Es ist alles ganz Neu und richtig gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir sind wirklich schon viel rumgekommen, aber das war mit einer der besten Unterkünfte - die Besitzer sind unfassbar lieb und haben uns die kompletten Farm gezeigt. Da steckt richtig viel Herzblut drin. Das Frühstück war auch großartig - unbedingt mit buchen! (: Für Kinder ist die Farm auch bestens geeignet und es gibt einige Tiere zu entdecken. Also: Nicht lange überlegen - unbedingt buchen! (:
- Oliver (10/5): Beste Lage, tolle Ranchangebote für Groß und Klein, sauber und freundlich! - Die Lage sowie die Ranch sind einfach nur perfekt, wir sind mit unseren 2 Kindern dort gewesen. Wegen der sehr gut ausgestatteten Cabin, welche nicht nur sauber und gemütlich war, dem immerzu sehr hilfsbereiten und freundlichem Team auf der Nakiska Bear Ranch, sowie den tollen Angeboten, haben wir uns entschieden unseren Urlaub dort zu verlängern. Eigentlich wollten wir uns noch eine weitere Gegend in BC anschauen, aber die Ranch hat uns einfach alles geboten und die vielen Möglichkeiten von Ausflügen waren perfekt. Kurze Wege und ein Paradies für Naturliebhaber. Es gab viele Tiere auf der Ranch, nicht nur die Wildtiere im Nationalpark. Wir durften reiten mit den eigenen Pferden und haben dies mehrfach in Anspruch genommen. Unsere Kinder haben Reitstunden erhalten und auf einer spielerischen und freundlichen Art viel über Pferde erfahren. Ein Highlight war das Ziegengehege, hier durften wir immerzu rein, die Ziegen füttern und streicheln, mit den Hunden spielen, Eier von den Hühnern aufsammeln und vieles mehr. Auf der Ranch haben wir uns einen Buggy (Side by Side - Fahrzeug) gemietet, damit konnten wir die Ranch, den eigenen großräumigen Wald und die Umgebung, wie die Bisons erkunden. In unmittelbarer Nähe befinden sich 3 Wasserfälle, welche wir alle sehr empfehlen können, einige Seen sowie traumhafte Flüsse und Aussichtspunkte. Es fiel uns sehr schwer, nach gut 2,5 Wochen die Heimreise anzutreten. Wir haben absolute Ruhe und Stille genossen und haben durch die Familie Halsinger und ihrem Team auf uns perfekt abgestimmte Sehenswürdigkeiten erleben dürfen. Wir kommen im Sommer\Herbst nochmals wieder, die Ranch wird stetig weiter ausgebaut und die Barbeque-Ecke lädt zum grillen ein. Das der Urlaub zu kurz war, nächstes Mal werden wir definitiv länger bleiben und zu einer anderen Jahreszeit reisen, wo wir den Sommer und den Herbst, mit der traumhaft und wunderschönen Natur erleben und genießen werden.

- Seth (10/5): A place of paradise, adventure, and relaxation. - The property is absolutely fantastic, set in the most idyllic landscape where you can see the horses and cows in the fields, ground squirrels roaming about freely, deer and bears off in the distance and Turkey Vultures and other amazing creatures flying and roaming the land. The cabin is pristine, the owners have done a fabulous job of renovating and maintaining the land and facilities. The staff themselves are all incredible, happy to help, they are super knowledgable about the area and animals that occupy the land. We really could not have dreamed of anything quite like our stay here, we couldn’t recommend it enough. Truly a piece of Heaven on Earth. N/A
- Lioba (10/5): - Sehr freundliche und kompetente Gastgeber, die ihre Aufgabe mit Herzblut ausüben. Schöne Natur mit vielen Tierbeobachtungsmöglichkeiten. Die Unterkunft ist komplett neu und schön renoviert. Die Möglichkeit für einen Ausritt in der Umgebung ist auch für absolute Anfänger toll. Auch auf die Sicherheit der Reiter (Helm,...) und das Tierwohl wird geachtet. Vielen Dank - wir werden gerne wieder kommen.
- Oliver (10/5): Wir kommen gerne wieder und schauen uns den Wells Gray Nationalpark noch einmal im Sommerkleid an! - Die wunderschöne Natur und das Angebot auf der Ranch hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Inmitten des Nationalparks Wells Gray liegt die Nakiska Bear Ranch umgeben von vielen beeindruckenden Wasserfällen. Das Personal war stets freundlich und hilfsbereit und bietet zahlreiche Aktivitäten nicht nur für Familien an. Die Cabin war sauber, warm und gemütlich. In den Winter- und Frühlingsmonaten benötigt man wegen des eher kontinentalen Klimas warme Kleidung und gute Schuhe. Die sollte man auf jeden Fall im Gepäck haben. Wir haben viele Schneemänner bauen können :-)
- Janin (10/5): The stay was short, but exactly as I had imagined it, even better! - I had such a wonderful and relaxing time at Nakiska Bear Ranch. It’s not about luxury or glamour here – it’s about slowing down, breathing fresh air, and being surrounded by pure nature. The quiet, the views, and the feeling of being completely away from the rush of everyday life made this stay really special. Everything felt authentic and down-to-earth, which was exactly what I was looking for. If you want a place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature without any distractions, Nakiska Bear Ranch is perfect. I can't think of anything. It was perfect for my needs.

