Guest Reviews
- Jeff (8/5): - Large room with big bed. There is no secure room where you can leave your bags after checkout if you can't take them with you at that time. On our last day of orinional stay, we needed to extend our stay by one night and managed to get it a lot cheaper by rebooking by expedia.
- Cynthia Yeates -Ayton house (8/5): - Huge room. Could have been a little cleaner as shower drain was full of hair. As clearly advised prior to booking, there are no lifts so be prepared to carry your bags up the stairs.
- Nicholas (6/5): - I’d actually give it an extra half star. Good location. Parking in back is tight for a bigger vehicle. Has a bar and restaurant.
- Lois (6/5): - Older property, but clean and beds were comfortable. Needed fan to keep room cool, even though heat was off. Would be nice to have towel racks in bathroom.
Staff was VERY helpful and pleasant - thanks to all!
- Raz (4/5): - There were puke stains all over the room.
- Mary (4/5): - The lobby is an Off-sale liquor store as well as the hotel registration. Liquor sales don’t end until midnight and the parking lot is very sketchy with the people coming to buy liquor. There is no elevator and the room was on the third floor.
- William (10/5): - Get more tv channels.
- Katherine (10/5): - Staff were so kind, helpful and amazing. We had a great time .
- Richard (4/5): - Was the definition of a "seedy hotel". As other reviewers mentioned the place does smell bad. I was afraid to sleep under the sheets and fortunately had a sleeping bag with me on the trip. Slept in it on top of the bed.
- Cynthia (8/5): - Helpful staff
- Sarah (4/5): Long in the tooth - The people were super nice but the room had a pretty strong smell. The febreeze didn’t mask it. All the soft furnishings- drapes, carpet, chairs, beds need to be replaced.
- Mike (2/5): - Location and friendliness
- Rochelle (10/5): Friendly, Clean & Quiet - The hotel is old and in need of remodeling, but clean. There is no elevator. My room was nice and clean. One thing I noticed was as old as the carpet was, it didn't make my socks or feet black, the carpet didn't feel clammy. Despite being on a corner, the hotel was quiet. I was concerned with the lack of street parking and having to park my car in the tight alley. I had a comfortable night's rest.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The staff is clueless, the hotel is mediocre and smells, they tried to bill me twice for my room, all in all I would never stay here again. Worst hotel Ive found on hotels.com yet.
- S F Marc (8/5): - Very traditional. Expensive.
- Benjamin (4/5): - The room was fine but the main lobby and corridors were pretty ancient. The carpet seems to be what was put in when it was orginally built - dirty and smelly! The room was clean and had a coffee machine with supplies and a microwave. The shower had great pressure, so that was nice!
The lady on the day shift was very rough in her dealings with customers. The guys on the evening shift were very pleasant and easier to deal with. For my next trip there, I would certainly skip T&M and pay the little extra to be at Best Western next door!
- Mark (8/5): - Ok
- Katherine (6/5): - It is centrally located but it really needs updating. An elevator would be an asset. The carpeting in the hallways needed to be replaced or thoroughly cleaned.
- Melissa (4/5): - Nice and helpful staff. Tried to keep it clean but didn’t quite make it. Sketchy because they sold alcohol out of the lobby and quite a few vagrants milling around. No locked front entrance and easy access to rooms from outsiders
- Steve (8/5): - No parking other than the streets
- jennpf (6/5): Basic but OK - We booked late and there was not much accommodation left so we had to book here. We were dubious but it was actually ok.
Our room was clean, spacious and air conditioned.
We were on the top floor which was quiet. The downside is you have to drag your bags up 2 flights of very steep stairs - not recommended for the elderly, infirm or those with heavy bags.
The hotel offers free parking at the back of the hotel (street parking is metered).
If you need ice - you can only get it at specific times - the machine was locked and staff could not access it when we needed it. A bit annoying as staff the night before assured us we could access it the following morning.
The only security concern I had was the reception is an off license - all sorts off people coming in to buy liquor up until midnight. This might just be me - but I found it very odd.
