- Michelle (8/5): Sand Pebbles Inn, Qualicum Beach - Loved the location. Qualicum Beach is a very cute town. Wish we had more time to spend there and check things out. The beach was rather rocky. Fun to walk along and collect rocks but not a traditional beach to sit on.

The room was good although we barely spent any time in it! The kitchen was good enough and everything was clean It's not a high end place but you aren't paying for high end. I would come back!

- Margaret's (4/5): Great view, not do great room - The viee We booked a superior king with the kitchen for a couple and a superior double with two doubles with a kitchenette for our 3 adult children. When we checked in the room we booked with 2 doubles had only one king and no kitchenette. Thankfully we checked in shortly before the office closed and they found a room with two doubles but no kitchen but there was no reduction in price for a down graded room. The rooms had no air conditioning and only one room had a fan and the weekend was hot. The king bed room was not fully cleaned. The kitchen was dirty, in the morning when we pulled out the coffee machine, there was a used coffee pod in the machine. There were no dish cloths for washing up even though we were required to clean up our used dishes as per the contract. The bathroom floor was not swept when we got there.

Qualicum is a small, quiet place with no fast-food options, so having a kitchenette for early risers was especially convenient. Nicely renovated bathroom. Geneerous size room. Convenient parking. The bed was comfortable. Great sunset. Steps away from the beach. Sitting on the patio was fantastic. Would stay there again for all those reasons. The bottom cupboard in the kitchenette is old and dirty. The closet door was off its hinges, and the baseboard was dirty. Broken patio furniture, the grounds and landscaping are pretty, but neglected. A small bedside table on the other side of the bed would have been nice. Looks like they are gradually doing renovations and improvements, as the bathroom was new and the TV area was also new with a microwave and cupboards. Overall, the property needs TLC, but it did not affect our stay. You can't beat the location, convenience, and value. Another thing we were facing west, maybe best to ask for the east side of the building in mid-summer, as there is no AC, but they do have fans.

The stairs and porch heading up to our room was quite rickety it looks very worn on the outside but once in the room it was quite bright and modern. though the place could use a deep clean. Bathroom had a huge cobweb under the vanity, shower could use a good scrub.

- Tracey (8/5): Actually, it’s a little gem with great potential. When renovating is done, it will be even better. - Great views, comfortable bed and clean interior. Good little kitchen. Nice shower and new linens and towels. The drapes didn’t pull across the deck door completely and the blinds were broken. Outside, work was being done, and concrete was splashed on the windows. Ugly wire fencing blocked views and boards were laid across the ground in front of our deck. I’m hoping some of this is temporary. A second garbage can would be helpful and somewhere to hang towels up in the bathroom.

You can enjoy the view (the bay, islands across) literally through your room window or while sitting on a patio, in the courtyard. The rooms are recently renovated, all the furnishings are in excellent condition. Staff are courteous and friendly.

- Shannon (5/5): it was a place to sleep - The view from the balcony was lovely of the water getting a parking notice on our vehicle before/while we were checking in no room service over 3 days - apparently there is a tag to hang on the door for service but we didn't have one so they never emptied garbage or brought clean towels - we had to get our own. The key to our door never worked properly one night it took all three of us trying our keys to finally get our door open.
- Greta (5/5): Location is good, Presidential Suite not great. - Amazing views, well stocked linens and towels, friendly staff, patio is private. Free and spacious parking, kitchen had essentials for cooking and eating. I counted 8 spiders within these three days, I understand it's beachside but still not pleasent to find. The second step down from the front door is 3" taller, making it a tripping hazard every single time we left the room, which is especially troublesome whilst carrying your baby. Couple pots and utensils were dirty and greasy. The beds were too soft and it hurts to sleep on, although each person has a bed preference so I could overlook this. When we had previously stayed here, we were in a room where the patio opened to the grass field and we could walk down the metal stairs and onto the beach. But this room, though it had a fence, was inaccessible to the beach as it had a screw to close shut the opening. Which meant if we want to haul our 10lbs of beach stuff down, we would exit through the front door, around the other rooms, into the enclosed grass field, past all the other rooms, and then down the stairs to the beach. Lesson learned to check that BEACH VIEW does not mean BEACH ACCESS. Such a bummer especially since we LOVED the direct access and that was the main reason why we chose to come again. The absolute worst of all was the front door. It is a handle with a lock, but unlike a typical locked handle where you unlock and turn the handle, this door opens after you insert and turn the teeny tiny key head to unlock the heavy bolt. So inconsistent when it comes to opening the door that I actually dreaded leaving. We were never confident we could get back in which sucked when we're walking back from the beach, wet, cold and uncomfortable covered in sticky sand, standing outside for 5 minutes in a narrow hall waiting for this lock to open. Overall, Sand pebbles Inn is a good location for what you pay for, we like the place but the Presidential Suite was not worth it and we won't be booking this particular room again.

