Guest Reviews
- barriless (10/5): It’s worth to visit managua - The hostel is nice and also offer breakfast. They have a garden at the middle that makes the property very fresh. If you want to visit the city center just ask reception to organize you a taxi and it’s not too far.
- rydenw (6/5): Very accommodating staff - Stumbled here after our original hotel was overbooked, the staff were pretty friendly and accommodating to us. I think we were the only people there because as soon as we got there everyone kicked into gear washing the floors and cleaning the pool. One of our beds had something like gum stuck to the sheet but when we poured it out they changed them right away. Great gardens and seating areas, although the pool was a little plain. The beds were pretty comfortable and the wifi strength was quite good. Breakfast options were a little limited, but that's also partly Nicaraguan custom
- chhpito419@yaho (10/5): - Great service. Very clean rooms. Neet clothing bed. Good hot bteakfast
- kiltmaker2 (8/5): Simple hotel outside of the city center - This is a budget to mid-range hotel located south from the historical district. Quite secluded from shopping and entertainment. The staff are friendly, average breakfast and average size room. I would only recomend this property for those who are on transit, or, short stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent Hotel - Everyone was very helpful and friendly and the food was great!
- Alain (8/5): Qualité prix ok - Rien de specific. Hotel loin des resto Par contre pres du centre d achat.
- Elisabeth (10/5): Very comfortable and clean - Really comfy beds and lovely hospitality
- Martin (8/5): - Very nice hotel should have need to be in this area of Managua. Have stayed here many times over the past few years, and the experience is consistently good. The staff is very accommodating and friendly (no English, for the most part) Ask for a second blanket.
- Robert A (8/5): Executive gets props... - Great place and very good service. Good room, ok gym, decent pool. Good breakfast too. Clean old school small hotel. If there is anything to wish for staying at the Executive would be a better location and not that it's a bad area but just nothing close by...
- Ignacio (8/5): Clean and well located - The hotel is very clean and well located. Staff is friendly and helpful. No food or drinks available apart from breakfast.
- Osbaldo (6/5): Hotel para dormir.
- Es justo lo que pagas.
Sus instalaciones son sencillas
Su personal es poco pero agradable
Es un hotel para dormir, salir temprano y regresar por la noche a lo mismo
- Krista L. (10/5): Best staff everrrrr - I came in late, asked the night manager for a piece of bread, and he personally made me a three layer sandwich and brought me a glass of orange juice. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
- Nicoya-Americano85 (8/5): Great staff/rooms - Great staff; very helpful. We ran into some problems early on in check-in but was able to clear things up. Its best you have someone who at least can communicate in Spanish as well to avoid any confusion. It's pretty big hotel inside, breakfast was amazing and excellent rooms.
- Carley (8/5): - We arrived late and found the evening woman very friendly and welcoming. Next to no English from any of the staff so it's valuable to have a basic knowledge of Spanish. The morning woman tried to grossly overcharge us for transportation to Laguna de Apoyo. Fortunately, the evening woman, who may be the manager, showed up in time to correct that and ensure we received a reasonable price. The driver they did secure for us was awesome and it was a very nice car. The hotel itself is clean and nice, with good beds and a large breakfast. We may have been one of two groups of people staying there so certainly received all the attention we could ask for.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Remote Hotel - The hotel Executive MAnagua is a good enough hotel, it is just that there is nothing to do around it. Nor does it seem safe as everything we drove by around the hotel was gated up, dark and kind of scary. I would recommend a different area of you want to go out and explore. But as I said, the hotel itself was fine.
- josephg160 (6/5): One night stay - This was a good hotel for us as we only planned on flying in for one night and then heading out to Granada the next. There is nothing to do around the hotel and we had to take a taxi to sight-see. But again, not much to see. My advice is to avoid Managua.
- debbyseler (8/5): Beautiful stay - We are so happy with the Executive. Beautiful room, enjoyed the pool. The fitness room was small but had both machines we use regularly. The breakfast was delightful all 3 mornings. The toilet in our room had problems but the staff was attentive and quick each time. The shower had hot water. We would stay here again.
- solene (8/5): hotel propre et confortable piscine - hotel situé au milieu de managua, permets de se deplacer à pied si on est un peu marcheur.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great staff, very helpful, good WiFi, good AC - Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The wifi, AC and hot water worked well. Nice pool.
- josue_gil (10/5): Good choice - Very nice Hotel, nice rooms, spacious bathroom, generous breakfast, very good price, super friendly staff, we arrive at 11 :30 pm, hungry and with everything around closed , the staff gave us sandwich and ice tee, they save us the night, private parking, WiFi, quite place, the place is in a nice neighborhood, very close to the road #1.