- Jet08682174728 (6/5): Idyllic setting, in Wells Grey park - Tricky place to review. Some aspects very good, some very poor. The ranch is set in the most beautiful setting. The balcony gives you good views over the countryside. It is great for access to the park. Our room was comfortable, the bedding clean but the room and bathroom not clean. The decking outside was broken and some areas very fragile. The room had a fridge but no kettle, it had a coffee maker but no coffee or cups. Dinner is brought in by an external company. The food is good but very expensive 45 dollars each. It all comes in polystyrene containers. For wilderness living there was no evidence of trying to reduce single use plastics, cutlery at supper was plastic. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, the best we have had on our travels. The most wonderful home made pancakes/ eggs and bacon. Full marks for the food, but again in polystyrene containers! The owner was friendly and obviously very busy running a farm/ accommodation. We enjoyed our stay but felt accommodation needed investment.

The dinner comes as catering but is good, very good. The fornuture dated, the bed are at first floor and toileyes ground floor. It is in the midlle of nature, that is good.
- Emiliemvh12345 (2/5): Horror - We are very disappointed, appalled and angry. We booked for 2 days but we left after a few hours. We were driving our car in the morning into the parking lot of the ranch, which looked bad maintained, and the owner came at us, and was asking what we were doing. We said, Hi we are staying at your ranch! He said, you are WAAAY to early for checking in. We knew that and we said sorry which we did not have to and we were not expecting to check in only do some hiking in the Area already. He did not welcome us in any way and hè was only irritated that we were early so we left to go somewhere Else to Hike. When we came back at 6pm to check in a woman gave us the lock (because the Doors cant be locked with a key) without saying anything About how it works, and was very distant and did not welcome us. After we went into the room (where there was a very weird smell) we found the source: it was a dead mouse in the toilet which we saw has been in there for quite a while so we asked the lady if she maybe could clean it up (since flushing it was not gonna do anything Good) and maybe give us another room because of the smell. She only said that the owner will be back in 10 minutes so she could not do anything. We went to eat in Clear water and when we came back the mouse was gone. We then asked the owner if we could maybe have another room but hè had no rooms that were ready. We then asked if we could pet some animals or see them because it was a ranch and since we were not welcomed or treated nicely at all we wanted to see and maybe pet some animals. I asked if I could pet their horses, I am a veterinary student so i know a lot About the animals, but I could not get even near the horses because they were 100.000 dollars and thoroughbreds. I said that I know these kind of horses and I also work with them, but still I could not go near them nor pet them because I could give them diseases(???) These horses were btw staying in an very wet muddy land and an old shed. He said I could pet the horses of the neighbours which according to him were only “2.500” dollars so I could. He laughed at me and said that its not a zoo, and you cant pet animals in a zoo…. He was very disrespectful and unfriendly to us and we were so super excited to come to his ranch because we Stayed at other wonderful ranches before and we were so disappointed how hè treated us. We then decided that we did not feel very Good and we wanted to maybe leave so we wanted to tell him that, hè only said: oké, leave the key in the door. And he closed the door in our face. Not even asking what was wrong or of hè could do anything, or talking to us or even a refund? There was no conversation possible with this man and hè treated us with zero respect. The ambience was very distant and very cold, nothing you would expect from a local ranch. This is not the way you treat people. Very bad maintained and dirty. We went to another hotel that night.

Lots if issues with the booking: changed booked cabin without customer consent, did not provide free breakfast as stated in booking confirmation, no toiletries, WIFI failed, mouse droppings on bedside table, trash in front of living room window, did not provide a key to the cabin.
- Caroline_Ch2014 (8/5): Beautiful location, delicious food - We stayed at the Wilderness House which had stunning views over the ranchland. Sitting on the deck or through the many windows we were able to observe cranes, hawks, eagles, ravens, bears, deer, coyotes and cattle. The Wilderness House was a delight, very comfortable and well-equipped. We twice ate at Nakiska where Lars and Aida looked after us very well and the food was absolutely delicious. The ranch also has a bbq area with picnic tables so that several families could eat together if they wanted to. There is also lots of space for children to run around. The ranch is a perfect location for exploring Wells Gray. We would definitely return.