- Randolph (8/5): - This is a basic downtown hotel close to shops, restaurants, banks and other services. The check-in folks were friendly, the room was clean and tidy and the bathroom features were well maintained and functioning properly. Smoking is allowed on the property but there are non-smoking levels. Off-sales of a selection of beer, wine and liquor is available from the check-in counter. Overall a pleasant and comfortable stay for a reasonable price.
- Darren (8/5): - Clean, simple, worth the money for a one night stay while traveling.
- William (6/5): - No elevators, rooms start on the second floor. Very old building floors creek when walked on. Amenities like no breakfast available in the hotel, no Gluten-free items on the menu in the only facility to eat within the hotel. The next time I am on assigment in Whitehouse I will not choose this hotel again!
- Alfred (8/5): - Short stay at this budget hotel.
Very friendly staff!
Great location in this older building without elevator.
Greater short stays in a very basic accommodation.
Just what we needed.
- Jonathan (2/5): - Musky probably pet urine order plus dust
Had to ask for another room because my throat and eyes got real itchy within 30 minutes of being there
- Michael (10/5): - The staff was excellent, very accommodating
- Ramona (6/5): - Old with little atmosphere. Stair well only to 2nd and 3rd floor. Very steep. Carpeting stained and dusty rooms made for constant sneezing. No food or drink available other than off sales until midnight. Walkway out front had vomit for most of the morning and staff took no notice or care when it was mentioned.
- Jared (8/5): - This hotel is a bit older. Rooms have not been renovated in a while. Was better priced than other Whitehorse hotels of the same quality rooms.
- Alison (6/5): - No elevator and staff not very helpful.
- Maureen (8/5): - Good value option in Whitehorse. Just a few blocks walking distance to Front St. and many downtown Whitehorse attractions. The hotel has 3 floors with no elevator so not a good option if you have mobility issues. The room I stayed in had fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and crockery/cutlery so you could prepare simple meals if desired.
- wenxue (10/5): - service
- Junko (8/5): - Very friendly staff and breakfast was great!
- OURKARMA (6/5): No Bling, But Good - Nothing special but room was clean and staff were friendly. The room has plates, cutlery, coffee maker, microwave and fridge so we could make our own meals and save $ going out to eat. Central and handy to many restaurants and good stores to shop at.
- Monica (8/5): - Quite old but clean. No elevator.
- Kathryn (6/5): - No airport shuttle and no AC and room was hot & stuffy
- Darryl (8/5): - It was a short walk to most things downtown. The room decor was dated but everything was clean.
- Daniel (2/5): - There was no reservation hotels.com failed
- Julie (8/5): - Clean comfortable room. The bathroom was very clean and carpet looked relatively new. The hems on the drapes were hanging down in spots.
On the 3rd floor and no elevator. It is a long haul with bags.
- Ronald (8/5): - Old downtown hotel, close to restaurants and shops.
- Tina (8/5): - Very pleasant stay, convenient location in downtown where free offstreet parking is a plus. There was a 24-hr restaurant right next door, and plenty of other food and shopping options in walking distance. There is no elevator, so it was a bit of a struggle to get heavy luggage up 15 stairs to second floor. Staff was very friendly when I asked for fresh towels or soap (room is not made up daily).
- Sarah (6/5): - No elevator and rooms were very warm.
- Josef (8/5): - The T&M is a decently renovated older building. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The property is very easy to access and the area is clean and well-kept.
There are quite a few positives about the T&M - our bed was very comfortable, and the bedding was nice. The shower has excellent water pressure and modern tile. The water quality is superb. The room is equipped with dressers and armoire making storage of clothing easy. The room has plenty of space, and a nice big flat screen TV. Lots of outlets to charge your devices. Nice to have a microwave and fridge. Reliable WIFI with decent speed.
What could be improved?
- our room was generally clean, but the round table by the window had some food waste on it that we needed to clean. The inside of the bathroom vanity was also quite dirty.
- air conditioning would be a really good addition. We noticed some rooms had portable A/C, but our room did not. The window was fairly small so our options for cooling the room were limited.
- we put out our “please make up room” sign, but it was ignored. Not much point to these signs if staff won’t make up the room.
- no pens, paper, or local information in the room.
Conclusion - this is a friendly hotel that is decently equipped where you can get a comfortable sleep, but could use some minor improvements in cleanliness, air conditioning, and amenities.
