to heat up. It was also very dark and dreary looking in the living room area. Other than that I guess it was ok.
- Mary E (10/5): - Our condo location facing the ocean was great, especially when a big herd of elk came wondering around all afternoon and evening enjoying the lawns and trees! They were beautiful and it was amazing to see 60+ elk at one time, combined with our beautiful view of the ocean.
Another fun event very close to this location was a fantastic zip line event near Warrenton where our group had a great time ziplining with High Life Adventures!