- Leah (9/5): Perfect beach gettaway! - The location was perfect and just steps from good restaurants and a few stores. Listening to the waves to fall asleep is the ideal way to spend a holiday on the beach. We loved it! In the increasing heat these days it would be great to have air conditioning or perhaps additional fans, especially facing the sun.

- Kerry (9/5): Peaceful and relaxing, exactly what we needed. - I loved the location. The traffic noise wasn’t too bad and the waterfront location meant that I could listen to the waves crashing onto the beach all night. The patio is private and the view of the strait was amazing. I had to run the hot water forever (at least 5 minutes) before I could shower.

- Naghmeh (10/5): Excellent place, great price, gorgeous view. - I loved that the room had a small kitchenette. We were able to heat our own food and enjoy a sunset view straight from out balcony. Also the beach access was amazing for low tide walks The coffee maker was not idea. I would have preferred something more standard like a drip coffee with filters so you can bring your own coffee and make it. Also one of the lounge chairs on our balcony was broken and wasn't replaced while we were staying there. We got a camping chair, but we would have preferred the comfort of a lounge chair.

The staff was very friendly, helpful and kind. It was a fantastic stay. 😊 It was really hard to open the door to the suite and it would be nice to have queen size beds instead of double.

- Francis (6/5): Good stay for a few days - Service was good and staff was friendly. Beautiful location and nice view of the water and beach from the room. Beds were comfortable and room was overall quite nice. Unfortunately room had strong scent of cigarette and above the shower area there seemed to be signs of a mold issue. It did not affect our stay, but wasn't the most pleasant part of it. Check out was a bit too early at 10 AM, and considering it was a Monday morning and we were the only patrons, it seemed unnecessary for the front desk to feel the need to send a staff member to knock on the door right at 10. Outside of these few nitpicks, we had a pleasant stay.

- Tony (10/5): - The room was large, clean and comfortable. The view from my upstairs balcony was incredible. I've never stayed closer to the ocean except at Malibu in California. The staff were exceptionally helpful. I had a late night dual emergency - no internet and locked myself out of my room. Staff came to my assistance.

- Leigh (8/5): We loved every minute. - There was no breakfast served - nor did we expect one. The location was perfect. There was a tv in our room, but we never turned it on - just gazed across the water and listened to the surf. Bliss.

- Jill (10/5): - The building doesn’t look great on the outside, but the room was spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff was super-friendly. And it was a good price! And it’s right on the beach! I agree with some other reviewers that the smell of cleaning products was very strong and persistent. To me, it was still very worth it.

- Bonnie (8/5): - Being on the oceanfront was the best but the beach was pretty rocky. Beautiful views and nice lawn to relax on however there weren’t enough lawn chairs. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the rooms have been redone and they were really nice and comfortable and clean. There’s an excellent restaurant a couple blocks away.

Balcon dangereux !☢️ Manquait de draps , sofa lit sans draps , nous étions 4 . Appartement avec planchers sâles avec du sable lorsque nous sommes arrivés , ils les ont nettoyés à notre demande .