- Rene (4/5): - The portable A/C was very loud and the room had a musty smell
- Rene (6/5): - The a/c is very noisy and the room smells moldy
- Jessi (8/5): Close to all amenities. Great service. - Very helpful and friendly service.
- Stsn (2/5): - smelled like cigarettes in my room when I checked into my room and then they kicked me out next day saying i was smoking in there. the fact that I wasn't smoking in the room and it smelled like cigarettes when i moved to my room. i was pissed off. no other hotels in whitehorse everything was booked so i was on the street.
- Karen (8/5): - I liked how the original building was kept up and kept the character of the building. I did find the stairs alittle challenging they are very steep. Over all loved our stay would definitely come again.
- Harald (4/5): overpriced - This was a totally overpriced hotel for what they provide👎
- gustavo (4/5): - Room was not done in three out of 9 nights. No clear explanation.
- Robert (8/5): - no elevator... lots of steps, higher than normal 2nd floor hotel conversion I'm guessing. Old hotel. Very limited unsafe parking. Back ally parking.
- Judith (6/5): - The cleanliness of the room was okay, and I do understand the staffing shortage currently occurring in the Yukon. There was a burnt out bulb in the bathroom, a baseboard that had fallen off and the sink tap was loose. It is an older hotel though. BUT, the staff was very friendly and I didn’t spend a lot of time in the room anyway. It was a place to sleep.
- Christiane (8/5): - Clean, quiet and functional with a really great location in downtown Whitehorse, YT.
- Chris (10/5): - staff is friendly knowledgeable accommodating
- Holly Hamilton (8/5): - Very cosy and old school hotel. Great value and location. We had a super large room, which was warm and comfy in the middle of winter. Had to change our dates last minute and they found us a room, despite the website saying we were fully booked. You can get drinks and pizza from reception and we left our luggage there after checking out. For the price, just what we needed for exploring Whitehorse.
- Michela (8/5): - Great location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The place that they had for parking in the back alley wasn't plowed. The snow was 6" or more deep. Price was different than on hotels.com when we paid .
Food in the restaurant was good and the service was good in there
- Joe (10/5): - Very nice hotel, friendly staff, and Main Street location is prime.
- Tracy (6/5): - Location is good. Proximity to restaurants and shopping good. Unfortunately the cleanliness was terrible. Coffee cups in room dirty. Sink and bathtub full of hair and walls and surround splattered w toothpaste and other unknown splatters.
- John (8/5): Good choice, good price - Quick over night stay. On our way through. Right on the Main strip. Convenient to everything.
- Jane (2/5): - NOT HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE
- Don (4/5): - Seedy area. Super dim lighting - hiding dirt. Ugh.
- Scott (8/5): - Close to dining
- Joe (10/5): - Friendly staff, quick and easy check in & check out.
- Amy (8/5): - The hotel is in a great location. The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. The decor is a little dated and there's no elevator but it was a great affordable option.
- Ven2ra (10/5): Nice Accommodation - Pleasant and informative staff member at reception. Thank you!
Location of hotel is convenient; downtown Whitehorse; walking distance to all attractions.
Room was clean, quiet, spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped.
Parking and internet were provided with no additional cost.
- Andrew (8/5): - Good clean rooms
- xxxx (10/5): - Near to downtown
- Allen (10/5): - Very clean rooms and halls, friendly staff.
Lacking elevator and restaurant in building but could access meald and beverages with a short walk
- xxxx (10/5): - Stairs were hard to do for me
- Betty (8/5): - Very clean and excellent staff. Rooms and hotel are older, but nicely renovated. A bit outdated, as no elevator, but great location. Will stay again 😊
- Brent (4/5): Not good value. - When we arrived at the hotel, (late), the hotel was locked & there was no one around to let us in. We were looking into an alternative place to stay for the night but after about half an hour the front desk clerk arrived & let us in, got us our room, etc. Front desk clerks were very friendly & accommodating.
Our room was clean enough. The t.v. wouldn’t shut off, we had to unplug it for the night. The room was quite dated. Bathroom was a little rough in appearance.
For the overall condition of the room & what we got, it was very expensive.