- Discover714120 (6/5): Lovely setting - We were there when some COVID restrictions were still in place, so there was no breakfast available - no food of any kind. The cabins are cute, with a little deck for eating or reading, and a view of cows. The beds are the tiniest I have ever seen - very narrow singles. The bedding was minimal- no cover sheet, only a comforter and one pillow. The two bath towels were tiny too and thin. A little fridge but no coffee maker or any other amenities.
- AutumnMemory (8/5): Magical Place! Highly Recommended!! - It was a sincere pleasure to spend time at Nakiska Ranch on our recent holiday. Unfortunately, issues with the Coronavirus prevented the kind of contact we would have liked with our hosts, but we understood the need for distance completely. We enjoyed two beautiful nights in one of the self contained cabins and enjoyed the natural surroundings of the ranch very much. Everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay was in place. Very comfortable bed and full kitchen with all of the cooking supplies we needed. We found the cost of our stay reasonable for what we were given. We would definitely come back again and will probably do so as there is just so much to enjoy in the Wells Gray Provincial Park. We only just touched the surface during our stay at Nakiska. Thank you for a pleasant place to stay during our travels. Lovely time and highly recommend.

Had a great sleep. Internet Reception was minimal and no TV- but it was great to relax after a busy work week.
- R_Rahmatullah (10/5): Magical! - Must stop if visiting Clearwater. Absolutely stunning. Picture perfect. Classic Farm with amazing friendly dogs, cows, horses, etc... We had breakfast on the porch with the cows in our view and dogs laying by us. Couldn't be better.
- Darren (6/5): Attention to detail needs improvement - This is a unique stay as it is a working ranch, and the owner is friendly. However, it's lacking in a few reasonable comforts. There were several areas with cobwebs in the room, and also the last guest's hair in the bathroom - this leads us to feel like attention to detail with cleanliness & hygiene is not high enough priority and it needs to be at a time like this. The double bed had 2 single duvets on it - awkward for a couple. The water out of the taps was discolored and cloudy. It was an ok place to lay your head, but overpriced and could definitely be improved.
- jimt8888 (2/5): full price taken for cancelled booking - I booked this ranch in January, with a credit card no. as deposit. when the Covid crisis hit I cancelled , but have just been charged the full price of the accommodation with no refund. When I contacted them they denied any cancellation and said they had e mailed for confirmation in July, which I did not receive. the UK Gov advice was not to go and they had no confirmation, so there was no reason to take the full cost
- Georgetheseal (6/5): Secluded lodge - Our choices were limited due to traveling with our dog. Reservations were confirmed over the phone as I did not receive a confirmation email. Owner met us after a late check-in. I wouldn't describe him as cold nor friendly. Just a matter of fact. He gave us a key but then mentioned that there were no locks on any of the doors! He said that guns were a better deterrent if he had intruders (shame we didn't have any though). The place was relatively clean but a ton of cobwebs on the front door and ceiling. Not exactly inviting and doesn't instill confidence in the current climate. Fridge was barely cold and he did describe their internet as s*#t, which I'll agree.
- ngibso958700 (10/5): Peaceful scenic getaway - Lovely cottage in a hidden valley, ideal for families, just such a pity we were only there one night!! Comfie clean beds and bathroom, well stocked kitchen, amazingly soft sofas and patio with view over farmlands. Hosts very pleasant and helpful!
- Clee1983 (10/5): Cute cabin - Nice location, pretty views and super cute cabins. Right in the middle of Wells Gray Provincial Park, lots of parking and close to waterfalls and hiking. Comfortable beds, peaceful and lovely cabins. Would definitely stay there again.

- Tanveer (8/5): Better than average - The 2 queen bed is not really 2 bed one bed and one sofa bed. Better than other ranches as most people told us. No smell and very friendly host.

- Ann (6/5): Clearwater stop over - Clean, bed comfortable, comfy sofa and small kitchen. Accommodation was a log cabin with other cabins situated around a lawned area on a working farm. Arrived late as a stop over on route and just wanted to watch tv and chill but the cabins don’t have tv so felt quite basic. Understand would be perfect if you wanted to get away from it all, walk and read.
- phyllis (8/5): Rustic cabins in the mountains. Lots of atmosphere - Pleasant down home experience. No frills but good enough. No bathtub in the 2 single bed cabin but great view.

- Lourdes (6/5): Little, Cosy Cottage 8 to disconnect from world - The Nakiska Ranch is about 30 km from the nearest town with visitor's centre, groceries store etc.. Very isolated area, ideal to disconnect from the real world, do some hikes, admire the different waterfalls, read and relax. There is NO SERVICE so no possibility to get in touch with anyone in case of an emergency and no internet connection whatsoever. Cottage 8 (Deluxe Cottage) was a nice, cosy, little cottage very clean and nicely decorated. The owners offer the possibility to serve dinner and breakfast at their house. However, we decided to prepare our meals at the cottage that is fully equipped.
- Dennis (8/5): Rustic Retreat - A rustic stay in the middle of a very interesting, historical and scenic area. At the entrance to a Provincial Park with many back country opportunities.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Middle of nowhere - Owner was friendly, room was shockingly bad and very overpriced, no wi fi, tv or entertainment 30km from nearest shop