- Savoi (10/5): Hotel Executive Managua - Clean rooms. Great service. I would have preferred a king size bed. Food is ok. Staff walked me to the corner store at night which was nice.
- julie (6/5): Charmant hotel dans un quartier dangereux - L'hôtel est propre et charmant. Cependant, le quartier est dangereux, vous ne pouvez pas sortir seul sans taxis qui sont très chers pour mes touristes.
- TDPanda (6/5): Convenient location - I spent 1 night at Execitive Managua.
The hotel is OK, the location is very convenient, it is close to a couple of shopping areas and restaurants.
The room was nice, no wifi IN the room though, I had to go out closer to the lobby area, so don't accept rooms in the corners of the building if you expect/need to be connected during your stay.
Breakfast looked very basic, not appealing enough so I just had a cup of coffee...
I didn't like at all:
• the shower was NOT clean. There were long black hairs in the drainage and mold spots in the corners. I'm usually very easy going and laid back but it was bad enough so that even I felt uncomfortable...
• there are two (not-so-pretty) reading lamps in the room that are there just for decoration because the lamps have the two round pins European plugs without the adaptor to fit in the flat Nicaraguan outlets... I felt mocked! Better put no lamps at all and make me understand that the bright white light of the ceiling is all the lighting I have in the room. I can deal with that, but I have a harder time with the non-sense
• there is an electric alarm clock but there is no outlet to plug it in. Please take it away it makes you look incompetent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): WONDERFUL STAY - Simp!y said, WONDERFUL. Really helpfull, corteous, and attentive staff. Beautiful hotel building facilities. I will come back and will recommend the Executive hotel to friends and family.
- EnPaix (8/5): Good hotel. Would stay there again. - I stayed here three nights in a single room off the lobby. When reserving, I asked for a quieter room off the pool area but they explained when I arrived that those were all double rooms. I chose to stick with the single. The third night I regretted it because guests arrived late, making a lot of noise, and the TV was on in the bar. When I complained, they did shut the glass door to the bar.
I liked the location for jogging because I was able to see Laguna de Tiscapa and the Cathedral. Restaurants within walking distance are harder to find but Google Maps and the staff helped. (The hotel serves breakfast and has a bar, but you have to go out for lunch and dinner. I recommend the pupusería de Altamira. Good cheap food that costs lest than the taxi ride to get there!)
I didn't use the pool because it was so small. There was also no pool furniture, and there was tree debris in the water. The gym consists of a treadmill, an exercise bike, and an elliptical machine. I didn't use the equipment because I preferred to jog.
Taxi tips: I called the hotel before I arrived and asked how much a taxi would cost from Transnica (a bus station). They told me $15 to $20 dollars. It cost c$250 ($10). When I caught a taxi from the hotel to Transnica, the driver charged me c$30, which is much fairer since it's only about five minutes away.
Things I liked: cleanliness, helpfulness of staff, breakfast, spaciousness in room, liquid hand soap, desk, ceiling fan and air conditioner. I also liked the name. It's not catchy but it sure is easy to find on the Internet!
Things I didn't like:
- There's no outlet on the wall where the desk is, so I had to run my computer cord to the bathroom outlet.
- No one knew how the room safe worked.
- They had no face towels. I find they come in handy for cleaning dirty feet after walking around in sandals.
Suggestions for the hotel:
- Teach staff how to use the safes. (Apparently, each safe has a code and the staff person was asking me what the code was. I prefer the kind of safe where guests can choose their code.)
- Have face towels (toallitas de 25cm x 25cm más o menos) available for guests.
- Install outlets on the walls where desks are.
- Include a map showing where the hotel is on the back of the hotel business card. A few taxi drivers didn't know where the Policlínica was.
- Martijnt_12 (8/5): Good overall place - Stayed here for a week. The rooms are spacious and newish. The whole building is pleasantly built with nice little touches. The rooms in the back on the first floor are more quiet but have not hot water, so I stayed near the reception where the noise of passing people is audible. The beds are nice too. The staff at the hotel is friendly and quite efficient, I had my clothes washed to satisfaction. Value for money is quite good.
The breakfast is included and a real treat, though when things got busy it became less exuberant. The hotel offers cable and a reasonable Wi-Fi internet connection. The location is quite ok, in a quiet but safeish area. Its quite feasible to walk to Tiscapa lagoon or the area near the lake. You can't have dinner or lunch at the hotel, but Managua is full of good food options anyway.
I wouldn't mind going back to this hotel.