- John (8/5): Good stay in a very good city/town - Are you we can stay. Room was clean, king size bed was comfortable. Updated older hotel.
- Jason (8/5): Okay stay - Not many choices for nice hotels in Whitehorse. Even the higher price hotels don’t have great reviews. I would normally only give this about a 6 out of 10, but with the limited choices in town, i rated it slightly higher. The room was clean and decently comfortable. Hotel and room are not in the greatest shape. Only really bad thing is there is no elevator, so hauling your suitcase up to the 3rd floor is a pain. The parking seemed limited, but we had no problem getting a spot.
- Gilbert (8/5): Perfectly good for the price - Perfectly good hotel right downtown. Because it’s an older building there is no elevator so it’s no different than a private home... no big deal. Room was clean and everything was just great for the price.
- brian (4/5): watch your valuables in the car - hotel was decent for the price. nothing extravagant, but clean and tidy. but my car was broken into in the parking lot. right behind the hotel, right next to the building.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Unique building
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This place is a dump. Expatica should dump it. It’s not good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The phone system was down and unusable.
- mark (10/5): Would stay again. - Was very well located. Price was right. Service was friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Convenient for downtown amemities
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, right in the heart of downtown Whitehorse with all its shops, amenities, and restaurants. There's a kingsize bed and even a kettle for tea or coffee. The price is good value for what you get. Front desk service is nothing but friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Central location! Easy access to shops and restaurants. Friendly service.
- Eldo (10/5): - Friendly service, great price, convenient downtown location.
- 123Yukoner (4/5): Everyone their needs training. - Staff are untrained. Oblivious and borderline rude. at front desk. At no point do you feel welcome. Room is obviously dated but was cleen. My friends room was musty and he was not happy. Coffee pot had not been cleaned not a big deal for me but in covid times, seems a little careless.
- Kat (8/5): - Very clean and receptionist very friendly and helpful
- JoJoNicole76 (8/5): - Very nice people, great location, huge tub very nice surprise. Terrible parking and no elevator. Very clean. I'd stay again but I'd plan better. We were passing through to the states from Alaska.
- Kevin (6/5): reasonably priced downtown whitehorse - could do with improvements to pillows. Rooms have been improved a lot and the place is nice and clean.
- Marta (8/5): - Had a king room on the 3rd floor for 2 nights. Old style but clean and bathroom looks newly renovated. Only discomfort was that it was really warm in that room as well as the entire floor. Luckily there was a fan available. Overall, we had no problems.
- sam (10/5): - It was great for the value. Free wifi, and updated bed spread. Friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No coffee or tea. No water heater.
No suitable for family.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Its clean! A little old with bed spreads (think old las vegas). Its comfortable. Nothing fancy. Close to walking distance of downtown Whitehorse.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Tucked into the, the cabins were very nice. Staff was extremely helpful
- John (10/5): - Great for a value priced hotel.
- 521yvonnel (8/5): It is what it is - We picked this hotel because of its location. Rate is very reasonable. You can conveniently walk to the MacBride Museum and other downtown attractions. The building is old without elevators. The rooms are large and comfortable. There is bathtub, mini fridge, microwave. WiFi only stopped working for 5 minutes during our four-night stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great place to stay in town. Very central. Easy access to places to eat as well. Very friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean room and friendly, prompt staff. Great location, close to shops and restaurants, right downtown.
- FrequentFlier507199 (8/5): trip to Mount Logan - visited most of the Yukon was there for a photographic trip. Had an excellent guide. Hotels all taken care of by our guide. Trip to Mount Logan a great experience. Will certainly return next year very likely in the summer. though the change of colours in the trees was spectacular as well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nicely renovated and clean older hotel right downtown. The staff were friendly and helpful. I’ll stay there again.
- Dave-from-Racine (6/5): Just OK - I was on a motorcycle trip with my son and came into Whitehorse in a light rain. Not knowing the area, we stopped in the downtown area and checked for hotels. This one was close by so we took a chance. The location was good being close to restaurants but there was a charge for wi-fi (we didn't get it) and the room was OK. There was a narrow stairway to the parking area in the back to haul our stuff up and down.
